Are translations still needed? I could do the Dutch translation for the announcement/website if necessary.

Securities are a serious thing. Ethereum has been having legal problems as it's based in Ontario (IIRC) and they have very strict laws when it comes to securities, crowd funding, et al.
The law is such is that coin developers have to remain anonymous, unless it's Ripple style premine. No legal issues in selling magical coins but the law comes down hard when it resembles securities and funding.
I think you are right here! If you quack like an IPO, and waddle like an IPO ... Doesn't matter what the fine print says, NEM took payment and will deliver tokens. If a securities regulator used a common sense approach they would *probably* argue that NEM had an IPO. When a business displays a sign like 'all care taken but no responsibility accepted' it is meaningless. If the law says you are responsible, that's the law, and displaying a sign that says otherwise wont save you in a court of law. UtopianFuture is better off now that he is 'retired'. This is a communal association. There was and is no company. If you collect money in the church for something good and there is no promise of return are you telling me it is an IPO? There was no promise of return. Cryptos were raised for a common cause and about >2800 participants (socks or not) voluntarily put their faith on it that it will come into fruition for a new movement and not with a promise of profit. That is the difference. devs on their own say its IPO dude ~CfA~ Nope, the devs have said all along that is was a call of participation.

Everyone thank you for correcting me. There have been many complains considering one of the coins listed above. I have updated the thread (blue parahraph) and removed mentioned coin from the list. Changes are always welcome, and if you feel like correcting me, don't hesitate to do that.
All best, and cya next monday!
Props to you for realising and fixing a mistake! Anyway, aside from the fact that some coins might not be intended as scams I think it's great to raise some awareness about all the shit coins which are being launched.

Where is the link for test it?
The open alpha will start on the 25th! We're currently in a closed alpha phase. I hope to see you testing from the 25th onwards

NEM and scam ?? Better investigate before calling someone a scammer
Oh shame, you also got PM'd by one of there PR people to buy into the coin and become a voice for it on BTCtalk. NEM is a well put together scam but still a scam. Explain me how you calling NEM a scam? 1 stake from the start was worth 35USD and now its worth more than 1600USD. You missed the IPO ? ahh bad for you. So show me the volume for these stakes at 1600 USD? Also price has nothing to do with it being a scam or not , like I said it's a well put together scam. so you dont know about NXT Asset Exchange , wait 2 Days and you will see the Alpha too I do Volumes are terribly poor and as such extreme price fluctuations can take place. How can you call something a scam based on the trading volume of a certain exchange.. My god people are really trying everything to drag a coin down these days. The fact is the closed alpha is out atm. and quite a few people are testing it and it's working like a charm. the developers are working on it full-time and are already busy implenting our other suggestions. I'd say you should wait untill the 25th/26th and test the alpha yourself untill you call it a scam.

Does anybody know which features can be tested in the alpha? Is it only send / receive (funds and messages)? what about the Asset exchange? Also I am sure I saw on the first fundraising thread that there could be an auction based exchange? Is that still the case? I would really love to use that instead of ebay.
AFAIK The excact details on the auction aren't published yet. Regarding the Alpha Version. You'll be able to test POI (Proof of Importance), Encrypted message sending through transactions, Incomming and outgoing transactions, multiple adresses on a single account, Running your local node and see how the interactive client works

|
|
Letīs talk about in 3 days. Maybe you will change your opinion when you see how the alpha works. A storm is coming. I think we need a real competitor to NXT, so the devs keep on working As an Aplha tester I can tell you the client and POI is working like a charm! Stay tuned for the 25th!

It's look NEMastic!!! Enjoy NEM! NEM OPEN ALPHA LAUNCH IS SCHEDULED FOR 25th JUNE 2014 Why such a big current balance. There must be 1 ... 2.... million? Or not? This is closed Alpha testing. We're only testing it with about 20-30 people so everyone got very large amounts of NEM.

Got to say, the Alpha client looks awesome! I'm testing right now

Finally I got the answers I was looking for... Thank you very much!!! Last questions: 2 weeks after the official launch you will be able to claim this stake by sending it back to the account which created this asset and he'll send the correct amount to your NEM account. When is the expected launch? How will I send it back to the account which created the asset? Where do I find this account? How long will I have to claim my NEM coins? What happen if I am on holidays and I don't claim them on time? Appologies but I am IT newbie and trying to learn all these... Again thank you very much! The specific information about this process isn't released yet afaik. and neither is the official release date but it's probably going to be around august/september. The closed alpha is scheduled for sunday/monday and the open alpha on the 25th (iirc). As soon as the specific information about how to claim your token is released I'm sure there will be a detailed guide which everyone can understand about how to claim your NEM Hope this answers your questions!

I have already asked 3 times the same questions in different threads with no clear answers of what is happening and this is not helping the average Joe to get on board... People always redirect me to other discussions of NEM (much appreciated by the way) but why no one is giving me a straight answer without redirect me to some other thread?
So I will ask again...
1. If a buy a NEM stake from NXT AE what exactly do I need to do to claim my NEM coins and get on the stakeholders list and by when?
2. I understand that buying a NEM stake from AE I am buying a token but it is actually now controlled by UF who might run away and basically end up with an asset with no value?
Thanks
Hi! Let's see. 1. If I understood correctly you won't be on the stakeholders list. You'd have a token which represents 1 (or any other amount) stake. 2 weeks after the official launch you will be able to claim this stake by sending it back to the account which created this asset and he'll send the correct amount to your NEM account. 2. Yes, you will be buying a placeholder token but no, this account isn't in possession of UF anymore. Pastmast3r has the account now.

I know it is sometimes difficult to think in the round about these things, and that people quite rightly have a psychological aversion to 'destruction', but isn't option 1 (destruction) just a very simple and elegant way of implementing option 3 (distribution to all stakeholders)?
That's exactly how I see it. I'm also leaning towards destroying them. On the other hand I'm not entirely certain that a single NEM will become inevitably more valuable as it becomes more rare. I'd say use the funds to attract more people to the core team. Hire professional designers, create a marketing commitee, use it to create a complete branding kit, use it to make certain people able to attend events etc etc etc. Destroying would just be a waste IMO. and giving them away for free to people outside the crypto-community for free would be a bigger mistake as these people would just dump them immediately for som quick cash anyway (which was what happend to auroracoin).

A decentralized money has no leader. UF does not code and has no thing to do with the core blockchain. If BCNext with his shady IPO is not a blocker, UF issue is certainly not a problem. The guy has one sock account, pretty mild issue.
Actually in his words he said he had "a few." But I can live with that. The main problem for NEM is it doesn't exist yet. Once it exists then you can honestly compare it to NXT. He said he made a few account but there is a only one active account. Haha yea sure Gonna create 10 accounts, buy 10 stakes and use only 1 Don't comment if you don't know the facts. Those accounts were created and registered in the phase where registering for a stake was still free. Later when the stake-list was created these accounts weren't added. The accounts were just used to create activity in the thread, something which every coin does.

2) long term/high impact marketing(this is what ethereum is doing): Besides that, one of the most important things we could do for NEM in the long term is find one or more persons which should be "the faces" of NEM at conferences, interviews, and do what Vitalik Butering does for Etherium, capturing the imagination of technical people and intelligentsia by kindling intelligent discussions and intellectual experiments regarding how NEM works, what we can and could do with it, what problems of previous coins we solve, etc. This is the highest point we need to target, which if we do correctly, will overflow and bring news about NEM into all other sub-layers of society.
I guess it has to come from the core team. One needs to be technically savvy too as often this person will need to defend the design as a good crypto worthy of use AND cause. What would you say makoto1337? I would say that UP would be a great public face for NEM in a similar way to Satoshi Nakamoto being the public face of BTC. Although he (or they) contributed a lot to the community, it was said that he also stashed away a big part of the BTC. So, is UP going to do the same? Ofcourse he's (or they) got a lot of BTC, he's believed in his own project from the start and thus started mining in the very beginning ( and thus has a very large amount of BTC now). I wouldn't call that stashing away alot of BTC. But yes, the developers have 25% of the NEM available to pay their own hours and people that are willing to help the project before/after the launch.

just curious what kind of ressource do you need to get 500curecoins per day with folding at home ?
Something like scrypt 100 MH/s False. Scrypt isn't used for this cryptocurrency. 500 coins a day means 6.7% of all the coins released in a day 14.8 million points per day. A single quad 780 ti rig could get 1 million points per day (slightly less) so you would need 15 of these. I meant the hardware needed to get 100 MH/s with scrypt... But actually i was way off, AMD-wise it should be 30 R9 280x You're way off, a single R9 280x gets around 120k ppd on avarage, which would mean you'll need around 120 to get 14.8 million ppd 290x gets close to 200k, 290 can do 170k, 780ti can get in spitting distance of 300k PPD with the right project. I get 600k+ PPD out of a 4x 290 rig, 450k+ out of a 2x 780ti rig, 450k+ PPD out of a 4x 280x rig, and about 280k PPD out of a 4x 270 (non-x) rig. About 2.1 million PPD for all my rigs (290 rig, 280x rig, 780ti rig, and two 270 rigs), according to the FaH client (all rigs added to the client via remote), and that matches really damn close to my actual PPD by the time you factor time lost for new work and the odd glitch. On scrypt, that combo of rigs is about 11mhs, just to put it in perspective. And on my best day that earned me 67 coins. So those guys pulling down 400-500 are throwing some serious hash (er, folding) power at Curecoin. Probably not using GPU's but servers instead like the ones mentioned in this guide: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=604172 (Or their own servers obviously)

Hi. So far I've completed 6 WUs for the Curecoin F@H team. I haven't been credited with any coins. It's been over 24 hours since I completed my first WU. My cryptobullionpools account has exactly the same user name as my Curecoin F@H account including the right capitalization. I created this account just before I started folding. Is something wrong or should I wait more?
Make DAMN SURE you have the proper team entered. Not on the Curecoin team (224497) , you're just charity folding. You should wait atleast 1 more day, my first points started to show up after about 48-72 hours.
