lol @ how 'magic the gathering' are the keywords it's trying to show you. did Mt. Gox actually trade Magic cards back then? did anyone use it?
& I'm SO glad the site is taken down. STAY DOWN.
Taxing my memory, I think Roger Ver stated here that he used to trade Magic cards, but not sure if he still does or if it's even profitable to get into it now. ~Bruno~ Yes, MTGOX == Magic The Gathering Online eXchange. According to this article, the original codebase was a Magic trading platform with some tweaks added to make it work with Bitcoin.

Holy shit, I just scrolled sideways and saw the alarm clock and the Frankenstein router.

I have generated the private keys for all of the 8 addresses listed, by taking the SHA256 hash of passwords from a password list.
Is the SHA256 hash easier to break than MD5? No.

Is that the case just for the genesis block, or other very early blocks too?
From what I understand, this limitation only applies to the generation transaction of the genesis block. Transactions sent to the "wishing well" could be spent. Just the genesis block. What's this about a wishing well? Went over my head, that. Check it out: http://blockexplorer.com/address/1A1zP1eP5QGefi2DMPTfTL5SLmv7DivfNa <-- address of the genesis block's generation transaction. While the 50 BTC can't be spent, it should be possible to spend the additional 6.57403164 BTC.

Has anyone run this on Minirigs, or is that even an option at this stage? The website states Easy miner is compatible with Minirigs but does not list any faster firmwares available for them.
Look on the download page, there is an autotuning package available, but not individual firmwares. Make sure you download the second autotune package that is meant for minirigs.

Well damn, I was holding off on digitizing the original, but I might as well if the digital version is rewriting history.
|
|
|
That would require Satoshi to spend that coin
It's not possible to spend coins from the genesis block. To make it possible would require everyone to upgrade their client to a version which makes it possible. If a group of people didn't upgrade, they would be on a fork of the blockchain as soon as the genesis block's coins were spent. Is that the case just for the genesis block, or other very early blocks too? From what I understand, this limitation only applies to the generation transaction of the genesis block. Transactions sent to the "wishing well" could be spent.

The only reason I bought this is up, like I mentioned, is that I was in my 21 Million Image thread in Newbie and noticed that four different users posted images back-to-back-times-four, wrapping the links in the quote tag oppose to the image tag. So that I don't make the mistake of posting which accounts this happened with, would the mods/admins please check my log-in history this morning and you will see the ones I researched pertaining to that thread. Anybody else you see me checking user history was done for a completely different research. Feel free to PM me if for some reason what I requested is not possible and I'll be happy to comply by supplying the names to you. I do request that each mod/admin go on record in this thread stating that it was not them though, and that they don't do such. I believe BadBear's post could be considered the first to comply, albeit pre-request.
I don't see the dotted line edit thingy under the time stamp showing that an edit took place, using all the themes. I do have the screenshots of said event.
Thank you, all.
~Bruno~
Another thing is that the dotted line indicating an edit only shows if said edit was made after 5 minutes has passed since the post. Edits before 5 minutes are up don't show. Therefore, if a mod/admin made an edit several hours ago, it would be known now by displaying dotted lines. Is that correct? ~Bruno~ The "5 minutes" is time since the post was originally made, not time since edit.

I just installed v1.1.16 on my dev server and I am looking at the bottom of "Features and Options" in admin menu and I see this can't theymos just put in the zero for unlimited? But then any new users can spam the shit out of everyone.

|
|
I doubt the forums' codebase is extremely different than a default install, with the exception of several tweaks that have been implemented. So any software devs that wanted to download SMF V1.1.16 could have a look and see how hard it would be, and offer Theymos a patch to apply at his leisure after he reviews the code.

We reported, but ICANN gives 45 days for the registrar to take action. Chances are that by then the website will not be up anyway.
It might be worth the $10 to do a charge (1 bitcoin ~= $10), paying with credit card, and then issue a chargeback when the bitcoin isn't delivered. Full screenshots taken. That way PayPal will be more likely to suspend the account and freeze the funds. The fact that the account hasn't been frozen yet by PayPal is something utterly bizarre to me. This is the third site using the same account. I was thinking perhaps this might be a honeypot for catching carders perhaps as one plausible explanation. The spelling mistakes, etc., all a disguise perhaps? Who knows. I recall someone trying this last time, and paypal not complying with the chargeback because bitcoin? I don't recall the specifics.

It's been used several times. If you install an old client, you will see a warning at the bottom that says that it is insecure and needs to be updated. That warning message is actually stored in the blockchain. No, it's not. It's an alert message that is being broadcast into the network. Each client can decide if/how show it. Also, in principle, different clients could use different signing keys. OK, thanks for helping me to understand about the propagation part of it. So what you are saying is that such messages are being shuffled around in limbo via the P2P network, but don't touch the blockchain ever?

I don't get it: all I can do is place a gateway. I don't have a gateway. It's to gauge interest; if you are willing and able to run one, put your location. You would still need to buy it whenever they decide to release it.

BTW, that is a sexy body shell. I can't wait to hear from someone that has tried it out when they are delivered.

That could be interesting. I hope their system supports unicode.
Why are you specifically asking for unicode? Probably to support characters for languages other than English.
