241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 26, 2016, 02:52:03 PM
If now BTC addresses is unknown, after ICO is over, BTC can be transferred to a new address and make public this fact.
More than that, is should be required. I want proof too, in a reasonable time and manner.
Trust, but verify.

On the previous page you called me unreasonable but now you want some proof, good, you are finaly becoming reasonable.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | ICO | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: February 26, 2016, 02:32:39 PM
Isn't everytime there's an ICO, some people will post everything to call is SCAM? When ETH ICO came in, people are calling it a deadcoin once ICO is over but look at it now. But of course, there'll be always an altcoin having an ICO who doesn't have any purpose at all so at some point if you're going to call all ICOs SCAM, you will be correct at most times and have the feeling of "I told you so" moment.

On this forum, where ratio between scam and legit projects is 99:1 or worse, ICO with no visible BTC address is a scam. It does not make a difference if project actualy kicks off later and become as big as ETH, it is a scam because investors got less coins than they were supposed to get. Like it is not enough that no one can tell how many coins developers are getting for free (buy coins with their own BTC and get coins + BTC back) now it became fine that even BTC address is not known, fucking hillarious. I can already see this ICO will end up with 10,000+ BTC "invested" and 5,000+ "participants" which is way more investors than cryptospace has in total. Or at least ones that are stupid enough to put (big) money into project that is actualy a clone of a coin which already failed (XCR).

After ICO ends all BTC is available to devs. at their discretion? Or is a roadmap to spend ICO value?

Someone can answer?

We will spend all the money on Lisk. This includes marketing, conference/meetup visits, salaries, office space, hardware we might need, infrastructure, business establishment (taxes) and much more.

There you go but don't worry, just keep on sponsoring lavish lifestyles of developers and hope the best for LISK. Until it is abandoned a year later most of you won't see where was the scam part.

If we can not check it all stories about lawyer or whatever are irrelevant.

You could easily check it, if you want. Names, links, email addresses are all public here in this thread.

SISAR, An argument doesn't become more valuable, if you spam it frequently and use big or/and red letter!

If you have an serious issue about the escrow or the security of this ICO, you can contact me otherwise please search another thread or forum.

No BTC address = 883 BTC and 734 participants is a lie. It is as simple as that. You might be green and stupid enough to trust people when (big) money is in question but I am not, I joined cryptos exactly because they are trustless. I don't have to trust you that you own some coin, if I know your address and you can prove it is yours that means you own coins at that address. But right here you naive people are still trusting people you actualy do not know, who already proved with XCR they are up to some shady shits. Good luck!

Do not invest into this ICO, it is a scam!

What is Bitcoin ICO address?
You must go thru the dashboard at http://ico.lisk.io .  Click on the "Start Your Exchange" button.  There is no direct Bitcoin address for donating to Lisk.

So we are back to "trust us" model. Just type any amount you wish for BTC and particulary badly screw XCR owners. 883 BTC and 734 participants, what an epic lie.

SCAM!

You have been REPORTED

I agree with SISAR (even though, I believe he should contain himself a little) that there should be a way for any user to check important info as number of participants, and money (BTC, etc) received, without resort to "trust". It does not automaticaly mean this is a SCAN ICO, but, still, depending on trust opens doors to bad things.

Well, between all this talk about trust and such, I would like to point out, that you are trusting people that have identified themselves with their real names and pictures. Around 900BTC is a lot of money, but divided by at least two, I have no idea where they should flee, to have a nice life after going through with this, as some call it, scam.

They don't have to flee anywhere, what they will do is announce that ICO money is spent earlier than everyone think it should be spent. Development stopped, rebrand to some other coin and try again. The same way they have abandoned XCR. I was XCR ICO investor so I was following the deal from start, at the point when they were supposed to start advertising XCR as a finalized project they went LISK and dropped XCR because they burned all money from XCR ICO on some stupid shits. And now, because we owners of XCR are getting less LISK if more BTC is invested, and fictional BTC value, they are trashing people who invested in XCR ICO which subsequently resulted in LISK ICO. Fucking bastards.

I am on this forum and community for almost 4 years, very accurately calling out suspicious deals. Supossedly this LISK is a major deal but it is nothing more than rebranded XCR which had almost no community and struggled at exchanges for years.

This ICO is a scam, period.

You can report as much as you want, I won't be silenced because I am asking the right question. Values you are showing at LISK website are fiction unless you can provide BTC address(es).

On a second thought, what makes this coin competitive versus BOINC? At BOINC there is a huge amount of computing power already available for free. So why would someone mess with crypto and pay for computing power in the first place? Also, if there are no regular PoW block rewards that means miners are not incentivized to process regular transactions, will network stall until someone pays enough for miners to start computing?

As for amount of coins, 5M sounds fine but I would also be OK with 1M or 100M. Just don't go retarded and opt for 100B or 100k coins.
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PXC] Phoenixcoin v0.6.6.0 ~ NeoScrypt on: February 24, 2016, 09:59:20 PM
Funny times, there is a new improved miner but difficulty is more or less the same as before which means those mining now are getting more coins per W invested yet very few are actualy selling. Profitability of mining is much higher than before and buy orders are 50% higher than before but trade volume is insignificant, how come? So what is next, epic pump up to parity with Bitcoin?

Joined crowdfunding, very interesting project indeed!

If I understood correctly, the only way for me to exchange XCR to LISK is by using XCR web wallet provided at LISK ICO website. I can not send coins from Poloniex and use my Poloniex deposit address as return address for ICO. I must use my own address to send coins and use my own address as return address for ICO. Which means I must withdraw all my XCR from Poloniex to my own address first, correct?

How will I be able to prove I have sent coins when there is no verify signature (address ownership) with Crypti?

The thing that will destroy Bitcoins is simple. It will be the bloated size of the blockchain.

No, if it happens it will be EMP. Anything else can be fixed much cheaper and faster.

257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The types of nodes that will be around next month on: February 21, 2016, 08:25:11 PM
Only miners get a financial return for running nodes

That is not true. Anyone who has considerable amount of money invested in Bitcoin or ecosystem is running a full node. 100% of such people I know including myself are doing it because we are aware there is no "others that should do it for ourselves" with Bitcoin, here you are your own bank and should behave responsibly toward your own money else you risk losing it all. It costs so little to participate in trustless manner. It costs maybe a few dollars per month to have extremely secure local storage for my coins. It would be increadibly stupid to cut costs there.

Financial return is in the fact there is no way I can wake up tommorow and not own my coins anymore which is what can easily happen to anyone using unofficial offline or online wallets. Such people can lose money anytime while I can't hence if trouble strucks I would not lose money which equals becoming rich at the times everyone else are becoming poor.
258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you get into Bitcoin? on: February 21, 2016, 08:17:26 PM
This is one of the first questions I get to be asked when talk to people about BTC, how did I get in?

My story s simple, in late 2012, I had an extra PC and I started browsing make money online forums to find something to do with that machines. People suggested botting, social signals etc., and one day someone suggested to mine BTC. I got into mining and have been into this beautiful economy ever since.

What about you?

I was looking for a way to enable international payments an easy way for some of my online projects and PayPal, Moneybookers and such did not filled the role, too complicated, fees too high.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: February 21, 2016, 08:13:14 PM
I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
