Obviously newbies aren't coming to sell BTC because they don't even own BTC yet. Anyone new to the market can only possibly be there to buy.
LOL, I've been on Gox since before the '11 crash and I'm still not verified. I still won't trade on Gox, I've moved on. Though I do still hold some BTC there. Buy, of course. They absolutely need to get their shit together first, but I'd like to see them get Litecoin going by the summer. They're going to be overtaken by some other company quite quickly if they don't. The market has a demand for multiple coins.

+1. Without litecoins, they are forcing me to go back to fiat if I want to get out of the bitcoin game for a little bit while things cool off. On BTC-e, I can swap into litecoins, wait, then get back into bitcoins when i'm ready. That's only one of the benefits of having altcoins, it needs to happen on Gox.sounds like a desperate attempt to cling onto a monopoly founded in fear of a technologically advanced crypto-currency.

There is a link floating that shows mtgox having litecoin api page. Not sure about that Twitter, anyone can setup account there but api page shows that they have plan to do it at some time.
Not sure it is good idea tbh, it will only confuse people who are just getting familiar with bitcoin, they don't need another WTF moment.

Up until the weekend, BTC had hit a few days of relative stability.
Everyone got bored -- wanted something to trade.
"Heyyy, these altcoins are cheap...and I can buy so many with just a few BTC"
Crazy runs on all the altcoins proceeded.
When Bitcoin volatility and growth resumed, everyone wanted back in on the cash cow. Who wants to stick with an unproven competitor when the workhorse is moving full steam ahead, right?
Once BTC settles down again, the AltCoins will have another resurgence.
Really because LTC has remained stable and actually has risen today. Hm... should be a tip off for even the dumbest investor. |
