The only "high level official" facing "prosecution" over this is Donald Trump.
Given he just lost the appeal and it being unlikely the supreme court will hear the case over his tax returns given it was before he was in office, it should be very entertaining to see what gets uncovered when they dig into them. Not the first time he's been in trouble over taxes.

Is it unlikely?  I thought they would almost certainly hear it but haven't been following too closely.

Unless I'm thinking of a different case, I don't think we'll get to see them even if they are handed over since it's for a SDNY grand jury.  They would be public if he actually goes to trial, but that would be after he leaves office.
The appeals court heard it and ruled today he had to turn the taxes over. They're now going to try taking it to the supreme court but as far as I can tell their argument has been that because he's a sitting president he doesn't have to. Since this was for stuff before he was elected in, it's fair game so doubtful the supreme court will hear it unless maybe they come up with some new arguments.

BSV goes more use cases.
Yep. Especially for criminal activity...

https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-47130268

How many of you are now in possession of pedo material cause you have the blockchain. CW is such a moron massively increasing how much data could be stored in the block chain. That was NOT the satoshi vision. He said only increment AS NEEDED. I can see it now. They'll come up with a solution that tosses out the rule of the blockchain being immutable and try and justify it as the "real" satoshi vision. But hey. Continue with your illegal activities. I'm sure it will all turn out well for you.

The pro vaccination people that spout of the mantra that it's "safe" are such morons. Science is what we know TODAY. Tomorrow that could change. Way back there was a scientist that proved some ulcers are caused by a virus. He was ridiculed by the medical community. He injected himself to prove his point and so they looked into it more and now it's a "fact" that he was right. A decade or two ago they said you should take Asprin in order to reduce the chance of heart attack. Fast forward to 2018 and it's "oops".. For some it can lead to bleeding and death so don't do it now unless your doctor recommends it and you understand the risks. When it comes to vaccinations and anti biotics, they're now extremely concerned that we're creating super strains of everything because of them and that we may not be able to come up with new things to combat them. We need to stop being so pro drug and stuffing things in our bodies that we don't always need and focus on just the top critical ones instead or better yet, focus on the treatment to perfect that for when someone actually comes down with something.

Last I heard it was still be investigated but I don't keep up on it too much. I will say that for anyone performing the investigation (assuming they go to this level), it takes a long time to learn some system, go through all the code, analyze all the data of transactions going back and forth and on and on. So unless there's something blatantly obvious, it can take a long time to find proof of "theft" or fraud of some sort.

Well somebody or some people will get phenomenally wealthy thanks to the theft but what is the general consensus of the victims about it being an inside job?
In other instances of actual theft, the perpetrator ran. I haven't heard of these guys running. But who knows. Maybe they're stupid and think no one will be able to figure out how they did it, if they did it. I think it's more likely the system had flaws and someone found a way in. So many of these places were coded etc by "amateurs".

(but I imagine that the internet archive has it all safely stashed)
Do you know if there's a way to "force" the entire site to be crawled and archived by them? I've noted in the past that for some sites they don't always have everything.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BSV] [Bitcoin SV] Original Satoshi Vision on: November 03, 2019, 06:45:41 AM
And just hate and fear troll posts
I love how when someone wants to cover there ears and go la la la la because they don't like what other people are saying they automatically whip out the "hate", "tolls" and "fud" labels.  Just because you don't like the facts doesn't change anything. You're free to continue with your cult like mentality and spout off your mantra. You can choose to spread the lies that BSV is the "original vision" even though it's not (neither is bitcoin) if you like but don't expect people to not take issue with the lie. The people who see this for what it is are free to say what they want to about it as well. When you have to resort to things like name calling then you've lost as you prove you can't argue the issues.
248  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Senator Sanders and Rep. Omar introduce Universal School meals bill on: November 03, 2019, 04:07:45 AM
well we aint gonna live in a zero tax world..
so what would you consider as things to spend funds on

but i do find it funny how people think offering free food = trapping people into some prison.
yea the school may offer a free sandwich but you can still give your kid pizza if you want
Now you're doing the typical thing of taking what I've said and conflating it into some extreme cases so you can turn it into some sort of emotional/moral issue that usually compels people to get into an argument. I would think the fact that I said I don't have a problem helping people out for awhile should make it clear that all the stuff in your post was just bullshit in order to try and create a conflict which is what you typical do on here when you're not "winning" a discussion.

"provide three free meals per day for all U.S. school children"

They are not talking about providing for those in need, they're talking about government taking over the responsibility of parents to provide for their children. That's not socialism, that's socialist and that's where I draw the line. Once again, they're using children for votes cause they know it's an emotional issue for people in the same way they use it for gun control and the right uses it for abortion. It disgusts me when anyone uses kids as a means to try and sway opinion on an issue. And to be clear, I have no problem providing assistance for those who need it for awhile.

im in agreement
my opinion is this though
all under 18's getting 3 meals a day for all 365 days a year is just 2%
yet the money going to banks is more like 8-10%
id personally prefer banks get 0 and then have 6-8% for other things and 2% to make sure no one starves
For me, this is not something I would be flexible on so all your attempts at justifications just fall on deaf ears. It's crossing the line no matter how I feel about other things. In fact, I feel so strongly about these sorts of issues that, despite despising Trump for years (long before he ran for president), I would either not vote or vote for him (or some other Republican). I would rather the country get even more fucked up than allow it to move towards being blatantly socialist. That's why someone like Bernie or even Warren (assuming she doesn't flop back from stealing all Bernie's stuff) could not win. The dems would lose a lot of the center and moderates.
250  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Senator Sanders and Rep. Omar introduce Universal School meals bill on: November 03, 2019, 02:42:08 AM
No. Just no. Implement policies that make it so that the children's parents can bloody well feed their children properly.
Dont breed them if you cant feed them.  Feeding a child is the parent's responsibility.

what if.. what if
parents have a child. the parents work and feel their job is secure..... but by the time the kid is born and then later reaches the age of say 4. the parents lose their job or a parent loses their lives affecting the families income.

lets just pretend its just the lose the job scenario.
are governments to then still refuse to feed the kids. and have the kids on a waiting list to be assessed and eventually when assessed as having parents that cant afford to feed the family. have the kids removed from the home and treated as criminal child abusers.. purely for losing their job
or
the $2 a meal that would have paid for the kids food, could then go towards job searching where the parent can concentrate on trying to better the families life knowing the kids are healthy

As far as I know they were hacked and it's being investigated. Beyond that, unless law enforcement finds they did it (the systems would also have to be analyzed to determine if any fraud took place), then I don't see what they would have done to warrant criminal action. Beyond that maybe people could go after them for something like negligence.

Was it thoroughly investigated if they were hacked because of negligence or because of an inside job or is that process still on-going with the Police side-by-side while Grant Thornton do their investigation?

claim that this will take years to finish
Mt. Gox happened in 2014 and is still ongoing. Although Cryptsy was outright theft, it closed right at the start of 2016. Mid 2017 they were only up to selling the house and they said it would take a long time, a year or more to get a settlement from that. I haven't heard any update about it. History shows it can take years.

can anybody cateorgorically state the owners of cryptopia are not charged with any criminal offence and are not even on bail?
What did they do that would warrant them being charged with something?

These days these things don't phase me much. It's all part of putting your money in the hands of some "anonymous" people on the internet. All you can do is minimize the risk, spread it out, and just wait for some losses. Cryptsy, these guys plus a couple more for smaller amounts, 2 or three payment sites similar to Paypal. I've lost plenty over the years and have learned to just take it in stride.

Were they at least investigated thoroughly for fraud? Does anybody know if they were at any point arrested for questioning before being completely discharged?

And what was the official reason given for them not being charged with any criminality?

The Senate will laugh at them, of course.
They'll do what all of them on both sides do. If the polls turn against them, they'll impeach him.

I'm not going to agree with, disagree with, or even consider that type of comment worthy of responding to.
And yet you responded to it. Bravo!

Have a look at https://freebitco.in/ They've been around for years and they've added more things over time to just the faucet "game". I'd be looking to mimic some of what they've done if I was going to develop something like that.

PoW is to make ppl rich who really work.
Gotcha. POW wasn't created to make people rich though. Just shows your state of mind when it comes to these things. Doesn't matter if it's crap or awesome tech, as long as you can make money from it. Now I know why you support this. You fit right in with Craig.
260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BSV] [Bitcoin SV] Original Satoshi Vision on: October 31, 2019, 10:56:39 AM

Because big blocks are more profitable?

And there you have it. They don't care about cryto currency, they're only in it for profit. After having watched the video the other day of Craig, I was left with the feeling that he is exactly the same way. All he seems to care about is getting in bed with the banks, corporations and the like just so he can get rich and nothing more.
