1561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: February 24, 2023, 04:53:49 AM
No! I underestimated the effect of winning Bafta on the oddsmakers' decisions
Big part for that odds drop is due the fact that All Quiet won the most awards and that's something that barely anyone expected. I kinda expected 1917 winning many awards few years ago (it was their movie after all and it also won 7), I didn't expect so many awards for this one. I guess Brits are fan of war movies.

This is the type of odds changes that happened on Coda.
While odds on Coda were initially very high (~26  after nominations were released), few days before the ceremony odds dropped to only ~2 and Power Of The Dog was a slight favorite with ~1.8. I will wait a little bit more to see how situation develops and if odds keep dropping sharply I might bet on it so another CODA doesn't happen to me. Tongue

I speculate that it might drop more after the Oscar votes are completed on March 2 to March 7. If All Quiet's odds become only 3.50 or lower, we can assume that the a antiwar agenda in Hollywood is real hehehe. This is certainly a good movie for it because it ended with the German soldiers not wanting to go back on the field anymore after being given their last orders by their uncaring leaders and generals.

You should bet with me while the odds remain to be quite good. Do not wait for the leaks to arrive after March 7 heheehe.

1562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The FSB brings more regulations worldwide for this summer: More MICA on: February 24, 2023, 03:27:48 AM
Good job, you asked for regulations claiming it will help the mass adoption? While it does the opposite...
MICA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) et TFR (Transfer of Funds Regulation) will be worldwide very soon

Hehe I very much agree! This is certainly because much of the people in the community are using the coins in the cryptospace for speculation. They think regulations will make it much easier for more people buy and pump their coins to all time high. They also think that regulation will bring validity that they made the correct decision on their investment.

Regulations will only bring more control on the how much liquidity can go in the cryptospace market. This implies that with less liquidity there will be less pumps. It will also bring more restrictions on how to use the cryptospace. This implies that it will be less attractive to use for moneylaundering, tax evasion and other forms of criminality. This will also certainly make the price dump.
1563  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury - February 26 in Saudi Arabia on: February 24, 2023, 02:18:38 AM
They just had their first face to face at the press conference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ho4nda7fLJg

What I found funny/interesting is Jake proposed a double or nothing bet to Tommy that if he loses Tommy gets double his purse and Jake gets nothing and even had the contract/bet ready to sign: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZClH_f-k9M

Tommy's dad John Fury was quick to accept quite vocally but Tommy didn't seem too sure and looks like he tried to start a scuffle to change the topic haha. Tommy has seemed very confident up until that. I guess if he was so sure he would gladly take the bet but I don't blame him if he doesn't. Potentially going home with nothing would probably be too much to handle.

Tyson is over there now so maybe his presence will add a bit of extra spice.

This would be very funny for the loser who will go home with nothing except blacks and blues hehehehe.

I reckon the hesitation from Tommy was not because he was not confident. It was because he did not know what to tell Jake. This might be because it was not for him to make the decision. It appeared for me that it might be the father who decides and manages the financial decisions for this fight. Tommy can blame John on Monday hehehehehe.
1564  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: February 24, 2023, 01:06:22 AM
Today's latest news regarding the FTX case says that currently a new Indictment was opened against SBF which contains 12 indictments now.
But what is sticking out now is that in one of the indictments it is alleged that the SBF has committed a conspiracy to make unlawful political contributions and defraud the federal election commission.
This will be a new chapter in the problem that he is facing because now it's not just about FTX anymore if the charges like this even though it is indeed inseparable from FTX because the funds provided by SBF are estimated to be more than $ 10 million.

According to the indictment, his motivation was to keep regulators away from his precious cryptoverse. “The defendant, perpetuated his campaign finance scheme at least in part to improve his personal standing in Washington, D.C., increase FTX’s profile, and curry favor with candidates that could help pass legislation favorable to FTX or Bankman-Fried’s personal agenda, including legislation concerning regulatory oversight over FTX and its industry,” prosecutors wrote.

What does unlawful unlawful political contributions and defraud the federal election commission imply? Are they trying to imply that Sam was bribing some politicians?

I reckon that this also proves that everything Sam did in the cryptospace and the political sphere was not done only by Sam. The moves of Sam was really the moves of his backers and some of those backers might be part of a political group. If they do not want Sam to become a whistleblower they should support him or Epstein him. I do not want to see him Epsteined.
1565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIX THE MONEY - FIX THE WORLD #Bitcoin on: February 23, 2023, 02:15:49 AM
I love Bitcoin but I don't love that slogan. Bitcoin is Bitcoin and its most important mission is giving people freedom of what they own (be their own banks) and better if they invest smartly they will get financial freedom too.

I disagree with statements to over emphasize missions of Bitcoin. It is not here to fix everything on Earth. It is unable to fix local or global economics or social, politics problems and other issues in other areas.

To make Bitcoin more friendly with the crowd, I don't think we should spread that statement that can makes side effects.

I very much agree. We should also be realistic about this and try to see everything from an unbiased eye. On account of bitcoin's monetary policy alone, it will certainly cause it to be unstable and as an effect it will be difficult for it to fix money because of this. I am sorry if it appears that I am antagonizing again, however, we should live in reality.
1566  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-12-16] Germany calls for global regulation of the cryptospace on: February 23, 2023, 01:57:01 AM
I reckon no amount of stricter regulations will stop the more advanced type or the higher level scammers similar to Sam Bankrupt-Fried who, has the political connections and who has wealthy financial backers that can finance their criminal and moneylaundering operations. Everyone should become very much aware of this.

I would be shaking my head if we, the commoners of the cryptospace, would support a move for stricter global regulations in crypto. This will only make the use of cryptocoins, Defi and other protocols harder for us commoners, however, it will certainly not make it more difficult for those higher level criminals to create and fund their scams in crypto.

Cryptocurrency regulation is currently a focal point for regulators and lawmakers all across the world. Regulators have been tightening the noose around the crypto industry to safeguard consumers from bad actors.

The colossal fall of the FTX crypto exchange has alarmed regulators even more, and lawmakers are trying to bring effective and efficient crypto regulation into place.

The president of BaFin has censured the current synopsis of the regime that governs the crypto sectors as not strict enough. This points toward the condition where the industry will not be able to keep bad actors in control.

Read in full https://bitcoinist.com/germany-calls-global-regulation-of-crypto-industry/

I do not think that Germany fully understands the concept of decentralized finance. They are still thinking of crypto in terms of digital money, like Paypal. They are completely leaving out the issue of the unregulatable nature of smart contract swapping of crypto. Especially when it comes to DeFi.

How exactly do they think they can demand KYC from every single person with a self-custody wallet? How are they even going to find the people the wallets belong to? Do they just hope that everyone with a wallet makes themselves known? Or are they going to demand unreasonable and impossible KYC demands for service/goods providers who accept Bitcoin?

All these demands from unknowing politicians are just empty threats, because they cannot actually do anything. I am certain that they only demand more to be done as a way to make themselves look good (as in PR stunts) by pretending like they have found a solution of somehow centralizing a decentralized, anonymous money. Lets not forget, they have not even been able to control Bitcoin as they would a regular security. And Bitcoin has been unrestrained for over a decade now.

What chance do they think they have with DeFi? Not even mentioning privacy coins like Monero. At some point they will realize that they cannot attack the end points like crypto exchanges because there are always other ways to buy and sell crypto. Its over. The governments can only kick and scream now. We have won.

The fact that the oldest crypto, Bitcoin, has not been put on a leash by the government is the greatest proof of this.

They can only declare that those Defi tokens issued will not pass the howie test and charge them to be illegal securities. It has not discouraged the developers and project creators, however hehehe.

Also, you mention Monero and privacy. There will be more development on privacy 2nd layers on Ethereum that Defi developers can test and later use. Presently there is Loopring, ZKsync, ZKspace and Aztec. I reckon there are a few more others being developed.
1567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: February 22, 2023, 04:24:23 AM

I encountered a Facebook post from the sports page that John Riel Casimero is now ranked #5 in the Super Bantamweight in WBO.

But checking the current rankings, he is still not ranked by the WBO and still, only WBC ranked him. I don't know if that's just a made-up article lol.

I would be happy if that happened since Casimero is now getting an inch closer to a possible title match.
With so many fights that will happen this year, I am sure his rank will go higher as they are all focused on defeating Inoue. New blood, they may want to have a taste of him.
Luis Nery didn't waste the opportunity to go up the ladder and defeated Azat Hovhannisyan in a TKO and now he is getting near the tile.
Casimero, as I checked my favorite rankings website is just below them.
Very soon he will be up against the top contenders and a possibility for his aim to fight Inoue or getting back his championship title.
That's interesting, if given a chance Casimero will not waste any to bring his name back on top, though it's a new division but the good thing here is he might have that chance to fight Inoue, if both will continue to win on their respective upcoming fights the chance that we might see negotiations between both camps is very possible.

Patience is a virtue here. If we hope to see that time will come for both of them inside the same ring, it's really something that might take place.

This move to a higher weight division will be good for Casimero because he had problems in weight cutting before in bantamweight. However, he might wait for a very long time before he can get his opportunity to challenge the monster hehehe. Inoue has his ambition to unify the championships of the super bantamweight division and be the first fighter to do it. This implies that if he is the winner against Fulton he will accept the rematch then he will challenge Akhmadaliev for the unification. It also implies that also this fight will also have a rematch clause.

Casimero should also first prove himself by challenging Fulton or Akhmadaliev if they lose twice each against Inoue. The problem however is Inoue might go higher again to featherweight.
1568  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 22, 2023, 03:50:52 AM
For the latest odds, Caleb Plant is the underdog,

And so it seems that Benavidez power is the overwhelming reasons why he is big favorite, as for Caleb 3:1 underdog good already for a ML bet. I will agree with the odds maker, gonna be hard for Caleb to score a win against a hard hitting David Benavidez who has one mission, to have a fight with Canelo Alvarez in the future.

Plant might win some rounds in the beginning because of his experience hehe. However yes, very much similar to Canelo, it will be Benavidez's strength and his physical presence that will cause him to win this fight. It can also be argued that Benavidez has more strength and physical presence than Canelo.

In any case it appears that much of the voters have the correct vote. Benavidez by technical knockout or knockout. What round does everyone predict for the knockout?
1569  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽🎮🎲 Coinplay.com | Brand New Crypto Sportsbook & Casino on: February 22, 2023, 02:20:20 AM
In fact, almost all casinos as well as betting platforms work on the same 'white lebel'. The only things that can make one be seen as better or worse are the terms of the welcome bonus, the quality of the service and the speed of any withdrawals. Both games and other services differ little one from the other. Will Coinplay prove determined enough to be among the top casinos? that is entirely up to them. So far the offering is very similar to other casinos and bookmakers. And time will tell if they want to be one of the best or one of the many.

On your question if coinplay.com will be among the top casinos. Presently, we cannot honestly know the answer because it is new. However, on what you told everyone that their offering is similar to other bookmakers and sportsbooks, I disagree. Coinplay is only one of the very few that has a unique offering for special bets on predicting outcomes on cinema and tv games.

I am presently looking at this bet on the movie Creed 3 hehe. Coinplay is offering a bet if the movie's domestic box office opening weekend in America will be over $28.5 million or under.

https://coinplay.com/line/tv-games/1033765-special-bets-cinema/160268579-creed-iii-opening-weekend-box-office

Creed 1 made $30.1 million in the domestic box office on the opening weekend. Creed 2 made $35.3 million during Thanks giving weekend. Their Rottentomato ratings are very good with 91% fresh pick and 83% fresh pick. However, because of the bad American economy and because Silvester Stallone will not be in the movie, I reckon it might not do similarly well as Creed 1 and 2. It might make under $28.5 million in the box office.
1570  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-02-12] Daily Raids on Crypto Farms as Abkhazia Intensifies Mining Crackdow on: February 22, 2023, 01:13:22 AM
Authorities in Abkhazia are stepping up efforts to clamp down on cryptocurrency mining amid electricity shortages in the winter months. The government of the breakaway Georgian region announced it’s also taking measures to prevent imports of mining equipment.

Source: https://news.bitcoin.com/daily-raids-on-crypto-farms-as-abkhazia-intensifies-mining-crackdown/

If electricity is really cheap and the government is corrupt similar to much of the 3rd world countries, we can assume that it would be easy for lawless minded miners to smuggle their mining equipment in their jurisdiction and mine illegally.

Also, the crackdown on legitimate miners will be good for the illegal miners because difficulty will go down and give them a bigger percentage of the total hashrate. There might be a future where illegal miners will make up more of the total than legitimate miners if all jurisdictions around the world begin cracking down on bitcoin mining. It will certainly not stop the criminals if there is money earned. Illegal bitcoin mining can also be funded by our favorite hustlers in the cryptospace to continue the party heheheeh.
1571  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: February 21, 2023, 05:36:12 AM
^^ Isn't it kinda late though? 6 weeks will not be enough to prepare both fighters, although Davis just had a tune up, while Ryan chooses to not to go that way. So he might be in a disadvantage unless he is really training already or this fight.

But in any case, it's a good update for this fight and maybe we can say that 99% that it is going to happen.

Maybe around April-June would be my guesstimate on this fight.

Tank Davis might not have rested and continues to train after his recent fight and Ryan Garcia might presently be training for Tank before the cancellation of his own fight scheduled on January. I also assume that Tank and King Ry signed the contract for April 15. They might be ready to fight next month if they did not need time for promoting this hehehe. Only an injury would cause a postponement for this fight, I reckon.
1572  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: February 21, 2023, 04:46:58 AM
I am quite certain that there will be leaks of information and it will show another change in the odds. If All Quiet has another reduction of odds, we can speculate that the Hollywood agenda is presently an antiwar agenda hehehe.
Since you keep speculating that Hollywood might push anti-war agenda this year, did you bet on All Quiet yet before odds go more down?

No! I underestimated the effect of winning Bafta on the oddsmakers' decisions. The day after the announcements of winners of Bafta, the odds went from 34.00 to 27.00 in Coinplay. In Sportsbet it went from 30.00 to 17.00. I thought that I can wait for my next signature payment and deposit in Coinplay to bet the 27.00 odds. I looked at the odds again and it is only presently on 7.45! I will still bet this! This is the type of odds changes that happened on Coda. I will also bet on best adapted screenplay and best sound for All Quiet.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: February 21, 2023, 03:17:12 AM
@SUPERSAIAN. It would certainly be better to concentrate on Ethereum NFTs because this is where much of the interest belongs. NFTs are illiquid in nature already, it would be difficult to resell those NFTs on other platforms will much less liquidity than Ethereum.

I think nearly all of the newer projects coming out from here on in will likely fail long-term. Some of the older ones (like 2021) that survive will have a rebound. Doodles, CoolCats, World of Women and Gutter Cats come to mind. Also some of the other (original) women-led collections will likely do well again, but less likely the new ones. I won't name names but you can DYOR to find some of these firsts.

While I do think BAYC and CryptoPunks remain overvalued, I still think they'll hold their 50-100 ETH valuations in the coming years. Maybe just not increase against Ethereum that much.

Personally though I'm still a big fan of MoonCats, mainly as it's one of the original 2017 collections. It's only been trading for 18 months though so has a long way to go.

However, the older NFTs you have mentioned are very expensive and it would be difficult for much of the new investors of the succeeding bull market to own them. I reckon the newer investors would be looking for cheap NFTs with hardworking development teams very much similar to the projects that I have mentioned before, Dr/vrs NFT and Tokyo Rebels.

There is also another project that had their mint that ended only yesterday. This project is Kult Dolce.

https://kultdolce.io/

This is presently on a listing pump hehehe. It will certainly be much better to wait for price to dump first before buying for your collection.
1574  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [Updated] FTX on: February 21, 2023, 02:38:48 AM
@Rikafip. There might be a twist in the ending of this movie if Sam Bankrupt-Fraud's backers remain in support of him. It might become Sam being the witness against those who have already pleaded guilty because the backers cannot allow Sam to be the person on trial because if he pressured enough, he might begin talking and become a whistleblower on a much bigger conspiracy that might include people from the Democratic party, moneylaundering and the war in Ukraine.
If there is a much bigger conspiracy and if those involved are afraid of him talking, he will be dealt with in the same way Epstein was as that's the only way to be absolutely sure he will keep quiet. So no, I don't believe  in that scenario in which SBF testifies against those who already pleaded guilty and have deals with prosecution not to go to jail if they cooperate.

Edit: some good news coming for FTX Japan users as allegedly they will be able to start withdrawing their money by the end of this month.

According to a Feb. 17 report from Bloomberg, FTX Japan sent out notifications asking users to verify their account balances as part of the process to begin allowing withdrawals. Seth Melamed, chief operating officer of the exchange, reportedly said users could transfer assets to accounts on the FTX-owned Liquid Global platform, with withdrawals expected to begin “very soon.”

News outlet NHK reported that FTX Japan had roughly 19.6 billion yen in cash — more than $138 million at the time — when it ceased operations in November

Similar to what I have said before in another thread, Sam did not kill himself hehehe. What I also speculate might be the storyline for Sam's trial is it will be mentioned that Changpeng Zhao triggered the dump on FTT, also causing the liquidity cascades on Alameda Research's leveraged trades because they used FTT as collateral and which also caused the collapse of FTX because it credited user deposits to Alameda Research. For this, the backers of Sam might also crackdown on CZ and Binance after the trial.
1575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: February 20, 2023, 03:40:20 AM
Winners of BAFTA awards have been announced tonight and it will be interesting to see whether that affects the Oscar odds, especially for "All Quiet On The Western Front" that managed to scoop 7 awards. I'll mention winners of the few most important awards only and you can find the rest in this article.

Best film: "All Quiet On The Western Front"
Leading actor: Austin Butler for "Elvis"
Leading actress: Cate Blanchett for "Tar"
Director: Edward Berger for "All Quiet On The Western Front"
Original Screenplay: "The Banshees Of Inisherin" by Martin Mcdonagh
Cinematography: "All Quiet On The Western Front"

All Quiet On The Western Front has also won the best adapted screenplay category in Bafta and changed the odds from 3.45 to 2.84 in coinplay.com. For best picture their win in Bafta changed the odds from 34.00 to 27.00.

https://coinplay.com/line/tv-games/2434063-academy-awards-2023

If you are a supporter for All Quiet On The Western Front, wait for the final voting of the academy members on March 2 to March 7. I am quite certain that there will be leaks of information and it will show another change in the odds. If All Quiet has another reduction of odds, we can speculate that the Hollywood agenda is presently an antiwar agenda hehehe.

This gives me relief, I thought the fight would never happen this year, but here we go folks. Per Mike Coppinger, both fighters have already signed for an April 15 superfight in Las Vegas.
Well, everyone thought the fight might happen in May, but nah it's a month earlier than expected. Can't wait for this fight.

This is a very good news update! It appears both of the teams of Tank and King Ry are quite certain that they can promote this superfight quite easily if they remained to keep the date on April 15. It is only 8 days left for February and they only have 1 month and 2 weeks after this for promotions and letting everyone know about the fight and convince everyone to buy tickets and pay per views.

1578  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye Bear Market :) on: February 20, 2023, 12:58:34 AM
@thecodebear. You might be correct because if the speculation that Asia is presently pumping bitcoin from the bottom, the Asian traders might be rotating their trades to other coins. However, the altcoins that they might be rotating to might not be the common altcoins where the American and European traders rotate to. If you check the coins in Kucoin, presently the coins that are pumping more than 10% in 24 hours are projects that were created in China, Singapore and Vietnam.

In any case, for the people from Asia, how is the economy in your country? Is it slowing down similar to the economies of Europe and America? If it is not, then I am more certain on the speculation that Asia will begin the bull market and America and Europe will catch the bubble pop hehehehe.
1579  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2023-02-02] There’s a wild theory that the price of Bitcoin is being propped up on: February 19, 2023, 03:25:30 AM
@Kryptowerk. Agreed. This wild theory is not really very shocking, I reckon. There are some evidences that Tether and Binance BUSD might have already been fractionalizing on certain times to pump the cryptospace. No one agrees when I say this, however, Tether and BUSD operating mostly outside of regulated jurisdictions, if they can be fractionalized, it will certainly be fractionalized. The comedy here is they are fractionalizing above a fractionalized fiat currency hehehehe.
1580  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Operation Chokepoint 2.0 (Biden's administration quitet ban on crypto) on: February 18, 2023, 03:16:52 AM
They also use other tactics to divide the people and create a setting where communities will fight against each other to make it much harder to see the real enemy. A divided community is easier to manipulate because they only think that their enemy is from the opposite side of the argument, however, the real enemy is the one creating the division.

I think the problem is deeper than "them" creating divisions. That would suggest that if "they" (however you define them) stopped doing that, everything would be fine.
What we witnessed in recent decades is a massive erosion of what used to be common values that kept societies and communities together.
To not be divided means to be united, and for that, you need to unite around something. If people can't agree on basic values or agree on any principles and on what's right or wrong - you're ending up with a low-trust society where everyone cares mostly about themselves. Such a society is very easy to control.

You are correct and this massive erosion of common values is called demoralization. This is done through the use of years of a common tactic we very much know within the cryptospace community called fear, uncertainty and doubt. The real enemy who wants to create a division uses different media outlets for fakenews, clickbaits and information manipulation to cause the people question their own beliefs. If they begin to question their own beliefs, they are starting to be demoralized. I reckon the Russians and Chinese have been doing this tactic in America.
