1501  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: March 16, 2023, 01:57:24 AM
If CZ was indeed serious and genuinly wanted to protect his users he would put the whole 1 billion USD into bitcoin only and not spread it across two other altcoins.
And miss an opportunity to pump his centralized BNB coin? The fact that he even puts BNB in the same category as bitcoin is laughable. BNB is just as centralized and just as risky as BUSD.

I made a similar reply but only jokingly hehehe. However, my serious reply is I speculate that CZ might not pump the coins that he mentioned. I reckon it would be a more careful decision for him to wait when Bitcoin, Ethereum and Binance smartchain have gone down after a pump. He announced his intention already. If he pumps this, there will certainly be whales who will buy before him and dump on him.
1502  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ChipMixer.com has been seized. on: March 16, 2023, 12:29:48 AM
What will happened to those who use the mixer previously. Is there a chance that my Bitcoin will be connected by Bitcoin use from money laundering or we are still safe? I use Chipmixer every week to mix my coins. It’s sad to read this bad news.  Cry

Agreed. This is very much similar to how the government has arrested Tornado Cash's developer for creating a tool to protect someone's anonymity and privacy. I reckon if a car was used by a criminal to kidnap someone, the government cannot arrest the car company or if a cellphone was used as detonator for a car bomb that killed hundreds of people, the government cannot arrest the cellphone company.

I will quote some important things from here: https://www.justice.gov/opa/press-release/file/1574581/download

As explained further below, NGUYEN used the moniker “ChipMixer” on the
popular bitcoin message board BitcoinTalk (available at bitcointalk.org). On May 18, 2017,
NGUYEN, as “ChipMixer,” posted (or caused to be posted) to BitcoinTalk that he was looking
for testers for a new bitcoin mixing service. On May 26, 2017, NGUYEN announced in a new
thread that he was “Introducing ChipMixer,” which he described as “Mixing reinvented for your
privacy.” Since then, “ChipMixer” has made over 400 posts to BitcoinTalk, the majority of
which involve addressing questions about ChipMixer. As of March 2023, NGUYEN’s
“ChipMixer” account was still active on BitcoinTalk. Further, since May 15, 2017, NGUYEN

Does this imply that there are government agents who are reading our posts and following some accounts who might be a danger to society hehehee?
1503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 15, 2023, 02:42:01 AM
@ChiBitCTy. The Jets might do better if they traded for someone else. Aaron Rodgers will be 40 years old and his performance were not very good much of the games I remember. However, if the Jets are not seaching for a quarterback that would bring them to the post season, Rodgers might be their quarterback hehe.

@DireWolfM14. However if the 49ers trade and have Lamar in their team, would you say that he can increase the odds for San Francisco to win a superbowl?
1504  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: March 15, 2023, 02:15:37 AM
@Rikafip. I reckon CZ might be holding much of this $1 billion in bitcoin because it has the most volume and also has much of the liquidity in the market. However, the skeptical me thinks that if he pumps bitcoin he cannot ignore his own Binance smartchain and because of this he might get criticism, so he needs also to include Ethereum in his list heheheheh.
1505  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: March 15, 2023, 01:27:26 AM
Now I know the reason why it has increased in price. That's a lot, and you could've made money when it was down. That's the hard part of trading and knowing when to buy and sell. You will never know what could happen in the short term, especially in the long run. Who would've expected that it would go down and immediately rise again? That's just the volatility that we are experiencing.

There is a lot of money in the market, and imagine that $1bn is just a drop, like what?? That's a lot in some countries.

However, it is not only CZ's $1 billion entering the market. It appears like Paolo Ardiono has begun printing USDT again hehehe.

Tether minted $2 billion USDT in Ethereum and Tron.

It might only be a small drop for the market, however, this is bullish news that causes everyone to buy in excitement and pump bitcoin and other cryptocoins.
1506  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New York Attorney General Sues KuCoin on: March 15, 2023, 12:35:02 AM
It's not today's news, it was 2 days ago news, there was even a related discussion about it on this forum a day ago.
Still, I guess I missed the other thread and I'm kinda glad OP started up this one.

Wasn't NY supposed to be the new "crypto capitol" a while back?  There was somebody who was even going to rent an entire block and try to turn it into a bunch of bitcoin-related businesses.  Whatever their status is, the state's actions speak loud and clear that they're very much pro-regulation, and I'd say they're going too hard with this one.

Not surprising I guess, since NY was one of the first states to be on Binance's blacklist, and you can't even use instant exchanges like ShapeShift if your IP is from New York (are they even still around?).  I'm giving two middle fingers to the Empire State, and no offense to DaveF or anyone else who lives there who might be reading this.

It was only assumed to be the crypto capitol because everyone also speculated that what regulations the state of New York might create, the other states might follow. It did not occur as speculated, however. What really occurred was New York was only isolated from the cryptospace and it appears that the Biden administration also wants to isolate the whole country.

This is head shaking because much of the protocols that are being created in the cryptospace Defi category have the quality of avoiding regulations hehe.
1507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 14, 2023, 02:22:20 AM
I generally don't agree with Academy when it comes to Best Picture winners (looking back at the last ~15 years, the only time I actually agreed with them was Nomadland), this is the first time I disliked the winner so much I couldn't even finish it and probably won't even give it a 2nd chance. Kudos to Everything Everywhere All at Once though, not an easy feat to win 7 Oscars, especially not for movie with smaller production.

Biggest surprise for me was that The Banshees of Inisherin didn't win a single Oscar. While I knew that Colin Farrell beating Brendan Fraser is unlikely (even though i preferrede Colin's performance), I still hoped for at least for Best Original Screenplay but I guess since movie didn't have any woke bs, chances to win anything were slim to none.

Needless to say I failed miserably at betting because I went for those who I though should win, not for those who I thought would probably win. Cheesy

It appears the Oscars have been looking for movies with happy endings for 2 years. It might be because of the pandemic, the war in Ukraine and other negative news. However, I speculate that Russia's invasion of Ukraine will not be avoidable and the threat of a nuclear war will be the biggest storyline in mainstream news media. On account of this, my next bet for best picture for the next Oscar awards is Oppenheimer, directed by Christopher Nolan who will be my bet for best director. Hollywood will be on the nuclear war fear agenda hehehehee.
1508  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 14, 2023, 01:46:11 AM
@ChiBitCTy. Aaron Rodgers will not go to the Las Vegas Raiders? I always speculated that Las Vegas would be his next team after the Raiders traded for Davante Adams. They might need that type of partnership to bring them to the post season.

Also, it appears Lamar trade to the 49ers speculation is growing. This does not imply that it will be an effortless negotiation, however.

Then you have Lamar Jackson. The Baltimore Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on the former NFL MVP, giving them the right to match any offer from an interested team.

Kawakami believes the 49ers are (or were) intrigued by the possibility. At the very least, they probably haven't dismissed the idea, and the writer doesn't believe they should.

"I checked around myself on Wednesday and was told that the 49ers are looking at everything, as always," Kawakami wrote.

He notes that the 49ers were not included in a list of organizations seemingly ruled out of a potential Jackson sweepstakes—teams like the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Washington Commanders, and Miami Dolphins.

1509  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase to Suspend Binance USD (BUSD) Trading on: March 14, 2023, 01:08:55 AM
Also, CZ should start asking for assistance from his backers from China.
Because you mentioned China here,is it possible that what Binance is experiencing is some government stretching it's invisible handle to try and send a message to its other counterpart... Something we have seen in the Huawei China trade war.

And of all exchanges why are other exchanges delisting Binance assets when they too have their utility tokens listed on other exchanges, and btw Coinbase isn't the first to do this either, there is a long list of exchanges delisting them.

I very much agree that there is someone who is sending CZ a message and it might be someone from the American government or from the American side of the cryptospace industry. It might be the backers of Sam Bankrupt-Fraud from the Democratic party hehe? CZ was the one who triggered the liquidity cascade for Alameda Research's loans backed by FTT as collateral and this also brought down FTX. Someone might want revenge against CZ hehehe.
1510  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: March 14, 2023, 12:42:28 AM
Update as of March 13: CZ/Binance is buying $1 billion worth of crypto(BTC/ETH/BNB). Bullish news but $1 billion is technically just a drop in the bucket.

https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1635131601884700674

Agreed that this might only be a drop in a bucket. It might also be more safer for CZ to buy when they ha e went down already instead of being the cause of the beginning of the pump himself.

In any case, Jim Cramer again is telling everyone to sell their bitcoin hehehe. Everyone has noticed that bitcoin pumps everytime his advice tells us to dump. There are some people starting to joke in social media that the Inverse Cramer ETF is presently becoming a substitute for a bitcoin ETF heheheehhe.
1511  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 13, 2023, 03:08:26 AM
So, the May 20 date is final per the article i've read and this will be held in the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Quote
BoxingScene.com has confirmed that their 12-round, 135-pound championship match will be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Their fight for Haney’s IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO lightweight titles will headline an ESPN Pay-Per-View show that night.

This is another fight where there are 2 very good fighters that will bring the sport of boxing back going forward again very much similar to Tank vs. King Ry and Inuoe vs. Fulton. Terence Crawford and Errol Spence has been a disappointment for the fans. They should learn from the example of Tank and Ryan where there are 2 fighters who are in their correct boxing age to fight each other. I reckon this will break records in pay per view and gross revenue.

In any case, the winner of this will fight the winner of Tank vs King Ry, correct?

The next months will be good for boxing fans. April 22 Tank vs. King Ry, May 7 Inoue vs. Fulton and May 20 Haney vs. Lomanchenko hehehe.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: March 13, 2023, 02:01:53 AM
The Oscar Award ceremony is just a few hours away. Have you decided on your top picks yet? It's time to start making some tough choices! Which films and performances have truly resonated with you this year? Will your picks align with the Academy's choices, or will there be some surprises?

So, grab some popcorn, sit back, and let's see who takes home the coveted golden statuettes.  Wink

All Quiet On The Western Front won 2 awards already for best cinematography and best foreign movie. I did not hear antiwar speeches except from the speech of the best documentary awardees hehe.

Also, the president of the Academy of motion picture arts and sciences went on stage. She is Chinese. This removes all my hopes that All Quiet might win heheehe. Best picture will go to the movie with many Chinese actors Everything Everywhere.

@nullama. There is a Netflix special from Chris Rock's stand up comedy. He talks about the truth about what he speculates why Will Smith slapped him hehe.
1513  Economy / Speculation / The bitcoin pump on March 12 on: March 13, 2023, 01:22:01 AM
Bitcoin has been pumping that begun since more than 8 hours. This might be because it appears that the department of treasury of America and the Federal Reserve are going to give Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank the funding and the cashflow that they are needing to give their depositors 100% of their money.

After receiving a recommendation from the boards of the FDIC and the Federal Reserve, and consulting with the President, Secretary Yellen approved actions enabling the FDIC to complete its resolution of Silicon Valley Bank, Santa Clara, California, in a manner that fully protects all depositors. Depositors will have access to all of their money starting Monday, March 13.  No losses associated with the resolution of Silicon Valley Bank will be borne by the taxpayer.

Finally, the Federal Reserve Board on Sunday announced it will make available additional funding to eligible depository institutions to help assure banks have the ability to meet the needs of all their depositors.

1514  Economy / Exchanges / Re: New York Attorney General Sues KuCoin on: March 13, 2023, 12:35:25 AM
The skeptical me is beginning to speculate that there is a coordinated attack against the cryptospace.
This is not the first time, but know that those centralized platforms are causing the attack. What is centralized can be controlled, the more decentralized things are, the lesser the control can be.

I am sorry if I did not make the post quite clear for you. I will try to create a clearer one next time.

What I was trying to tell everyone was the recent bad news we were reading, the rumors of wells notices and the 49k coins of bitcoin deposits to Coinbase made by wallets controlled by the American government, assumed for dumping, have been appearing like something coordinated to bring the price down. It was not organic selling.
1515  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase to Suspend Binance USD (BUSD) Trading on: March 12, 2023, 03:03:38 AM
I am not assuming that Binance was responsible for the depeg of USDC, however, it is speculated that the depeg going below $0.90 were the manipulations created by the whales to trick USDC holders into converting USDC to other stablecoins. I reckon if someone wanted to take advantage of this crisis and to send a message to Brian Armstrong and the whole cryptospace who is the king, it might be CZ. It is well recognized that USDC is Coinbase's first choice.

If this is proven, I will also not be shocked to know that Justin Sun helped CZ.
1516  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Big Short movie, BTC edition? on: March 12, 2023, 02:18:32 AM
This is very head scratching. It has always been speculated that Tether might be the stablecoin that might fail and bring the big short to the cryptospace, however, it is beginning to appear that USDC might be the one hehehe.

The peg went below $0.90 but it is returning back to $0.95. We cannot be quite certain if this is the end of the show, however.

Crypto investors have flocked to redeem their USD Coin (USDC) holdings after its issuer Circle revealed it held $3.3 billion of its reserves at the failed Silicon Valley Bank (SVB).

Concerns about USDC’s reserves emerged after U.S. regulators took control of the bank. The stablecoin issuer confirmed it had exposure to the institution, leading to massive withdrawals from the platform.

Meanwhile, the concerns about the stablecoin reserves have seen it depeg against its rivals. BeInCrypto data showed that the stablecoin tanked 10% following the news to $0.90 as of press time.

Top crypto exchanges Binance and Coinbase said they would suspend USDC’s conversion, citing “market conditions.” Binance said the move was a “normal risk-management procedural step to take.” Coinbase also suspended the stablecoin’s conversion over the weekend. The U.S.-based exchange plans to recommence the conversion on Monday when banks open.

Also, there are reports that there are billions of venture capital funds that cannot be withdrawn from Silicon Valley bank because of the bank run. The crypto related funds are owned by a16z cryptoventures, Pantera and Paradigm. They have invested billions in different projects in the cryptospace.

1517  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is the Binance the next to bite the dust or FUD? on: March 11, 2023, 02:23:59 AM
I hope you are correct that this will not lead for Binance to be biting the dust because I reckon it will certainly make the cryptospace perceived as a comedy show by scammers and hustlers.
In recent events, many centralized exchanges and services have bitten the dust and people have lost so much money, if Binance is next to bite the dust, it would just be added to the long list of centralized exchanges that have collapsed. Yeah it is a bigger exchange and may have a bigger impact, but that's for shitcoins as it would expunge many of them from the network; the only effect it will have on BTC is a temporary reduction in price and a chance to buy low.
This might discourage the institutional investors and encourage regulators to protect consumers by creating stricter regulations that will restrain innovation. Also, regulations are only made under an act that it was created to protect consumers. What it will do is harden the rulers' financial leadership. The cryptospace will not be ours anymore.
Or it may encourage people to look for no-KYC alternatives to buy their BTC and to only hold them in a self custody wallet. Because of how 'powerful' centralized exchanges have become, many people think they own or control the network, maybe it would teach people to know they can buy, sell and hold their BTC's without Binance.

In another news, silvergate is shutting down operations.
silvergate is shutting operations and liquidating after market meltdown.

There is also the Silverbank, the Silicon Valley bank that are having problems and also another rumored unnamed bank that might also be having similar problems. Mainstream news media are making it appear that the cryptospace is the cause, however, there are information being shared social media that their problems are self inflicted.

What we should very much concered about is USDC because much of the stablecoin is presently not backed by real dollars. Circle was holding billions of the backing in one of those banks.
1518  Economy / Exchanges / New York Attorney General Sues KuCoin on: March 11, 2023, 01:56:35 AM
The skeptical me is beginning to speculate that there is a coordinated attack against the cryptospace. Within 7 days we witnessed what was assumed a market dump of 49,000 coins by the American government, a fud on Binance, rumor that the SEC are sending wells notices to all Defi project founders located in the USA and presently New York AG vs. Kucoin. This is very head shaking. The market appears to have been okay, however.

The New York Attorney General's office today filed a lawsuit against cryptocurrency exchange KuCoin for allegedly violating securities and commodities laws in the state.

The NYAG's lawsuit targets KuCoin for allegedly “falsely representing itself as an exchange” when really it is a “securities and commodities broker-dealer.” It aims to block access to the exchange in New York by forcing KuCoin to geo-fence its website based on IP addresses and GPS location.

1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 10, 2023, 04:35:05 AM
This might be the most head shaking speculation. Lamar certainly appears that he does not want to play for the Ravens. There are teams that need a quarterback, however, there is a team that certainly needs a quarterback of Lamar's caliber to win the superbowl. They have the offensive line, the wide receivers, the tightend and the running back. What is needed is the quarterback which it can be Lamar. My prediction is Trey Lance will be traded to the Ravens for Lamar Jackson!
1520  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [NEWS] Biden budget proposes 30% tax on crypto mining electricity usage on: March 10, 2023, 03:16:41 AM
I speculated about this before but I was called an antagonizer and a fud spreader. However, it is here. The Biden administration is pushing out bitcoin mining by making it more difficult to make profit through raising their taxes. They cannot do a blanket ban similar to the Chinese way because America's government structure is less centralized than China's government structure.

On account of this, I speculate that there is a chance that illegal mining and stealing of electrcity might rise in America. Is there a chance that American gangs and cartels might be interested in mining internet money?

United States crypto miners could eventually be subject to a 30% tax on electricity costs under a budget proposal by President Joe Biden aimed to “reduce mining activity.”
