2402  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoins only for 'hackers' and 'gamers'?? on: April 19, 2013, 04:31:31 AM
To critique a suggestion as insane invites the same type of critique. It could also be called insane to suggest that any system is 'trustless'. Or maybe it is just plain amusing that a system could require no trust.

Is Bitcoin not based on a theoretical framework, too?

Does the money system we are to use but not trust based on 'values'?

Is this a religion or a money system?

So by trustless I mean my node doesn't need to trust what your node is sending to me. I can validate it on own, meaning it is a trustless system.

No bitcoin based on a protocol that is built and working, no theory behind it. If your talking about crypto-functions do some research. The addresses are nothing more than private public key, the bread and butter of internet commerce since about 1996 probably earlier.

This is a money system, that a lot of people are passionate about.
2403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do Bitcoins need something REAL to back them? on: April 19, 2013, 01:24:13 AM
Lol do you seriously dont get my point?
For me to OWN a bitcoin I have to put my faith in it that some other person would value it as much as I did, otherwise I loose. Lets say a bitcoin 2.0 gets online with much better properties making your bitcoin 1.0 worthless. If I own Stored energy, I can USE it to something like powering my computer, TV, cooking plate, powering ASICs performing protein folding, (not useless shit like double SHA-256 hashing Tongue )..

Do you still dont get it??

So for me own a dollar the same would have to be true, that is true in any currency. Your energy currency theory is still under the same law. What if one computer requires X energy to be powered. Yet computer 2 requires X+1 energy.
2404  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Whitelist, a Chrome Extension on: April 18, 2013, 07:57:07 PM
I have to make a call on services, which can have both good and evil subpaths. It's technically doable to whitelist/blacklist specific paths (eg. user on reddit or bitcointalk). However, most of the time a scammer would create an account or shortlink, use it for an attack, and then dispose of it. This whole process can take under an hour and would make this whitelist unmanageable. For now, I will take a stance of not adding these types of services to whitelist (no icon will be displayed), but if a service is clearly being used for scamming then it will end up in caution/bad site section. Hope this makes sense - feedback is welcome.

Code:
'polimedia.us': { result: { code: bit.GOOD, title: 'Good', url: 'https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Buying_bitcoins' } },
'coinlenders.com': { result: { code: bit.GOOD, title: 'Good', url: 'https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159359.0' } },

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=102333.0 <<proof.

You whitelisted a stock exchange that also host porn or how about coinlenders we have no id of the person running it they can run off with all the coins, yet cause you think people will abuse my shortlink system, which has yet to happen cause I block certain names from being shortlinks and included in shortlinks. I think you need to reevaluate this process. Also my service is not only uses crypto to defend against hackers, every address and shortname are hashed and encrypted so it be very unlikely to be changed by a 3rd party including me the site's owner, unless we had super computers.

What kind of people use Bitcoins, the digital currency designed by cryptographers to be untraceable? Web entrepreneurs? Open-source evangelists? Anti-corporate hackers? Well, it turns out, perhaps unsurprisingly, that the average Bitcoin user is a libertarian. A 32-year-old libertarian male to be precise.
2408  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: goxgui - a Graphical Bitcoin Trading Tool for MtGox on: April 16, 2013, 04:54:55 AM
Are you trying to run a gui though SSH?

It's not going to work mate, just use it on what ever computer your posting on here from.

I'm trying to run in on a remote server from a windows XP box using putty.

Then just use the Goxtool without a gui, cause that will give you a GUI in a shell.

Yeah, sorry it's not the proof you were looking for, but do consider that I spent very little time practicing drawing.  I spent most of my days playing counter strike source or learning about the world online, or weed.

I love Counter-strike 1.4 -1.6 I am not into it any more. Any jesus that plays CS sounds good to me.

Total Time Spent Online:   1 hours and 9 minutes.

You got ~3 more hours to wait, but you can post a link here.

Trolls are so cute. They make me want to force my children to play with them.

I pointed out facts and that makes me a troll, ignorant people are shouldn't be allowed to speak.
2415  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitfloor a good place to trade? on: April 14, 2013, 06:01:44 AM
They were hacked, cause of the stupidity of the owner by leaving a cold storage wallet open and lost about ~25,000BTC so I wouldn't use them until they pay back the people they ripped off.

There’s a gold rush going on these days, or a Bitcoin rush, at least. Driven by the recent swings in the value of a Bitcoin, more and more people are learning about and becoming interested in the currency. While they could just buy Bitcoins at the current market rate, others are looking to try their luck at mining Bitcoins. And like prospectors who traveled west during the Gold Rush of the 19th century, many Bitcoin miners will find that they spend more on chasing the Bitcoin dream than they’ll ever hope to win back.

A few months ago, while visiting a hacker friend’s magnificent new San Francisco loft, he gestured to a little alcove stuffed with server racks and said: “And over there are the Bitcoin mines.” I smiled and nodded, thinking, Oh, right, Bitcoin. Is that still a thing?

2419  Other / Off-topic / Who else runs a bot on one of the exchange? on: April 12, 2013, 08:29:20 AM

Just like a car, I like to show off my bots as well.
2420  Economy / Auctions / Re: Bitcoin.xxx for sale on: April 12, 2013, 02:10:42 AM
Thank you for the bids everyone. In light of the recent crash I'm closing this auction without a winner. My plan is to continue development of the site to hopefully launch in a few months.

So I guess the auction will be back on tomorrow when bitcoins are up to $200 again?
