2501  Other / Meta / Re: Proposed removal of Matthew N Wright from forum staff. on: August 22, 2012, 03:55:47 AM
Its also funny that a supposed scammer is taking care of his bondholders while JRO is MIA and leaving his lackeys to answer questions.

To be fair, Matthew once wore a scammer tag, but now a staff tag:)  I'm sure being able to "moderate" helps him keep his image as clear as it is, lol!

I expect Bulanula to be promoted to Global Moderator any day now.

That'd be tough, I banned him about a month ago.
2502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Welcome to Bitcoindevs - the friendly Google Groups forum with focus on Bitcoin on: August 21, 2012, 04:35:11 PM
There's a market for everything, and I'm sure you'll find some like minded people. Hopefully it's productive.

This forum probably isn't for everyone, but I find the few detractors are worth the freedom to speak freely.
2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Pirate Runs: The Danger of one entity with 500K BTC on: August 21, 2012, 04:10:34 PM
If it can be killed someone will do it eventually, so might as well be now, we'll be better off. If not it will just prove that it's stronger than people think.

Do you really think someone would do that? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

Oh god I laughed so hard. Everybody lies, even in real life.
2504  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Welcome to Bitcoindevs - the friendly Google Groups forum with focus on Bitcoin on: August 21, 2012, 03:42:01 PM
So you want to ban people you perceive as bullies? Even if they promote discussion and exchange of ideas? People can make up their own minds based on the information given. What happens when you ban/censor/moderate someone for being rude by calling something a scam, and it turns out it was? Will you sleep soundly knowing you helped someone to defraud people?

If people are asking questions you don't like, then either answer them or prove you're more than just talk.

Anyway, good luck, nothing wrong with more forums/choices.

2506  Economy / Lending / Re: Need a 7 BTC Loan on: August 21, 2012, 12:38:07 PM
In one thread a steam account was used as collateral. Yours is probably worth more than $63.

The last one I remember that happening the lender got burned on the loan, so... Wink
Well then the lender got a lot of cheap steam games. Life is tough, but I bet the lender managed to sell off the account for nearly the cost of the loan (if not, then the lender made a poor decision in the first place)

No, Steam gives users several ways to recover accounts, it is not safe to use them as collateral, or to buy them.

Chill dude. If you think it's offensive/disruptive/whatever feel free to delete the post. I didn't mean any harm.

Huh  I was talking about your examples, not your post.
2508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Membergroups; or: Why do some users get colored coins under their names? on: August 21, 2012, 12:09:48 PM
There's a subforum that is only visible to donators.
And what is it for?

Whatever they want to use it for, it's theirs.
2509  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions on: August 21, 2012, 11:43:04 AM
Will there be some message stating if a PM can't be sent?  I sent a couple out as a recently joined member (one post made not long prior to the PM), and I want to know if they got my message.  Thanks!

If you are unable to send PMs it will say so. It should have gone through, you should change your Private Message options to save all outgoing PMs to avoid this in the future.

Pretty much all those sound like textbook trolling/disruptive posting (hard to say since it's hypothetical), which I have no problem banning people for, and do so regularly.

The timer under your stats doesn't update continuously or it would put unnecessary strain on the server, but it is still being tracked.
2515  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 4.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: August 17, 2012, 09:38:04 PM
few "investors" or perhaps nobody will see their bitcoins back. He will now say, I have an unexpected number of withdrawal requests; fulfilling them will take some time, etc. He might even fulfill a few small requests to buy himself some more time. But then it's game over.

Why the hassle of making announcements then? If it was just a ponzi coming down it would have been better to just vanish in the air with the whole loot a.s.a.p.

Well there's already people making a stink about withdrawals, he's gotta tell them something. Like you said, if it were a ponzi.
2516  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BullShit Trust. It is the beginning of the end. on: August 17, 2012, 07:22:36 PM
AGAIN...FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT SPELLED OUT.

IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE DELAY. ONLY THE LACK OF COMMUNICATION DURING SAID DELAY.

This is NOT my fault. I only wanted 114 BTC out of over 2000 available. I NEVER PANICKED.

He looks to have been planning this for a while, nobody actually thinks you have anything to do with it.
2517  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BullShit Trust. It is the beginning of the end. on: August 17, 2012, 06:23:23 PM
Pirate's shutting down, I figured something would happen this weekend with the sharp increase in price lately, then the announced rate cut. Guess he loses the bet now.

Over a week registered, 3 hours online, and 7 posts all in this thread.
