2321  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past eight months bitcoin journey on: January 25, 2022, 08:38:11 AM
I see your update in OP.

Very nice 7th and 8th month.. averaging more more than $100 per week for each of those two months..

That's great.

And it would be a good thing if you are able to maintain that level of ongoing investment for the coming 4 years (or at least 3 years and 4 months), and yeah of course, if you are not getting close to fuck you status, you are likely advantaged by a certain period in which the BTC prices stay down... even for a decent period time.  And sure, you can reconsider your approach at various points along the way too if you want to change anything but at least $100 per week seems to be a very reasonable amount...
Yeah these two months have been great for me as i finally managed to cross $100/week for bitcoin investment in them and that was really big thing for me.As you said i am compiling all the months update in the @OP only for full fledged comparison and nice representation for other members as well.

The $100 per week was too big when i first started to invest through this eight months ago as was thinking that small amounts would be sufficient enough like $30-$40 per week but then as promised to keep the amounts growing per week i thought of going it that way only if some problem arises also. But to my astonishment not much of problems were there in $100 accumulation phase and now i am happy for it meanwhile and now it's all good.

I do have my doubts about your ability to keep going for 4 years or even 8-10 years, but hey, you never know, we might be surprised, but it looks to me that even something like 0.1BTC may well be in the entry level fuck you status in 11 years.. and you are more than half way there in ONLY 8 months...  Look at this.
At this accumulation phase I have pledged to go for long and manage funds by hook or crook to safeguard myself from the future inflation and yes i might surprise you with my long term investment strategy on which you have some doubts but can't predict the future correctly as only assumptions could be made. But will still try my best to keep this going for long period.

You have said about 0.1 btc is sufficient to gain some good status and i am worth more than that but to correct you i am currently at 0.05 btc accumulation with my investment over these eight months but will surely reach that level soon of which I am guaranteed about because not too long period gap is there.

even though you feel bad about lower BTC prices, you are able to accumulate more BTC to help getting to some higher possible target levels of BTC accumulation.. which would also cause less pressures in terms of how much the fiat price might need to be for you to feel that you are getting into fuck you status.. as surely some of those measures will also change with the passage of time, too... and needs to continue to reassess along the way and stay more focused on the longer-term... which surely would not be bad for you or anyone else if you are able to get to some kind of close level of fuck you status in 10 years or so (and persistent and aggressive action, even during these dip periods) likely helps to get there faster.. so long as you continue to stay persistent and relatively aggressive - without going over board.. if you over-extend yourself, then you become more likely to panic, too.
Was sad about btc going down the other way but that's true was happy as I was able to gain more sats at low prices because you see after a long time we have seen them below $35k and after some years it will never be the same.Like can we have the opportunity to invest at $100 or so in btc now? The answer is simple NO so just get as much you can because after 2 years only we might not see this ever.

While others are busy saying it will go down or up i am bit busy in stacking sats and have accumulated around 0.05BTC of them through my DCA strategy so it's gonna end up well for me as more profits in the bucket.Getting them at discounts is really a fun guys and you should try to give it a vodka shot and surely you will be in profits lure Grin

Here is my representation for the same : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5349270.0

Hold btc and it will go up with time and you just relax.
2324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past eight months bitcoin journey on: January 24, 2022, 12:47:50 PM
Finally I have managed to complete my regular Eight months of Bitcoin DCA investment and was happy and sad at the same time. The happy moments were managed to accumulate more sats at these discounted prices and sad because they are continuously dipping afterwards and now they are at around $33k which is negative sign for holders

But see with my this DCA strategy i have accumulated 0.05BTC with my investments which was not possible for me with one time investment only and see this is power of DCA if you asked.Have secured my future with these investments and plan to carry it for long until i am having funds with me to support it.

Happy bitcoin holders and get yours at some discount prices which you might not get later on.

Rollbit leaderboard seems to be filled with whole lot of hidden users as only two players have revealed their identity out of top 10 but those who have been following the leaderboard knows the Rollbit boss and second position also.

@Ayezee has slow down his wagering speed as he is stuck on $4 million range from some time so anyone knows the reason for the same? His Rollbit streams are also weeks ago so don't know about the same.

@aysg76 it’s common to see users hide their username, but at times whales like to display their names because I feel they like the attention they get while being at the top (this is my personal interpretation). Also I feel that Rollbit Boas huge lead maybe a reason why @Ayezee has slowed down, but it’s possible there might be other reasons too and for now I don’t see any other contender who can take on Rollbit Boss.
Yes taking on Rollbit boss would require another $6 million for sponsored gambler @Ayezee also so normal whales can't even compete with him because he is the biggest of them on Rollbit.Maybe the sponsorship might not giving him much bankroll at this time and that's why his Speed has slow down a little bit and gambling slowly. But will see what happens next.

Thanks for your appreciation. Its means a lot to me. Now, I think I need to be mature to think about before investing in any project.  Cheesy
Learning from your past mistakes is the best what we can do and convert it to our experience and knowledge for further projects. But would recommend you to stay away from airdrops as they are mere scams who can end up with your personal information and you can check a list of scam ones mentioned above. This was biggest reason for many investors loss in 2017 crash as tokens get dumped easily. But at last you need to become mature and it's your call for it.

But sometimes, it's frustrated to see that any of your posts are well written but no one gives a shit. At the end of the day, just trying to be a good member of this community to help others and also hoping for proper help from others.  Smiley
I don't think he has written something wrong or absurd but it's general statement that you can improve on forum and grow yourself but if you feel frustrated about it then it's totally your fault because you need to take things in better understanding which will help you to seriously grow.

Speaking of your post it's good but if you think merits should be given as appreciation then for me it's not that helpful so I have not given it but for someone else it could be so he has given to you.But our main concern is helping and discussion on forum on which we should focus more rather than saying nobody gives a shit and there are many good post than this just look for them.If you will work as good members you will see results for them.Best wishes ahead and stay away from scam projects and be safe.
2327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What happens to your network if bitcointalk go offline on: January 24, 2022, 10:10:29 AM
There are other alternatives to have some regular conversation among members but nothing similar to this bitcointalk community as i have spend quite a good time over here so can't think of even not having it around at some point. This is by far the biggest btc related discussion community having full load of resources to enhance your knowledge and skills and it won't go offline so easily.

To what i remember there was one such hack on forum in 2013 about which i read on article at some point and then hackers deployed malware after FBI seized btc from silk road case.

Quote
"If you used the same password on Bitcointalk.org as on other sites, you may want to change your passwords," Theymos wrote, adding that Bitcointalk.org will be offline for a while, but several people have backups of the forum.

Source : Forum goes down

Moreover after that @theymos has initiated bug programmes as if you could find any relevant bug on forum you will be rewarded for the same and we have talks about new forum software and many other things. But the main part is if this could happen to bitcointalk then why can't reddit or other sites have the same faith?

So simply enjoy your journey on this majestic forum without any future worries because at the end there are many possibilities and some solutions.
2328  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Hot 🔥 Stuff = New games to try out! on: January 24, 2022, 10:00:53 AM

Nah, they will not care about that as when they see someone wins, they can get tempted to follow what those people did. They see and think that they can do the same as those people. But many of them forget that those who win on the game really got their luck so they can not just follow it without thinking about their luck. They will not feel that they are getting misguiding because their mind or we can say, their evil minds, will tell them to keep playing because they have a chance to win someday. But maybe I am wrong, so I am sorry for that.
It's not like that if you follow someone then you will also win similar to him as gambling is totally unpredictable and some people have confusions regarding it.In luck based games you don't have any strategy and simple luck is present there. You can follow others but nothing is guaranteed at all.

I don't understand why anyone would be gullible enough to believe such stuff since

Humans instinct is to make up reasons for why things that they don't understand happen, then they look only for proof that the thing they made up is right, and then they convince others that the thing they made up is right.

People love gambling for the same reason people love going to church.
It is all our mind playing that how we want to perceive things and how we accept the reality so it varies from people to people. Some go to church for some religious beliefs and other just normally visit sometimes.

Sometimes the merit is one of the main reason why other submit their arts since there are generous forum member gives a good amount of merits on the submissions made by the participants so even if they didn't win in the contest still their effort has been paid off due to the merit they get.  Maybe some other didn't expect with the prize since there are so many talented forum users join the contest.
I am not agree with your point that you forum member submit their arts to get merit. They submit their art as it is a competition. It is not a fact either become winner or not. If those person who would not be winner would not take part on the competition then no competition would happen in the world.
Merits is not a point in these art competitions as you could check the winners entries might not have single merit sometimes so it doesn't matter at all because the scope is limited to that thread only. The main thing is competition (win/loose is part of this) and getting experience with it.We see new types of creative art and hope we have more of it soon.
2332  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary merit stats on: January 23, 2022, 10:35:40 AM
So did some of you suffer the same fate as me?
Okay so i know what you are talking about exactly like you were receiving good amount of merits prior hitting the legendary rank but why the pace has been slow down now.Like you have received only 44 merits till now after hitting legendary rank but before this you were getting more.

There is simple explanation for the same which is the newbies and other low ranked members are more encouraged by merit sources in giving them merits like @Pharmacist have already told you and you could check there are many others like you including me whom he has given ample of merits to reach new rank if he found any good posts in while reviewing it.Then he simply gives out 25-30 as usual to that memeber but now as you have gone to highest rank of legendary you can't promote any further so he has stopped his speed to some extent.

The same happened with me like i gained quite a lot of merits first to reach hero and then legendary by @Pharamcist,@fillippone,@JJG,@LoyceV,@Pooya87 and others but then speed was little slow but that doesn't matter to me and i worked the same way I was doing and slowly the merits were incoming. It is not like that you will get less or post are ignored but merit sources will also help others members. You can expand your posts to different boards and try to indulge in more discussion and create some useful threads and you will see merits coming to your way.The main aim of legendary has achieved rest keep the good way and everything is fine.
2333  Other / Archival / Re: Crypto Scams and Crypto Thefts in 2021 on: January 23, 2022, 10:17:17 AM
This is a truth that the scamming will never be reduced. In the same way that the world is in dynamic condition, the scammers are building  new plans, just as everything is increasingly mobility. It will never be reduced. Moreover, scammers always want to keep a little more experience. There is nothing to do except awareness, for the way to get rid of them.
Scammers are trying to find out new ways to make you fool and have your funds with advanced technology like charging cables and any other official sites hack but sometimes you would also find out that people still living in that era where normal scam also occur.

Like few time back the double your coins scam has also rised over a particular period of time and it made me strike how much dumb victims might have been to fall for such things easily.Like Saylor and Musk doubling your coins within these days and they deposited the funds over that address and later on it turned out to be a scam.

But overall nice thread and as usual detailed information by @Ratimov about how many people become victims of such crypto scams and nice information through graphical representation.
2334  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — New partnership: 👑 King Kaka 🤝 Bitcasino 🚀 on: January 22, 2022, 10:41:02 AM
This is great news! Indeed, "When it comes to thrills and entertainment, Bitcasino never disappoints.". Just watched this video, King Kaka - Dundaing, and I think I'll be humming "I say tonight we are dunda (dundaing) ... " throughout this week, at least. Smiley Watch this song, and a positive energy charge for the day is guaranteed.

When you watch it, keep in mind that dundaing is a popular Kenyan phrase meaning to go out clubbing, to go to a club. It's a lot nicer to watch it knowing what dundaing means. Enjoy! Smiley
Really nice to see casino partnership with pop singer Kaka and promotions going through entirely different manner which is by the way nice to see.Have listened to some of his songs like Promise Land and enjoyed watching this video also which gives some dancing vibes. That was fun to watch.

I suggest adding Pai Gow Poker which is one of my favourite table games primarily because the sessions last long if you play smartly.
Will love to join on that table as i have spend some time away from poker rooms but planning on to come back and enjoy the same old strategy based games going for long.So adding it to the casino will really attract some more player's like us to that one.

Thank you for your kind words! As I said, I don't feel offended when I win nothing from this contest because I enjoy the process of creating something arty, and I would never do it if there weren't at least a slight chance of earning something from it, either merits or money. Sorry for being so materialistic, but I read(or was it in a movie?) some time ago that art should sell itself, and I accepted the idea, and I've never changed my mind on the topic since then.
No you are saying right most of the members are taking part due to prize involvement at big level and if they take out the prizes then we won't see many of them participating in it.As humans we need to be incentivised in order to have some motivation and do the work. But the next part is main as if we don't win we atleast we got some experience which will help us later on.
2336  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we need bitcoin... on: January 22, 2022, 10:10:45 AM
We need freedom in transaction with low fees and no taxes.
The fees issues could easily be resolved with LN if you are aware about it and you merely pay any fees for the transaction. You just need to open a channel and only the main transactions are sent to blockchain network and you could make many in between them so the fees issues are resolved in bitcoin with the same.

The taxes? What type of taxes are you paying even in normal banking transactions also? You only need to pay taxes on the income you made out of capital gains on bitcoin at the end only not per transaction so don't know what you are talking about at all.The taxes should not be avoided as the whole economy and infrastructural growth is present over them so you should not try to evade them and pay it.

Bitcoin doesn't have backing government authorities or doesn't  have a system intermediary bank to propagate its use.A decentralised network consisting of independent nodes is responses for approving consensus-based transaction in bitcoin network. Bitcoin is touted private, DECETRALIZED currency.
This is how complete decentralisation of power actually looks like where no third party is involved and you are sole repsonsible of your actions. The network is secured by miners and transactions verified through full nodes built a trust system which we say concensus. This is what freedom you were saying about above.

The main use case of btc is to protect us from the rising inflation due to government recklessly printing notes and wasteful monetary policies that are devaluing the fiat even more and you losing your future hopes so gather as much sats(smallest unit of bitcoin) you can.
2337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NY Mayor Take First pay In Bitcoin via coinbase on: January 22, 2022, 09:58:40 AM
Thanks for the thread!

But the mayor was not paid in bitcoin, he just bought bitcoin with his salary.
The New York federal laws have no such legalization of Bitcoin and employees can't directly be paid in that so he is taking third party help coinbase here to accept his salary into bitcoin and ETH both to be corrected not only btc.

Quote
Since federal law doesn’t allow New York City to pay its employees in cryptocurrency, the first check will automatically be converted to Bitcoin and Ethereum before it gets deposited into his account.

At this time he has pledged to convert first three paycheck to both of these cryptos. He is among some top cities mayor to do so like Miami mayor Francis who is well known btc enthusiastic.

If I may ask, is it now that bitcoin is low that his salary came? Should we call it a coincidence?
I think something is happening behind the scene.
No much feelings though, the mayor is buying low so as others are buying.
He is an investor.
The price levels have nothing to do with him as you could see they were going down from a long time and he accumulating more btc as salary at low rates is mere coincidence according to me because to manipulate the prices some big games need to be planned if you are aware of that. Those who are buying at discounted rates will get good profits in the long run.

While we talk about the dips this guy is utilising the funds to fund every dip to have more funds in the end.

Another one for really some discounted prices that might not get anytime soon once we take off to the moon journey.

So stack sats and buy the dips :

2340  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best to use now? on: January 21, 2022, 10:46:57 AM

You can make mistakes with both. The Google play store regularly hosts fake and malicious apps which are disguised as the real thing which you can accidentally download. Similarly, there are plenty of fake websites designed to trick you in to downloading fake apps, and these websites will also appear on Google search results. You should never trust an app just because it came from a specific source or what you believe was the legitimate website. Even if it did, websites and servers can be hacked and have the real files replaced with malicious ones.

The correct way to ensure your safety is to verify the download against the PGP signatures of the developers or the provided hashes prior to installing. You should download the software in question from the official site on your desktop or laptop, verify the file you have downloaded, and then transfer it to your phone to be installed.
Absolutely there are tons of fake applications over Google Play Store and IOS also deploying themselves as some crypto apps intended to install malwares i to your phone's and system which will eventually take Control of your password and keys and funds will be lost to the hackers.

Out of them most obvious ones are the mining pool apps or cloud storage apps that makes you fool and hack your system then which is far more dangerous than we think. Some of them are here :

Fake apps on Android

There are fake one's on IOS too and one famous was Trezor app that presented to be the legit one hardware wallet app but in actual it was scam and only one user was unlucky to fall victim of that scam and he commented out that :

Quote
Christodoulou isn't the only person to fall victim to the scam; Georgia resident James Fajcz also told the outlet that he lost $14,000 worth of Bitcoin and Ethereum to the fake app.

So people need to have an extra security measures as you have mentioned and verify the softwares before installing them in your system which will protect you from any kind of big scam.
