1501  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk account hacking/phishing Alert on: July 18, 2022, 10:35:16 AM
It's really a shame that @tuannguyentn1, an account that has been here since 2017 can only muster just a single merit till date. BTW, what an ugly username that's there.
He is not only alone in this bounty hunting scheme account setup and has made only 56 posts from 2017 so you can clearly see his intentions and single merit helped him to achieve the junior rank member on forum but he didn't stop his work and now he's banned on the forum. These bounty hunters have hundred of pages with only bounty reports submissions and don't have any single merit on their profile.

Both users are banned.
Yes they have been banned and these actions are required for the safety of the forum and we also have some phising warning on the forum sometimes but still we see these things:

So there are many scammers trying to contact your through PM so it's our responsibility to be alert and take a look at them carefully while don't click on these links without any means.
1502  Other / Meta / Re: Race to 10K Merit club..... on: July 17, 2022, 02:23:09 PM
So was bit busy and didn't get the time to make updates in the thread and now we have one more member finishing the race and just came to know about this in the morning and was really very happy about it.

So congratulations to @fillippone on achieving this milestone after @LoyceV and @o_e_l_e_o and hitting the 10k merit mark on the forum after them and this happened very fast as @Ratimov helped you with 39 merits to complete this achievement and when I am writing up this post your record is already shattered with additional 14 merits but still congratulations to you as you was waiting for this moment from long time and finally now you are here and going to the next 11k club with them.

So just as a appreciation gesture from my side I am presenting you this unofficial certificate of appreciation on reaching this mark :

So once again congratulations to our Italian bitcoin geek @fillippone for this new achievement on the forum in such short span of time and now go ahead for the next mark helping others man.

So now report for other members on the forum is here and the this is graph showing the merits left for remaining contenders of this race :

So now you are left with 8 members in this race and will now update the charts once in a month as only @theymos is close to the mark and rest there is big difference so once in a month is fine for me and hope you all do good on the forum.
1503  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In the next couple of years you will regret not taking bitcoin ✈️ flight on: July 16, 2022, 12:17:38 PM
The thing is people don't understand bitcoin functioning and how it will be in usage in coming years like countries adopting it and for fast settlement LN channel are there with increasing bitcoin capacity but still they have to get into the dump of shitcoins giving them nothing but fake hopes for the future.

The people have perception in mind that bitcoin is expensive and will not give them much return but those shitcoins will give them nothing at all but still they go through it because their favourite influencers are telling them it's safe but to fill their pockets only.

Like this thread I created I miss the boat there are always such people who says these statements when prices are rising and when it's down they don't believe in it and wait for more dips which is not at all helpful.

So best is to accumulate as much you can for your future safety if you are true bitcoin optimist.
1504  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 16, 2022, 12:05:16 PM
Actually most of parents already look at his kids activity everyday, but some of them don't really strict that always on the kids where ever they go, they just give their kids privacy since not all things should be controlled. If you say strict parenting is the proper way to teach your kids, I'd say it's wrong since you're just don't let your kids to be more creative and always listen to your words.
Until your children are minor you should have look on their activities and giving them privacy at these levels can turn into leverage making them addicted to gambling. They don't understand how to use the funds and playing in fun manner could turn into worse nightmare soon so they should be strict to them in these cases and try to avoid it any cost.
1505  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: July 14, 2022, 03:11:49 PM
Provably they don't have huge announcement to produce and maybe they don't see yet the huge target audience they want on that platform that's why they not update in that medium. But for sure many people want to see some updates so if they could just post update on twitter from time to time for sure the number of their followers will grow more organically.
Don't know what's their future developments will be but am sure they will be coming up with something new to offer to the community but you see they have recently launched sportsbook also but the volume is low at this time so they need to focus on it with marketing dedicated to it.They want on casino players from they have benefits not social media followers which are easy to increase once they drop some giveaways. But Major developments are needed and real players for casino to survive in the market and this competitive business.
1506  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You have not lost a dime if your Bitcoin is in your wallet on: July 14, 2022, 03:00:15 PM
The problem is when people buy bitcoin to make profit and want to make it quickly! Bitcoin was never meant to be used that way, it is a currency that could appreciate over time but you should focus on it being a currency. For example if you can you should try to earn money in bitcoin, get your salary or part of it in bitcoin, sell stuff for bitcoin, etc. For example ever since price dropped a lot I've been going through my stuff selling anything that I don't need (like old stuff in the attic you never use) and use the money to buy bitcoin. That way I'm both taking advantage of this big discount and am converting useless things to valuable bitcoin.
That's the reason why we see panic sell in the market because those who have invested it under the dream light of getting rich overnight with it see their dreams shattered with price falling.I don't know why people don't look at the core levels of bitcoin with its working in complete decentralisation way free from any central chain of authority and your funds are your own if you are able to keep them safely.

The price appreciate over time with increased demand and supply curve being down and the coming time of halving will have the same effect as mining rewards will be halfed and with high demand prices will boost but the people tend to ignore it and only see bitcoin as investment purposes in short term.

1) $50k BTC> $60kBTC : We miss the boat

2) $40kBTC >$30kBTC : It's a bubble and it's dead

So you can't say anything about them but time will tell them what's bitcoin is capable of and you only need to hold your coins with patience in your wallets and actual profit/loss is when you sell them.
1507  Other / Meta / Re: How to post images?? on: July 14, 2022, 02:48:18 PM
As I saw your profile you already rank up to Jr. Member and in your current rank will be able to post an image. Visit the links  already provided to our forum mates  to know more about the BB codes and how to adjust the image sizes.
Also I suggest to use imgur to post an image, because imgur is very easy to use and accurate in terms of jpg.
And OP since you have already the links and all you want to know about how to post an image is already been answered it's better to lock this thread to prevent spam. In the left bottom of your topic you found ( locked this topic).
Yeah I also noticed that he is now already a junior rank member as today the 14 points of activity was distributed to the active members and his image posting problem is now solved and he can go on with the same.

But @OP as you can now post images just have the look at the links mentioned above which will help you to gain knowledge about how to post links with image readjustment as posting large size images doesn't look good or you can simply follow this method:

Code:
[img width=300] BBcode of the image you have uploaded on any image hosting site[/img]

Also imgbb is facing some problems at the time as they are not showing on the forum and you have invalid proxy for it so don't worry about it if you are using it and other alternative for it is https://postimages.org/ or imgur whichever you like more.

Rest good you have earned 5 merits also in few days of registration on the forum so keep this up so best of luck man.
1508  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 14, 2022, 02:35:25 PM
They usually never inform their parents and just steal their debit/credit cards in order to play online. Parents do find out later on through their bank transactions or messages or emails.
Parents or guardians must have a look at the activities of their children to be aware about their ongoing habits but yes have seen in many cases that minors have drained out thousand of dollars out of their parents cards just on these gambling and some other games. But they should be guided in proper way.
1509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Pictures on users profile? on: July 14, 2022, 02:22:54 PM
Its a bit weird to ask, but noticing that at a certain rank here, Forum users are permitted to add pictures to their profile, Has there been any user in the history of forum that has opted to use their personal picture as the image displayed there?
Don't remember if someone has used his real image as profile or better call it Avatar on the forum as many prefer to remain anonymous but like if you have joined some signature campaign then there is rule that you have to wear signature as well as Avatar while campaign like CM allows you to have custom one so you can opt of your choice but don't think so that anyone would be using his real identity.
1510  Economy / Economics / Re: The Growth of Bitcoin ATMs by Country on: July 13, 2022, 11:42:42 AM
I can see ATM numbers declining unless they start lowering the fees, because why should I pay 6-7% when its so easy nowadays (at least in my country) to find places where I can buy/sell bitcoin anonymously for ~3% fee. Another big problem is that ATMs are starting to enforce KYC and when you combine that with generally higher fees, I don't see much future for them.
The varying fees is issue and some companies are changing high fees above 10% also and including extra charges for the transaction you are making so this is problem for small transactions as they could consume a major portion of it.And yes KYC is big issue for all who wants to remain anonymous and now they are enforcing you to go through it serving government policies so didn't find any fun in them now.

I wonder about that.  If they weren't useful and people rarely used them, then I don't understand the explosion of BTCATMs that's happened in the last year.  I started a thread 2 years ago about my first time using one successfully, and I had to travel about 12 miles to do it, as the closest one to me wasn't working.  And today?  There are at least 6 BTCATMs in my city, and the nearest one is about 300 yards away!

So there must be something to these things, meaning they must be profitable for whoever's running them.  If they weren't, I think we'd have seen a decline in them by now.
For sure they are profitable business and that's why they are running this business and we have seen so many companies jumping into it and their fees varies from each other.

About the production then they might be having assembly lines in some cheap labour countries for bulk production cutting down the manufacturing cost and according to this reddit post a full bitcoin ATM cost around $650 : Bitcoin ATM cost

Now for profits they are also good like they are earning in some ways :

Quote
The ROI will depend upon several factors, such as the following:

Location of the business (e.g. commercial district, high-traffic)
Number of daily transactions
Average transaction size (e.g. amount users transact)
Total expected revenue from transaction fees
Marketing strategy to promote your Bitcoin ATM
According to estimates from CoinATMRadar, one Bitcoin ATM machine has the potential to earn up to $3,000 a month (e.g. $36,000/year) with gross monthly revenues of $30,000. This can go even higher with an increase in the volume of transactions.

Source : Profits

So there are ways by which they are making huge profits but users are facing many difficulties so it's better to find some other ways like localbitcoins or P2P ways to buy/sell your coins with less fees.
1511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: metamask security on: July 13, 2022, 10:00:23 AM
Some security tips for you are :

1) Don't click on some links you see over the internet that could inject malware in your system gaining access to your wallets.

2) Never share you seeds and keys with anyone and if anybody is asking you to enter it then it's scam stay away from it.

Your security lies in your hand and if you are not letting anyone compromise it then you are safe because the scams you will see on the net happens usually due to our carelessness of giving away our wallet access to the hackers.
1512  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: July 13, 2022, 09:47:51 AM
I disagree. Most gamblers including me shifted from FIAT to crypto gambling primarily because of anonymous gambling without having to worry about government intrusion at any point of time. KYC effectively nullifies that.
Yes we can say that most of the people who shifted from physical gambling to crypto based gambling the majority of them wants to remain anonymous and these KYC norms affect them a lot and you can gamble without any worries but under AML policies they have to integrate these new rules.

Also, information leaking incidents happen more often than you think. They affected big companies like Facebook etc which is why I have no idea why you think they aren't common in the crypto gambling world.
Data leak is quite common like the database they are using for storing your information could be hacked or if they are using any third party software then it's more risk because they have chances of hacking more.
1513  Other / Meta / Re: Raw Thai Honey for Bitcoins, another classic just after Bitcoin Pizza trade! on: July 13, 2022, 09:18:37 AM
Have a look at the old threads from marketplace

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=5.0

And you’ll find some really old cool sales and trade threads there  Smiley  Smiley
And even the first bitcoin lottery!!

Bitcoin has been used almost from the beginning of its inception to trade for goods Smiley
Nice find and have also not gone too back on the board but find quite good bitcoin deals in the past and also happy to see how far we have come.

Like this Selling new album for bitcoin and see how 0.5 BTC was also equal to €5 only and now see even 0.5 BTC is worth $10k even after falling so much.

So yes there are many bitcoin trades in the past but the pizza guy went too ahead with 10k bitcoins for two large pizzas making it an event for the whole community.
1514  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why beginners should pay attention to their privacy on: July 13, 2022, 08:57:55 AM
that's the best solution, no KYC at all, if it's not worth doing well then it's not worth doing at all, atimes i ask myself that why should someone even have to see through my transactions since they can't perform any alteration to it, it's of no need to them at all except for those under their KYC surveillance, i think i will go along with the preferable option to pass through chipmixer for more privacy.
Do you think they will leave you without doing KYC? Like you can make small transactions without going through these KYC norms and most of the exchanges have daily limit for it but don't believe them that they can't alter your transaction and restrict you from making transactions. The exchange have your database and possess the keys for your funds so do you think KYC matters in that case a lot?

A small but important correction here: If you are using a centralized exchange in which you store your coins on their wallets, then regardless of whether or not you have completed KYC, they can "alter" your transactions prior to them being made. These centralized exchanges aren't just spying on your previous and future transactions, but also determining whether or not you are even allowed to make transactions in the first place, and who you are and are not allowed to send your coins to. All centralized exchanges do this. The difference is whether they can link all that activity to your real identity via KYC, or whether they just sell your data alongside your email address and let some data broker make the link instead.

Avoiding KYC is obviously smart, but avoiding centralized exchanges entirely is even better.
The exchanges have all the restrictions they can put on you like banking services asking for all the documents to prove the ownership of your funds and then sell your data to government agencies and on dark web.

1) Coinbase having restrictions on Canada users above $1000 is well known to us that for transactions bigger then it you have to disclose the recipient details to them with full documentation so is this acceptable to users without KYC?

2) Coinbase disclosing in it's SEC filing that in case of insolvency user funds can be used to pay loans so what safety you expect from these exchanges?

At the moment you think of keeping your coins on these CEX your end up your privacy so make sure to avoid them if you can.
1515  Other / Meta / Re: How can i get merit point and how much merit can make me Sr, Hero, Legendary? on: July 12, 2022, 11:32:27 AM
Given your post history which consists mostly of those "proof of authentication" posts its a miracle that you even managed to get those 5 merits.
He has earned 3 merits on Bitcointalk community awards post and rest 2 are by signing the message thread from OgNasty and they are not in past 120 days which we can conclude from his post history that he is bounty hunter not with constructive post.

To even get a chance of a higher rank you should start writing an actual posts outside of altcoin section. Since you opened this thread you did the first step, now just take your time to get yourself familiar with the forum as its so much more than altcoin section.
Altcoin section is messed up with members spamming the whole board with shit posting and there are very less chances of getting merits there so he will have to spread out his post to different boards and yes the main and basic thing is to acquire knowledge for the same what you are going to write in your post which will help you to rank up.

Merit is simply same like the likes you get on social media platform like Facebook or Twitter when your post amaze or interest the reader.
On like here you get merit for your Quality post.
Rank is gotten by numbers of activities, Post and merit.
Merits are awarded to you when you share something useful on the forum, exchange of knowledge, helping out members with their doubts or initiating healthy discussion on the forum with good post quality and the content must be on topic. Then you get merits from other members who find it useful and knowledgeable.

But your rank increase solely on the activity and number of merits not the posts you have made on the forum.

OP, do bounty hunters actually earn any more for having a higher rank?  I know that's true for bitcoin-paying signature campaigns, but as far as I understand it a big part of bounties is spamming social media and not necessarily forum posting (although I know it's a big enough part that it contributes to forum shittiness significantly).
Still the same unless you are joining some campaign as junior rank member although I doubt there are any for them these days. The bounty hunters are concerned with spamming social media with the post of project they are promoting in hope to earn some tokens that will not give them anything at the end because once it's over you either don't get tokens but if you have joined some good manager they have funds in their wallets already to pay you but many turns scam. The other thing is they get dumped as soon as they are listed on exchange and you are in loss only.
1516  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: July 12, 2022, 11:15:56 AM
That is a good approach, because if you move away from your own methods just for the giveaways, then you would be losing momentum and the style you play. However, if you have free time and you see something on twitter, I doubt it would be too bad.

I know a few people who have twitter accounts (and somehow gained a bit over 2k followers) that literally joins EVERY crypto giveaway they can find, like literally a dozen everyday probably. So some people like this, some people can't be bothered with it, it's fine, and it's understandable to be fair. This is why I am not shocked about the current situation, stuff happens and we all react to it differently.
Not only you I also know some people over Twitter and in my list also who joins these sort of giveaways and are active most of the time in search for them or you can say that they have followed each account giving away these free rewards like casinos so it works fine for them. But for me it's not worth wasting time and gambling on slots is best as you can win more from it directly.
1517  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Predict the BTC price 🚀 250 mBTC prize pool on: July 12, 2022, 11:05:45 AM
I feel like you are wishing me luck, although indirectly, and I'm grateful for that. And if I win, I will buy a new laptop, but not for gaming. I don't enjoy playing video games, like at all. It's gambling games is waht I enjoy playing instead.

Just like today on Bitcasino.io 💜, betting 6 uBTC and winning 149.40
So you have lucky day today as you have gained 25x profit from your 6 ubtc bet resulting in almost 150 ubtc win for you.Slots are really good entertainment and you can win some good amount with them only if you are lucky enough which you are man.

Yeah i was also saying that if you can manage to get a good laptop you could play hassle free gambling on slots and enjoying there only rather then giving you attention on how to complete the missions.

I wish you even more luck, my friend. Smiley Win big and post about it here. We'll all be happy for you.
Thanks for it man and if some day  I have that win on my balance that is worth sharing here will definitely do it.
1518  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Why no bitcoin swap on Trust on: July 12, 2022, 10:51:55 AM
As @mk4 has already pointed out you can't directly swap altcoins for bitcoin as the native chain is different for both of them.Like you can't swap ETH to BTC as the pair is not available and they have different on chain but like you can swap ERC-20 tokens for each other as they are on the same chain and Binance chain native tokens to each other but not to some other chain.

So you have to go through buying some bitcoin through exchange and then transfer them to non custodial wallet or hardware wallets as these CEX are not safe at all.
1519  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: don't be fooled by titles. on: July 12, 2022, 10:34:59 AM
I believe most of those people get scammed because they want some easy money. The title is not the most important, but the "free money" offer.
Exactly their greed is the reason why scammers are successful in their attempt to steal funds from them and I really want to know that they didn't get alarmed at all that why would anyone would be giving them free money as there is hidden cost linked to these free rewards.

Speaking for the airdrop then the biggest mistake they do is join these at first end filling out their personal information to them and ending up their privacy.Second is they link their main wallets having funds in them which give them direct access to your funds and then they drain out your wallet balance through it as you have already given them seeds of your wallet.

DM first with money request, private key request, mnemonic request is always from scammer.
There are so many threads and information regarding this topic that never share your seeds or private keys with anyone you don't trust IRL also but they are giving them away to scammers they have met online which is really surprising.

This is so true. Anyone should really block anyone who asks for your private information online, especially financial information.
You should not be joining these telegram groups at all where they ask for such information with misrepresentation portraying lucrative offers to the members in hope to scam them of funds.
1520  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Securing Your Seed Phrase with Washers on: July 11, 2022, 11:42:10 AM
I just learned from o_e_l_e_o that the privacy-focused email provider proton.me, which some of you may be using, now offers to create 12-word recovery phrases for your email account.
This will be another useful application for this seed phrase backup technique. After all, these washer backups are dirt cheap after initial investment for the equipment.
Just wanted to let all the 'washer guys' (? Cheesy) here know about it in case they're interested..
Yeah also recently came to know about the news from him and was happy to see that they are adopting BIP-39 entropy for the recovery seed phrase.Along with it you can download the recovery file and you have to upload it if you want to change the password for your mail. This seed needs to be properly backed up and don't leave it at unsafe places.

That's nice feature addition to proton recovery methods but remember still you need to safely backup the recovery phrase and don't open recovery file. But you have option to increase your security with it.

Coming back to the orginal topic for seed phrases then we see above the SIC marking Doot peen marking machine beast that could help you to mark up on metals with clarity also but didn't know the prices for the same.

So there was one article which I found interesting about these marking machines depending on the metal type we are using and explain in good depth how the engraving works and which technology is best for the particular metal and if you "washer guys" are interested in it you can read it here : Right marking machine
