2421  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-07-16]U.S. Treasury invites public to provide input on President Biden's.. on: July 19, 2022, 01:58:47 AM
@LeGaulois. Agreed. This is very head shaking if there are bitcoiners who would welcome regulation on bitcoin. If they want regulation, what would be the use of decentralization? What would be the use of wasting all the electricity to mine those bitcoins if bitcoiners accept and comply with the government's authority to allow or ban bitcoin?
2422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 19, 2022, 12:43:07 AM
@ChiBitCTy. I cannot find the video anymore, however, I had the impression that the handicapper who said it was very serious. He mentioned it was because the odds on Zach Wilson was 150 and it would be 3.00 by the middle of this season. He also mentioned that it was because the Jets have good additions for their offensive line to support their quarterback. I have not looked at the Jets' trades to confirm if this is true but it appears those rumors of Zach sleeping with his mother's friend is true hehehehhe.
2423  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: July 18, 2022, 06:11:26 AM
@JollyGood. It might be more complicated than the argument that the government of Italy is being a draconian state, I reckon. They might also be doing this for purposes of taxation which is the revenue source of the government. If international online casinos want to operate in Italy, they need to comply with Italian laws and pay proper taxes. Another purpose for this might be to help avoid their jurisdiction from being a place for money laundering.
2424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FUD Has Finally Taken Its Toll on Me on: July 18, 2022, 05:52:20 AM
@Crypto Bull. The reason for us to need decentralization is to make it very difficult for the government to enforce their laws and impose their command and control on the whole population. Similar to your concern, as bitcoin mining becomes more centralized, this makes it easier for the government to enforce the ban on proof of work mining. I am afraid that this might also open an argument for cryptocoins to hardfork to proof of stake which has never been done before.
2425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: July 18, 2022, 03:24:48 AM
It appears that for investors who are using an investment strategy to buy the dip, it is presently becoming a very good time to buy slowly without the fear of missing out hehehe. According to this article, bitcoin is under the longest period for extreme fear. The next millionaires of the cryptospace are buying while there is blood on the streets.

Bitcoin is now in its longest-ever 'extreme fear' period

This has now been quantified by the Crypto Fear & Greed Index, a tool that takes multiple sources into account to create an overall score of how the markets are feeling.

As of July 15, Fear & Greed has spent 70 days in its lowest bracket — "extreme fear" — marking of a new bearish record.

2426  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-06-03] New York just passed a bill cracking down on bitcoin mining on: July 18, 2022, 02:27:07 AM
And due to the heat in Texas miners in are shutting down:
https://www.theblockcrypto.com/post/151084/bitcoin-miners-in-texas-have-been-powering-down-amid-heatwave-and-record-electricity-demand

So just because you can move then and in general get cheap power / rent / whatever it does not mean it's good for your business.

Sorry but that's just the way it is. Shutting down now due to heat. Shut down earlier in the year due to winter storms:
https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/03/winter-storm-descends-on-texas-bitcoin-miners-shut-off-to-protect-ercot.html

So this is also part of the issue. Your staff still gets paid even if the mine is off, your rent still has to get paid, your insurance still has to get paid and so on.

How much are fixed costs costing them during this downtime.
Green / not green / cheap power / whatever does not help you if you can't run the miners.

-Dave

This is only part of the challenges of doing business in Texas. I am quite certain there are factories and manufacturers that are also affected by the higher electricity costs. I reckon depending on their 12 month projection, they can get a loan from a bank to support their cashflow until conditions for mining become more optimistic again. However, the problem might be many banks might not want to take the risk of giving a loan to a company that mines a volatile speculative asset.
2427  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-07-14] Nic Carter vs. The Bitcoin Maximalists on: July 17, 2022, 02:46:52 AM
It also appears the bitcoin maximalists are pushing away some of the smart people and support those people who are willing to continue the circle jerk. We should be more careful because this might be the community's own undoing.

If someone turns against the very essence of what Bitcoin stands for, then it is only logical that the community will turn against him in one way or another. I don't think that we lose that way, but on the contrary that we defend those positions that come from everything that Satoshi left us.

Did our community lose important people in the form of all those who were pro-Bitcoin and then a few years ago decided to try to destroy it by creating their own version of Bitcoin? Roger Ver, Faketoshi (CW), Jihan Wu, and many others who once meant something are now despised by the community, as well as some new traitors like Mr. Mars, who also did us great harm with his childish moves. We do not push anyone away from us, but we cannot be irresponsible and pretend that some people should have the status of gods and that they can do whatever they want.

What occured is an overreaction by some cultish maximalists within the bitcoin community which might clearly be very head shaking also for you. Nic Carter's venture fund invested in a seed round of a company who will develop a cryptocoin wallet. However, this wallet to be created is going to be a multicoin wallet. This has made some people in the bitcoin community see him as someone who has commited heresy hehehehehe.
2428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 16, 2022, 07:57:09 AM
@Baofeng. If Teofimo Lopez vs. Pedro Campa is the main event, can you also include the other fights in the list for this whole event? Brandon Figueroa vs. Carlos Castro was a fight last week that we did not discuss because we did not know it was part of Vargas vs. Magsayo hehehe.

@SammyGambler. I am very sorry, however, you should stop spamming this thread with your problem. We know it already and we cannot do anything about this except listen to your complaints and give you some suggestions on what to do. If you want to continue to talk about it, create a thread in scam accusations subforum.
2430  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-07-14] JPMorgan Says Bitcoin Cost of Production May Be Down to $13,000 on: July 16, 2022, 03:42:25 AM
It also might be because difficulty might be starting to go down again, similar to what happened on May to July 2021. There is no other explanation except some of the less competitive miners who cannot maintain a positive cash flow will decide to stop operating. This does not last for a long time, however. Cost of mining will rise again after a few months.
2431  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-07-14] Nic Carter vs. The Bitcoin Maximalists on: July 16, 2022, 02:25:13 AM
@bbc.reporter, I don't think that such individuals are important for Bitcoin, at least not in the long term and in the big picture.

I very much agree. I am only saying that the bitcoin community has lost a very intelligent man who has been making good arguments for why bitcoin should adopted by much of the people in the world. Many of his arguments are very much similar to Andreas Antonopolous.

It also appears the bitcoin maximalists are pushing away some of the smart people and support those people who are willing to continue the circle jerk. We should be more careful because this might be the community's own undoing.
2432  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cloudbet | Bitcoin Casino & Sportsbook | The No.1 Bitcoin Gambling Site on: July 15, 2022, 03:56:27 AM
^ I don't think so, I have a little bit of research on the scam accusation board and it seems there are too many threads that appear regarding cloudbet reputation. Usually and the common problem is that they don't read first the ToS of the casino and they commit a violation and then now, blame the casino because they are a scam. I don't know Cloudbet because I never played their gambling casino but I think the problem is that the Tos should be read.
Probably OP needs to extend here/his patient right now.
Yes they have had issues in the past just like any of the oldest casinos, I think I remember tagging them at one point when there was no response by them but they did come around and resolved the issue (that was the last time their rep account was active here). From that time, I haven't seen any major complaint about them in the scam accusations board.

When were those accusations made? If it was during a bear market, I speculate that similar to other businesses in the cryptospace that went through cashflow problems, Cloudbet might have also had a difficult time in balancing their accounting hehe. However, it has been tested that they will not scam their users. There might only be delays in withdrawals.
2433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 15, 2022, 03:27:37 AM

I believe PPV sharing is probably the main reason why they haven't come up with a deal yet. Spence's previous PPV buys are a little better than Crawford's. Spence also has more belts to offer in the division but Crawford is the only ATG of the two.

There's no other reasons, Crawford here has to agree with a small share because Spence will not agree with a 50/50 share.
he has more belts and he has a better PPV record in the past compared to Crawford.

We get it, Crawford is also a champion but Spence have proven enough based on the numbers he have.

However, Spence versus Crawford might be the biggest payperview revenue in the history of boxing. It might be more than the payperview numbers of Mayweather versus Pacman. It would be very stupid for Terence Crawford's team to not demand a share equal to Spence's share.
2434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to Sam Bankman-Fried, some Bitcoin exchanges are insolvent on: July 15, 2022, 02:20:54 AM
@stompix. Yes I am also very skeptical on what Sam's real agenda might be. Everyone should know that he is one of the largest donators to the democratic party in America. I speculate that he would be one of the first people who politicians will consult with in creating laws in regulating the cryptospace. He will certainly use this to gain an advantage against his competitors.
2435  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-07-14] Nic Carter vs. The Bitcoin Maximalists on: July 15, 2022, 01:33:37 AM
@Lucius. Yes this is a problem because much of the community only knows and listens to Max Keisler and Michael Saylor and consider them as something similar to leaders of the community. However, when you listen to them speak, they only extend the bitcoin maximalism circle jerk preaching like this is a religion. It is head shaking why many people listen to them.

In any case, I am not saying you are part of those people.
2436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: July 14, 2022, 06:28:38 AM
I know everyone in this thread hates the Cowboys, however, what is everyone's analysis and opinion on Dak Prescott?

Probably a better Bet than Lance but just. Wink

But just? I speculate Trey Lance might not be ready to be their first quarterback again for this season hehehe. This might also be why San Francisco does not want to trade Jimmy Garoppolo. I might be wrong, however, for those rookie quarterbacks of last year, it might be Mac Jones who might have a successful season this year.

San Francisco absolutely wants to trade Jimmy Garoppolo, they just haven't gotten any good enough offers yet.  It's the same thing as Baker Mayfield and the Browns.  They had to wait a while to trade him because teams simply weren't willing to give up much as well as it takes time after the draft for teams to get everything in order.  Not to mention the longer teams wait to go get a QB, the lesser that QB will cost. Both Jimmy and Baker aren't that great, and so teams knew other teams wouldn't rush to go get either and that they have time to negotiate the selling team down.  Jimmy may start, he may not.  A lot of "experts" predict that Lance will be their day 1 starter.  The other thing is he may become more valuable as the season goes on.  If a good and likely playoff bound team has a QB go down, then Jimmy G becomes pretty valuable as a solid game manager that could potentially get them to the SB as he won't help them win it as much as he won't likely help them lose it.

I agree with this, the 9ers are ready to move on from Garoppolo, and more importantly, so are the fans.  The trouble is it's just like ChiBitCTy said; Garoppolo isn't a great quarterback, but he's far from a bad one either.  He wins games, look no further than his record as a starter with 49ers for proof.  It's the must-win games and moments when he seems to have trouble.  I won't blame all that on Garoppolo, it's largely the coach's responsibility to get his players in the right mind set.  It's been obvious to Garoppolo and the fans that Shanahan doesn't trust him, and that's Garoppolo's biggest problem.

Look at the plays that Shanahan called during the fourth quarter of their Super Bowl loss, Shanahan wasn't playing Garoppolo to win, he was playing not-to-lose.

Okay I was wrong in speculating that Jimmy G remains to be wanted by his team hehe. However, in your honest opinion, should Kyle Shanahan trade Garoppolo and put all his trust on Trey Lance as first quarterback for this new season?

In any case, I saw someone mention in social media that Zach Wilson is a good bet for the regular season's MVP. I do not know if this is a joke because of those sleeping with mom's friend news or if the Jet's offensive line really has improved with new trades.
2437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 14, 2022, 05:12:50 AM
It appears that we have 2 sexy fighting kittens for this event hehehe. Miesha "Cupcake" Tate and Michelle "Karate Hottie" Waterson.

Karate Hottie appears to be very underestimated for this fight. She is more experienced in the octagon and she also has improved her wrestling skills to control those opponents that are bigger than her. Amanda Lemos is strong, however, she is also not very good.

There other sexy fighting kitten might not be a kitten. She is a sexy fighting leopard hehehe. I do not mind to my money in her. She is also a former champion who should never be underestimated.

This meme was shared by a respected whale and social media influencer. The logo on the left is Celsius, the logo on right is 3 Arrows Capital. The face in the middle is Sam Trabucco, the CEO of Alameda Research, a cryptoventure fund and market maker connected to FTX.

I am not quite certain what is being implied in this meme, however, Celsius, 3 Arrows are bankrupt and Alameda Research was discovered to have an unpaid loan with Voyager.

@Daltonik, @adaseb, @zasad@. Do you have your own speculations on this?
2439  Bitcoin / Press / [2022-07-14] Nic Carter vs. The Bitcoin Maximalists on: July 14, 2022, 03:05:12 AM
How is bitcoin maximalism presently taken by everyone in bitcointalk? Is it still strong or is it beginning to become weaker after 10 years?

In any case, the bitcoin community lost a smart man when it went against Nic Carter. I do not agree with all of his arguments, however, he is certainly one of the best representatives for bitcoin with arguements based on reality. Many people might disagree but he is certainly smarter than Max Keisler.

The fight began when Carter and his fund, Castle Island Ventures, announced an equity investment in a start-up called Dynamic. Dynamic is building a wallet-based platform with decentralized identity features, one of the most interesting applications of Web3 technology.

The problem is that Dynamic is multichain. For self-declared bitcoin maximalists, this amounts to heresy. That’s almost literal, as we’ll get into, because bitcoin maximalism possesses many features of a religion – and maxis were under the impression Carter was one of them.

Someone said that the crypto gambling space is like a wild west... I guess this situation proves that claim!

I only had one account. They (sandboxcasino and owlGames) are holding their hat on the fact I used the same VPN IP address as these other players.

Free or paid VPN?! What do you have? ...if it's free I think it's that gray zone, and in the wild west stronger always wins!

It was a paid VPN that offers a free 7 day trial.  I even provided them proof of purchase showing I used it well after any other accounts they claimed I was associated with. Sandboxcasino knows damn well I’m NOT associated with any low limit bonus abuser account. I played high limit $360/spins and never used a bonus.

Sandboxcasino completely dodged any questions and refused to provide requested documentation to CasinoGuru complaint. Their replies show they never had any intention of paying me.  I’m sure sandboxcasino felt empowered to use multiple excuses because they had the backing of OWL.GAMES who interjected their comments in my emails to Sandboxcasino.  I blame sandboxcasino for being a scam casino and owl.games for allowing them to perpetuate the scam using the software they provided.  Not only am I out the $4,700 I deposited, but I’m also out the life changing $127,000 I won fair and square.

Here is the CasinoGuru complaint where sandboxcasino management dodges questions and responsibility:

https://casino.guru/sandboxcasino-io--player-s-struggling-to-withdraw

Have you checked your Binance smartchain wallet already? I am quite certain there is $5k in BUSD held in there because the wallet is controled only by you.

In any case, we also have a scam accusations subforum where you can create a thread and you can tell what happened to you and Sandboxcasino with more details. Showing screenshots of emails and transactions will certainly help.
