1641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 09, 2018, 08:29:10 AM
when are we relisting the units as mbytes or bytes??

first bit of good news here for some time

this will have a good impact for the next bull run bringing in the next swarms of people that believe cheap random unit size is important and not looking at MC
We aren't. Where is all this FUD coming from? lol - this Pineappleexpress idiot has got you all spreading rumours

FUD?

how can this positive move requested by many in this community be fud?

I (and many, many ,any others) 100% agree with you, its a common request from the community which clearly makes sense to do

For what is worth I am against that TBH, as I was against the change in unit of account from BTC to mBTC, bits or anything else.

There is no sensible argument for not reducing the unit size.

It has been demonstrated time and time again that gbyte resisted major noob investment due to the perceived expense of byteball. I must of seen 100 threads about why people decided on other projects with far larger market caps because they were cheaper and better value based on unit size.  The fact they are misguided did nothing to boost our cap and thus gain far more attention and financial support.

1642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: October 08, 2018, 05:53:42 PM
Update:
Testing going well.
Haven't run into any bugs for 3 days now. Still lots more to test.

QT wallet development with peg integration is progressing just fine
Hopefully in another 2-3 weeks we will be ready for test exchange release to multiple cexes.

Excellent news. Be great to have this fully functional and get some awareness and people testing it out.

We should later start contacting online merchants selling expensive high risk (over the net) items for which the buyer does not feel happy to risk using bitcoin or having to trust escrows for.

wallet.dat doesn't contain any blacknet info. Keep your mnemonic for claiming.
BLK are burned for fair distribution. I think it's for good Smiley
Keep wallet.dat to prove ownership of burned BLK, in case you did a mistake in process.

thanks for the answer.
1644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Blacknet | IBO for BlackCoin | New code | PoS | No ICO on: October 08, 2018, 10:36:10 AM
Laboratorium EE has released a tool which visualizes initial burn offerings, featuring Blacknet and Ercoin.

Wow, awesome little site, nice to keep track of in this manner.

I'm quite amazed about the amounts that some people are burning, also because there is sparse info. Quite some people burning around 10k coins, the biggest even being 249k, crazy Cheesy

249k is really a lot, this guy will have a big share from the Blacknet project.

I expect most blackcoin will be burned.
Rat4 created pos3 which is basically what stands out about the project.

If he is moving to blacknet it would make sense for most to move there too right?

Can i also Burn with 1.2.5 or i need the 1.2.5.1?

When i will Burn 10k BLK

then i must:
Quote
burn 10000 "Public key"

Then i must update on 1.2.5.2 and i can stake with my old wallet dat BLK "old"?

Yes. Also you can use 1.2.5 with account generated on site: https://blacknet.ninja/generator.html

can i enter new blacknetkeypair command! Will the new mnemonic key be valid for the previous public key, for which I did not initially save the mnemonic key Huh

Creating a new mnemonic will make a new key.  it won't be linked to a previous key pair.

If you didn't save the mnemonic for the public key you used when burning blk, I think the blackcoin and the blacknet tokens are both lost to the void forever.

I think we can replace the key, if he proves ownership of burned BLK and there are no objections.

OK, so THX then i will done follow steps:

- start old wallet 1.2.5
- Generate a new key: https://blacknet.ninja/generator.html and write down the "account, "public key" and "Mnemonic"
- Start the debug window or CLI to execute following commands.
- For example with 10k old BLK and these public key: 28728a408f080aec48be9a0e07dd509f7be98f9cb8ce94c7630702154af7cced
- burn 10000 28728a408f080aec48be9a0e07dd509f7be98f9cb8ce94c7630702154af7cced
- So i can wait for the new Blacknet Wallet with my "account, "public key" and "Mnemonic"
- Then i close the BlackCoin Wallet and update at 1.2.5.2 and can stake at the BLK chain and the remaining BLK.
- After the release of the new Blacknet i can restore my new Coins!

I think this is correct?

this part needs clarity for me anyway

- So i can wait for the new Blacknet Wallet with my "account, "public key" and "Mnemonic"
- Then i close the BlackCoin Wallet and update at 1.2.5.2 and can stake at the BLK chain and the remaining BLK.
- After the release of the new Blacknet i can restore my new Coins!

account public key and mnemonic Huh

is this all just info contained anyway in  the wallet dat file  that you sent your blackcoins from to be burned??

I mean the wallet.dat file that you sent your blackcoins to be burned from will contain your public key and Mnemonic (private key or password to protect the wallet dat file)

if it is that simple as to prove you control the wallet.dat (private keys) that sent the coins to be burned to the address you got from blacknet.ninja  then how can people be getting it wrong.

I will not try it myself until there is clarity on this. The worrying thing is many people on this thread that have tried it seem to come unstuck

after giving the burn instruction to the debug instruction window you just keep your wallet.dat safe  for later claiming....

yes or no

or is there some other steps?

Also are these blackcoins we are sending to a burn address getting destroyed for good? so a huge reduction in blackcoin circulation is about to take place for good?

I don't have any doubt that rat4 can create something just as good or better than eos so I will certainly burn 70% of my blackcoins if

1. they are burned for good
2. I can get the process correct and not lose my blackcoins for nothing due to not having a video or annotated pic tutorial.

1648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LET US- LIST - some old established projects where the dev team is highly active on: October 07, 2018, 12:45:19 PM
come on surely the entire forum is not bots and noobs that didn't hear of bitcoin before 2017?

there must be 1% left of crypto enthusiasts that followed interesting crypto projects in the past?
1649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / LET US- LIST - some old established projects that could be under the radar. on: October 07, 2018, 12:17:34 PM
Let's create a list of older more established projects where the dev team is still highly active. The original dev team - not some take over pump and dump crew.

No icos after 2016 - the newer ones are probably still pretending to be active whilst using up all the " dev funding" before leaveing to start a new project.

List some good old projects with the original team still pushing ahead - should have a use case that could possibly make it shine from bunches of clones. Like where the dev team has been first to make a beneficial change to a code they forked. Of course if they have created their own code from the ground up that is even better.

I will read the posts and add them this OP

I will add some to get you started then we can either add or remove project based on arguments presented.

** adding this*** let's locate good projects under the radar ( i.e not already very well known top 30 projects) since these will surely be ripe for better ROI

Bitbay
blocknet
komodo
Byteball
Litecoin - added suggestion of Red-Apple - not sure how much of an investment opportunity such high cap coins are
sys

doge - ** not sure about the activity but has been suggested
xmr - active not sure how much of an investment opportunity already well known top 10
Lisk - suggested by krisnajsadrak

add older projects here where the dev team is still going strong....

NO KNOWN AND PROVEN SCAM COINS CAN BE ADDED TO THIS LIST.

It would seem the old thread like this got deleted somehow.

Try to highlight what makes them stand out and reasons why you believe they are going  to stand a chance in this field from here.

1651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [WDC] Worldcoin | 3.0 Flirtatious Ant Released! | Multicoin architecture on: October 07, 2018, 11:30:34 AM
Hello guys, it's Xanur here from the worldcoin global forum and discord.

I'm not good with words and english is not my first language so I will get to the point.

A lot has happened the last couple of years in the history of Worldcoin. We have had our ups and downs (mostly). After the Scharmbeck incident/scam or whatever you want to call it, we lost most of our community members. Some community members tried to pick it up and continue the further development of Worldcoin.

First the Worldcoin Alliance was formed. I don't know the details, but most of the board members disappeared just like the first team. Thankfully Berzeck picked up the project and continued the development of the Worldcoin wallet. As most of you know, Berzeck stepped down in 2017 because of issues with a Chinese group of people.

Berzeck left the Worldcoin protocol mostly untouched, because of disagreement within the community. Because of this the asics/multipools hit us hard and peaks in network difficulty led to an unstable network, too fast or too slow blocktimes etc. Alferz from the Worldcoin Global forum came up with the proposal to fork Worldcoin and use the CryptoNight PoW algorithm as a (temporary) solution. I support this as a temporary solution and decided to work on this as of september.

I want to hear what the community thinks about this, and if there is support from within the community. Keep in mind this is a temporary solution and after the fork is done, I want to come up with a longterm plan for further development.

I am aiming for a fork Q4 this year. However my resources (mostly time) is also limited. Nevertheless development will continue on.

sounds good

anything will be an improvement upon the mess world coin is now

to let a project of its previous size be reduced to the joke that it currently is is mismanagement of the previous dev  at best and outright deliberate sabotage of all its supporters investments at worst

Fully operational long-term rental platform. It leverages blockchain technology to ensure seamless rental experience and allows for crowdsourcing to help tenants unfreeze millions of dollars tied up in rental security deposits.

ban the above account - some crazy bot spouting madness
1653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are proofs of the real existence of the team important for an ICO? on: October 07, 2018, 11:12:30 AM
I think the existence of the team is important but it doesn’t actually change anything to be honestly
Hashcard has a real team amongst other things
Beautiful whitepaper, sweet project; they even delivered cards to investors
They ended up running always with over 100,000,000 dollars

exactly ... stick with pow coins with fair release

actually just stick with btc and you will be okay

for most noobs and those that have no deeper understanding here just stick with btc or get raped hard.
1654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Yobit exchange- worst case security + support work imho on: October 07, 2018, 11:10:57 AM
come on yobit is obviously going to get closed down at any moment

the place  does not update wallets so it creates hostage coins that it then creates its own fake market for

can't even believe they are still open

1655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DID some dude actually just get 1200 BTC frozen for weeks already by binance? on: October 06, 2018, 11:06:45 AM
Found an unconfirmed source here: https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/9lcn2l/12k_btc_has_been_blocked_on_my_binance_account/
It is really crazy and unfortunate if true. People need to start learning how to use  decentralized exchanges getting used to it. Afterall Cryptocurrency use to be much difficult and slower to use than PayPal but look at how far we have gone.   More users on DEXs will help fast track their development.

It's high time people started using Decentralized exchange more and Centralized ones less.
.

thanks for source

couldn't agree more about the essential nature for dex's to take off and relieve people from the stress and worry about having coins on centralised exchanges that can be hacked or frozen at any time and you can't even find out exactly why
1656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / DID some dude actually just get 1200 BTC frozen for weeks already by binance? on: October 04, 2018, 06:10:56 PM
Has anyone else picked up on this news?

The story goes (as i have heard it)  binance was told by "legal enforcement" his funds looked suspect.

The customer has not been contacted by this branch of legal enforcement  and binance will not even put him in contact or tell him the details

Scary as hell.

Then again if you had 1200btc on a centralised exchange you probably have  thousands elsewhere.

Even so that is not the point.

WHERE ARE THE FUCKING DEX'S ALREADY - come on we need fully operational fully featured dex's with some sensible ux right now  !!!!

Scary having to trust other people with the ownership of your coins whilst you trade them.

Would be great to have such a huge stash but to have it all seized and have no right to even know exactly why or how to contact the apparent legal authorities that have apparently induced binance to freeze them is crazy shit.

what is happening with the exchange? the deposit and withdraw are impossible.

I bet cryptopia are hoping for some good news on this too lol

I can see no easy way for a mec return here

shame really I was hoping for a comeback same as with world coin and all the famous wave 1 alts

1660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Health Care Related ICO's on: September 30, 2018, 10:01:54 PM
Avoid ICO's and avoid the need for health care to cope with depression, stress and other mental illness

stick with btc is the most healthy choice if you don't know what you are doing and hate research
