Agree, but how can we help?
You guys help every day by spreading the word and keeping the record straight and we appreciate it. Some folks read the disinformation and buy into it. All I can say is give cryptsy.com a try. Excellent site. Please add more coins though agreed/\we need more and more "coins" as if it's not confusing\/enough as it is...thanks There's an option on the site to hide the coins your not interested in.

Pool reporting very low hash rates (not accurate) and is slow to update. I can see Mr Lam has moved onto the pool and after 20 mins of mining his hash rate shows 600kh/s (lol) and mine is left than half actual.

Fixed quickly by Cryptsy support!

LTC waste of time mining, What is the point to waste 4 GPU to make $3 per day?
You're completely throwing down for the most ignorant statement of the week with this! If you can only see "today", then you might have a point. I mined BTC when it was pennies each and LTC when it had ZERO value. In 6 months when those coins might be worth $100 each, it kind of changes the equation. ~BCX~ Of course your right, and its this point that the OP misses completely. Its the possibility any other alt (old or yet to come), including LTC, could be the next bitcoin, and thats why we will continue to see new coins. Thats not the point im missing, thats the point your missing... There are too many, you cannot distinguish which one will be the next success, ok, some of you will say "I know, I have been around, I can tell" ok, but the majority here will be busy mining other shit alts while the more experienced actually hop on board with the Good one. It just wont work now. Its not hard to see. The good alt gets lost in the sea of shitcoins and cannot be found by the majority to make it a success, in a nutshell. I dont think anyone can tell which alt will be the next success. Maybe there will be several - maybe there will be none. Maybe only BTC and LTC will only ever be worth anything - maybe they wont? Maybe they will plummet to earth in value and be overtaken by something else? No-one here mines an alt because they think its shit. Deep down we all believe the alt we're mining is or will be worth mining in the longer term or we wouldnt be mining it. For some thats because of what its worth on the current market, or what we think it will be worth next week, or next year. For many people here (including myself) the importance is not so much about "what I know I can make right now in today's market", but what we might make in the future. Personally, I switch between mining alts that are worth something now (and I sell or dump them to help pay my mining costs), & then I might spend some time mining an alt that you cant even trade yet...because one day it might be worth something. Sure, I could go mine LTC and make some definite $$ but thats today & now - who's to say LTC will be worth anything next week, any more so than another alt? And why should I mine LTC that might make me $20/wk now, when I can mine another alt that might be worth $100+ one day? Its all these maybe's and reasons why alt's will continue to be released. Everyone wants to be an early adopter of a coin that becomes worth something one day & is why new coins will continue to be released, and people will continue to mine them - even at a loss.

The other point is why have people felt the need to create these alt coins. The answer is quite obvious - the difficulty of BTC forces centralisation and with the likes of ASICMiner who seem to know no limits to their greed are making it impossible for the common man to make any money at all. ASICMiner are incapable of maintaining a steady hash rate with massive fluctuations to the magnitude of 30Ths - no money has been spent on resilience or redundancy otherwise we would not see the erratic network performance just further indicating their commitment to filling their own pockets at the expense of everyone else.
To top off the fact the totally incompetent manner the ASIC technology has been rolled out giving a select few a massive advantage over everyone else just furthers the resentment.
What is the difference of having central banks - a monopoly on printing money versus several massive centralised mining operations who have a monopoly on generating BTC. AKA Meet the new boss - same as the old Boss. (I realise there is a technical difference in the way they operate - but to the man on the street - there is none)
Look at the most profitable coins - they are all scrypt for the simple reason the current generation of ASIC's do not work for scrypt mining and the community has decided that a level playing field (hardware that can be purchased next day) is preferable to specialist technology that is almost impossible to get hold of.
You make a very good point. I suspect also that if ASIC's are eventually made to scrypt mine, the methodology of mining will change accordingly. Its always going to be a game of cat & mouse I suspect.

now is { "blocks" : 355, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.50147301, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 44400828, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false }
could be some initial instamine smooth out?
Yup, its smoothing out now 15:29:33  { "blocks" : 355, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.50147301, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 44400828, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false } 15:35:10  getmininginfo 15:35:10  { "blocks" : 355, "currentblocksize" : 1000, "currentblocktx" : 0, "difficulty" : 0.50147301, "errors" : "", "generate" : false, "genproclimit" : -1, "hashespersec" : 0, "networkhashps" : 44400828, "pooledtx" : 0, "testnet" : false }

Everyone is trying to make their own coin because they want to profit and get rich off it. However, this doesn't look like the case anymore and it's hurting the alternative currency movement badly. All the developers are making shit coins instead of rallying behind one coin. Our chances of beating Bitcoin are becoming more slim as each day passes by.
there are two good coins that will be released shortly. one next week and one in early july Which ones?

why litecoin? And why is it a waste if some mining it are making BTC (usually much more than they'd make trying to mine BTC directly) via exchange, if that is their goal in mining a coin?
Im saying, its not a bad thing to have an alt community, Mine LTC, Yes of course, more should be mining BTC, or buying BTC, but it should be those two coins... if we all did that, supported it, and PUT AS MUCH EFFORT INTO GROWING BTC AND LTC FURTHER ACROSS THE WORLD AS YOU ALL DO IN MINING AND PROMOTING ALTS THAT DIE THE NEXT DAY, we would all make a lot more money. How heavily are you invested in LTC?
