1681  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ranking up is possible! 2900 Merits earned in less than 12 months! My 11 Hints! on: June 04, 2022, 12:12:24 PM

Yes. And I also came to understand that those who came today can pass those who were in the forum for years. There is nothing like first come first rank up. Someone registered since 2018 and still a newbie or member while someone came today and within 4 to 5 months the user is a hero member. All based on one's activeness, contributing to knowledge, educative.
This is open discussion forum where you might be a newbie when you registered on the forum and that's the title you have based on your activity, posts and merits but if we see it other way a person might be newbie on the forum but have far more knowledge than some legendary members who have this rank before the launch of merit system.

But if we see like you said newbies can surpass high rank members then there are many examples in the recent times where some users have gained merits very fast with their effective contributions to the forum and best example for it is @n0nce as you see he registered on 16th Aug 2021 or say 292 days before but he has gained 2432 merits at the time of writing up this post and selected in ChipMixer campaign which is great achievement. So the knowledge is the only thing that will help you to attain everything on the forum and IRL but if you focus on it and are dedicated enough to learn about it.

Speaking for myself then after I started learning and giving my more attention to the bitcoin my posting improved as it was reflected through post quality and then you receive merits also as you are getting but Just be on path of learning and sharing on the forum.

We have both examples daily. We continuously see new members coming to the forum and starting to contribute in their unique ways. As we see many others coming, posting a few messages and then disappearing. Others even come only to spam.
The possibilities are endless: the choice is yours.

The first category of the members learn through various post like this one of yours and have learning ability which helps them to rise on the forum and enhance their knowledge

The second category is just here for earning purposes asking for how to get merits, rank up just to join any campaign but ends up getting nothing because they are not ready to learn at all and hence when they don't get it they leave the forum as it's not fulfilling their sole purpose of earning and it's good because they were not useful in any case to forum.

But if you are having that leaning ability and are dedicated you can achieve it and you are perfect example for it.
1682  Other / Meta / Re: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 24/03/2022 on: June 04, 2022, 12:00:14 PM
From the records of Merit n0nce 2323, I caught again with a record of Merit 2400, so quickly that I got it in a few days, it seems that more n0nce will be caught picture to be saved here.
He is in merit hyperloop but this is all well deserved if you see his posts as he is quite technical and that board receive much merits so is he.So congratulations to @n0nce on getting this record fast and now 2500 is just few days/station ahead so grab it man.

edit
hugeblack 2400 merit I saved this record and if I'm not mistaken I recorded it first.
Think so because he has recently attained this 2400 merit status and nobody has saved it till here so you are first one to do so.As i said you are quite diligent in saving these records fast keeping this thread alive and keeping an eye and friendly competition with you to save these records  Grin

nice  Grin
I will say just give it some extra shot to have more nice records to be saved here and you will definitely get it like at 444 or 500 merits  Wink

1684  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: June 03, 2022, 12:03:48 PM
KYC has been a thing I disliked and forced into as well, and I dislike it and wish it never happened as well.
I don't think anyone here enjoys KYC, especially not in our "crypot space" where anonymity and independence are very important - otherwise we wouldn't be here.

Roobet has certainly not introduced KYC because they would like to have it so much, but most likely have to perform KYC in order to be allowed to operate their website at all.
I also fear that KYC will become more and more the standard. First crypto exchanges already refuse the deposit of coins from unregulated gambling platforms (or if the user can't prove where they come from).

With strict policy of these exchanges also we have already witnessed the KYC implementation even for small transactions also and yes we don't like these things as we choose crypto casinos for privacy but we can do level1 KYC and enjoy playing on Roobet. If we don't want the best option we know is to move to some other casino.
1685  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Weeks of Wealth weekly tournaments 🏆 200,000 USDT prize pool on: June 03, 2022, 11:48:50 AM
Striking partnership deals with these rappers would definitely attract lot of people as they have good influence over people on social media but their real life fan following is also crazy as he is one of the biggest South African rapper.

Talking about his influence then you could get an idea from this fact :

Quote
His Fill Up concerts (Dome, Orlando and FNB Stadiums) have made him a force to reckon with in African Hip Hop. He was the first South African artist to fill up the Dome with 20,000 people, unheard of  for a local act. His Orlando stadium concert attracted 40,000 people. His FNB Stadium concert (Dec 2nd 2017) was flocked by 68,000 fans further cementing Cassper’s influence on South African Hip Hop.

Also He is the only Hip Hop act nominated in this year’s BET Awards.

Bitcasino is making some impressive moves by appointing these rappers who can motivate people into crypto if we see it not only as gambling only.So good marketing move by them.
1686  Other / Meta / Re: [Bitcointalk Party - Discord sv] Bitcoin Pizza bake-off contest! Enter by 29 May on: June 03, 2022, 11:35:14 AM
Happy to see so many submissions here this time and members sharing the pictures make this year contest look great. Moreover @theymos is sponsoring this year's contest so appreciate him for that and @Cyrus for keeping this day alive through these events and making members participate.

I missed this year's participation as was spending time IRL and didn't get time to make own pizza at home and the real joy is with own hands and your secret recipe although couldn't have those perfect one's like many here but still participation is good.

So best wishes to all the members and waiting for results myself and will meet you all next time.

There are many possible improvements, from anonymous submission, to pictures of a slice of pizza and pictures of the making of the pizza.
I think there is no point discussing those now. We have plenty of time to discuss those before next contest.

A true Italian will always have so many ideas for the pizzas and can't beat you it and really loved your secret although well known to us pizza recipe but what's your restaurant name  Grin? How many more aspects you need us to see of you?
1687  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: MS Word vulnerability could lead to stealing your bitcoins on: June 03, 2022, 11:25:14 AM
Question!

Should I disable it even though I do not have any Microsoft office/products installed? Also, on my desktop which was primarily used for academic purposes, I have tons of word documents created in MS word, am I already compromised?

Thanks for sharing by the way!
Not really if you haven't downloaded any of the malicious file from internet that could give them access to your files but for safety reasons if you have sensative information on those documents then uninstall it as the hackers are bypassing the security protocols through this vulnerability and have full access of your system environment which could be risky.

Quote
For this reason, the recommendations it offers are radical and begin with “discontinue use of Microsoft Word” until this vulnerability is removed. They also recommend not opening files with the extensions mentioned and preferring to use PDF or work with Google Docs.

As stated in the OP, this vulnerability is not just about stealing Bitcoin but about any digital information you store on your computer - and it is known that private keys and seed should not be stored on a computer, especially not in unprotected form as plain text. At risk here are those who do not have high security standards and are negligent in most things they do - but since it is very easy to disable this attack, I see no reason why we should not prevent something bad from happening.
Which is why it's said to backup them on offline storage like metal plates and steel washers are the best option as if anything is comprised your wallets seeds are not hacked and your funds are safe on non-custodial or hardware wallets but you must be extra cautious with them also as there have been security breaches and phising attempts in them also.

Those are the ones I’ve seen explicitly referenced so far.
Yeah according to the article thes file extensions are exploiting at the time with this vulnerability but without opening the document also is much risky as you could download these malicious files by mistake but keep an eye before clicking on any link or downloading the files on system.

It seems that the password requirement for the MSDT can be bypassed by exploiting a given vulnerability.
They already have buffer in order to have the remote access of any system to make changes of which the hackers are taking advantage and without any password they are having the access of the system. These are the things they need to have look upon and need to have some security breaches be possible with having one access control point with them always.

1688  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Monthly Bitcointalk Registered Users in 2022 on: June 03, 2022, 11:02:59 AM
Appreciate your efforts and won't say you wasted your time because you put in some efforts and mind to have this list but you also come to know so many other resources which members like @DdmrDdmr has mentioned in this thread that can help you lot more while compiling these stats.

See you have collected the list from 1-18thpage of B&H section only but there are lot more in local boards and other main sections of the forum who don't contribute to different boards so you are missing them. Moreover you can't update the full stats manually to update the thread because it's time consuming while the results will also be misleading as you selection criteria is limited and not covering each section of the forum.

Like this post by @Ratimov tells us the registration till 2021 and see he has used charts to make this data and might have used https://ninjastic.space/ for fetching this data.So use them and it's good you are curious to do these things but go the right way.
1689  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: June 01, 2022, 12:31:14 PM
As it can be seen from the image they are addressing Ontario players which means they already have players from there who are enjoying their time over there so it's all available in there information page.
And the fact that Roobet addresses the regulation compliance over there should give assurance to the community, we can say that it means that Roobet will follow any regulation that is needed. If some users didn't comfortable passing the KYC level 1 which is required on here, well, unfortunately, they simply shouldn't play on here or try to figure the other way around.
This KYC Level 1 has been the issue since the change started, and I guess if you really not ok with this then go for other site since Roobet are just complying with the regulatory requirements, and for them to give quality service they should really be good on implementing this rules. Roobet is still secured anyway, so if you are worry about your personal details then I believe you should not worry that much.
The members have made it debatable topic but the Roobet team has implemented this and we can't do anything about it so arguing about it doesn't matter.I think the small gamblers community is strong and the level 1 KYC is minimal so they should be fine with it as not much documents needs to be submitted while whales have to face this issue. They have said about personal details not being shared with any third party so you can give it shot but if not feel comfortable you can try other sites that don't ask for it.
1690  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — New partnership: Cassper Nyovest 🤝 Bitcasino 🚀 on: June 01, 2022, 12:17:33 PM
Wow honestly I had no idea what happened to the 10k in BTC at the time, this is really amazing, I always wondered that too but never bothered to find out what happened to those BTC.
The most of people only talk about laszlo who spent 10k bitcoins for two pizzas which were worth $41 only at that time but there is second party also the man who received those bitcoins but he also sold them early but at really good deal for two pizzas only. After researching I found about his story also but don't know how he feel now.
1691  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Usual phishing warning on: June 01, 2022, 12:06:20 PM
That's why don't prefer chrome while making search and other privacy browser are my options like Brave and no ads appear but as we know majority uses google chrome as the main browser while making any search and you will find ads for every search you make as the first result which are phising attempts by the scammers as mentioned in @OP but people click on them.

There are some ways of blocking them on google also like @Maus0728 has mentioned by having adblocks so that no such ads are displayed to you or try to turn them off in site settings which you will find in advanced settings of chrome and then block it which might help a little bit.

I would not categorically blame Google for all mortal sins. Any mistake made when hitting a phishing site will still lie with the owner of the computer.
Yeah we can't totally blame Google for such phising attempts as we also need to take responsibility in these things before clicking on any link as our security lies in our hand and we need to be aware about it.

Even if we talk about the forum also then there are many scammers trying to make people fool through many ways like selling their fake service but members give then negative tags and others can be aware about it to stay away from it but if you are ignorant about it and still fall for these scams it's your fault. So be wise enough not to fall for these kind of things easily.
1692  Other / Meta / Re: Save your nice merit records here - LAST UPDATE: 24/03/2022 on: June 01, 2022, 11:49:44 AM
First of all congratulations to @_BlackStar for achieving unique combination of 759 merits matching it to the activity as there are only few who are able to match it.As high rank member it's really good to see the forum having some newbies who are achieving merits at fast pace giving their contributions to the forum. So best of luck to you man ahead also and pave your way up to more nice records.

So now there is one more record for CM gang member and who is quite technical in bitcoin and is ready to help members on this topic and he is @ranochigo who has 3131 merits on his profile.

This was saved few days ago but didn't get time to post it then but now doing the work.

1694  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Register on Bitcasino 🚀 100 NFTs up for grabs 🤩 on: May 31, 2022, 12:50:35 PM
Hey guys,

A new customer needs to deposit at least 50 USDT (or equivalent in other currencies) with one transaction. We will get in touch with the user for NFT wallet details within one business day. After we receive the information about the user's wallet, NFTs will be credited to the provided wallet within 72 hours.

The amount of available NFTs is limited to 100. So it's first come, first serve. No raffle Smiley
And if we detect any fraud, the player and their related accounts will be suspended from the current and any future promotions.

Cheers,
Karl
Bitcasino.io

Thanks for the clarification @Karl and this is what I was confused about that are there are any other conditions for this NFT giveaway to new players signing up on Bitcasino. This is great initiative and you will definitely see those 100 NFT's being claimed fast.

Although $50 is not too big but also not less for small gamblers but you see there is an opportunity from the team of giving them 7x worth of NFT art in their wallet as signing up gift so who's not get it? A good move to make players engaged and also connecting this NFT things with casino benefits.
1695  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Four (4) Tips On How I Handle Criticism on Bitcointalk Forum on: May 31, 2022, 12:40:12 PM
This is huge community consisting of people from various backgrounds and have different view points that clashes sometimes. We should face it and make relevant points in our talks and that can be done as said by @NeuroticFish by increasing our knowledge. We as newbies have also faced this because some members who are high rank think they have complete knowledge and the other person is newbie and don't have idea about what he's saying but as you rank up and enhance your knowledge you could shut up that trolls.

Or if you can't then ignore button is always one click ahead and you can press it without any future lagging the trolls.

It's very easy to tell which is which.

A constructive criticism would look like a normal debate message, and destructive types are generally full of insults without much arguments about the topic. You don't need a PhD in pshycology to figure that out.

Yes your can easily identify them with just a glance as one with constructive spirit will guide members by correcting their mistakes and guidance and you can see no abusive words being used but on the other side some members try to use harsh words making it look like personal grudges that some members face off which is wrong and this should be avoided.
1696  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bounties and Airdrops on: May 31, 2022, 12:29:08 PM
There are comparitavely less bounty campaign these days then 2017 as it was the peak and market burst out in ICO scams and almost all of them turned out to be scam giving only hope to participants not any money. But they are still the same as you will participate in any social media bounty work and earn some tokens that might or might not get listed on any of the exchange as the main aim of these projects is to raise funds and rug pull them.

Suppose you earn some stakes and now want to cash them but before you could do the whales will dump their coins making the liquidation zero and you will be forced to sell at minimal price which are worth zero so what's the fun of participating in them?If you have already seen the 2017 phase why still beleive in it today to earn few cents that's also not guaranteed you will get?

The section is already mentioned where you can find them above in the forum but if you say outside the forum scope then don't have an idea about it and nor trust them.See you also have some doubts in your mind regarding bounties being profitable or not and it's absolutely right as they are not.

But if you still want to participate then join through some reputed managers like @Hhampuz and some others that can make timely payments.

There is one more alternative that you learn through this forum and rank up here as everything is possible if you are willing to do it rather than wasting your time on these bounties and have bright future ahead and you will have good knowledge about bitcoin and market that can help you earn lot of better ways.
1697  Other / Meta / Re: Why do these accounts have the right to wear a clickable signature on the forum? on: May 31, 2022, 12:13:52 PM

That (campaign) rule already exists in most, if not all of the signature campaigns on the forum, such rules are established by the managers of signature campaigns cause most of them are reputable members of our community, and they want to make sure that spammers do not earn through campaigns run by them. But what of the situation of the bounty campaigns, or scam related signature campaigns, the managers of these kind of campaigns do not care, their managers are more often than not newbies, or users that haven't earned any merits themselves in a long while/ever, tagging them doesn't even make any difference to them, they still go about their business unscathed.
If you see you will find out that most of the signature campaign have the rule of having 5 earned merits in the last 120 days and there could be slight changes in some of them but most of the managers have this condition of selecting the potential members in that campaign so as to reduce the spam through that signature.

But if you look at 1xbit or 1xbet signature campaign participants you will see they all having negative tags for promoting scam campaign on the forum but still they are getting paid and they shitpost as the rule of the campaign says these tags don't matter and paying high rates to them.So these members don't care at all as they only want to earn and also getting paid for writing up shit post and this needs to be tackled seriously.

Speaking of bounty hunters then they are not posting to the forum and scope is limited to submissions only with hundred of post doing the same thing as discussed many times and it can't be solved.
1698  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcasino.io 💜 — Register on Bitcasino 🚀 100 NFTs up for grabs 🤩 on: May 30, 2022, 12:09:23 PM
So all those who are new members of the bitcasino family will receive a NFT worth 350 USDT by depositing only 50 USDT in one transaction or there are some other conditions also like betting or a raffle through which some lucky ones will get these tickets of NFT ?

But will surely share it with some IRL known one's who are into NFT space to avail these benefits if they have not joined the community and enjoy other benefits also so a really good move by the team.
1699  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: May 30, 2022, 11:55:29 AM
It’s obvious that Canadians (or in any not allowed nation) are not suppose to gamble here, which means that you should stay away and find a place that accept it. Forcing your way into this place as a Canadian opens the doors for Roobet to end up banning you and in that case you wouldn't be happy about the situation.
What is more obvious is that you are obviously wrong. According to the term of service, there is no single word that prohibits Canada to play on Roobet. The only thing that users from Canada couldn't do is to play some specific slots game which the snippet of the TnC already mentioned above and also already addressed by @Apocollapse.
Yeah I also said the same thing above that there are only few playing restrictions to the Canadian players but they can still play over the available games on Roobet. As it can be seen from the image they are addressing Ontario players which means they already have players from there who are enjoying their time over there so it's all available in there information page.

hardware wallets that provide a physical form of wallets that are lightweight and easy to carry anywhere, although it's not a dream but I need to save money to buy this wallet unlike software, which is quite the opposite. lucky you who are in the scope of the amazon market another thing that makes it easy to return and exchange if not what you want happens. Me who is in Asia may be able to complain, but time efficiency and risk on the road are taken into consideration beyond the price of a hardware wallet, of course what is sent
