Some interesting news : https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/ongoing-ddos-attack-on-masternode-network.13468/

Quote
Dear community,

We have an ongoing attack on masternode network for about 3 hours now. The attack is a mix of SYN flood, UDP flood with empty payload and protocols like sFlow and GRE. So far the only result attacker was able to achieve is that he caused higher CPU and bandwidth usage for most of masternodes which in its turn cased ~100 of masternodes to go down. We believe these masternodes were hosted on extremely low end VPS, like $1/mo, so it's not that surprising to see some of them down now. We encourage all masternode owners whose nodes were affected to move to a better hardware or upgrade their hosting plan to ensure that your masternode doesn't fall out of payment queue during such events.

Meanwhile, you can mitigate the attack by following steps in iptables setup part of this guide https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/how-to-set-up-ec2-t1-micro-ubuntu-for-masternode-part-2-3.241/

I guess this was bound to happen. To all masternode owners : Make sure the specs for your masternodes are up to the task : https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DOC/Updating+to+12.1+-+Masternodes#Updatingto12.1-Masternodes-HardwareRequirements

Mine are fine Smiley  Is this our first "attack"?  Guess they gotta try harder Cheesy  LOL, I hope it's costing them big bucks Smiley  Though, on the other hand, this is good stuff, we need to be attacked now, while the system is young.

   That's exactly what you want.  Think of it as free testing...  Smiley

   That was a very good neutral account of Dash.  Of course he is slightly skewed toward Dash.  But he does bring up his personal concerns.   I hope someone in the dash higher up takes notice.

This game looks like it was made by some computer science majors in the early 90's.

This was a good PND, but you have to see the reality that nobody is going to develop a popular game without getting paid.

   I guess you have a problem with reading comprehension.  They got paid.

Sry, I ment this:
I like what toknormal said awhile back, and have been turning it over in my mind. The summarized version is:

Monero is essentially maxed-out. Their sole value proposition is that you can buy illegal shit with their coin, and by being accepted on all the major darknet markets, they've essentially achieved their growth objectives. I honestly congratulate them--2600% growth in the last year is truly stunning--but there isn't much further they can go.

The good news is that Dash has not aligned itself with any single use case. People can use our product for a staggering array of reasons: privacy, instant transactions, a solid governance model, a two-tier incentivized network, a treasury system that is funding continuous development...

So congrats to the Monero team on the result of all their hard work. Now I'll watch them hang out in the $200 million market cap range while we continue to climb.

Care to make an escrowed bet (Ognasty/Blazed could be options as an escrow) that by the end of year Monero will have outperformed Dash from now (Feb 17th, 2017) until Dec 31st 2017?

XMR = 0.01257 BTC
DASH = 0.01909 BTC

Bet amount = 1 BITCOIN

We can have the proceeds of the bet sent to a charity of our choice once the wager is done.

If you win, my part of the wager goes to the charity of your choice.

If I win, your part of the wager goes back to the charity of my choice.

In either case the winner keeps their original bet amount.

Let me know.

Smoothie, whwere are you?

Doesn't that bet entail Dash has to be ahead of Monero at the end of 2017? seems like we are calling the game short considering we are in February. Or does that bet mean Monero has to always outperform dash throughout the whole year? Which if that is the case....kind of a stupid bet for him to make.

   Maybe they invoked the mercy rule.

i'm thinking a week before we climb another rank on coinmarketcap, maybe even less.

Do you know how many dash are mined per day?
how many Moanero?

Dash = 2246
Monero = 6213 *

* doesn't include any secret coins, that no one knows about, because the block explorer doesn't show the output values...  Smiley
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XVG] Verge - Speculation & Discussion on: February 21, 2017, 01:01:21 PM
Yikes just looked at the price and we have 3.44 BTC buy orders at 2 Sat and the sell has stacked up all the way to 9 BTC at 3 Sat.  Looks like we are going to go below 2 Sats and back to 1.  Wow didn't think this would happen.  Really if this coin is the best like our dev says, we need to have someone on the marketing side get this out there.  We won't move this price at all if there isn't any marketing behind this.  We will stay at these levels until that happens and people actually know about this coin.  And I mean the masses of people, not the 50-100 that do today.  Dev maybe you should plan on giving away so coins to someone that would market it and take it to the masses.  Set them up with some coins or something to have them get our coin out to the masses.  Again as we have all said before, until this happens we won't move out of these levels.  Crazy and we need some to take a hold of this coin and idea and get it all over the place....just thoughts on what needs to be done to move this at all.  The sell orders are getting way to big that it doesn't appear we will ever move even over 5 sat anytime again!!  So sad   Cry Cry

    As far as marketing goes it's up to us to market this coin.   The dev made as much from this coin as you and I  ZERO...   He mined some and bought some I'm sure, maybe folks sent him some, but there was no pre-mine or ICO for this.  It's here because of his talent.

    So....   Not being a marketing type.  How do you get interest in this coin?  I've got it in my sig,  If anyone has any idea's I'm open to making a donation to get things moving.

I did a full preview of Beyond the Void on NewsBTC as part of a series about blockchain gaming: http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/02/05/blockchain-gaming-btv/

You can see it listed on my website at http://www.blockchaingaming.com/

Nice one! We're gonna need more of these to promote the game and send NXC to the moon Wink

Who knows, maybe there will be. Wink We're having a Beyond the Void guy on the blockchain gaming panel at CoinFest 2017, and they'll have a major presence at the Manchester event. They should help me set the game up in Vancouver and elsewhere, though; that would be cool

Soon we will see a lot of publicity for Beyond the Void, exhibitions, reviews, a lot of new video. This should attract more attention to the game and the online store and increase the flow of investments in this project. The NXC price is very stable and will grow over time, it is a good investment.

     Agreed, and I'll even go so far as to say, people will look back and say oh, I should have bought more at 6K sat, that was cheap....   I don't think we'll see sub 5K again.

It is sub 5 right now, incase you want some more!
   Not low enough yet.  I've got quiet a few already.  You know sub 5K means under 5000, right.  Like 4999?  not 5999.   Smiley

^well they have been selling "CLAMs" on their exchange if i were doog i'd be seriously alarmed! Where do i go for help? :\

Sorry to hear that you've have problems with an exchange.
This won't help you in your current situation, but it is an important (and recently posted in this thread) lesson to understand:

Due to privacy and best practices I highly doubt (and hope) yobit would not communicate with dooglus or I, or anyone else, concerning your problem.
There is simply nothing that can be done beyond contacting their support and hoping that they are willing to return your CLAM.

They hold the keys; therefore it is their CLAM - until they choose to give it back to you.

Best of luck in getting your CLAM.

^look this is your coin and if you cannot even reach the exchange i recommend telling them to take your gambling token coin off the exchange...do you need me to do your job for you? i will and you will be looking hella stupid!! :\ AND YES I WILL WANT THE BUG REPORTING BOUNTY!!!!

gembitz: Bitcoin and altcoins like CLAM are decentralised currencies. The developers of such coins (mostly) do not have any control over funds or transactions; they just release clients that allow you to participate in the network. In general, all confirmed transactions are final, and cannot be reversed, or changed in any way. This is by design; there is no central body that can arbitrate or reverse transactions. This is not Paypal.

You've sent funds to another party, therefore they "own" those funds. Your account at yobit is just an entry in their database which says you have a balance of X CLAMS, but as far as the network is concerned, you sent those funds to yobit, so yobit owns those funds. You need to sort that out with them - no one else has any power to compel them to do anything...

^fool i sent from yobit to doogs site...i'm not a n00bie~ i'm telling you there was ZERO CONFIRMS! Something is wrong with your coin or exchange is wallet is messed up! YES I JUST REPORTED A "BUG" :-D

Do you have a transaction ID?

A nice list for what free download games for those who don't understand why this coin, and BTV could turn into something incredible.

Valve - CS GO, DOTA 1.5 Billion
Riot games - leauge of legends - 1.6 billion
King - CandyCrush - sold to Billzard for 5.9 billion
Rovio - Angry Birds - Recently rejected an offer for 2.25 billion
Kim kardashians game app - 200 million in revenue
Subway surfer developed by SYBO games - daily revenue $10K

Nice list! I think that Supercell is worth mentioning too (Clash of Clans developer). Last summer Chinese giant Tencent Holdings bought 84% stake in Supercell for $8.6 billion, which means that the whole company was worth $10.2 billion at the time. Not bad, huh?)

I am not familiar with all these games.  It would be interesting to see the revenue of each one of them and then see for how much they sold for those that sold.  I would bet that for some of those, sale prices relate less to revenue than to data obtained and network effect.
Compared to blockchain based games, how much games such as BtV the company or EDS sell won't matter to any of us as asset holders.  How much revenue BtV is making doesn't affect us either.  Only network effect matters to drive the price of our assets up in addition to assets' specification and cross game acceptance.  This is also assuming that BtV or EDS won't close door and shut down the game.  So far Huntercoin is the only fully decentralized game that cannot be shutdown.  I hope that future games will strive towards this goal.

The revenue runs through Nexium, you need it to use the market i.e. buying the skins and upgrades, every purchase is made with nexium.

Right, and half of each nexium used for the revenue will be sold on the market for bitcoins.  That creates a downward pressure on nexium price.

Where do you see that?
i thought, that 50% nxc after each trade in game market shoul disappear, but not sell at markets for bitcoin.

  50% will be burned.  The question is where will the other 50% go.  But even if they get sold for BTC, they came from BTC anyway, someone would have to "get" them to be able to spend them.

Very possible, all it takes is for few big big players to get word and (new name) will probably go parabolic 😂

Sorry but this will be the first altcoin with actual business adoption when all things come into play. I think everybody would want to hop on the rocket when the info is released.

Have the Developers elaborated on when we can see this released into the real world?

As stated above, It's in Alpha testing now.  My guess is 2nd - 3rd qtr 2017.  That is just a guess based on a few previous posts.

Who will be first to adopt this?

Can't say due to an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement).

Seems strange to me that anyone would go to the cost of adopting anything that is unproven.

   Someone has to be the first.  Ask Henry Ford why he would try using the assembly line....  Tongue
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀[ANN] Nexium [NXC]- Beyond the Void: First blockchain RTS on: February 01, 2017, 02:47:28 PM
Hey. I'm probably not the only one stuck in the Nexium? He has good plans for development, but I'm still worried. What will happen with Nexium in the future? I  hope to return for at least 8k? I do not want to become bagholder.

The purpose of Nexium is to buy assets.  Just buy the assets where the real value is instead of worrying about how much you can sell your Nexiums for.

I'm wondering about this too. WHat is the point of the real-world value of a 'coin' that is not really a crypto currency, and only usable in a game?

To understand the value of Nexium you have to understand the economy of the game it is used in and disregard speculation for the purpose of simplicity.
Nexium is actually part of the game just like any other game assets except that it is used as money. Let's assume that the game is worth 100 units (game and its assets).  If the game devs are adding 1 asset (like a mothership), then it is increasing the value of the game lets say by 1 unit.  Then the game is worth 101 units.  However if you are burning another asset (Nexium) worth equal to what is added in value, then the game is back to worth 100 units.

   You made me really have to think on this one.  I believe your assumption that Nexium is an asset of the game is incorrect.  If you assume the game is worth $1000.  and there are 1000 NXC available each would be valued at $1.  Now you add a mother ship worth 10 NXC. or $10.  The value of the Game is now $1010 and the number of Nexium goes to 995 (50% of 10 burned).  So now a NXC would be valued at $1.015   ($1010/995NXC).

   You could also counter and say once the mother ship is sold it is no longer an asset of the game.  I could believe that too.  In that case the game would still be worth $1000 but now there are only 995 NXC so each would be worth 1.005.  Still a gain but not as great.  Assuming the base value remains constant, if you decrease the basis of value (NXC), the value of the remaining basis should increase.

   Think Stock by-backs.  If a company is worth $1000 and has 1000 shares of stock, each share is worth $1.  But if the company buys back 500 shares, there are only 500 remaining so now those 500 shares are worth $2.

   Maybe I'm missing something but it seems deflationary to me.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 🚀[ANN] Nexium [NXC]- Beyond the Void: First blockchain RTS on: January 26, 2017, 01:14:51 PM
are those coins constantly creating like on POW/POS, what inflation we got here?

It is no coin, it is a Token.. 0 Inflation but the Problem is Dev Team is holding more than 50% and the holdings from the Users will get burned with using their shop.
So in some month Dev Teams 50% will raise untill they have 90% of all tokens.

Be careful big big scam.

Furthermore DEVS are on Family which are looking very unprofessional. Just look their Office.
Your posts are looking very unprofessional. Just look at your trust score Smiley Back on ignore now.

"0 Inflation" - nice number, like it,
"Dev Team is holding more than 50%" - nothing wrong with it, most coins are controlled by some person or team who hold most of the coins,
"Furthermore DEVS are on Family which are looking very unprofessional. Just look their Office. " - you should look on apple or amazon office when they started: https://drionadyatama.wordpress.com/2012/04/09/starting-from-a-garage-a-big-dream-come-true/

thanks for information, and your opinion.

Agree with  all your points.  But in regards to inflation, it will kick in once the store opens.  Only 50% of the revenue from the cards sold are burned.  The remainder is inflation.

Either you or I, are confused.  50% of the revenue in the shop is burned.  That's deflation.  The remainder is not being created, it already exists, so it's not inflation.    Basically when you buy something in the shop with Nexium there will then be less tokens, increasing the remaining value.  Hopefully...

man this coin will never re bound

says who?

He just wants to buy XVG cheap lol

It will rebound in a month or two. With such BTC rally all alts are suffering.

you right about one thing, but btc rally is looking a little limp as of now.

Why would you sell at 1 Satoshi. Miner or Investor what is the point of losing half the profit when it was easliy selling at 2 Satoshi.

Why would you sell at 2 satosh.
Lost faith in the coin
Found a better oppertunity
People sometimes need funds asap or
If your bitcoins were bought at 300 usd, you can still

Plenty of reason but if you know the developer and how active he is, you find an oppertunity for your money. Well at least I did.
Too bad there is no PoS.

Lots of reasons to sell, lots of reasons to buy.

I see no reason to sell personally, believing it can only go up in value.

The main reason I got into "DogecoinDark" / XVG was the fact that it was stated as Evolving, which has kept the window open to change things up as time progresses, not being locked into anything.

It was also refreshing seeing an active and available developer.

Maybe we will see an evolution happening someday that will place XVG into the ranks of the top cryptos?

No, this coin never be a top crypto. Reason? This coin hits the 70sat and donīt hold this and fall to 1sat.

I always enjoy seeing your posts, they help keep things in perspective from another angle.

To myself, XVG has "permission" to evolve/adapt/change, not many currencies do.

Crypto is not stagnant and I believe that XVG will fill a need/void one of these days.

I somewhat like the idea as to having it running tunnels/nodes for the deep web or something of that sort, or a new system of privacy.

Thanks for your words. I like to invest money on a good thing BUT if the DEV donīt answer my question how the plan is to make this coin greater and he delete my posts i donīt like to invest in this coin. Sorry for my bad english

EDIT:

To make a good coin you need three things:

1. a idea to make this coin different to the other coins
2. be smart
3. make a good marketing

Point 1 and 2 make the DEV good with this coin. He have a idea and is smart. The last point he forget to solve (see the 70sat to 1sat fall). His only message i read about marketing is "make the coin great" if someone asked him how the plan is to make this coin popular.

    You can track it down, but I believe the Dev has said he has no intention on marketing this.  That is was up to the community to market it.  With that said, does anyone have any ideas for marketing?  I've already floated the idea of a facebook tipbot.  I don't even facebook all that much.  But could see it as a way to spread the word to non-crypto people.  Otherwise you really need to create a "need" for the coin.

Hi,

When a script is running with a martingale part in it, and the bot is running very fast so it is almost impossible to see if there is a big negative bet running when stopping, is there a way (command) to stop the bot on last win while the bot is running? In the advance mode there is a button for it, hope also in programmer mode, could be very useful.

   You can add it to your code.

I usually have something called stoponwin.  I start by initializing it to false.  stoponwin = false

Then in my win path, where I want to stop I check that.  if (stoponwin == true) then stop() end.

Then while the bot is running, if I want to stop it on a win.  Just type stoponwin = true      on the console and hit enter.

You can check and set variables on the console while the bot is running.

I'm not sure how the build in martingale works, so I'm not exactly sure how to fit it in.

260  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Seuntjie' Dice bot programmers mode discussion. on: December 20, 2016, 05:03:08 PM
Hello seuntjie i was wondering if you could help me here.
here's the code

Code:

chance = 90
basebet = 0.00000100
nextbet = basebet

function dobet()
if (win) then
chance = 90.00
   nextbet = previousbet+(previousbet*0.1)
else
if chance == 49 then
nextbet = previousbet * 2
else
chance = 49
   nextbet = 0.000002
                                                bethigh = !bethigh
end
end

end

I used previousbet+(previousbet*0.1) so that previous bet + profit will be the next bet. It bet with 90% chance and then if bet is lose in 90% chance  it will change chance to 49 then bet again then go back to 90% chance after a winning bet but when it bet again in 90% chance it bets the previous bet, how can i make it bet to basebet after a winning bet in 49% chance?

 how can i make it bet to basebet after a winning bet in 49% chance?

So you know you want to check the chance in the win section.  and then set your basebet based on what the chance is.

You will need to add a check.

if (chance == 49) then
   nextbet = basebet
else
   nextbet = whatever you want to set the nextbet to if the chance is not 49%
end

Of course you need to do this check before you set the chance to 90.

I'll leave it to you to put the code in the right spot.    Smiley

   OK, A few more hints (actually,  I'll explain exactly what to do).

You have...

if (win) then
      chance = 90.00
         nextbet = previousbet+(previousbet*0.1)

That says the bet won, so your setting chance to 90 and next bet to a higher bet then the previousbet.

But you wanted to check the chance if you won and set the next bet based on the previous chance.
You need to add the check to set the nextbet before setting chance.

if (win) then
      if (chance == 49) then
         nextbet = basebet
      else
         nextbet = previousbet+(previousbet*0.1)
      end
      chance = 90.00
...

   Now this is saying if you won, and the chance was 49, set the nextbet to basebet and chance to 90

                            if you won and chance was not 49(else path), set the next bet to the higher previousbet and set chance to 90.
So now when you win chance will be set to 90, and the nextbet will be based on you previous chance.
