1341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be wary of crypto/blockchain bridges! on: August 23, 2022, 01:53:23 PM
The Ronin network hack was one of the biggest but see people loose their so much amount and hackers enjoy the privilege of those funds but I can't understand how could you don't notice that there are funds stolen over your platform for a whole week and it only came under surveillance when users were unable to withdraw funds

The DeFi is becoming the most scammed things on crypto and with KYC implementation in them the base is eroded so you must avoid them at any cost.

I would like to ask myself how many of these cases are actually real hacking, and how many of these cases are essentially fake hacking in the sense that the funds were stolen by those who are actually behind the project, and then they blame it on hackers from some enemy country? I just want to say that not everything is as it seems and that countries like Iran or North Korea should not always be blamed for every hacking, which has already become a common practice.
We can assume that in some cases the founders are involved in these hacking cases because as we have seen that they have security team whose responsibility is to find out any hack or something like that but how could it went unnoticed for so many days when it's worth million of dollars and then you have the address but you know nothing can happen with it because you can't block their funds as they are not over any CEX exchange and people loose their money so they need to avoid them at most.

And even if it's not them, do you really expect the hackers be nice people who care about their victims?! Then they would notify the team, not steal people's money!
Hackers only want to drain the funds out of these platforms without even thinking of anyone and transfer it to their own wallets. But sometimes they open up about such hacks to notify them that there were bugs of which they took the advantage in order to mock them as have seen in many cases and show they have hacked the amounts.

There are also good hackers who hack to point out flaws and then get rewarded for that, but most of them are unscrupulous and will steal anything they get the chance for - regardless of whether it's a small crypto investor or someone with millions of dollars in their account.
There are sometimes some bug bounty associated with these platforms under which they inform the platform of how security breaches could happen or sometimes we have seen hackers returning funds also to the platform after big hacks also. But as you say they would drain the last sats in your wallet also if they got access to your wallet and in these platforms they only need to find one bug and all users fund are under their control so it's easy for them.

Im not level 2 verified but still able to withdraw. Did you ask the support for the reason?
To my surprise, I don't know why the withdrawal is disabled when using my laptop, but the withdrawal works when I tried logging my account using my desktop. Perhaps, it has something to do with my hardened firefox browser causing the website to break.

But then again, it's too bad I have surrendered the level 2 verification without verifying the community first   Undecided
I have not tried withdrawing my funds and also not logged in from past two days but were you able to withdraw funds with level one only during past withdrawal? Or do you have encountered the problem very first time? I am also at level 1 and need to check if I am able to withdraw from my system.

Stopping at only three days from a new record!
I got distracted preparing a dinner with friends (yes, I manage to have a life outside of the forum).
I had an epiphany the morning after, when I felt something was missing...
Ok I am already building again, so... see you in.... (Fillippone checks Google sheets...) October 2023!

How many more records you have decided to surpass and make on the forum during your journey man Grin? The top three streaks are in your name and for 413 days seems really hard one for anyone to achieve as it's clearly visible from the sheets you have uploaded.

You got little distracted enjoying your life outside the forum otherwise it would have been a perfect blend of another record because three days was easy task for you to achieve but it didn't stop you and dediniyou are taking @DdmrDdmr words seriously and going insane mode.

Since you still have that pizza badge in your profile, you should eat pizza every day (until badge is removed) and think about Bitcoin pizza day.
Yeah he was the winner of the pizza bake off contest and as per @Cyrus also the badge will remain for a long period of time and hope it continues to be there until the bitcoin pumps upto certain level above $30k also for our Italian bitcoin boss.
1344  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: August 22, 2022, 10:52:39 AM

I mean when you are not rich at all, it doesn't seem like something that is needed at all. I believe that you could, it would benefit for sure, but not a lot because who would want to get money from someone like me? I literally have 14 dollars left in rollbit right now which I can't even do much to be fair Cheesy.

Anyone who hacks into my account would feel bad about me and leave more money in Lol. So all in all, people who have a lot more money have something that is dangerous to secure, their money but people like me do not have to worry about getting hacked or pm'd or bothered because we do not have money, it is still not bad, it is just not that great.
Hackers have the different approach I would say like they will not target the small gamblers account in the first instance and even if they do they will not leave anything in your account even it's $14 only so we don't want to loose this also.

Now the rich gamblers fear of losing their balance also but they will not be affected much and want more security of their account by disclosing it so we all have to protect it from these attempts and the team needs to have extra security protocols for the protection of gamblers funds.
1345  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Street Selfie? Why all these crazy requirements in the name of KYC verification? on: August 22, 2022, 10:38:30 AM
Lol. Is this what people are subjecting themselves to these days in exchange for the privilege of being allowed to give their coins away to a complete stranger and lose all ownership rights of them? You can take out a credit card with a bank statement with your name and address on it. You can fly around the world with a passport. But those things are obviously beneath the almighty "Cloudbet", who need a bank statement, passport, street selfie holding a newspaper, video of you saying "My name is x and I love Cloudbet", and the password to your email account so they can check the bank statement you gave them was actually emailed to you directly from the bank. What a load of horseshit.

Every day that goes by I seem to be more and more justified in my stance of never completing KYC anywhere.
For them they are taking this KYC steps ahead like at some point there were some levels like at higher the amount you want to withdraw more documents you need but this street sign and newspaper in one hand has gone too far.How could people not understand this privacy oriented things and just go with whatever they demand them to do.There are lot of other options which have zero KYC needs and you can opt for them.Your selfies and bank data are way to track you in every possible manners so why you are into decentralised world of crypto id you are really comfortable with providing them with all the documents they need so they can block your transactions and then government would come after you because you were involved in this gambling sort of thing and then you loose your coins and privacy is a just a joke for them.
1346  Other / Meta / Re: Why here people dont want to hear truth ? on: August 22, 2022, 10:25:28 AM
This is open discussion forum and we all have different opinions on the same matter but this doesn't imply that we should we agreeing on the whole level.Supoose what you think is the truth might not be for the other person and we have lot of similar cases encountered on the forum where people get into debates with each other trying to convince each other.

But if you think you don't want to have any conversation with the particular person and avoid any tussle then ignore button is the solution to many problems on the forum only if you use it.Let me take simple example of how there was division among members on the Russia-Ukriane war topic and the best was to ignore users whom you don't find right because we don't have any specific ban rules for these reasons.

But if you could specify in depth what you are talking about to throw light on the topic it would help more clearly to us understanding your problem and whether it's truth or not you are talking about.
1347  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: August 22, 2022, 10:05:36 AM
A bounty hunter who has changed his path to forum shitposting. After this just checked his past 10 post because all other are bounty submission only and he really seems to be some bot with lot of bugs writing his fantasy post on the forum having no meanings. For him Hardware wallet is not multi and don't know what he meant by this.

After reading this I may no longer use the words "right" and "wrong" for a while.
I still don't understand what makes people spend the time to write such utter nonsense.

(I'll report it, so you may not see the source after a short while).
You are right and after this I don't what right or wrong are literally used for  Grin The post has been deleted so thanks for cleaning up the mess on forum.
1348  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: August 20, 2022, 12:54:17 PM
You should always double check while making deposit/withdrawal as have seen many problems arising of people's carelessness and this crypto transactions is not reversible once it's confirmed on the network. It hardly takes few minutes to double check all the credentials we have entered and never be in haste as wrongly sent coins are near to impossible to recover.
1349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin art created by AI {gallery} ... and the satoshi portrait as well. on: August 20, 2022, 12:41:09 PM

I just want to try Stable Diffusion.
Anyway I am impressed with the level of complexity already available with mid journey.
I saw some cheat sheet on reddit about the various styles and codes available.
Might be interesting to build a little guide here.

They have opened up the applications for their beta || access to the users and you have to fill the form to get yourself notified when it's available and will see forward how it works.

Also have checked their GitHub Version 1 and it looks really cool and above the level of those free AI art generation tool and they are arousing my curiosity with the advancement and will really like to tweak with the codes to see how much capable they are.

We might see many more tools coming up that will really have that orginal and 4k art we see on the Unity engines from the experienced artist.

The Google has also announced their YouTube Channel to explain the people AI/ML and algorithms for the same which can be interesting topic for the people who want to have information about it.
1350  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: August 20, 2022, 12:26:43 PM

But, people who are rich would be bothered, there would be people trying to login, try to hack, try to bother them with pm's and phishing links and many other things. That's why it's not a smart idea to share who you are when you are a rich person. I hope to god that I would have that type of problem one day Cheesy. I rather be rich and scared then poor and relax Cheesy.
This is why the Rollbit 2FA features also allows you to hide your username and many big whales have done so like the Rollbit boss who has wagered over $1 billion has used this feature and is unknown. This is good move to prevent hackers trying to look into their account and as you said but sometimes they also want fame to share wins with others so it all depends on our way of gambling and handling situations.
1351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can a Jnr member post with pictures? on: August 20, 2022, 12:13:48 PM
You have already reached the junior rank now and can try posting images on the forum and don't need copper membership now.

You need to first upload the image on some image hosting site like imgbb or imgur and then copy the BBcode and then paste the link here which will be visible in the form of image in your post.

You should give it a shot to understand how it works and you must follow the links above for image readjustment to avoid posting over large size image or you can simply do the following:

Code:
[img width =200] link here [/img]

It will adjust the both width and height accordingly so you can also see it before posting by clicking on the preview button just on the side of post to see how your post will look like.It will work for you.
1352  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any Specific Boards for newbies to Make Posts/Comments? on: August 20, 2022, 12:07:54 PM
I can feel what @OP is trying to say because in the early days I have also encountered the same problem and don't want myself to engage in the high rank members discussion but the only reason behind it was not having adequate knowledge to participate in that but slowly I worked upon it and explored different boards on the forum. Now I find it interesting to involve in discussion with them and there are many newbies and low rank members also there so you don't need to worry at all.

As a newbie you are not restricted on posting in Meta section and you can ask your doubts or post in the threads about forum related discussion only. You need to find out that which board is suitable for your discussion and that's only the way or even if you have posted in the wrong board the mods will move the topic to the right one.But there are some board restrictions as newbie where you can't post and nothing else.

This is open discussion forum and you can post your content here without worrying about anything if you are into healthy discussion and your rank doesn't matter a lot and many high rank members are friendly if you are on topic can't say about all of them.So as a newbie you don't have to fear it but face it and improve your knowledge with time.
1353  Other / Meta / Re: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 08/08/2022 on: August 19, 2022, 11:06:24 AM
Another one of the WO hat gang member has reached the mark of 3400 merits and this time it's @cygan so saving his record here for future reference:

Congratulations to him for the same  Wink
1354  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit.com | Crypto's Most Rewarding Casino 👑 on: August 19, 2022, 10:57:30 AM
Sharing it will help you to record your win. It will be saved on the Internet after your sharing. If you don't share, and don't save any screenshot on your devices, you will never be able to find your past wins in future.
You have your bet slips in the account and have proof for your bet and sharing it with people is just an extra boost or promotion way for gamblers and casino. But yes it give you confidence boost whenever you win big amounts and have that curiosity to share it with others.

Rollbot NFTs have different use cases than BAYC NFTs so I don't think it is a good comparison here.
I am not comparing both of them but have said that many gamblers who have wagered over Lootboxes can choose which NFT they want as winning gift and then wager on it and some players were Lucky to get BAYC NFT worth million dollar also through it.
1355  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: August 19, 2022, 10:45:18 AM
According to Ninjastic.space you wrote exactly 352 (unless some were deleted as ninjastic space counts those too) posts during July, which makes you the 6th most active forum member in that period. In the same period I wrote only 132 posts, making me 159th most active forum member...
This is really big number of posts and appreciate you all for spending so much time on the forum writing hundred of posts within a month as usually I also make over 100 post on the forum but don't think so have gone over 300 in a single month only.So @joker_jouse is quite dedicated in this matter.I wonder who is at number one and how many posts they are making if he is at sixth place?
1356  Other / Meta / Re: Rules for my post history review offer to the community on: August 19, 2022, 10:31:55 AM
As you have said earlier also but clarifying the rules with the help of this thread will surely help the low rank members who wants to PM you for post history review. The specification of the board in which they post is certainly good because due to many spam posts in certain sections like the Altcoin board many hardly visit it so you need to check for the post in them if they have written some quality one's over there.

We have been also benefitted from your smerits in the past to rank up to the next possibile close rank on forum and many still are getting this helps but delivering them to the deserving members and making them improve their post quality by guiding them also is really good job being a source.

And and far as smerits is concerned you will somehow manage to gain them by earning some of them apart from getting it as source on monthly basis.Maybe one time your name change request is accepted by @theymos but for us @Pharmacist is well renowned one on the forum.
1357  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker tournaments why tournaments in other games on: August 19, 2022, 10:11:50 AM
If you notice there are many big tournaments for poker sponsored by exchange like FTX and other big groups as this game is really inclined up in having interest of the players and mix of strategy based experience coming from old days.If you have participated in them you know how much fun it is as in the past I have also taken part in some of the forum tournaments like on betnomi and SWC poker and it is really fun to play so this is why we see such craze for the game.
1358  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does coinbase have control of your coinbase android wallet? on: August 19, 2022, 10:02:02 AM
You just want to send over $5 in a transaction through coinbase and they ask you to fill out the form stating your purpose and all other bullshit so what kind of privacy and security you expect from them? People have been already advised not to use these centralised exchange and wallet service as they have control over your funds and will make you feel like culprit who is sending money in an illegal way so don't use it and instead opt for other good non custodial wallets like Electrum and transfer fund easily.

Coinbase has the anti-privacy reputation in the market like restricting users from making transfer, asking for all these documents and freezing some accounts with no proper information so what else do you expect from them? In the SEC filings they stated in case of any insolvency the user funds will be treated as product investment to pay off the debts so it's their money indirectly which you have deposited over with them.Take it out as soon you can to be on safe side otherwise your funds will be gone and your data leak issue still remains at high risk.
1359  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Biometrics as private key? on: August 18, 2022, 12:57:21 PM

Bad idea for a variety of reasons.

The first reason has been touched on above. Biometric scanners, be they fingerprint scanners, face scanners, eye/iris/retinal scanners, etc., do not produce the exact same image each time. They compare what they scan to the initial scan when you first set it up, and if similar enough, will unlock. "Similar enough" is not good enough for a private key. Even the slightest difference results in a different wallet and lost coins. Even if you managed to overcome this, then the second issue is that biometrics are not secure. They are not secure enough to protect a phone or a laptop; they are definitely not secure enough to protect your private key. You leave your fingerprints on everything that you touch, and they can be lifted and cloned without much difficulty. Face and eye scanners can be fooled with pictures, or with 3D prints made from pictures.

So the end result is either a private key it is near impossible to recover, or a private key which can be easily attacked.
There are some risk associated with the biometrics as you have mentioned and you are right on the part that the current technology is still in advancement stage and complete recognition is not there and they scan almost near and if it matches you are good to go.There are other problems also like what if there's skin allergy that could slightly affect your skin part and damage it so how in that case you would overcome this problem and your wallet keys will be different? In old age the fingerprint remain the same but there are chances that there could be slight change in them which could restrict us from using the wallet.

Second case is if the technology is implemented then we know how many places our biometrics are in contact with and same thing will be known by the hackers and other also that you can generate keys with the fingerprint of one person and they have different ways of copying the same like with liquid silicon and many ways to make computerised fingerprint so I aslo think it's not safe this way and should be avoided.
1360  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to disable Newbies from receiving PMs on: August 18, 2022, 12:44:37 PM
And together with the other restrictions a newbie also has, plus the possible evil fee some are seeing, it can be a disappointing experience for the genuine newbies on this forum. And a disappointing experience can make them give up and go away.
Yeah when they make an account on the forum they could be in the circle of evil fees which they need to pay in order to get themselves registered and might be the case many decide not to have an account on the forum.A newbie with no prior link to the forum would also not be able to get himself familiar with LoyceV whitelist service but many have benefited from it but the complete newbies won't be able to take advantage of it if they are having the evil fees message before registration.

So the first step is an explanatory welcome message, as Welsh said; then the extra restrictions can also be implemented. But in this order.
For sure a welcome message displaying the necessary information would help them and some threads link can also be embedded in it to guide them through forum usage and giving them forum estimate to some extent.

I still like the idea of running a newly registered user through a number of steps before completing registration, and that's when we can ask a user how to setup their account, rather than forcing these sort of options on them. For example, in this case we could ask them whether or not they want to accept personal messages by default or not, and go into the reasons why it might be useful for them to disable.
That would be better if we seek permission for them instead of putting up a complete restrictions on them as some members are familiar with the system and want to interact with the members through PM so they could do it but if there is prior setup of asking them then it would be suitable and they have the option of enable also but as you said they need to be guided through it and without they knowing about the custom features it would be not useful for them.

There are some threads helping newbie but as a newbie we can't expect from them to explore the forum completely for such threads and forum functionality as it will take time for them to understand it and protect themselves from these scams although there are some phising warning added to the forum but still they need to be familiar with it.Helping them with such a setup while registation process is much better and making them choose.
