1901  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 18, 2022, 12:50:45 AM
Funny thing happen, not sure if this has happen before, but recently, Carlos Alcaraz losses his first match since becoming the world number 1 to Felix-AA in the Davis Cup, 6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-2. And the thing is, this match is on Alcaraz home country in Spain.

I don't know if we have someone who can dig the records of let's say Roger Federer when he become number 1 and who is his opponent and if he won or not in his first game, or any other newly crowned number 1 in the past.

not sure 100%, but I think that Medvedev lost his first no.1 match as well
it is not surprise to see that, especially in Davis Cup, although I expected more from Alcaraz, but FAA is also a great player too

playing under national flag should be something to chearish for tennis players, because it is a rare event, but somehow some of them do not even like to play Davis Cup

Alcaraz was probobly tired from playing and winning the us open so its expected that he dosent have much strength to play for national team at a top level. But still there is a chance if they win against Korea to advance into the next round in the davis cup

Yeah, and there could be enormous pressure on his shoulder when he reaches #1 for the first time. He is still afterall just 19 years old so there could be some slip up mentally.

Playing under a national flag really bring the best out of this tennis players, so regardless of their rankings in the ATP, when they are in the Davis cup they are all in the level. And so Felix Auger Aliassime pull a win against Alcaraz. But for sure they can make a comeback.
1902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 18, 2022, 12:27:37 AM

For sure, maybe the Paul brothers are just waiting for Manny to make a comeback and then invite them to a fight. But not sure about the weight though, in any case we will have to see.

I am expecting a catch-weight if this happens Grin.   Manny is to light to fight Paul Brothers, they are in a heavier category which is quite too heavy from Manny's division.  If this happens and not a catch-weight fight, this will be very dangerous for Manny.

probably, as Manny's critics will say, he is the king of catchweight during his prime, reign of terror, winning 8 titles in different weight class, I doubt that it can be duplicated.

So yeah, why not fight at a catch weight? not sure who is going to fight him amongst the Paul brothers though. If my memory serves me right, Manny can fight as high as Middleweight, around 158 lbs and that could be the biggest weight that he can go because of his frame. But whatever, if there is a lot of money in the table, for sure there will meet somewhere in the middle to make this fight.
1903  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Resisting the below twenty thousand level on: September 17, 2022, 10:43:36 AM
And we are still battling the $20,000 support line, since we have this flash crash this week. At least the bulls is trying it's best to protect this price and it now stands at $19,833.

So it will be a uphill battle again, nevertheless it's weekend so not expecting any price movement that will push the price below. The test will be next week again, we will see if we can get to that $20,000 level and hopefully we will maintain it and then hit $22,000 the highest price that we have been so far in the last two months.
1904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When betting becomes to high on: September 17, 2022, 10:01:14 AM
Have you ever had an experience betting in which you knew that you were going over the limits of you finances and still continued? I have one playing a game, it was absorbing plenty of my time and despite me knowing it, I was kind of hooked on it. It was not a financial problem, but left me wondering how easy is to actually fall into a bad habit and how difficult is to break it.
Its normal for all gamblers to go beyond their financial limits, this is the spirit of gambling. I remembered then I was so addicted to gambling, I kept on playing and playing,I even gamble whole day to the extend of selling some of my properties to gamble. If I win big,its even the worst I will continue playing till the money finishes. I got so broke that I adjusted myself and now I just spend maximum one hour when gambling, winning or losingj

To some extent I would agree, but there are gamblers who chooses to have fun and so they have limits when they play and when it gone already they stop. But it is very different for those who are really hook up, as if they can't take the losses and wanted to come back for more. And since the odds are not in their favor, they are going to lose everything and then it become an addiction now and not something that you entertain yourself. From a simply hobby to become worst.
1905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Quidax is one of the best and secure Exchange platform on: September 17, 2022, 08:56:35 AM
LOL, what do you mean that scammers don't have a chance on your platform? We have seen lots of project being listed to even top tier exchanges, but the thing is that if they don't do any development then for sure they will be delisted in the next couple of months. Of course there is the security questions, there are a lot of hackers looking to exploit and steal everyone's money in an exchange, even Binance has been hack before. So there is no safe exchange anymore. You guys should be awake 24x7 to watch your operations for any cyber threat. And then there is also the question of wash trading. A recent report shows the majority of exchanges are doing wash trading.
1906  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 17, 2022, 08:36:05 AM
There is no question that Crawford would accept the lesser of the split. And he is fine with it so I guess that argument has been settled already. But there is the promotion and then the network that might be the stumbling block in this negotiations. But hopefully they can settle their difference just like any major fight that has happen in the past like Floyd vs Manny. They have to do it for the fans because there is a demand and the money that they are going to made is huge as well.

It's either that Spence really doesn't want the fight or his team, or they are trying to bluff Crawford with much higher split in the fight. But 60-40 in favor of Errol is already a good split and if Crawford is going to accept it then good.

But so far all we heard is that they agreed verbally? That is still very far from making this fight. They did to do it asap, everyone is waiting for it. After GGG vs Canelo, there will be no super fight in the calendar.
1907  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: September 17, 2022, 05:29:11 AM
Agree with that, whoever wins on the fight between Kambosos and Haney will be a good match with Loma. As long as Loma wins the fight, for sure we can expect a good fight later this year or next year from him. However, there's a possible hindrance, if Kambosos wins the right, promoters might think of a trilogy, that means the fight against Loma is not going to happen soon.

I don't think there is a 3rd fight in the horizon, even if Kambosos will win. Haney will have to wait for this turn again. The good thing is that this 3 boxers are under Top Rank, so everything can be iron out in cases Kambosos win. And for sure Bob Arum will prioritized Loma vs Kambosos first because financially, it will make more sense to make at that point (assuming Loma will win and there will be no upset). And then the winner will likely get Haney, so it's like a tournament between the two and it's the luxury that they are in one promotion, so Davis and Ryan and anyone who wants the belt will be the last option for Arum, in house money all the way for Bob!!!.

And the real winner is Bob Arum's Top Rank because he has three of this boxer under them and then they have the belt as well. So it will just go round in circles for them. Maybe he can work with Ryan which is under Oscar Dela Hoya, but Davis is with Floyd's TMT so we might see a problem there.

So most likely it will be Ryan first who will get a crack at the belt. But then again, he is completely focus on Tank Davis and really wanted to have that fight for a long time, so we shall see. And I do agree that ever fight will be great for the fans, Loma vs either Kambosos or Haney.

I am not also sure but I think Kambosos is not tied to Top Rank. The last time I heard, he was promoted by Lou DiBella. And if my memory serves me right, DiBella Entertainment is not tied to any networks (DAZN, ESPN, and PBC) although I'd seen some of his fights televised by PBC (Showtime/Fox). I think the bigger issue now is not about the promoters but rather these networks, namely DAZN, ESPN, and PBC (Showtime/Fox).

Yeah, it was my mistake, Kambosos is with Lou DiBella. But it seems the Lou Dibella and Bob Arum are in good relationships and they can make the fight between the two very easy.

If Kambosos scores an upset over Haney he is still obligated to face the WBO mandatory challenger which is Lomachenko. But Kambosos can also vacate his WBO belt if there are better offers from the other networks especially if Tank of PBC wants a shot at the real belts. Another possible good offer is from KingRy of DAZN. The good thing about not being tied up by a network is the ability to fight cross channels. The disadvantage though is even if you are the champion, the guy tied up by the network is probably more influential and protected.

I think he pulls an upset, he will most likely fight Loma. Remember that this is the original schedule, they have agreed it already. But Loma back out because he want to served his country in war. And Kambosos truly understand it, so there is no issue whatsoever and then they pick up Devin Haney to replace Loma. So in any case, George will go back to his original target.

Top Rank now clearly has the best names from super featherweight to super lightweight. So Bob Arum can just let them face each other without much problems. Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia are in a bad situation when it comes to a high level of opponents although both are contented cherry-picking bums after bums and their promoters and networks will just hype their opponents.

Yes, he had Shakur at super featherweight and even at featherweight, Emmanuel Navarrete. And there are still in the higher and lower weight class, like Tyson Fury and then Inoue. Tank and Ryan can't even get a fight, LOL. For sure their next opponents will be another cherry pick.
1908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To all 100x hunters out there on: September 16, 2022, 03:17:17 AM
but I'm a little pessimistic about the current market. we rarely find projects that can generate multiple profits. let alone a hundred times even ten times almost nothing. some people think because we are in a bear market, but in my opinion the market is getting smaller and smaller. I hope my guess is wrong.
I know that when the bear market strikes everything seems negative and it may seem impossible for the market to recover, but you must not let those feelings rule you because that is when people panic, sell their coins and then they lose a massive amount of money, the market will recover at some point and this also means that we will get to see massive pumps in some coins, but we need to be careful because the possibility that we invest in one of those coins just as they pump are not very good.

For us who have seen the worst bear cycle or at least the 2018 cycle, we at least know where to stay in today's situation. That is we are talking about experience here and I will say that the bear market doesn't scare us anymore and on the contrary we know where to stand and what we need to do in the worsening scenario. So maybe there are really who looks for this gem and 100x return project which seems to be impossible because the price very low. And there is a slim chance that some projects out there could be huge, and it's going to be a gambler for this hunters. But again for us, it's better to just accumulate now and buy cheap coins, specially those that are established instead of chasing 100x projects.
1909  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here is why the price has remained low on: September 16, 2022, 02:29:24 AM
I will not disagree with you but i want to tell you that it's not one person that is a supporter of cryptocurrency and if bitcoin price rise it's not only one person is the cause of Bitcoin rising, what i want you to understand is that, the price of bitcoins rising is from the market of cryptocurrencies neither the demands is higher than the supplies and the demand is not a particular person but different people who is demanding for it

Yeah, we heard all about it, the law of supply and demand. And so, currently we may say that there is no demand because the price is going down low. Nevertheless, if we look and analyze the volume, there is, it's that the buyers are being outnumbered by the sellers, and so it's just a question of why or this is really the nature of bitcoin market as it is open for everyone, Each one of us have our own investment or trading strategy. So there is no single mover in the market, it's a collective effort if we wanted to push the price higher. Same as when it's going on a spiral mode, everyone is pushing that sell button.

1911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: September 15, 2022, 11:48:28 PM
No doubt about that, if you will review their previous fights and the way they finished or beats their opponents.
Inoue's fighting skills are far better than Butler, maybe Butler can last long if he will keep on avoiding a toe-to-toe exchanges of punches.
But if Inoue box him up the chance of him being knock down is high. The monster always has a solid follow up punch, a killing instinct that
will bring him down.

No one can run with Inoue with his current self today because he punched them in the stomach and that too will gonna be equivalent to being punched solid in the face. And also it will be hard fighting him toe to toe because he has some extremely fast punches and is powerful enough to stun and knock out his opponent in the span of split seconds. I'm not closing the chance for Butler but we all know that he has only little chance to win this fight or even to survive up to the last rounds.

Yes, Inoue is a total package now, good chin and defense, and not just very fast hands, but both packs so much power that when it landed to most of his opponents, they are going down or felt the punches and then going to stay defense mode until they got knock out by Inoue.

He is really a fan of the sports, that's why he evolved a lot since he won the WBSS tournament. But you can see that he is really above the best bantamweight that he competed in that tournament including Donaire.

So this is more likely a very hard and difficult for Butler, but he has accepted the challenge because he is not afraid and to be honest, he doesn't have a choice, he has the belt that Inoue want so he will have to take that risk.

No doubt, strategy wise, it might be better if he thinks of surviving the full 12 rounds. Just play defense and try to counter and score points. But if he is man enough as he have said in interviews, he will go toe to toe and ended up in the canvass for good 10 count, Body shots or that left of Inoue, which is very quick but and if hits Butler on the chin or in the temple, it will be a ko win again for the Monster.
1912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: September 15, 2022, 11:28:44 PM
^ I think everyone or at least the majority knows that Crawford wanted this fight since the beginning. And we have been suspecting that it might be the camp of Spence that is delaying this fight for years because of Crawford with Top Rank. But since he is no longer with Bob Arum, we all expect that this fight is going to be made easy. But it seems there is another stumbling block and we all have our speculations and again pointing out the obvious that Spence wanted more time or at least holding up the fight again.

Agree! That fact is not new to us anymore because we knew how Crawford wanted this fight but he just couldn't do it because of Bob Arum and now that he's free, there's another roadblock again that prevents him from making his legacy because it really seems to the public that Spence is not interested to fight Crawford this year after all that statement he made when Spence defeated Ugas.

This might be a picture of modern Mayweather and Pacquiao because I honestly think that Spence is using Mayweather's manual in order to increase his chances of winning the fight.

The major stumbling block has been cleared by Crawford already. So for me, everything is on the side of Spence and his team. Yeah, we could compare this to Floyd and Manny, big hype when Floyd retired and Manny is makng waves on the scene. Floyd comes back but then waited till Pacquiao has been in a lot of wars, his chin is already soften and been crack before he agree to fight.

Anyhow, the fight is at a stalemate, that's why there is no news. The last time that we heard is from Crawford and still hoping that the fight could still be made this year.

People who said its something strange now start to get interested about bitcoin.
Its all over news and btc is mainstream now

I guess it's popularity is growing, specially in the last 4-5 years. There are nations who accept it as legal tender - El Salvador. And many financial institutions are offering it to their client. And even ordinary and average joe can invest on it.

People trust now btc becouse they dont trust things what not supported by well known people.
More investors will jump in couse of ELON MUSK .

It has nothing to do with Elon Musk or his company. Bitcoin has grown because it became one of the biggest asset. It gives people financial freedom. Although it has been heavily regulated by many regulators around the world.

Those who trust tesla trust bitcoijn now

Tesla has suspended vehicle purchases using Bitcoin due to climate change concerns, its CEO Elon Musk said in a tweet.

1914  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Mt. Gox coins affect Bitcoin’s price in August? on: September 15, 2022, 02:46:54 AM
And then we went to $18k and the possibility of another lower lows, but it seems the market has bounce back above $19k but it was not a relief.

Maybe the news really affected us a bit because we remain below the threshold of the whole numbers - $20k. So the best thing now is to observed whether we can touch $19,700 at least this week so the pressure of selling might be taken off at least this weekend.

The news about the release of MT. Gox bitcoin which will start this month will play a huge factor in the next trend of Bitcoin.  I think this news will greatly affect the market because of the possible new volume of BTC to flocks in the sell order of Bitcoin market and might push the price of BTC even lower.  Another thing is the pressure of the next rate hike of FED as stated by Swordsoffreedom.  It looks like Bitcoin will possibly fall under 17k this month.  I hope it won't happen though.

I don't think the mtgox funds are going to start being distributed this month.  They just finalized claims.  More likely we will be given a page to select which payout we want (early or full) and then that process will likely go on for 3-6 months before they start distributing.  Just my opinion, it could be wrong.  I don't think anyone is going to get any funds from mtgox this month though, or next.  We have to decide what payout we want before the trustee can do anything and given that claims took almost 10 years to finalize, I don't see payout types being finalized instantly.

And since we are now in the second week of September, it seems that this news have been forgotten already. And if in fact it did have some effect, we definitely didn't feel it as the loom and doom prediction of $10,000 didn't happen. On the contrary, the price reaches another milestones in $22,000 and up.

So we will see if there is another news about the Mt. Gox coins being being dumped in the market. It might be a slow process or maybe the trustee knows that it will have a bad effect on the price right now, so much better like it will be in the next 3-6 months.
1915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: September 15, 2022, 02:06:31 AM
Regarding the weight issues, yes it is difficult to maintain it, specially if your body is growing and can't adapt to your supposedly weight categories. That's why there are different type of weight classes, so that boxer can fit where they height and body will go. Then go up another notch like what Manny did during his prime and beating large fighters. So for Jerwn, and it the news is true that he can't make the weight properly then it will be a very dangerous fight for him and most likely he might lost again. But if his team are good at working with him round the clock to check how his body is losing that weight, and not body mass, and then still retain his power at absolute peak prior to the fight then they do a good job and most likely Ancajas will have his revenge.
1916  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 15, 2022, 01:44:34 AM
In the final, Alcaraz played well and proved himself to be a worthy opponent for Rudd. There is no doubt that he is now number one, and I also believe that this is a more deserved position. And if this continues I think he is going to keep the tag of being number one in the world for quite some time. Medvedev is a great player but I also agree that he is not someone who can pose a great amount of threat to the other greats in the game. The future belongs to Alcaraz, at only 19 years of age, he has become the number one athlete in the world. A really good time is coming up for him in my opinion.
I think it's the otherway around, it was Ruud who become a worthy opponent on Alcaraz because the kid is one of the favorite to win the US Open and he did it in fashion at 19 years old and then clinching the number 1 spot in just short amount of time.

So now we have someone on top again, and then we have Medvedev. But it is still very open as who will become the next set of big 3 that will dominate tennis in at least a decade.

I really like this type of competition where nothing is absolutely given. I really like that most of the players have the quality to be in the top three spots.
When a 19 year old kid is at the number one spot then you know that the sport is very competitive and players who are actually good can be at the top.
I am not saying that there is no space for the older generation. But people have to realize that in every sport there should be a balance between age and skill, I see that existing now in tennis. And it's always really good to see young players at the top of the food chain.

I got your point, even in other sports, being young and on top of the game and everyone is trying to get your spot, it's going to be hard. So there will be competitions around for years and Alcaraz should be ready by it. Because there are a lot that is going to chase him, like Ruud and then former number 1 Medvedev and the rest of the top seeded. And we still have the last of the great big 3, Djokovic. So it's going to be a fun tournaments, the last remaining calendar games that we still have.

To hype everyone up:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5niaQyq4iGo

Intense face off between the two, and it seems that both of them are ready for a war. It's going to be a great weekend match for everyone and for sure everyone's bet is already in. Noticed though that GGG seems to be not as weight drain, I mean yes he fought at 160 lbs most of his career and then he jumps to 168 lbs here, but you can see his face and his jaw is like round and full unlike those previous fights of his, just saying. So better invite your friends this weekend and watch the fight in PPV.
Thanks for the link.

As expected that there would be some slight physique change and i had noticed it too but its not that surprising considering that there's a slight bump on weight
but lets see if this one wont really be resulting into some sort of slow down.
Im already readying up for this upcoming weekend which would really be a good fight to look upon.Hope it wont disappoint.

GGG sounds not very confident or he wasn't asked the right question to say what has been needed to say but for the love of sport and Canelo wants to bring a good show for the people this Sept 16 which is the independence day of Mecico. Amazing how embarrassing could this be if Canelo loses the fight but Judges may really be on his side.

It's because the interviewer didn't asked the right answer or he just put GGG on the spot. So I don't think that he is not that confident is this fight, he is smiling and acknowledging the crowd but it was obvious a pro-Canelo. And that needed 8 lbs could bring something good in GGG, I think if he decided years ago to move to this division, he can do that. But obviously, he chooses a weight that he dominated for years and that is a good strategy for his career.
1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum (ETH) on Its Way to $2,100, Top Trader Says ! on: September 14, 2022, 03:05:51 AM
I am very interested to see what happens with ETH short term. The merge is this week, I honestly can’t predict what’s going to happen, which way it’s going to go.

Many people are suggesting we will see a relief rally if everything with the merge goes to plan. This could push the price to the OP suggested $2,100.

Will be interesting.

The market turned bearish today after US inflation rates didn't decline as expected, so I doubt ETH will reach $2.1k by the time "The Merge" is completed. We can't expect market prices to turn bullish for a prolonged period of time unless the global economy shows signs of recovery. I don't get why there's so much hype surrounding ETH's PoS upgrade, when other chains adopted PoS before ETH. These are uncertain times we're living into, so we should expect the unexpected. Either prices rise or go all the way down the drain.

Yep, when we think that we are in a rally because of the ETH merge news, suddenly the CPI didn't affect us so bad that the market had a flash crash. Fortunately, it seems that the crash has somewhat stop, currently trading around $20,400. So at least the price didn't go down way below like $18,000 which we did the last time.

It's always important to diversify your investment into more than one cryptocurrency to minimize risks of loss as much as possible. As long as you don't invest more than what you can't afford to lose, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my opinion Smiley

I guess diversity should be in other assets a well, like stocks or even mutual funds or bonds. At least an asset that is not as volatile as crypto will be good in the long run for us.
1919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculators : Bitcoins is up now 21k buy buy buy ! but... on: September 14, 2022, 02:24:29 AM
It's hard to know for sure what triggered the intense selling that caused bitcoin's price to drop again in recent days. Therefore, seeing the bitcoin price currently hovering around $22k, it seems that the bitcoin price has the potential to go down again and move to the $20k area at the end of this month.
The price of Bitcoin is not something we can predict exactly the price. Because this price we are emphasising on, or lamenting every season, do we realize that the price of Bitcoin either it's on falling situation or rising situation, it's determine by the market condition. Actually the demands and supply in the market is what triggers the rising of bitcoins in market, and secondly i believe that when the demand is high the price of bitcoin will rise and when the demand is low the price of bitcoins will fall. And we have to observe this, that whenever we are fast approaching December the price of Bitcoin do rise

And then there is the factor of news, FUDs that have affected the market in a negative way.

The inflation report has just been released, Sept 13 and it didn't looks good at it put a huge dent on the market price, plummeting 10% pulling down the price to low $20,000 when we are just making a huge rally because of the ETH merge. Hopefully we can at least get back to our feet and reaches $21,000 before the end of the week so that we can make a run before this month end and closes on a positive candle.

is this a new generation in tennis starting or just US Open, since big3 domination was lowest on US Open, comparing to Wimbledon, RG and AO

I feel it's more a case of old one giving up. Other than Alcaraz (and potentially Sinner/Aliassime), I don't see any incredible talented youngsters emerging.

In the top 20, we have a lot of decent players that will drop in and out of the top 10 (Tsitsipas, Ruud, Norrie, Zverev, Rublev..), but that is their ceiling. Medvedev is great but he's already 26 years old and hasn't done much with his career so far to be considered a danger to the greats.

Alcaraz has an open path to some easy grand slams if he keeps his current standards.
