2361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token burning on: May 05, 2020, 08:52:01 PM
Many shitcoins try burns and swaps to decrease the number of coins in circulation.

A nice example of this is BTK (bitcoin turbo koin) which is a total shitcoin that did just that and still failed. After their swap the coins became worth more per coin but if you held and went through the swap you still lost and had coins worth less fiat money overall.

Increasing the value of each coin did not make people buy it. The majority kept dumping.
2362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin halving make cryptocurrencies reach all time high again? on: May 05, 2020, 12:02:29 AM
I think the more expectations, the lower results. Now everyone is waiting for huge impact on prices while these expectations may be already included in the current rates. Then, pandemic and crisis also play their role in the upcoming changing or not changing btc course.

There's also a possibility that they aren't priced in.

If you think about it the price was at 14000 almost a year before the halving. It later stayed at 9000 for a long time and only the stock market crash last month made it fall beck below 5000. This means that the price we are back at now is the normal price that we had for many months. A price that should be higher after the halving!
2363  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Leaving Bitcoin as inheritance on: May 04, 2020, 11:39:16 PM
I think that you can easily include your password in your last will somewhere and keep the will locked. Don't tell your family that you have Bitcoins.
Usually people don't read last wills of their family members before their death.

You can also write it on the property deed. They won't have the need for that before your death, but they will need it to transfer ownership of your home to them and then they'll find it.

You can also tell them and divide the password among all of them, telling each of your loved ones a part of the phrase. They will have to come together to be able to share the coins when you die which means none of them will be left behind.
2364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Help me to withdraw my Coins. on: May 03, 2020, 09:57:32 PM
If they deny your win and say the game never happened just find a proof that it did. It can be in some sport statistics or a newspaper or even at a team's webpage.

If they still keep saying that it did not happen despite proof come back here and publish all the conversation between you and their support along with the proof and we'll take a look at it.

You will also be able to start a scam accusation thread on the forum, but get some proof first to avoid going back and forth with this.
2365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this period killed your desire or exited it on: May 03, 2020, 09:52:36 PM
we really have to change...
I see that interest in e-sports increased during this epidemic, but for those over 40 who prefer traditional sports it will be difficult to adapt to this change. Traditional gamblers are definitely surprised by this change but they must follow this because until now the traditional sports competition did not know how long it will start again.

Don't say that all people over 40 prefer traditional sports. Counterstrike and quake tournaments were a real thing 20 years ago, not to mention starcraft, which was one of the bigest things in esports for the last 25 years or so.  There are 40 year old players among us, don't count them out.

I lost some interest during the pandemic because I couldn't enjoy watching matches with friends. Doing it alone takes away a lot of fun.
2366  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: All your entertainment things must have an external limiting feature, agree? on: May 03, 2020, 09:43:06 PM
What OP has come up with would be very difficult to make because how would a casino make a gambler stop? Would it be fair?

You say that they shouldn't allow him to continue but what if he's during a winning streak? He'd be able to sue the casino for stopping him from winning more.
Also it wouldn't be fair to set time limits because what would they be? 6 hours? 4 hours? How would you find the best option between allowing people to have enough fun but not too much of it?
2367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much crypto do you need ? on: May 03, 2020, 09:37:16 PM
I need as much as you can give me OP Wink

But really, there's no upper limit. When you have 1 Bitcoin you wantto have 2. When you have 20 you want 30.

Our brains are wired this way. Some call it greed others call it ambition Cool

2368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be the ideal currency of the future? on: May 03, 2020, 09:29:07 PM
What does the fact that governments cooperate have to do with NSA and their alleged creation of Bitcoin?

My point is that saying that Bitcoin was created by the NSA not only gives too much credit to the NSA but also puts USA on the podium as the country of origin. Even this was never proven!

Also, the agency has no jurisdiction outside the US and as it happens, most of the world is outside of the US and most people do not care what the NSA does.

My point is that the ideal currency must include privacy. This prevents any agency or individual from tracking payments on the ledger.

The banking system has now hijacked this project and crippled its core features. I do think it will make an excellent tracking system and settlement layer for its new controllers.

But it's certainly not, and never can be the ideal currency.

We either lean more towards privacy or transparency. No side is better than the other! The coins that are completely private also don't allow others to see that you're paying and that you are in a good financial condition. As an employer you might actually seek a coin with such features.

Bank accounts are private to the point that you don't know your bank is insolvent until you actually cannot withdraw money anymore.

Botcoin is transparent but can also be private as long as every company out there does not begin to enforce AML rules and ask you to send them a selfie with the current date.

And we arrive at the next question. Should Bitcoin be blamed for lack of some anti-KYC features?

2369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good time to buy some alt? on: May 03, 2020, 09:10:41 PM
In my opinion No, BTC halving is near. So we can expect some pump in BTC. As usual, if BTC pump all Alt dump! (BTC pair) So i think this is not the right time. Wait and watch the market before taking your decision.

Again the same suicidal attitude. Think about it, the majority never wins. If all of you keep thinking that halving will make you rich you're wrong. Most halvings were followed by short -term drops in price.

Also, if Bitcoin really pumps like crazy in a very short time like 3 days people will start dumping altcoins to join the pump so in the short term you'll lose unless you buy one of the top 10 coins because those will follow Bitcoin but then why not choose to risk less and buy Bitcoin?
2370  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: It seems like it's the end for bounties on: May 03, 2020, 09:01:16 PM
Another topic to complain about bounties. I've already answered similar ones in a similar way.

Companies who launch scam bounties are to blame but hunters are the main reason they do it because you people will gobble up any story ad go work for anybody. They can offer you payment in unknown token saying it will get listed somewhere one day and you still accept it and keep on working.

The only way for this to stop is for you to start demanding payments in existing, listed coins and demand escrow.
2371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next movement in the market on: May 03, 2020, 08:51:45 PM
I'm a bit bearish short term and think that we won't explode at Bitcoin's halving like most people think.

Crypto market likes to do what's most unexpected and the situation reminds me of when we were waiting for bakkt and the market to rise when they launch but when that happened the market actually fell.

Now everybody is waiting for the halving thinking this is the way to make money. Buy before the halving and sell after. The market is going to put it to the test.
2372  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum prices may touch $250 soon so hodl on to them on: May 03, 2020, 08:44:50 PM
ETH had a small pullback and I don't see it going up right now as long as bitcoin is still held by that downward channel at 9000.

We'll see new highs for altcoins only when bitcoin returns above 10 thousand. A lack of a bullish confirmation from the nr1 coin is what is holding back the whole market.
2373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin be the ideal currency of the future? on: May 02, 2020, 10:00:30 PM
This is an obvious NO. Just as horse and carriages are not ideal modes of transportation.

An ideal currency must be like cash and allow the user privacy. Bitcoin does not, and will never, have this ability.

Bitcoin is transparent but it's also private.

Bitcoin is not private. The NSA created it with the intent purpose of tracking payments globally.

So you're one of those conspiracy theorists  Roll Eyes

Does it really matter if the NSA, an institution with no global jurisdiction, finds out that someone from Austria sent some money to someone in Russia? What are they going to do with that information, not knowing what the payment was for?

Do you not think that governments cooperate? I think you might want to rethink your ideas if that's your definition of privacy and freedom.

2374  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When to buy - question to Hodlers on: May 02, 2020, 09:47:33 PM
I buy when I have some spare cash lying around and always look at percentage drops.
When price drops by 10% I don't even care. This is a no trade zone for me.

When it drops by 30% is where I start to wake up and watch it. Might buy if I already have money on an exchange like I did when it droppwd from 9000 to 6000 last month.

A 50% drop is a sure buy for me. I'll even borrow money to buy at this point.
2375  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: About selling Bitcoin (Btc) for profit on: May 02, 2020, 09:37:59 PM
There's also another angle to OTC trading. All transactions are done anonymously and you're not getting tied to an exchange. They could tell you that they do not hold, but if they're offering normal exchange rates they have to be selling on some exchange where the price is higher or hold for a while and then sell for profit.

The traders also may need clean coins to do trades on TOR markets.

I know a trader who trades in person for cash but he charges 2% on every transaction.

2376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will another altcoin rise to overtaken Bitcoin? on: May 02, 2020, 09:25:57 PM
if you discuss about cryptocurrency that can be hacked then all cryptocurrency currently available have the potential to be hacked and everything can be drained so everything in cryptocurrency is indeed not safe, therefore cryptocurrency has a very high risk.

Not all cryptocurrency use the same encryption and blockchain as bitcoin so a failure of Bitcoin doesn't mean a failure of the whole ecosystem.

We would be starting from scratch because the trust in crypto would be undermined but it would not be the end.

A hack is only an example. We were very close to Bitcoin being called a failure when it bottlenecked and it costed $100 to send a fast transaction. The rest was pending for hours and even days. Something like that could make another coin look attractive like it made BCH look attractive for a few months.
2377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will another altcoin rise to overtaken Bitcoin? on: May 02, 2020, 08:55:56 PM
there is no altcoin that can overtake or even replace bitcoin now or in the future, bitcoin has a very large dominance. If bitcoin is replaced it means it's the beginning of the destruction of cryptocurrency
That's right, I totally agree with this statement that you said, because the average Altcoin is based on an existing system and even looks at examples in Bitcoin, so it's clear that any coin won't be able to replace Bitcoin at any time.

We're not talking about an average altcoin here. There is a possibility that an altcoin completely different from Bitcoin will offer people something that will push it to become a mainstream currency.

For that to happen Bitcoin wil have to fail first and become hackable or too slow and outdated. I wouldn't expect something like that to happen in the next 5 years but it's possible. We're talking general terms not here and now.
2378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Market stability is not ascertain. We might fall again on: May 02, 2020, 08:33:02 PM
Anything can still happen, Cov-19 is not over yet but I'm glad some countries are recovering, this means HOPE, the present uptrend is happening because of the FOMO surrounding the upcoming bitcoin halving, dumps will still happen after the halving, better take profits while you can
Yes, that's right, it's better to take profits while you still can, because it is feared that after the completion of Halving there will be another decline happening in the market, so it is better to use the opportunities that still exist, rather than later regret.

So that's how scared cats think Wink Now I know why the prices are rising so slow. It's because people are scared that it might fall again which is ridiculous because if everybody keep thinking that it might fall it will not and only a few bold investors will make money.

That's how it always is in this market. When the majority thinks we are in bull we are already turning to bear and when the majority is scared to invest thinking it's still bear it's in fact already bull.

Think about it!
2379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do they say that you should not use the same BTC address over time? on: May 02, 2020, 08:23:00 PM
Security-wise, it is a non-trivial factor but it does help to eliminate attacks against your address using your public key if quantum computing becomes strong enough.

Quantum computing is a joke at this stage and It won't become a threat for Bitcoin for years to come.

Your other points are of course relevant and chain analysis is already in use by government agencies. It's best to make a new address for each payment that you receive and avoid outputs to places with KYC that could link your identity to your wallet.
2380  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MY BLOCKCHAIN WALLET WAS STOLEN 0.39070099 BTC !!! on: May 02, 2020, 07:48:35 PM
Please help!
It's more than 72hours now I made a btc withdrawal on Cex.io and I'm yet to get the coin in the receiving wallet. The said coin is no more in the cex account balance, no btc in the receiving wallet and no record of the transaction on blockchain network. I have messaged Cex support team more than 19 times and no response whatsoever.

What could be the problem ? has anyone experienced this before.

#bitcoin
#cex.io

First of all, you wrote 19 messages to Cex support in 72 hours? They must hate you already. Cheesy

Most exchanges have their api linked to the wallet.

If the database doesn't connect because the wallet is offline or there's no connection between the main server and the machine with the wallet it will send a request but the transaction will not be sent to the network. This may be the reason why coins disappeared from your wallet but are not in the blockchain.

It's a problem of cex support and the coins must still be in their wallet.
