2461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on a sobar reflection mode. on: August 20, 2021, 04:40:19 AM
price will go up back again to its previous at $64k. whatever happens in between $30k to climb up again to $64k, it's somewhere lies to what traders and holders do when there is news coming out. when the price drops to $3k in 2019, the Bitcoin believers are already thinking of more than $20k. if you are one of them then just observe what bitcoin companies and institutions do and not what they are saying.

2462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is BTC Volatility More of an Advantage than Disadvantage? on: August 20, 2021, 03:31:12 AM

volatility is not a feature of Bitcoin, it's just the many are speculating the currency and many will buy because of its rarity and people will also sell because of the enormity of the profit. if you are a trader you will look at it mostly as an advantage but if you are a holder you will be regretful if you are not going to sell before a bear market. therefore a disadvantage only if you don't profit.

the long-term holders though are confident of buying more which they don't see volatility as a disadvantage.
2463  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S. Government's $10 Million Reward on: August 20, 2021, 01:18:02 AM
found this one https://www.rferl.org/a/russia-ransomware-us-rewards/31361313.html

US accuses Russia of the cyberattacks recently which they said they have evidence but in the interview of Putin, they only cited reports from the media. Putin had also challenged them to provide evidence. US giving rewards to those who can track only shows they are not really sure of their accusation.

$10M will be a big amount that white hackers will really want to. should the trackers ask for escrow?
2464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: August 19, 2021, 09:56:05 PM
Things are getting better and better on Casimero.

Casimero on doping as he pushes for title fight

Quote
LAS VEGAS – Now it’s Naoya Inoue who’s stalking Johnriel Casimero.

The undefeated world bantamweight champion raised the issues surrounding doping and weight management should a fight with the outspoken Filipino is finally made.

Inoue, 28, again took to social media in following up on his earlier demand to arrange a fight with Casimero, hopefully before the end of the year.

“Once the match with Casimero is decided, I would like to beat it under the rule of boxing,” said the reigning WBA and IBF bantamweight champion.

The tide has changed, Inoue is now more aggressive in making this fight happen.

We might see a great fight this year, and hopefully, there's no hindrance to it.
Great! I read somewhere that bob arum said that it will depend on Inoue's camp if they'll going to take the fight against Donaire, but seems that Inoue is more interested in fighting Casimero.

That social media thing that Casimero did really gather the full attention of Inoue's camp, for sure even the international medias already notice this news regarding to Inoue's showing his interest to fight the Pinoy champ!

Now we are just waiting for the final talk and the date once everything got settled between these two camps.

i have some doubts about casimero before but this time his swearing works to turn the tide. its yet not finally I've checked some articles where they both respond to tweets which its all still up to arum. there is no reason for arum to no approve this fight if both are up for it. i guess casimero will get a big fight after all to make more money and donaire is out of the picture now.

2465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC become the world central currency? on: August 19, 2021, 08:27:59 AM
According to my opinion, Bitcoin cannot replace the physical currency as the governments of countries will not allow to use it as digital currency. Also, it is a decentralized currency. If the bitcoin is used as a world currency , then it will also affect the people's income.

a country will not give up their currency but Bitcoin can be used alongside with the digital currencies that they're now developing. it's not gonna affect the income of the people whether they are paid in BTC or digital fiat, is the same thing. it will only affect if they are not going to spend it cause they may see BTC as an investment like we do today.
2466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PolyNetwork Hacked, $600 million Lost on: August 19, 2021, 07:49:34 AM
damn how do ppl still leave their money on some unknown exchanges

its a defi platform, normally investors are going to stake/provide liquidity with their tokens to earn.

the team offered a job to this hacker as part of their security and hoping he would come out. he turned down the offer but this also means that they didn't really know him at all. he still didn't give everything that was taken from the network though.
2467  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do any casinos offer cryptocurrency staking? on: August 19, 2021, 07:37:16 AM
Have you checked the exchange crex24? They have games like dice, slots, bitcoin of fortune and others. They don't have not so good reputation from the forum but for all the years that I have used this exchange, just smaller trades, I haven't encountered any trouble. So I can't say anything bad to them. They also have investbox where you can stake different alts.
yes! I know about this exchange
its a bit more sophisticated version of Yobit so I understand it having lower reputation, but you are right, I think they never had problems before or scandals

any other exchanges like that that offer these kind of games?
Before I even touch the exchange and gamble there, can anyone who has played there confirm whether they have a provably fair system? I am asking because it gives me the same vibes as Yobit and we all know Yobit has been rigging results for the dice game. And Yobit has too many problems to discuss them anyway.

It's not a bad idea if a casino offers staking because gamblers always have some spare balance after a session of playing and no harm in locking them for short periods and earning yourself some free coins.

i have played in yobit dice before, it was along time ago but i'm not sure either whether it's fair. but it's probably just using the Random system too. they still are alive today despite the accusations against them. other exchanges that come up alongside them had already shut down like cryptopia and crypsy but they stay alive.

casino offering staking will be good if you are a gambler yourself. you can take time playing every day with the coins you receive every day.
2468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which are the best cryptocurrencies for esports betting? on: August 17, 2021, 02:25:13 PM
The gamblers will have different favourite coins to gamble, whether sports betting or other gambling games. If they like to use bitcoin, they will still use bitcoin, which happens with the other gamblers. But if the casino does not have their favourite coins, they will search for the coin that will fit what they want, especially in the transaction fee because something that will be a concern for a gambler. Most casinos will have bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin, usdt, doge in their coin list but with the growth of the cryptocurrency, those casinos try to add the other coins such as trx, ada or others so they can attract more people who want to use that coins.

as long as a gambler can bet any coin will do. if it werent for the transaction fee, they'd use BTC.  trx comes the first for me because its the cheapest.

but when its started it was litecoin and doge that were the first that casinos considered. with the rise of altcoins and i guess they see profit from altcoins community.
2469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the legal status of Bitcoin in your country? on: August 16, 2021, 01:02:36 PM

Philippines has just more things to fix than getting busy banning Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. but we Filiinos are grateful that SEC supports this innovation.

Some countries banned crypto assets totally, some banned mining, some allows even paying taxes with it and some doesn't allow purchasing goods using crypto assets.

The Republic of Turkey has a strict ban against using crypto assets as a way of payment or developing technological infrastructure for such use case. However, it is perfectly legal for individuals and businesses to buy/sell/mine/trade the crypto assets.

What is the situation in other countries that you know of? And do you think the world will start accepting it or will regulate and see it only as a "store of value" and not a currency?

your country has confusing laws for crypto. but i think this is because the the sharia laws?
it doesnt make sense to ban yet people can own and use it as currency in business. i once saw a thread from a guy in turkey who buy and sell coins so i guess its not really illegal.

2470  Economy / Economics / Re: Is MFS preventing the growth of Bitcoin? on: August 16, 2021, 09:01:00 AM
MFS came before Bitcoin though so I don't think you can say it's preventing anything. What I can say, and as I've pointed out about Bitcoin before, is that it has to be easier to use. MFS (I actually just talk about fintech in general but mobile payments is an excellent example) shows us how mass adoption is actually driven not just by solution for need, but by ease of use:)

we know that. and also the reason more are using MFS even today. in my country, it's used widely in e-commerce for payment methods.

they may purposely don't provide Bitcoin services because BTC is a threat to their services. MFS are often a business by big banks and preventing the spread of information of BTC will make them prolong their relevance.  but i guess sooner they will be open for cryptocurrency too especially these days because they now understand that Bitcoin is here to stay.

2471  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Always pump after sold holdings. on: August 16, 2021, 08:09:10 AM
It happens to me either. after buying price starts falling and after the selling price starts to climb.
But the thing is if we have bought at low and sold at a high price and we are in good profit then it doesn't matter if that coin is pumping or dumping.

we should only be concerned about our profit and loss if your coin's price is still rising then do some quick research. Check that coin's social media If the price of the coin increasing because of some good news then it is ok you can buy it again else forget it and search for a new coin

if you are only concern about the profit in USD, you can forget about the coins you dump. but for most of those who trade are concern about stacking satoshis on their wallet in which they are accumulating and for them, there is the need to buy back when the dip happens. once the price speeds up instead after they sold, then they are burned.

i was trying to get more doge a few months ago. i sold my stash thinking it will dip later on but the price went 0.72. that's thousands lost instead of profiting more.  it happens to everyone i guess.

2472  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casimero vs Rigondeaux this August 14, 2021 on: August 16, 2021, 03:00:39 AM

i think people enjoyed their fight. i wouldn't be surprised if there will be another. a rematch will be fun.
if they are making money out of this match and they like the sport, there is no stopping. Rigo i think enjoyed this one too. there is nothing for casimero to do as well but to fight whoever is there available if inoue and donaire won't fight him.

congrats to Casimero!

Literally not a single person enjoyed this fight. A rematch is not necessary because nobody wants to see Rigondeaux fight again. He will stink up the place again. Bantamweight is still a loaded division and there will be other interesting opponents for Casimero.

Everyone knows it's a boring fight, even if you just watch the highlights on youtube, you can see a lot of comments that says the fight is boring. Prior to the fight, Rigondeaux said that Casimero will see a devil in the ring, but what happens is it's a running Devil trying to run for his life, in short, he only sell but does not show it in the actual fight.

The first time that Rigondeaux was criticized this much.

it was a 12 round fight. if you have been there near the ring and paid for the ticket it's going to make you want to see fights that last long. if casimero enjoyed it as i can see him smiling all the time it's worth watching. Rigo successfully avoided knockout by his boring strategy but casimero is not at fault. rigo bitterness though is what made it not a sportsman like especially his tweets.  i really think there could be another.

2473  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Michael Saylor Says Bitcoin is Hope For Canada on: August 15, 2021, 04:03:26 PM
I slightly dislike(I know, I can be petty) those Twitter people who seems to think that Bitcoin is the answer to literally whatever news-trending problem there is. But "wasted" renewable energy is one good use-case of Bitcoin mining. They contribute to the network, and at the same time they get value in exchange for the supposedly wasted energy. Win-win!
They're trying to hype bitcoin, it's the fault of those ultra fanatics.of bitcoin that exaggerated it's uses and it's purpose to the point that it become the truth/norm for the many. And those Twitter people are all shills, they have somethinng to gain when the price goes up so they use the platform of Twitter to shill for bitcoin.

hyping is always the key here and we love it!  BTC

big countries take loans and loan again to get out of debt. and if everything doesn't work, countries can go to war for money because money is power. if Canada has energy sources why not. but this might be too early for Canada to go into Bitcoin. there are poorer countries out there to convince than Canada. any stoner out there in Canada can think about mining BTC thru the fans of cannabis grower.
2474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Exposed to children on: August 15, 2021, 03:07:53 PM
it's one hard part for me as a parent because i also wanted my kid to learn everything. its hard to teach kids all at once because as a parent you can't monitor each of the things they search while everything we do during lockdowns is online even the school extra activity is done online. although i wanted to limit what she sees on youtube or anything she searches, the ads appearing are very attractive to resist a click. it's hard to explain when the kid didn't experience gambling yet.

Actually it is not too difficult if we are smart to limit the use of smart phones or the like and stay under surveillance because in our family we are not alone, there are wives or other family members if there are.
Accompany them when learning online and if your child wants to watch you tube, and you have prepared shows that your child likes by downloading as many as possible. so that your child watches you tube offline whose data you have turned off and you also have to limit the time.
and in addition to limiting its use, you must also be able to divert it to positive things because children's activities have certain hours such as naps, playing and also watching television with appropriate shows.
Of course you can and that includes discipline and you have to be firm, because otherwise the internet today sometimes has lots of advertisements and sites that are not worth accessing and my wife and I apply it to my two children who are 12 and 9 years old
I partly diagree with your opinion, because many families dont have this opportunity. Many people have to educate their children completely alone without any help of others. In these circumstances control is not possible.

when three of you the mother, father, and your kid are locked in a city where your relatives are from far islands of the archipelago, you have limited options in teaching your kid. the covid virus had limit everyone and everything on this planet. all we have is online space and while VR is not fully developed. but if VR is developed, gambling will also be revolutionized through VR and casinos will still be exposed to kids.

it's inevitable and it's best that she just learn it from me that i can say, all these are just entertainment and there is far cheaper entertainment out there like netflix.

2476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Argentine President sees no reason to oppose Bitcoin adoption on: August 15, 2021, 01:51:37 PM
the president of argentina sees no reason to oppose the adoption of bitcoin,?? The steps taken by the Argentinian government are indeed on track, because the emergence of bitcoin never poses a threat to anyone including the government, because the emergence of bitcoin is purely because it wants to provide new challenges for us, to be able to compete fairly to increase our income. .

it's even long overdue because long before El Salvador there are already users of Bitcoin in that area just like Venezuela. i'm sure his approval doesn't mean that he knows nothing about Bitcoin. this is a president of a country, he can easily find someone who can tell him exactly what Bitcoin is and the underlying tech on it. if El Salvador had risen to stand up against economic sanctions, they should too by using Bitcoin.

2478  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-08-02] China's Digital Yuan vs Bitcoin on: August 14, 2021, 01:20:20 PM
@bbc.reporter

I would say yes, more or less, when I think about it. Look at 2021 compared to let's say 5 years ago. Bitcoin is on the road to be regulated across a lot of countries, in almost (again, more or less) the way traditional currencies or assets are.

See what I mean.
Indirectly we're "suffering" from regulations and laws. I exaggerate a bit but for me, these are constraints and not advantages for the crypto industry. Exchange platforms regulations, taxes laws for citizens, the KYC bullshit (even from some shops), licenses here and there for this and that. What else? So many things.
There is most of the time always a point in which there is something against the 'Bitcoin's ideology'.

Sure, there is always a way to go beyond that, but the ecosystem is still small on that side. I'm beginning to think that as the years go by, the 'Bitcoin dream' is just a utopia. if someone would have said to me years ago that Bitcoin will have laws and all that crap, I would have simply replied: LOL.

As for the digital currencies backed by the governments and central banks. I do hope with time people make the difference between DC and cryptocurrencies since I consider both different. Perhaps they both use blockchain tech and cryptography principles, but besides this point everything is different.

However, what problems would a CBDC solve? Can it replace physical currency? I reckon this would be difficult. Would it improve efficiency? There are efforts to improve efficiency already without CBDC. Will CBDC be an innovation for payments? No, there are also technologies created for that. Also, I am afraid the government will require KYC for CBDC to monitor you.

the Chinese will do whatever they will do. its bullshiit as we may think. you can say it's not an innovation but it certainly has control of what their government can/would do which is more important to the CCP than having a decentralized currency.

what you have to keep in mind is that it's JUST for them.
for the countries going to make transactions to the Chinese government will have to comply with their rules and this is also what will happen to them if the Chinese will make transactions to Japan or the US, the chinese government will have to comply with the US rules. sadly, they do have the advantage because it's a manufacturing country which most countries may have to comply with their rules.

Agreed, it might be just for them. However, if it does not solve a problem, if it cannot replace physical currency and if does not make payments more efficient than the present payment processors then what it might do is disrupt what is already good by attempting to replace it with something that does bring anything new to the table. I reckon it would be more harmful than helpful. Who will use it?

the only way to understand is that the country strategized to make them look as if it's a tech innovation-friendly country but it's still a communist country to the core. whether the digital yuan makes it convenient or not for the people. it is convenient for the CCP to survey their people. its monitoring their people, it is what is used for. who knows their phone has ears and eyes on it like what was reported. Apple has this technology as well, to listen and hear through the phones.

actually, Alipay and WeChat are already used widely in China long before this digital yuan. even the vegetable vendors are already using these two. this CBDC is just an extra payment method for them. privacy concern Chinese is probably afraid to use DCEP as well.

2479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Singapore Police Say Crypto-Related Crimes Keep Rising across the Country on: August 14, 2021, 01:03:33 PM
They are blowing this up to look as if this is a huge problem, but have a look at the total amount of crimes (37 409 cases) ... then it is nothing compared to the other cases that are not Crypto related. (393 reports of Crypto related crimes)  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Source : https://www.statista.com/statistics/947850/singapore-total-crime-case-number/

So why is this such a big issue? Well, it is simple.... when you want to create your own digital currency, you have to get some kind of reason to "ban" the competition.  Angry

for a country so small with less than 10M people on it, they do have this huge crime rate for the crypto industry alone, which is really unbelievable. it will only make sense if they are about to regulate it heavily or push their own digital currency for easy regulation. having a CBDC is a great tool for China which is a close neighborhood of China. having a CBDC proves to be an excellent tool for surveillance else China wouldn't be using it.
2480  Economy / Economics / Re: How to identify high-quality projects in the primary market? on: August 14, 2021, 03:20:51 AM

there are many of them that we thought to be a high-quality project, most of them failed. the one that you could consider is ETH. there are still doubters of the platform up to this day despite its achievement. the one thing that is good to do for the projects today is just buying them up when there is a bullrun and then dump it all when the bear returns.
