With new wallet UPnP port mapping is unavailable, that is not good. It means guaranteed issues with conectivity (unable to accept incoming connections). Number of reachable nodes is already low and without UPnP enabled it will surely go down.

that is incorrect, UPNP mapping is on, i compiled the wallets with upnp mapping enabled

Are you suggesting that I faked that screenshot?

14400 coins generated per day at a price of 1000 satoshis/huc is 0.144 btc per day. thats ~$34 usd per day. there is barely any volume and there probably aren't any decent bags to dump or do any real damage anyway around this price.

True but there are 7 million coins already mined and also for months price was under 500 Satoshi with trades going on, some people got a lot of coins at such low prices but even now when price is up almost 300% none of them are selling? It might be an epic bull trap or just HODL time, long-term long positions with profit targets much higher than 300%.

To be clear, ONLY links from http://www.goflap.io work to download the new wallet. Mega links are dead/old/untrusted

Have you contacted Cryptsy about wallet upgrade? They are usualy damn slow when it comes to wallet upgrades, it might easily take them over 2 weeks to complete the job.

Not a huge surprise, imo, SISAR. A couple of months ago when the Unity project was announced...

I've never heard of this unity project, can anybody add some color and how it relates to HunterCoin?

Also, is the game still being worked on?  How much longer before a full rollout?

Much appreciated!

Game is a part of Huntercoin wallet, not separate service thus it was available the same moment Huntercoin was launched. In short, take classic Bitcoin-Qt and add tab where people can gather 90% of newly mined bitcoins by playing game and you get Huntercoin. On top of that, one can get coins by mining with both SHA256 and Scrypt and all that also works as merged-mining. Miners get 10% of newly mined coins and taxes when players cash-out coins they have gathered ingame. At any time you can check the state of game at https://www.huntercoin.info/ just refresh page every few minutes and you'll notice that coins (players) are moving mostly toward corners, that is where 4 starting bases are and where player cashes-out (puts gathered coins into his wallet and pays tax to miners).

At it's peak, game was played by close to 9,000 players (humans and bots) and it was totally badass. https://www.huntercoin.info/PZN/huntercoin/charts/generals.png?1433966543

Also check https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q41RW6bxpM4 and other Huntercoin videos on YouTube.

Unity project is about creation of Huntercoin client with Unity3D software (google it) so that people can play without downloading the whole blockchain and from what I saw on last few pages it is almost complete (had no time to test it though). By installing Unity3D player one can play the game inside any web browser, for example.

Huntercoin in a nutshell is a cryptocoin with unique way of distributing newly mined coins, you can think of it as very advanced faucet.  Grin

ETA on POS wallet?

sorry guys. i will be back tonight to retry everything. i havent been home in 2 days. it doesnt come into affect until block 750k ish anyway.

With 80,000 blocks to go that is around 2 months of very unprofitable PoW mining. You should reconsider it and move hard-fork point much closer, at block 700,000 or even earlier. In any case, it is amazing to see how FLAP went from just few Litoshis to almost 1 Satoshi in little over 6 months. Too bad I missed a chance to load up massively earlier at Poloniex, I still remember people laughing at trollbox about FLAP and it's removal from that exchange. Nice comeback!

3 peaks added

Those 3 look much better to me than already sold ones, colors are kickass!

I'm really surprised to see HUC price going up for over 2 weeks without much resistance or major dumps, a new page in HUC trending. From all-time high at 0.0035 down to all-time low at 0.00000334 and now slowly going up, what a ride!

Not a huge surprise, imo, SISAR. A couple of months ago when the Unity project was announced, there was a decent pump, and now it seems like "lite" versions that might run on Android or iOS are getting closer to reality, so some price rise is to be expected, I think.

I was expecting some price rise but not like that, a month ago people were dumping down to 466 Satoshi or so and now when price is over 100% up no one wanna dump any decent bag, how come? No one is taking any noticable profit? If you compare current trend with the latest big pump (the one you mentioned) there were clearly pumps and dumps going on, price range within the same day was huge but now even if price goes crazy it is only upwards. Such trend is rarely seen with cryptos, many people this days cash-out even with smaller price increase.

HODL time, it seems.  Cheesy

How long until block reward halving and how many coins are mined by now?

42million coins total, 7.5million coins in circulation, block halving should be every 4 years (2.5 to go - i believe).

Thanks for info, for some reason http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/huntercoin/ is saying that only around 4 million coins are mined so it calculates marketcap at only 39 BTC but even with correct number of mined coins marketcap at around 70 BTC looks ridicule low to me.

Well i managed to download and unzip the blockchain and now the client is stuck on the loading screen the HUC huntercoin logo.. and yep hour later still sitting there looking at me funny Sad

Unless HUC wallet works differently than other Bitcoin-like wallets, it will check data you have downloaded the same way as if you downloaded blockchain from other nodes. To blindly trust whatever source of download you picked could end up badly and given that cryptocoins are trustless it is neccessary to check all data. Is there some HDD activity at all, is HUC wallet process using up a lot of CPU? If yes and yes, it is the case as explained above so just wait untill it is all done.

Some time ago there was a talk about HUC mobile (or it was web) client, a light node. Any progress there or it was canceled?

Given the size of current blockchain, are there any plans to recast a genesis block? Like "at the latest block X do a checkpointing at block X-1440 and freeze database at that point then create a new genesis block containing state of all used addresses ending with block X-1440" or some other deal, in any case wipping all tx data prior to block X-1440.

Is there any explorer or website that shows the amount of already mined coins?

Block-halving will happen at roughly what date?

i should be pushing the PoS commit to the github tonight (within the next 12 hours)

Cryptsy wallet is down, are they upgrading already?

@ Griffith

3 days min stake should work much better than 7 days min stake, good choice. In any case, situation with block generation will go normal at some point but it is better to prevent problems at early PoS stage. As for Coin Control, I was one of the most active beta-testers of it before it was added to official Bitcoin wallet and elsewhere. There was a weeks-long extenssive testing before CC was finaly added to Bitcoin-Qt, any imaginable transaction format was tried multiple times. As stated earlier, if one selects only 1 unspent input and tries to send it there should be no change to transaction fee regradless of number of send attempts. Transaction fee will go up only if amount of data to be sent changes and / or priority (age) of selected input changes but neither of those two cases are happening here thus transaction should not change but it does.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 20mb block increase = 20 times more transactions possible? on: June 03, 2015, 10:59:51 PM
VISA handles on average around 2,000 transactions per second (tps), so call it a daily peak rate of 4,000 tps. It has a peak capacity of around 47,000 transactions per second, however they never actually use more than about a third of this even during peak shopping periods.

PayPal, in contrast, handles around 10 million transactions per day for an average of 115 tps.

Let's take 4,000 tps as starting goal. Obviously if we want Bitcoin to scale to all economic transactions worldwide, including cash, it'd be a lot higher than that, perhaps more in the region of a few hundred thousand tps.
The ideal, ultimate goal would be that Bitcoin can deal with a volume of transaction that encompasses all credit card transactions or the major ones (visa, mastercard... + all major bank transactions + paypal). This is the serious goal if we want Bitcoin to crush and deprecate his competition. The question is: Will 20MB of block size allow for this, or we need a bigger blocksize? Because if we need a bigger blocksize, why not calculate what amount of MB is needed and do it straight away? You don't want to hard ok anymore after the next blocksize increase, ideally.

Yes, it seems that have used up all big inputs and are now "stuck" with like trillion of smaller inputs.  Tongue

Bug report:

When using Coin Control feature transaction fee is not calculated properly. If I pick unspent input with 10,000 coins and want to send all those coins to some address, transaction fee will be reported at 0 coins and upon attempting to send all coins wallet will complain that I have insuffiscient funds because required transaction fee is actualy let's say 5 coins. So to send mentioned coins I must do 10,000 - 5 and send 9,995 coins. Situation is actualy far from that simple because most inputs are like 132,861.18164532 and transaction fee is like 26.35 but also for some reason the value for transaction fee can change between send attempts even though the same one input is selected at all times (there is no change when it comes to transaction size nor priority).

Has a portion of the historical data been removed on Cryptsy?  When looking at ALL time period, it begins July 14.  The original coin launched Feb. 14.  I seem to remember Cryptsy having more historical data.

Trading started at SILK/BTC but after a week or so of no buying orders even at 1 Satoshi they moved market to SILK/LTC where price very quickly dropped to just few Litoshis.  Tongue

[EDIT] Rough specs will be 10% annual staking reducing 1% every 50k blocks to 1% indefinitely. Min stake 7 days, max 21 days.  PoS to start around 700k.

Min stake 7 days might innitially result in problems because it is very likely that there are not enough unspent inputs to generate enough blocks to have network running properly until new stakes become available. 1,440 blocks * 7 days = 10,080 unspent inputs required to maintain block time at 1 minute on average! There will probably be a long wait until new blocks. It would help if client could break staked unspent inputs into more than 2 outputs, to create more unspent inputs later and thus slowly correct block generation.

If anyone feels like staking this coin, withdraw your FLAP from exchanges now. If possible do it in more than 1 transaction (withdraw), the more of them the better.

unspent inputs like this? https://chainz.cryptoid.info/flap/block.dws?663222.htm

lately there have been a TON like this

cryptsy withdraws are being limited because of so many inputs.

cryptsy does stake thier coins which is why if you withdraw from them you see inputs like this. so if cryptsy has a large amount of Flappy the week minimum wont hurt the chain at all. as for the splitting after every stake. PoS already does this by default

It is unclear why Cryptsy are spamming the blockchain with massive transactions like the one linked above. First of all, FLAP is still not PoS and the idea that Cryptsy are ahead of time (wallet update) is simply silly (they are always lagging when it comes to wallet updates or any other activity on the scene) but even if it is it would make no sense to send roughly 25,000 coins from hundreds of addresses instead of sending just recent deposits, starting with the latest one. All that if Cryptsy are actualy staking which I think is not true.

As for PoS wallets splitting input into multiple outputs it is true but just 2 outputs might be too little to elegantly fix eventual issue with block generation. If at the time FLAP switches to PoS there are 1,000 unspent inputs that are stake-ready, splitting those into just 2,000 outputs will not help much because 10,080 stake-ready inputs are needed in 7 days period to have network running smoothly.

IBM Bitcoin Rain

BM Cloud rained money at Campus Party, the biggest geek event in the world. Participants downloaded a weather app and kept an eye on the forecast. At a given time it warned them that a different rain was approaching. A bitcoin rain. People then had to go to the right place in the event, at the right time and raise their cellphones to capture the money.
