I wonder if some of you trade with very low amounts like $60 in BTC. Is there a chance that you can maximize that small amount by trading?
You may want to try altcoin trading, if you are able to swallow the risk involved. Many coins do have total market cap that is in order of ssingle digits in Bitcoin. $60 would be altered something there. But be warned of the risk there. You may multiply your portfolio but you may as well lose it all, at no news. This is what I was playing around with and I basically found it too frustrating to keep up with. Too many scamcoins and sillynesses and I just didn't have the time or energy or interest to try to figure out what was what. But for someone who's more connected to trends and keeps on top of that kinda stuff anyway it might indeed be a fun way to get started.

The member must have deleted the posts that he considered spammy just to escape getting banned from the campaign. I wonder how he got into this campaign after having a negative trust. Well maybe that's actually a win. I mean, if dude has essentially repented by deleting the spammy stuff and wants to try again with a clean slate then perhaps we should call that a good thing.

what is the average tip on pd from the tipbot and how does it work?
If you're talking about rainbot it's a script by the user hui which accepts donations and then gives them out according to an unreleased algorigthm. There is some information about rainbot here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Primedice/comments/2li0fw/rainbot_faq/EDIT: oh yah, I'd also like to know if there is a restriction on selling PD accounts. Not that I want to buy or sell one (I agree, it's hard to imagine a real market for them), I'm just happy to know the rules.

Thanks for the links, maybe I'll give this a shot (but I dunno, it seems very onerous to me to install all this broken software on my computer just to play poker---maybe it's better just to wait until something nonbroken comes along). The only thing I really have to push back on is that in fact, my mind was being wasted when I used to used windows about 8 years ago. I could only use my computer in the way that MSCORP says I can. I have no choice about when to install updates from MSCORP no matter whether they are broken or not. When I switched to GNU/Linux my mind began to be educated because I suddenly had control of my own CPU. I had a helpful community to help me understand how computers work and how software works. I became master of my own destiny and experienced freedom. So, what I read you saying is: look man, you can take your clean house, dig a hole in the floor, drop a bunch of rat shit in the middle of your living room and wade around it in and then play bitcoin poker for fun. You might be right about that, but I'd hardly call playing around in ratshit a useful exercise for my mind. And, FWIW, I run a really efficient linux distro on a low-memory portable computer so it's just not clear to me that I'll have enough memory to do the virtual box thing. Anyway, I may try. I especially appreciate the link to the trial-iso. Pilot there are many ways to do it. If you don't have enough memory you can partition your hard drive and install in a dual boot system without using VB at all. This should very easy for you to do since you state that you code for bitcoins which is much harder. The only excuse is the no windoze mentality which does not allow you to enjoy the full computer experience now available. You are stuck in the windows vista sucks mentality. That was more than 8 years ago bro. Win7 is super stable and Win8 and up super stable, secure and very light. Get off this dinosaur that only 1% of desktop users use. wwwwin, I'm not suggesting that installing windows is beyond my abilities. I am suggesting that in my own life, freeing my computer from proprietary control has enriched and improved my life and I'm not interesting in moving backwards on that point. Consider what you're saying to me: you're suggesting that a guy like me who finds the mere idea of installing a virtual box of windows sorta disgusting that I should partition my harddrive and put it on my machine for real? I hope you can see how that's a lot like suggesting "well, if the chlorine in this pool is making your eyes uncomfortable, you could always just swim in straight unadulterated bleach". Sorry for the weird example but I'm just trying to point out that if I'm *considering* fucking around with a virtual box to play poker but haven't really found the motivation, it's pretty much nuts to expect that I'm going to partition my hard drive and install a windows there. I'm glad that you like Win7 and Win8 and that you think they are secure and lightweight. I believe that factually you are quite misguided in these points. I think that if you consider Win7 or Win8 to be secure or lightweight then we must have extremely different views of the meaning of these words. If you actually want to see lightweight, run debian testing with a fluxbox desktop on the same machine where you Win8 takes 1.5 minutes to boot up and you will be shocked at the true meaning lightweight. Nevertheless, we digress here. I will also have to agree with the others that complaining about this particular issue is a waste of your time. If you had done what you could have done since your last post you could be playing right now if you wanted to.
You have to imagine that I have other things going on in my life besides fucking around with the software on my computer. Not that I don't enjoy fucking around with the software on my computer, but please. While I'm sure you're correct that if I had dedicated the time between my last post here and this one to fucking around with windows and virtual machines and whatnot I might have found a working solution, I hope you can understand that work, family life and sleeping are also a reality for me. In the days of yore, I was able to enjoy bitcoin poker on my bus ride to work, alas. Perhaps the good days will come again. I hope you can see that by living my life in the way that I choose, I am experiencing freedom and happiness and the fact that my choices aren't the same as yours doesn't mean that I'm "wasting my time". As to whether complaining here is a waste of time, I refer you to Micon's post just below yours in which he says, Okay we've now started developing the android client. We can't examine an alternate timeline, but in this timeline, many of us have complained and it seems quite possible that the SWC team is reacting to these complaints as it figures out what to prioritize. From what I can tell, complaining in this thread is quite the opposite of a waste of time. NOBODY WANTS THE ANDROID VERSION ASAP MORE THAN MICON.
Funny how that exact line keeps cropping up in this thread. How can we know anyone else's inner desires and compare them to others in terms of magnitude. Presumably, Micon has some way to run .EXE files which he feels okay about so in terms of facts we can say that while Micon can play, others cannot. Then again there's the fact that when more of us can play, Micon can make more money so I'm not doubting his motivation. Adapt to the situation which is only temporary. Adapt, survive, find a way to win. Until Android comes out I have been mostly playing while traveling thru Windows VPS on Anfroid tablet connecting to the VPS thru Android RDP with zero issues. ADAPT SURVIVE FIND A WAY TO WIN.
Keep in mind that waiting and doing other things is also an adaption. Who knows, I might try the virtual box thingy with the trial ISO you linked us to at some point in the future. However, I may not. I really find proprietary OSs quite dangerous and I've been experiencing a real "win" in my life once I stopped associating with them. Cheers! Oh yah, this: so there will be no flash client or it will come at the end? #We_want_bet_back #i_want_to_degen_ #askmicon

Last night i started with 0.2bitcoin and took that up to 1.1bitcoin i ended up leaving with 0.7bitcoin so that was a good night, do i always win money from gambling aha NOPE but i am probably even and i have fun ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Do others make money from Bitcoin gambling i can safely say sure they do but the main questin is how much do they get back in to wallets they control? When I speak to other gamblers, I often hear that the real goal is to break even and have fun (not to make money). Obviously we all want to make money but if we are realistic we can come to terms with the fact that gambling is fun and if you break even then you had fun for free.

I forgot that the subsection of gambling were invalid for the payment, I will do better this week ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I admit I haven't followed all the changing stipulations on which sections are paid and which aren't, but it's quite a surprise to me if you're correct that "gambling" wouldn't be paid. Presumably, as a gambling site, dadice would value advertising in "gambling" quite highly. I know that in the preview of Stunna's (not yet released) sig campaign with varying rates for different sections, gambling was in the highest paid class. Why wouldn't dadice want to advertize in gambling?

Again, wearsmyliberty, I have to disagree. Respectfully reminding of the problem is crucial so that the SWC folks have it in mind how many people care. If no one was griping, how would they know if anyone cared?

Looks like I got credited for 88 out of 102 posts. I'd love to know if my 14 uncounted posts were considered "unconstructive" for some reason or if they were simply in unpaid sections or something. I guess I'm asking in this moment because it seems like counting is going on currently so whoever counted mine may be online at the moment and have the answer in their head without having to go back and check again or whatever (which is obviously too much work).
I just wanted to post back here that I got a PM which let me know that my discarded posts were because they were in threads that don't count (I played a game in games and round and I posted a few times in here). Thanks y'all. See you next week!

Why does PD have only English as languages options? PD is expanding, why not add popular languages like Chinese, Russian?
Translating the whole site would probably be quite costly and most people would understand most of the english words and google translate is your friend. Furthermore, I don't think devs have lots of time to attempt to redesign the whole site to suit the languages. I don't think this is true. A lot of the interface is simply pictures with single word descriptors. You could probably translate the whole site in less than an hour. The only exception would be some of the docs like the api description, but even in English these are only partially complete so you could reasonably leave these as English only. In my opinion, offering ru.primedice.com (etc) alongside en.primedice.com would be really cool.

Really funny to see there are a lot of people sending bitcoins to these addresses. Actually, at some point, some anti-bitcoiner or another was leading a campaign to send as many coins as he could to the eater address. There's a thread about it here somewhere. I recall others saying: well, since bitcoins are finite, the more you destroy, the more value is in the ones I don't destroy so "thanks". I'm sure you can turn that thread up if you search around. Pretty interesting. EDIT: haha, I just realized the link in (more info) was the exact thread I was talking about. Silly me.

Hi
Probably discussed before but do you plan to release a browser lobby/ tables instead of an EXE ?
Indeed, I we've been griping about it for many pages. Supposedly an android client is next (which will solve my issue) then they're doing more desktop clients for other OSes, then finally html5. I dunno why it's not the other way around. Yup, I'm one of the gripers too! I have to say, I'd love to hear the rationale as to why they targeted the "new software" they were working on so long at WINDOZE only. I know that's what's done is done, but in my opinion, even mavens using flash (and i hate flash) was better than nothing. i think that you already know this, but.... They wanted to bring certain games and features to sealswithclubs.eu which they accomplished by PURCHASING EXISTING SOFTWARE which had the featureset that they were looking for with the intention of finishing multiple clients PRIOR TO RELEASE. Then sealswithclubs.eu was shut down unexpectedly and rather than nothing for everyone they decided to move forward with what they had while they worked on the rest for swcpoker.eu. As an android player, I miss poker too...but griping about it here is not going to change anything. Well I'm in the same boat as sed (and maybe the same boat as you) and I have to disagree on one point. Griping here may indeed change something because registering the gripes gives Micon and his team an idea of what's important to their customers (or potential customers). If we stay silent and say nothing then swc team may simply not realize how many folks will rejoin when they fix their platform issues.

When is the next payment?
Tomorrow. Counting is being done.. The cut off is tomorrow or today? Today, in fact around now. Uh oh, I thought we had till end of day today (Tuesday). Current UTC is 15:20, don't we have 7 hours or so? (Sorry I'm a procrastinator, I was away for quite a few days this week.) Never post for the campaign. Post because you want to post. Anyway, counting will be done around this time, every week. It is just to ensure that you will get the payout earlier. (in case of any unexpected events or so). Whatever posts you make will either go to this week or to the next (that is if you are still on the campaign. I understand, I didn't mean to imply that I'm posting for the campaign only. I did, however, mean to imply that I was planning on spending some time on the forum today and that I want to meet the minimum post requirement for the week if possible. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) So, I understand that the cutoff is sometime in the afternoon on Tuesday? (16:00?) Yep, probably on most days. It is just that, the manager, comanager and escrow happens to be from different parts of the world ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) We can either make it early or a little late. We chose early, since escrow will be online after we complete it. And to avoid any unforeseen circumstances from having a toll on this. Wow, you guys are ahead of what I expected again. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I guess I should think of this as cutoff on Monday night in my TZ. Looks like I got a B+, as far as I can tell, that seems to be waaaay above the average. I don't know how I can compete with Shorena and quickseller with their A+s but given how many Ds and Fs you gave out, I'm reasonably satisfied. Cheers. Looking forward to watching that spreadsheet action and apparantely payday is one day ahead of my expectations.

I posted about this topic a few months ago and the responses I got were pretty interesting: http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=677129Bitmixer.io automatically excludes posts that are under 75 characters in length although I believe it is the only one out there that has such a restriction. For any particular post, length is a poor-to-average indicator of constructiveness. For example, here is a post I made that was very short but reasonably constructive. The OP complained about the newbie posting limits and believed that their posts were getting discarded by the forum software. I was the first to reply that that this was not in fact true and showed them how to retrieve their posts by accessing the draft feature. Post length becomes a better indicator of constructiveness once it is applied to posting history. Those with entire post histories that consist of short one or two sentence replies are highly likely to have their posts classed as unconstructive while the opposite is true for those who have a history of making lengthier posts. As for some examples of highly constructive posts, here is one and here is another. Note that these posts manage to be constructive without being overly long. For an automated solution, post length is probably the only realistic measure of constructiveness that we have today since machines currently lack the intelligence to classify posts based on their semantics and context within the overall thread. [snip] Of course you're right that this is indeed beyond the scope of most signature ad campaigns but in fact we might have the technology to do this, given the work. Imagine you train a classifier on the posts of a thread and then measure the perplexity of a given post with respect to that thread, I wonder if you could find the right set of features such that this sort of framework could be a proxy for "constructiveness". ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Everyone who uses BTC can be expected to know what 1 BTC is. The same cannot be said of these ridiculous names for decimal places that are too easily confused with one another by business and consumer alike, and may shift in and out of common use (and memory) depending on the fiat/BTC exchange rate. [snip]
I agree wholeheartedly about the ridiculous name of "bits" however, in fact, everyone with a secondary education can also be expected to know what SI prefixes are because they aren't ridiculous and are quite standardized across the globe. milli means 10^-3 micro means 10^-6 and the standard abbreviations for these of m and u (actually, a lowercase mu but people use 'u' in ascii). These are not ridiculous at all and if I speak of KBTC (thousands of btc) or mBTC (thousandths of a btc) I expect anyone with basic education to understand or to take it upon themselves to understand.

Just stick to Mitchell's definition (that the escrow must have additional balance in case participants aren't paid)
The thing is, there won't be an instance in which the participants won't be paid. Not true. It has happened a few times. If needed I'll provide sources, but right now, I'm too busy to look em up. Can you provide the sources? I am really interested to see them (when you will have 5 minutes of free time). Thanks. Really just searching back through the forums should turn up quite a few of these instances. I also can't remember most of the names at the moment but what I recall happening quite often was that a campaign ran smoothly for a month or so and then the campaign manager disappeared. UP/DOWN did this even though they had paid very good money to be a high class memeber of the bitcoin foundation. Everyone here was saying why would he pay so much to bitcoin foundation just to ruin his reputation here over a few measely BTC.
