2481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceicao - Sept 23 on: August 26, 2022, 06:04:53 AM
Judging by the bookmakers' bets on this fight, Stevenson looks like a clear favorite and, as it seems to me objectively, he is 8 years younger than Conceicao, while they have the same experience in professional boxing, Stevenson is more technical and hardy, so Conceicao has very slim chances.

Yeah, I also check the odds and there are no chances, Stevenson is way ahead is sport bookies and there is no value bet on him on the ML odds. And Stevenson has all the tolls and advantage in this fight. I just want Robson though to give Shakur all he can take, Herring and Valdez I would say is a clear and dominant win by Shakur. So hopefully we will see him react is push comes to shove. Robson can do that similar to what he did against Oscar Valdez and almost won that fight.

We never know because upset is always around in every fight but we can't really forget the fact that Shakur has the most advantage in this fight over Robson, but the latter can still do whatever it takes to at least give Shakur a hard time so that this fight wouldn't look like to be a walk in the park for Shakur. The match will happen in less than a month from now, maybe the odds of Shakur winning by a KO/TKO might change in our favor.

Upsets happen but sometimes it was due to the opponent being replaced in the last minute (beyond the control of the favorite), but the if he didn't prepare for the fight itself then even if he has all the talent and so called advantage, he will be beaten. So who knows, maybe Robson will caught Shakur or maybe Shakur prepared 100% in this fight. So for know, we shall just based on the odds, Stevenson will be the favorite and it's up to us whether we will go against it or bet on him but not on the ML because the value is so low, close to even no value at all.
2482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: August 26, 2022, 04:47:37 AM
It's hard to imagine how Usyk could inflict enough power on as big an opponent as Fury. If Usyk prefers to keep the distance, Fury has a reach advantage to earn points and make setup jabs for a powerful straight. If Usyk prefers to keep it close and slug it out against the much bigger man, Fury could do what he did to Wilder and other opponents, put his weight on him and drain his strength. Usyk should avoid clinches but he should also close the distance for him to connect hard. And it seems a hard thing to execute.

Yes, he will be in the dilemma for this fight, it seems that his strategy will not work or at least what he did against AJ. And he is not Klitschko by any means, or even Cunnigham that gave Fury one of his toughest fight. Cunningham is a good boxer, might not be the same as Usyk though. But we all know that Tyson has evolved so much that I would say that there is no blue print to beat him unless you really have that power, a one punch knock out, and I don't think that Usyk has that kind of power.
2483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: August 26, 2022, 03:25:57 AM
^^ I don't think there is "testing of waters", they know already  that it will be big, and so it boils down to money. Maybe not the boxers directly as they could be settled on "XX amount of dollars as guarantee", but it's more on the people behind them, their Promotional Company and the Network executives, they might be recomputing the risk involved as well, like PPV numbers because for sure it will be illegally stream, thus cutting what will they got as revenues and it will be enough to make them huge profits as well because we all know that boxing is a business.
2484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are we about to see another crash after the latest USDT news? on: August 26, 2022, 02:55:04 AM
Recently the Tornado Cash case was a hot topic within our community and many of us thought it would be over with the frozen wallets.
However, today I was reading an article about Tether allowing the activity for the users in the mentioned platform, as it may be a short-term solution for those in need, it may seem as a collateral trigger for the US regulators towards Tether, if one of the biggest crypto markets in the world chooses to punish the biggest stablecoin at the time, how much lower do you think we will fall?

Source as reference: https://twitter.com/thetokenist/status/1562725412978843649?s=20&t=odhhuWQVbkZ4ueXuVBc_kw

What I wanted to see if how USDT will rebound if ever there will be a crash before of their stance on Tornado Cash. They have been accused of running a fractional reserved, so if somehow they have been de-pegged then we will have to see then. Nevertheless they are going to see what the regulators wanted them do. They explicitly says they will wait for US law enforcement agency request before they will make a move. So it's not like that they are supporting Tornado Cash pe se, or turning their backs on the regulators, they just wanted a formal request before they freeze ETH addresses.

Well how can we help you if you didn't even mentioned the site? I guess it is a crypto exchange? If yes, then perhaps we can get into the details as whether it is really a scam site or just holding your funds for some other reasons. Did you read the TOS on why they are holding your funds and can't withdraw?

I don't think you can find ethical hacker to 'get back what is yours'.  Sorry to break the bubble for you, but there are slim chance that you can get your funds back, to be honest.
2486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippine universities to offer Bitcoin courses in partnership with Binance on: August 25, 2022, 05:14:32 AM
I guess there's nothing wrong with it, the Philippines is turning out to be one of the biggest crypto friendly country in the Far East so I wouldn't be surprised if the newly appointed government will just continue what the Duterte government did as far as crypto adoption is concern.

But this one is taking it to the next direction, and with Binance also active in the Philippines and then their local coins.ph, it's good to hear that bitcoin/blockchain courses is going to be open to universities and hopefully this will be the standard in the next coming years.
2487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK on: August 25, 2022, 04:31:45 AM
Fury is playing the money man he just gives a deadline for interested parties to put this fight until September 1 or he will just follow through on his retirement, he knows he is a hot item and the boxing community wants a unification bout and have one undisputed champion.

Tyson Fury gives September 1 deadline to secure undisputed unification with Oleksandr Usyk

He also wants proof of funds for this fight, for 500 million Pounds, I wonder who will be the promoter will come forward with that amount, so we'll wait until September 1 for any development.

its an ultimatum. he earns the right to demand after all he is the kind and this is going to be a very big event. such a huge amount though so what happens if the promoters couldn't show the money in 7 days?

promoters will also weight if the sales be enough now that economy is also in a downturn?
the fight will not happen in an instant anyway. if nothing pursues then its been a blast too.

Yeah, an ultimatum, but you know what, Fury is really good at it, let's say the 500 million pounds is not met, what will happen? obviously there could be negotiations and maybe the price could be lower or terms could be other terms that could amount that kind of money for him.

So it's a good tactics for him, trying to let the public know much money he wanted and then weigh on how much money he can really get in the end, win-win situation.
2488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 25, 2022, 03:46:26 AM
If we refer on GGG's last fight against Murata, there's no aggressiveness on GGG on the early rounds. Lots of punches being thrown successfully by Murata and all those are good shots. There was even lots of solid punches that Murata gave on GGG during the first few rounds.

While the fight is progressing, GGG now slowly get back on track and becomes beast mode. Murata can't answer now and that leads for GGG to a knock out win at Round 9. That proves that GGG still has the strength and power to end the fight in a KO Victory.

But that situation shouldn't be applied against Canelo. Every rounds count and matters if fighting against Canelo in scorecard.

You can't compare Murata with Canelo. The latter is at an entirely different level. When was the last time Canelo got KO-ed? Even his loss against Floyd Mayweather Jr. back in 2013 was not from KO, but from majority decision. Golovkin is the king of knockouts, but I don't think that he has much of a chance to repeat that against Canelo. Anyway, I agree with the prediction. Canelo is likely to win the initial rounds. I expect Golovkin to make a comeback from 4th round onwards. But it needs to be seen whether he can win 7 out of the 12 rounds (especially with the judges being biased towards Canelo).

Yes, different fighters react differently to their opponents. But I wanted for GGG to just be aggressive early, maybe Canelo will start slow maybe not. At least he is the one bringing the fight to Canelo, the same style that Bivol. Just enough though, it should be control as Canelo might come back strong. Enough to offset Canelo early and not giving him that square space to be confident just like what he did when he rekts all the 168 lbs fighter.

Nick Kyrgios to be sued by Wimbledon tennis fan after '700 drinks' comment

Quote
Nick Kyrgios is set for more courtroom drama after a Wimbledon fan he accused of having '700 drinks' revealed she is is suing the Australian tennis star.

Polish lawyer Anna Palus released a statement confirming legal action against the 27-year-old for his comments made during the Wimbledon final he lost against Novak Djokovic.

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/tennis/news/nick-kyrgios-be-sued-wimbledon-tennis-fan-after-700-drinks-comment/tedbzrvxafiohbzyz2vqvq6w

For sure even if Nick will win this case, it will take a lot of toll from him and might not perform at peak continue in the US Open. Not sure about the case  if it has merit or not. So we shall see what happens next. When Nick was really doing good lately in the last couple of tournaments, this is going to bite him for sure.

I think the case has merit, the claimant is a lawyer so Nick could very well be in rough waters
with this one.

Same thoughts, Nick could have chosen other fans in the crowd, unfortunately, he got the wrong individual because she is a lawyer and probably saw something that he can put Nick, whether money or jail time, something that she can get back at him.

He has such a big mouth on court and it was only a matter of time before there were more
consequences from all his antics on court. Its one thing being a "showman" on court but
when he starts throwing accusations at people he really needs to consider the possible backlash.

I have warmed to him recently but I dont feel sorry for him regarding this.

And this could be the biggest consequences of his career. I'm not sure if he is trying to be a showman or something, but he has done it since the beginning of his career.. The thing is, he can't back up all the talks and he could be fairly familiar with how some fans are really in the court.
2490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current Financial Market Condition on: August 24, 2022, 04:22:00 AM
Now, when the market is unstable, it is very difficult to understand how the crypto industry will behave in the near future. But one thing is certain: there will be a great investment opportunity in the near future. And now you just have to wait a little, and everything will be very good.

No, if you want to invest this is the right time and not the future. The price is still very low, for example Bitcoin it is down -70% from it's last all time high, so that is very cheap and at a discount price. And then in the future, when the price goes up, obviously you will make a lot of profits.

Regarding inflation though, we can't do anything about it, the world is collapsing because of the effect of Covid-19 and the war. So it might take several years before everyone can recover and stand up. And crypto investment maybe our gateway to make money in the worsening economy.
2491  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Longterm Price Target on: August 24, 2022, 03:38:04 AM
Re: Bitcoin Longterm Price Target

You made an interesting calculations in Op, even though there are some assumptions, it  could be a guide to further predictions.
Concerning the question you raised about Bitcoin price in the long term. The word long-term is somewhat generic. In my own definition, I can say that from 1 to 2yrs is not a long-term. Maybe from 5yrs to 10yrs can be the long term in my thought. And if my thought be the thought of others, 10yrs is big to predict what could happen in bitcoin. Technology is moving phasing in and phasing out, by 10yrs who knows bitcoin could be hard forked again and who knows it might not. Perhaps the price could hit $200,000

Ok, let's point it this way, maybe he is referring to the next bull run? somewhat along 2024-2025 because that's we're the baseline of speculations is, for the price to hit 6 digits or at least $100,000. This is predicted in 2021 and it didn't happen, so we make our own assumptions just like the OP and see the price as somewhat intersecting on that direction as well. I guess the bull run will always be the same, prices go up, massive spike and every time we hit a new all time high and this could happen again and 6 digit should be now the starting point.
2492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October on: August 24, 2022, 03:01:28 AM
This may not be cherry-picking in a different sense because this kid remains unbeaten. Although he is far from becoming a star especially with his lack of powerful punches, he still has a lot of potential. But in one sense, especially if we consider this as simply a tune-up fight for Loma, then this is a cherry-pick fight. You don't bring your fighter in a lion's den for his tune-up fight. A tune-up fight is supposed to be a guaranteed win for your fighter because a bigger battle is coming. It is just a match to condition his body.
They may have picked the right fighter for his tune fight because he will be up against possibly the winner of the Kambosos - Haney rematch or how about a fight against Ryan Garcia, he needs a tough undefeated, unfamiliar name to be his tune fight for big fights, we all know how Loma fight, fast, quick good counter punching and lateral movement, Ortiz has a big task ahead of him, if he finds a counter like Teofimo Lopez did then he can give Loma a good fight, a good fight is what Ortiz can give but I doubt he can pull out an upset, Loma is motivated like his compatriot Usyk.

Ortiz indeed has a very big task in front of him. But of course he could learn a lesson or two from Lomachenko's defeats especially his recent loss to Teofimo Lopez. Of course even Teofimo is hard to copy. Ortiz is so far from reaching what Teofimo has already reached, but he could try learn a strategy or two from that fight and who knows he could give Loma a good fight. At the end of the day, Ortiz has a win-win deal with this even if he will lose.

But one factor that contributes to Loma losing the fight against Lopez is that he can't pull the trigger because he has a shoulder injury.. And you can watch the fight and see that somewhat he is very reluctant in throwing punches, and he just started to get into his groove in round 7 but it was too late as Lopez has compiled points already in the judges scorecard. So I would say that there are still no blueprint to beat a healthy and prime hi-tech Loma.

Yes, there's probably no easy way to try beating a fully conditioned and healthy Lomachenko. Well I guess Salido defeated him when he was at his best shape years ago but not really in a convincing manner. Lopez won convincingly but that was against a Loma that was still in the process of recovering from an injury. But Lopez was good.

Nah, Salido was a dirty fighter in the first place, he keeps on hitting Loma below the belt, and since Loma was then an unknown (yes, he might be known for his outstanding amateur record, but not yet in pro) and this is his second fight. And Salido came in overweight in this fight, LOL, that's how tricky and dirty this boxer is.

I remembered seeing a Loma fight years ago in which his hand got injured in the middle of the fight but he managed to continue and won with only one fully functioning hand. I can't remember who he's against in that match but this fighter is really of a different kind.

Ortiz will have to give his everything against what could be his best opponent possible.

Not sure who you are referring to, maybe Linares or someone. Yes, and maybe we can say that his background in amateur, 396-1, was really instrumental in him to be in a different level, the "Hi Tech" that we know him right now.
2493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling schools importance on: August 24, 2022, 02:32:45 AM
Gambling school is actually a pretty interesting idea, but I'm not surprised to see that there are quite a few out there.  Now while it's important to learn about anything that involves putting money at risk, just like with finance, you don't need to pay anyone if you have the time to sit down and educate yourself.  My dad read countless blackjack books and always did very well, typically making a trip to vegas to play at least once a year.  It's time consuming but will pay off!

Yes, I think black-jack and poker have so many training books in existence as early as the beginning of this game. But since we are in the information age, I do not think that schools would be a good idea. It's based on pure luck with the rest of the others games. So it's better to just used the money that you would think to used for this so-called gambling school and learn everything while going to the experience. And as the saying, experience is the best teacher and there is nothing that means a lot than in gambling.

2495  Economy / Speculation / Re: Simple information in Bitcoin on: August 23, 2022, 05:02:46 AM
And another advance I can say that those who want to trade should buy bitcoin now if they can, they will see big profit very soon.

Even those who do not want to trade should be buying now. Bitcoin is not for traders only. In fact, I should say that Bitcoin is more for hodlers than traders. Traders could acquire loss over time. Hodlers don't. They are instead stacking more and more sats as soon as they get hold of some extra money. The good thing with hodlers is that they are kind of error-proof because they're just keeping their coins safe, unlike traders who could do some wrong decisions in their trades.

Yeah, perhaps it's just the semantics, traders/investors/speculators. And I do agree, if there are individuals that doesn't want complications then it's better to just buy and hold Bitcoin. But there are people who loves the volatility and all the action that the market can bring to them, maybe they are up almost all the time and watching the price either going up and down and then they will make their move. But as for us, the majority, nothing beats than doing DCA, and simply HODLing for long term. Next stop in the 2024-2025 run and let's see how big Bitcoin price is.
2496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP potential? on: August 23, 2022, 04:11:17 AM
I bought my first 500 XRP yesterday and plan to DCA while these prices are low. I am aiming to get to 5000 and plant to hold till 2024 at least.

I don’t know too much about XRP to be honest but it seems to be getting a lot of news lately and I just watched a video of some guy saying it can reach $200 by 2030.

This sounds way over the top to me , that would make it over a 500x  from current price so just wondering if this is realistic? Be interesting to hear arguments for and against this price prediction.

If someone could explain what is currently going on with XRP lately and why it is in the news so much?

It's gonna be hard though, I mean the case by the SEC against them is still on infancy stage, lots of back and forth and we really don't know who is winning or not.

So I would say that $200 is far fetch for now, even in the last bull run, it didn't enjoy what other coins have been experiencing because of the said case. Goodluck though, if in the next bull run, XRP didn't achieved that potential then maybe it's about time to move to others coins, don't waste your money and your time on something that it won't give you profits, just saying.
2497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: August 23, 2022, 03:35:46 AM
Thats a massive jump up the rankings by Coric, top 30 player now so he should start
climbing further if he can keep his current form, he had some really great winning
shots in that match, and yes the U.S Grand Slam should be very interesting for him and
hopefully we can make some Satoshi's in the early stages with him.

Yes, although I'm a big fan of Tsitsipas, seems that he is really broken up mentally in that game. I mean you had a huge lead in the first set, how can he let Coric come back strong and win it? And in the second set it was all Coric, Tsitsipas has no answer and as you have said, great winning shots so he can't be denied.

Will look for him of course in the next Grand Slam, or maybe he could be the dark horse of that tournament if he get to the quarterfinals.

2499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: August 23, 2022, 02:43:32 AM
Ramirez could be dangerous but not against Bivol who schooled one of the best technical boxers of this generation, Canelo Alvarez,  if Bivol fight the way he does when he fought Canelo then Bivol will have the victory, either by knockout or by decision.

But Ramirez is different from Canelo where the former is used in fighting in the Light-Heavyweight division compare to the latter.

Either way, Ramirez is a good pick since he dominated the Super middleweight division before taking fights at Light-Heavyweight. If Arum is against Russian boxers, then it's just a dream now to set up a unification match at the Light-Heavyweight division unless Dmitry Bivol will lose his next fights and that so his hold world title

Yeah, I don't think you can call it domination when he fought a wash up Arthur Abraham. Jesse Hart? Hmm maybe?

But I guess he move up in weight because he can't take 168 lbs, and maybe the timing of Canelo and Callum Smith moving to his division. That's the only reason why I think he didn't have the best fights in super middleweight.

But this time, if he wanted to get another belt this will be his best shot, but it will be very hard because he will be facing Bivol, who maybe the best Light Heavyweight today in terms of skills.
2500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ATH for ETH on: August 21, 2022, 12:59:56 AM
Are you expecting $10k over the next 2 years? I think you are overly optimistic. As usual, eth price increases with each new cycle, but I think your expectations are too high. $3k is likely to be reached next on the next bull run, but $10k is unlikely, let alone eth flip btc. That definitely won't happen.
The next ATH target of $10 is not high because in the previous ATH cycle some people assumed it was difficult to reach $3k but in fact every ATH price is very high. So it's definitely $10k for potential new ATH but it will take a few years to hit the highs.

Why not? it almost reach $5,000 during the last bull run if I'm not mistaken, and that will be just x2 of it so it's very possible that it can be touch. Specially that they have this merger in the horizon, as it almost push the price to $2,000 and maybe next month when it will be roll out, it could hit $2,000++ for that big news.

So the potential is there, as we all know that Ethereum is the prime mover as far as altcoin market is concern. It will just take patience a lot of them as the next bull run might be in two years, 2024-2025.
