2523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 02, 2018, 03:10:17 AM
We have just released a major update to the BitBay Web Wallet. This update adds some amazing new features including individual multisignature accounts, time-locked payments, and joint accounts with up to 15 signatories. Check it out at https:// wallet.bitbay.market

that is quite an nice update for sure...

imagine on a day like this bay had the rolling peg on... would be a safe haven far more so that tether right now.

2526  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If this crash continues ALL SMART MONEY will move to these projects on: February 01, 2018, 05:13:53 PM
The reason being if there is a huge crash you will see these " development funds" that all the dreams and talk white paper ico pushers (which are probably being dumped right now) will never be enough to see the project to anywhere near completion.

That will take care of the dreams and talk projects that were probably always going to stay that way. That will never produce usable actionable code with any real use case.

Next you just have the copy and pasters with no real clue how to handle any problems or make any changes to the projects they cloned. They may function okay and do what they need to do but why do they need to exist? It is that lack of need/individual use or specific use case that will see them fail right after the dreams and talk whitepapers that are blinding you with science and promises but don't tell you that their plans mostly require advancements worthy of nobel prizes and will never happen. Or the fact they just intend to burn the dev fund and start a new project under a new name soon.

So then you are left with proven long term developers who have ALREADY created and produced working function software with a real use case.
There is no point in these people leaving their projects they are ready and complete/almost complete. They have likely seen many rise and falls like this (perhaps not on this scale) and will continue to be the only REAL projects on this board. These projects with have PROVEN HIGHLY SKILLED DEVS AND DEV TEAMS. not just on paper but their code/designs speak for them.

Of course there will be a tiny tiny fraction of projects that do not fall into the REAL UNDERVALUED PROJECTS currently that will produce something of worth. But the chances of you picking it from 1000's of failures is not very hopeful.

Don't be the last to move over to REAL projects that have some actual reason to exist and do exist already.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2479595.0

there are a handful of projects that have real projects already completed that were not manipulated or scammy distributions that are not listed but not more than a handful that fill the criteria laid there in the OP.

If you disagree with this post I would like to hear why because perhaps there is yet some thing solid to factor in that would render this claim invalid.

2527  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system is not working, failed! on: February 01, 2018, 04:54:36 PM
I agree it will not reward all the good posters and some will try to abuse it

however it does slow down and hopefully will eventually destroy the bots and useless account farmers.

Even better if they merit starts to erode massively with reports (found true) of spam and bot posting. False report = loss for reporter.
2528  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do you think i should sell my coins to cut my losses? on: February 01, 2018, 04:51:39 PM
some good ones some over priced promises and junk.... with that porfolio it is just about a hold and see.

the vast amount of fud right now is off the scale... it can't stay like that.

The only one I voted for on that list was ByteBall since it's actually something different instead of just another "me too" coin.  I'd like to have seen Nano (formerly known as RaiBlocks) on that list.  I see it as what BTC originally aimed to be—a truly usable cryptocurrency.

Without a doubt one of the most inventive and different. There are some others on that list that are good too. Although you could argue perhaps anything any other blockchain based coin can do perhaps btc can be made to do. So they would be me too coins.

Most of that list are way above and beyond other projects on this board.
2530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: February 01, 2018, 03:55:17 PM

2531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TETHER - what is the big deal even if it is a scam? on: February 01, 2018, 02:35:16 PM
The reasoning goes as follows:

If Tether is not backed 1:1 with USD, but in the meantime they have printed Tethers as if they were, they have essentially bought Bitcoin on a large scale with IOU's that are worth much less than a USD. Which would mean Bitcoin's price has been inflated with air. That printing started somewhere in September or November. Look in the chart what the real price of Bitcoin should be.

The issue is whether the 2BN is there or not, the news that it could possibly not be there is already published and being priced in. It would take an official announcement from the SEC that Tether is not a scam for the price to recover, but I don't see that happening. The result is even if you're not a holder of Tether, you will see the prices of almost all coins go down.

How did we ever let shit like tether enter this arena if there was no proof or auditing constantly that they were not just printing this dog shit with no USD for real to back it up.

Do you mean you don't see the SEC announcing tether was on the level or you believe tether is not on the level. I mean surely if they are not banged up and tether destroyed then they must have been on the level.

Either way unless that had constant and continual auditing done by some big trusted places then of course it must be avoided like the plague.

Also how does 2bn (i mean not all of it could be fake right? so maybe just 1bn or less) destroy the value by so much?

What will happen to the issuers if they are found guilty of fraud on such a huge scale?
2532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / TETHER - what is the big deal even if it is a scam? on: February 01, 2018, 01:16:53 PM
So what are the implications for non tether holders and on exchanges that deal with tether but do not issue it?

Obviously if it is not a scam and they have the 2BN then there is not an issue anyway?
2533  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ALTS are the NEXT BIG THING? Add your Valid suggestion here now >>>>> POLL on: February 01, 2018, 01:07:13 PM
Ethereum Is the next big Altcoin.  Ethereum has surpassed many Altcoin in network stability and use.  And there is planned development that is been carried out in Ethereum.  Another thing is ethereum has a leader that is constantly steering it to adoption and development.

Ethereum is certainly already in the top 10 so is already a big thing.
2534  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will ripple recover? on: February 01, 2018, 10:39:13 AM

Soon the available value will start to find it's way to the projects with the best PROVEN development teams

Added two more devs to BitBay team today. Both with crypto experience Smiley
It's good the team is always expanding.
