Don't do business he tried to scam me by using blockchain's watch-only feature. I asked him to sign a unique string with the private key to show he had control. He stop communicating after that. SCAM ALERT.

1523  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTS $100,000+ Worth of Bitcoin and/or Litecoin on: December 20, 2013, 02:03:56 AM
I would have no problem starting with a $25,000 purchase and seeing how that goes before buying more. I do have to see an address signed or a couple addresses that total to $100K.
1524  Economy / Service Discussion / Which site has the most constant work? on: December 19, 2013, 11:08:44 PM
Basically me and my friend are starting a bitcoin web development company. Only problem is we can't find a site that has constant work. So now we are asking the community. Let us know.
1525  Other / Meta / Re: Meta these days... on: December 19, 2013, 08:48:29 PM
I'm getting more annoyed at all the Dogecoin threads in the newbie section.
Report them

That isn't enough attention for some people! They need to make their reports public.
1526  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is Bitcoin going to progress now that FBI owns the largest wallet? on: December 19, 2013, 05:56:43 PM
Well if they hold it for a long time, then they basically made us all richer, but after the trail they will probably selling it.
1527  Other / Meta / Re: [ABOUT THIS FORUM] Profile picture on: December 19, 2013, 07:23:02 AM

1529  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Reliability of walletnotify on: December 19, 2013, 05:44:42 AM
Has anyone experienced issues with the walletnotify callback? I think it may just be me but from time to time weird things happen, want to confirm it's only me implementing the callback badly.

What is the weird things?
1530  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What wallet do you use? Is multibit safe? on: December 19, 2013, 05:17:55 AM
Multibit uses SPV to keep the blockchain, which means you lose a degree of trustless, but for it is good.

1533  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase problems - Took my money and gave me no coins! 10 days and counting on: December 18, 2013, 08:26:17 PM
Have you already purchased btc before? They place a 30 day hold for your first order, campbx used to/still does the same thing. If you don't like it I would suggest writing your congress people and telling them the regulations are too much.

The hold is so you don't scam them. Remember a bitcoin isn't reversible, but many ways to send USD are reversible. People fail to remember that coinbase isn't an exchange it is easy to forget that. Just like you wouldn't go to a local currency exchanger to hedge yourself against the Euro, it works the same way. You have to use coinbase as way to change dollars into bitcoins, and not to worry about the price. Even though coinbase claims they are like the bitcoin trading software for average people, you also have to work through the tiers to get to that point.

When you hear Brian Armstrong talk, you see that he is creating the first bitcoin bank. A place that will be known to be safe and secure. A place where the average user will just use bitcoins to send overseas with very low fees. After watching his Foundation episode you get that sense even more. When he starts talking about wills and such.
1534  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: RAM-Reduction & Backup Center Testing (version 0.89.99.16) on: December 18, 2013, 04:09:05 PM

Now that the conference is over, I took a stab at OSX.  I finally got it compiling and running!  But, I don't have the full blockchain on my Mac, so I can't really test it...  Try it out!

https://s3.amazonaws.com/bitcoinarmory-releases/Armory_0.90-beta_OSX_test1.tar.gz

It works for me, I am on maverick 10.9.0, not 10.9.1.

1536  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet Testing? on: December 17, 2013, 06:07:10 PM
Use the testnet for all wallet testing, those bitcoins are easy to get from a faucet, and are worthless.
Can we test importing private keys within testnet, I want mock-test that before moving my BTC to a paper wallet.

Yes you can, testnet is just a different bitcoin blockchain with some parameters changed to make sure you know it is the testnet.

Use the testnet for all wallet testing, those bitcoins are easy to get from a faucet, and are worthless.

I came across testnet during my research and did try to use it, i inputted my address here: https://i.imgur.com/NMz1i52.png

Then put in the captcha and pressed ok and i was greeted with a blank page however (https://i.imgur.com/BcBP9S6.png), sometimes when i try it and press ok i am greeted with an error: https://i.imgur.com/AZuGEt1.png (i double checked to make sure the captcha was correct and it is)

http://testnet.mojocoin.com/ try that one.
1537  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: MTGox api/v1 php script, Incomplete need help adding to it. on: December 17, 2013, 10:00:24 AM
Found the v2

https://github.com/medoix/php-mtgox-v2/blob/master/mtgox_private_api.php

looks like its built the same way, not sure how to do the market order at USD

That is still V1

Code:
const uri_account_info = '1/generic/private/info';
    const uri_new_address = '1/generic/bitcoin/address';
    const uri_add_private_key = '1/generic/private/bitcoin/addpriv';
    const uri_add_wallet_dat = '1/generic/bitcoin/wallet_add';
    const uri_withdraw_coins = '1/generic/bitcoin/send_simple';
    const uri_id_key = '1/generic/private/idkey';
    const uri_trade_history = '1/BTC%s/private/trades';
    const uri_wallet_history = '1/generic/private/wallet/history';
    const uri_wallet_history_alt = '1/generic/wallet/history';
    const uri_submit_order = '1/BTC%s/private/order/add';
    const uri_get_orders = '1/generic/private/orders';
    const uri_order_result = '1/generic/private/order/result';
    const uri_cancel_order = '0/cancelOrder.php';

Those are V1 endpoints for the api.

https://github.com/pathaksa/MtGox-PHP-API-V2 and it does not support an order at market price, so just get the current price and set that as the order price.
1538  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reliable trading platform? on: December 17, 2013, 08:01:23 AM
So you don't keep any bit coins on coin base? I just recently bought about 2 bit coins and it takes about 4 business to completed

Not 2 bitcoins I would find maybe a better more secure way of handling them. But you have to do your own research to find what works for you the best. And this has nothing to do with coinbase as a company, I just like more control over my bitcoins.
1539  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your first reaction to the concept of Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2013, 08:52:50 PM
When I could make money on the internet and doesn't require a bank account or 3rd party service.

When you need to buy some food, how are you going to do that without a bank account or 3rd party service (assuming localbitcoins as one)?

Of course I have a personal bank account which I use coinbase to send money to, but do you know how hard it is to get a business bank account? And if you do get one they can shut it down for no reason at all. Which is why services like pay for bills in bitcoin and bitinstant are down and out. Also fraudly chargebacks, is another issue, that bitcoin solves.
1540  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Block found with 0 transactions? on: December 16, 2013, 07:45:58 PM
So is it possible to somehow chose which blocks you mine?

Yes it is based on rules and their is even a patch so if you want to include a specific transaction in a block you mine you can do so. You would need to make a custom bitcoin-qt. Otherwise by default it does it by priority which is based on fees.

Wow I had no idea.  See there are still so many little crevices of BTC, little secrets that stuff like this will prevent the masses from catching on.  Who would want to be involved in something like this?  Why not force everyone to mine one block so nothing funny can happen?

What is funny about it? The masses don't need to know how mining works to be honest. Do you know how the Western Union computer programs work? No you pay the fee and your money ends up with the other person.
