2401  Economy / Economics / Re: Toronto Man Scammed Over $2,000 by McDonald’s Mobile App on: May 16, 2019, 09:19:54 AM
Quote
Now, it appears more reports are coming in, with the latest seeing one Toronto man losing $2,000 via the McDonald’s mobile app, by yet another ‘Hamburglar’

This is just another example why many of us feel like nothing can be safe in our interconnected and online world as there will always be weaknesses, vulnerabilities, bugs, back door exploits and similar problems that can affect any system. At the end of the day, the consumers are the ones bearing the burden as these big corporations can take time to solve similar incidents. I am looking forward for the time when the blockchain technology can be utilized to safeguard and secure these payment facilities so that we can enhance the trust and confidence of them...this news is not serving well for the mainstream adoption of bitcoin and the likes as third party infrastructures can be exploited by genius hackers and scammers.
2402  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Amazon accept crypto if Bitcoin skyrocket again? on: May 16, 2019, 09:06:22 AM
They probably do not accept bitcoin due to regulatory and the volatility issues. Yes, adoption by big companies will certainly increase adoption but at what cost? Can the governments allow them on "unregulated" currencies?

The way i see it, Amazon will adopt bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies if they are sure enough that they can generate more revenues and business by offering this option. We all know that many merchants are complaining even before in 2017 that their expectations of sales coming those using cryptocurrency were not met. In 2019, we should be hoping this can change but if the mindset of many bitcoin holders is to speculate I don't think we can expect otherwise. There is no use of introducing another mode of payment and then not a critical number of people are availing of it all because many of us are holding our bitcoin tight in anticipation of a bigger bull run soon. This is just a matter of business strategy.
2403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Winter: Can We Prevent it From Happening Again? on: May 16, 2019, 08:36:56 AM

The year 2017 especially in its last quarter was the last time that bitcoin made its famous bull run but after that we experienced the bitcoin winter for much of 2018 and into the last few months of 2019. Now, we are officially on the bull run though we are not yet back to the 2017 level  relative to the price and the marketcap. Many analysts are now predicting that this around there is the big potential for bitcoin to test the waters beyond what was achieved in 2017 and if this will happen then it would be another historic mark for bitcoin.

I am wondering, do you think the same bitcoin winter can occur after the bull run? And can there be things that can prevent it from happening? Will history just repeat itself?
2404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The key to configuring on: May 16, 2019, 08:24:26 AM
The overwhelming majority of highly intelligent people I talk to still have no idea why Bitcoin is valuable.

We are extremely early. The ability to identify opportunity before others and take advantage of the information asymmetry is key.

Getting something like bitcoin to the mainstream is not that easy given the fact that there is no advertising budget and campaign for bitcoin similar to big corporations and well-oiled organizations can do. Since this is a decentralized kind of a beast, no one can claim its ownership that is why in the very early days bitcoin spread from one mouth to another. Right now, there are already many in the mainstream media that can pick up news on bitcoin especially if there is a bull run just what is happening right now...

I could not cite some statistics but it is safe to assume that majority of our people are not yet into bitcoin though a big percentage may have heard of it in the media so if one is into investing then the field remains to be wide and open for anyone to participate. Of course, one has to do his own due diligence and then understand that there will always risks involved. Good luck.
2405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The only safe haven currency is Bitcoin on: May 16, 2019, 07:44:31 AM
Bitcoin has been confirmed as the best safe haven currency in the world with the following reasons.

1) If they is a military war, someone can easily move out of their respective country with Bitcoin. Cash, gold, silver is much harder to deal on.

2) The only one Currency not controlled by a government or bank.

3) I will have to ask a general question? Why many governments are classing Bitcoin as a property & not a Currency.

My advice is keep buying Bitcoin and don't look back. Also don't forget LTC.

Bitcoin and the rest of the cryptocurrency platform is presenting us a different kind of alternative for wealth keeping. Indeed, just like the physical gold this can be a safe haven during difficult times but unlike the real gold there is no need to hide it somewhere but just in our digital wallets or even hardware wallets which we can just pick up anytime anywhere. Of course, the physical gold also has its own advantages but for now the focus is with bitcoin because of its big potential to be the game-changer we are all waiting for. As to why some governments are classifying bitcoin as a property rather than a currency, that is their call and prerogative we are all biased anyway and we have different perspective with things.
2406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Explain the cause of Bitcoin 'not coming down' on: May 16, 2019, 06:16:14 AM

What is happening with China and USA can certainly affect the movement of Bitcoin. it is quite possible that investors are looking for a good alternative where to stake their money with and provide some safe haven...and Bitcoin is one of the most viable alternatives for now. Another contributing factor is that we are now entering the FOMO stage where investors big and small do not want to miss the bull ride. This can increase the speculations on bitcoin which in turn can help it solidify its position for more upswing moves. In the next few days and weeks, there can be some good news on the horizon that can influence the movement of bitcoin and the more that institutional money can be coming in. We can soon be in a frenzy with many influencers speaking positive reviews on bitcoin and even other cryptocurrencies too.
2407  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-03] Bitcoin Can Still Get To $100k A Piece – Bitcoin Permabull Max Keis on: May 16, 2019, 06:03:06 AM
Quote
Max explained that people like Warren Buffett don’t have the brain power to understand the intricacies of the power of Bitcoin because they’re so used in their ways that they can’t adapt to new things. On that, Max isn’t alone. In 2018, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said people like Buffett are just too ignorant about cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is here to stay ignoring all naysayers including the respected and successful old-school Warren Buffet. Bitcoin lovers all over the world are celebrating the ongoing climb and we usually ignore people who are getting the media attention for taunting bitcoin. These days, as we are entering another bitcoin bull run, people famous and not are again floating their extravagant predictions on what bitcoin can accomplish this time...they are optimistic that bitcoin can beyond the $10,000 achieved in 2017 and sir Max Keis is even putting it at $100,000 which to me can be an overstretch already but then again if this can come true I will not be complaining a bit.
2408  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance KYC on: May 16, 2019, 05:36:13 AM
Is the only limit for not getting verified with Binance the 2 BTC per day withdrawal limit? For instance, are there any volume limits... as in can you withdraw say 100 BTC in 50 consecutive days?   Or any limits in the amount of BTC you can deposit? Asking because if that is the only limit, there isn't a reason for me to get verified.

Honestly, I have not yet exceeded the daily limit of 2 BTC so we are just assuming that the monthly limit must be around 60 BTC or maybe less. I have a verified account in Binance but I also happen to have two others which are not yet verified, obviously. As for me, Binance is actually that not strict compared to some other exchanges except the decentralized platforms. With the normalization of Bitcoin after the hack, I am sure that this exchange will still be on the top after successfully managing the great crisis with flying colors.
2409  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Finally neo started its momentum how long it can go?? on: May 16, 2019, 05:08:21 AM
Majority of all top 100 altcoins in CoinsMarketCap are mostly grown up together with ethereum after bitcoin surge. Yes, I also getting interested now with this NEO coin and it is pumping now the price and right at this moment, it is having $810,423,521 market cap which is good to have profit. I know all altcoins were going to pushing up and I still holding them as long as I saw there is profit.

I am now seeing many good altcoins pushed up by the influence of the bitcoin bull run just the way things were in 2017. In fact, it can now be safe to say that the whole cryptocurrency industry is indeed in the upswing mood and NEO holders are happy to note that it is now moving up along the rest of the industry. I believe that NEO has a good potential and its adoption is not that bad, actually. I remember that in 2017, NEO got some share of fame and generated some heat too. Let's hope that NEO is now really waking up and encourage the NEO people to seize this moment to push for the advantage of this coin.
2410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will the price of ETH be if the limit of supply is 200 million ? on: May 16, 2019, 05:03:30 AM

Despite its supposedly many flaws and limitations, I remain a big fan and user of Eth, of course along with Bitcoin which is my first love. There remains a good potential for Ethereum and if the people behind this cryptocurrency platform will do more interesting innovations and will push for more adoption by different industries, there is no reason why it will not be very valuable and truly the next-in-line to the King (which is Bitcoin). Bringing the supply up to 200 million can have consequences, of course as we know that in a free enterprise we are in supply and demand is the law that is always in motion. I am hoping that they think hard on this and they know the contingencies to lay down if in case this can push through.
2411  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-05-16] Bitcoin Bull Run Could Eclipse The Last Crypto Bubble on: May 16, 2019, 04:32:00 AM

As the leading crypto by market cap dusts itself off and picks itself up following an 85% fall over the last two years, bullish sentiment and exuberance are once again surrounding Bitcoin and the rest of the crypto market.

With a bottom essentially confirmed, the price of Bitcoin has risen sharply due to FOMO. The resurgence of speculative hope has caused may crypto analysts to reflect on the last crypto bull run that took Bitcoin to its all-time high of $20,000, and consider what’s changed since that could lead to an even larger bull run this time around.

Most crypto analysts expect the next bull run to eclipse all gains witnessed during the 2016-2017 bull cycle, and for good reason. One argument for why the next bull run will be “biblical” will be once again due to the public’s FOMO. “Normies” as one analyst calls them, now know that $20,000 BTC is possible, which could cause them to flock to the crypto asset in fear of missing out on another massive rally.

Source is here.

So we are now seeing may predictions that this time around the bull run can be so good it can surpass the $20,000 level in 2017. Many analysts are taking into consideration that we now have many good options, platforms and developments that never existed in 2017. Some of these factors are the presence of players like Cash App, Fidelity, Etrade, TD Ameritrade, Bakkt, ErisX, Robinhood and the rest of the gang. Right now, I am sure that institutional money can be coming in to the Bitcoin bandwagon as they don't want to experience FOMO and wanted to have a ride with the bull and make some profits. Plus the more that we read and assimilate positive news in both the mainstream and crypto-related media, the more that people are stimulated to go for Bitcoin.

Will it be: Bitcoin for the win?

2412  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-05-15] Binance Resumes Normal Operations With A $1.3M BNB Giveaway on: May 16, 2019, 04:22:13 AM
With how the crypto market moved during the past week it would be no wonder if Binance had somehow profited from their current holdings during the bull run. That 40 million dollars that was stolen could easily be recovered with the bull run they have, another proof of that is them having a million dollar giveaway with their own coin. But is a giveaway really what users are looking for? I guess not because what they really want to see is them giving an assurance that a hack won't ever happen again and that their capital is safe within their platform.

You are probably right that is why Binance is doing the giveaway to make things more excited and users can forget the debacle Binance got into recently. From the standpoint of a marketer, this is actually a good move and I appreciate the management of Binance for that. They know what they are doing and they know how to push their platform so that despite of the hack the cryptocurrency community as a whole remains at their side all throughout. Of course, Binance can issue statement that things are better now and that no hack will ever occur again but we know that only a god can guarantee it. There is actually no safe platform against the genius of today's hackers more so that the prize can be in the millions.
2413  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will mining be profitable again? on: May 16, 2019, 04:01:25 AM
Now that bitcoin is at 7000k plus is mining becoming profitable again? Or bitcoin still have to surge more in price before profitable mining returns?

I read somewhere that at $6,000 price of Bitcoin, mining can be profitable depending on the cost especially that of electricity in running the enterprise. Now, since we are now at the $8,000 level this can mean money to miners and with the miners ban in China this can be a good opportunity for newcomers to make a killing in this bull run. However, we know that mining is not profitable in many locations because of the expenses involved plus this business can be an issue with places with limited supply of power and sometimes politics can come into the picture complicating things.
2414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Right Now: Will Do A Bull Run Too? on: May 16, 2019, 03:56:19 AM
I hope so.. dam its a shame i sold my eth when it got $140 i bough them in $70  but i supposed this is all about getting profit and dont look back.. the main objective its no to loss money. and dont doubt your instint men.. the time i have doubt about it are the times i have lost the most. Just dont skip your stop loss

Good for you. My Eth experience is not actually so rosy. I bought some Eth when it reached $350 in 2017 thinking that it can go back to the $1000 level it once reached. Now, I am cheering Eth to go ahead and maybe at least reach $500 so that I can realize some good profits. I can still remember the days when I looked at the monitor and saw Eth at just $10...I should have bought at least 10 at that time but doubts creeped into my mind.
2415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / ETH Hits $270: $300 Next? on: May 16, 2019, 03:35:51 AM

Ethereum price surged significantly towards $270 versus the US Dollar, and jumped sharply vs bitcoin. ETH is in a major bull run and it seems like the price might even hit $300.

We saw a sharp increase in Ethereum price above $220 resistance against the US Dollar. The ETH/USD pair gained pace above the $225 resistance and rallied above the second target discussed this week. It broke the key $240 and $250 resistance levels to move further into a positive zone. The uptrend was such that the price gained more than 20% and even tested the $270 level. The price is currently well above the $260 level and placed nicely above the 100 hourly simple moving average.

Source: https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/05/16/ethereum-eth-price-surges-20-300-next/

Ethereum is now making its move...and though a little bit too late relative to the Bitcoin upward swing, I think nobody is complaining and holders are getting happy. I love Bitcoin but many of us are also into Eth and we love Vitalik Buterin, the man behind this cryptocurrency platform some are considering to be the heir apparent to Bitcoin but is also facing its own challenges in terms of adoption and innovations.

Can we expect Ethereum to fight against all odds and get into $500 before the end of 2019?
2416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Free Markets and the Future of Blockchain - Christopher Giancarlo on: May 15, 2019, 04:25:05 PM

This is a good discourse on the virtues of free capitalism and the many innovations that are happening right now which can definitely influence and build the kind of future we humans do share with each other. Free capitalism is not perfect and so do the other systems. I am sharing this ideal all because with free capitalism we also value freedom and though there will be regulations we usually abhor creativity-killing and insane controls by the people in power. In the face of the many challenges that humanity is facing right now, we need good ideas and actions that can stem the tide of negative developments. Hopefully, humanity as a whole can arrive to be the real victors with this dramatic shifts of many paradigms.
2417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin HAS intrinsic value. Easy explanation. on: May 15, 2019, 04:14:28 PM

Bitcoin's intrinsic value will always be debated as we are living in a very diverse society where it would be hard to make everybody agree on definition of value. So what can be valuable to me may be worthless to you. In fact, over time what can be valuable yesterday can mean nothing today and yet there is a possibility that can go back and be valuable tomorrow. So does it mean that the intrinsic value of Bitcoin can also be shifting? Well, that can be possible. The thing is that Bitcoin lovers and users do believe that it has a value of its own otherwise they are not gonna be riding the Bitcoin bandwagon. So what can judge the intrinsic value of Bitcoin then? I think we have to leave that to the market.
2418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: YoBit is a thief. on: May 15, 2019, 04:04:20 PM
Yobit had made a bad reputation already in the forum due to the scam accusations it had received. But I still don't know that Yobit signature campaign is still listed on Mitchell's post. I think it should be remove already if it is really a thief on scamming its users. Also they're running IEOs and please double/triple check before buying those especially for new to crypto, they should be aware of Yobit, seriously.

I was attracted to their campaign before and good thing that I never pushed it through. Yobit is one of the many exchanges that am avoiding as I don't wanna be part of the complain statistics we all read here in the forum. Well, we have many other cryptocurrency exchanges around so why stick with Yobit and risk our money in there? It would be a big pain in the ass if the token you are holding can only be exchanged in Yobit. We don't need an exchange like this...they should shape up, do something about their reputation and come out clean but I guess they won't since they are actually making good money with what they are doing.
2419  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: May 15, 2019, 02:57:37 PM
I forgot and don't really give a shit but had 10k ETN on there. So expecting to get maybe 1k back in 4 years. Heh, forced hodl. Oh yea had cefs too. Wonder how worthless all the other alts will be soon.

Good thing I never left any tokens nor coins in my Crytopia account. I don't know why but the exchange seemed to be not attracted to me even at the time when it got its share of some fame. Well, maybe because of their name Crytopia...I don't like the Cry part of their brand name. Sadly, the recent hack put the exchange on the grave. However, Binance is not that affected greatly when in fact they lost at least $40 million while Cryptopia was around $16 million. This can mean that Binance is much better financially and is managed well. Good luck to those who got still some funds in Cryptopia.
2420  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cheap Website Traffic - $1.00 for 100,000 Hits on: May 15, 2019, 02:48:32 PM
We are selling website traffic with CPM rates starting as low as $0.01.

You can create an account to buy traffic from us here: https://directadserver.com

At a $0.01 CPM rate, you're able to purchase 100,000 hits for just $1.00. You can purchase as much traffic as you want. The higher your CPM rate, the more traffic you'll obviously receive.

The offer is quite good but we know that most advertisers are looking for real traffic that can somehow convert. So I am wondering: Is the traffic coming from bots or similar schemes and not real humans? Please tell me more on this area because I am attracted at the rate but if there will be no single conversion at all then it can just be a big waste of time (not necessarily the money part but $5 is still $5.).
