1701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is ETH collapse caused by panic selling of all the ETH raised in ICOs? on: September 19, 2018, 12:55:19 AM
Eth is collapsing like all alts.
It another alt albeit one with a superior dev team.

BTC dominance will return but I expect eth to remain number 2.

Since the vast majority of icos turned out to be junk and scams the interest in eth has dropped. However in time the other use cases for eth will be more widely utilized and if their scaling ideas work out nicely it will do well again.

Eth has a strong development team. Most of the icos could not even maintain a ltc straight clone or basic pos 3 clone.

ICO's are run by marketeers who failed to get their seed money outside of the crypto fomo arena.  For the most part they never had any hope of completing 2% of their fantasy white papers.

I hate to think of the btc and eth sucked from so many noob investors ...... sad and scary.

stick with btc or eth unless you are a master in conceptual design, coding , math specifically game theory .

1702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Yearly September Bull Run on: September 19, 2018, 12:47:18 AM
When you are expecting a bull it will not come.

When you give up all hope and quit. Then only will it arrive.

If you can afford to just walk away and stop worrying about crypto then at some point the bull will return to the crypto market and certainly for btc. The probability of the majority of  alts having another huge bull is low.

However good alts with time tested proven teams with good use cases that are not easily replicated by btc in such a specialised way have the best chances so long as they are not over valued already.

1703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feel like quitting on: September 19, 2018, 12:43:41 AM
Keep stacking btc that you can afford each month and hodl

Be patient ... Rome wasn't built ...

If you are expecting to pick from here winning alts out the sea of diluted trash then that is probably a bad move and a waste of btc

If you are locked into huge losses don't just hold you can still swap to other projects that have dropped massively but have a good chance of a rebound

Strong time tested proven teams ... there are some out there getting close and some have some good use cases too.

1704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which Altcoin can change Ether? on: September 19, 2018, 12:12:49 AM
I don't see any projects that will challenge ether for quite some time.

The network effect is pretty strong for them.

I don't expect ether to challenge btc in real terms either for the 1 spot.

Of course if you are just talking coinmarketcap.com then anyone can do anything at anytime .

1705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you think Ethereum will be relevant? on: September 19, 2018, 12:08:55 AM
a long time

I don't see many developers at all that are of their teams level

There are a few good teams but they will all be relevant for a long time too

Of course black swan events are always there.

1706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeepOnion, an absolute failure? on: September 19, 2018, 12:05:49 AM
Get an expert to evaluate their anon design compared to known expert teams like zcash etc

I expect that would be the only way to know if it is ever going to go anywhere. Price means little regarding the future long term success.

I agree the distributional method was way better than most .... well from what I understood anyway. Of course it is still far more open to abuse that fair release lengthy POW with fast scaling dif and low initial rewards.
1707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Both Bitcoin and Ethereum are going to lose on: September 18, 2018, 08:02:57 PM
For now, as far as they're still the base tokens for ICOs, they're not going anywhere anytime soon.

I believe other currencies with improved transaction speed etc might come up with better use cases, but it'll take a whole lot of time to over throw those 2 Kings... It's like the dollar vs other currencies.

No such currencies without serious trade offs

this seems a very wide spread fallacy regarding so called blockchain3.0 and other such new dreams and talk white papers

1708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MEC] MEGACOIN - New Release Core 0.15.0.2 - Mandatory Update!!! on: September 15, 2018, 10:49:08 AM
Please, anyone, tell me when the market will be resume on exchanges. I want to trade Megacoin.

Cryptopia paused the market on 20th July and after that no updates. I am really wanting to know about the status. Please let me know.

It is really strange that no one bothers to update the community on whats going on.

For those who wonder, I think cryptopia/mec have been attacked in a similar to what happened to bottlecaps some months ago. Look at the bottlecaps thread some pages back for an explanation.

Someone have deposited lots of mec, sold it, withdrawn btc, rolled back the mec blockchain. This means:

1.Cryptopia have lost a lot of btc.
2.Cryptopia don't have enough mec to cover their customers balances. If you have mec on cryptopia now the coins don't exist.

there is only ever like 0.2btc of mec buy orders how much btc did they lose?

There were signifcantly more buy orders then 0.2 btc. If you look at the weekly charts the volume was 19,2 btc during the attack. And now with the market closed there is still 2 btc in buy orders after the drop from 343 to 90 satoshi.

hmm thats a significant loss then.... Sad

swaps are not really a good idea when people have their coins trapped on yobit
1710  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Walmart Sells Bitcoin at $1 on: September 13, 2018, 03:57:08 AM
That picture didn't say $Bitcoin is $1 It only says $Bitcoin payment is accepted! and you can pay as little as $1. So  I believe the pictures say a different thing from $Bitcoin at $1. Shows how shops over the world are beginning to find $Bitcoin a convenient way of paying! It will increase gradually until its generally adopted. My only worry is if the techology is going to scale to handle the bigger usage that is yet to come! Because I can't pay for a cup of coffee and wait 5 hours to get my coffee because of confirmation speeds. Things have to change in that aspect. Overall things are looking good for $Bitcoin regardless of the shape of the market now.

Walmart is selling "bitcoin" chocolates for $1. That's it. Where does it say that bitcoin payments are being accepted?

it does not ,,,,i think he was kidding or just dreaming

wallmart accepting btc news comes next year sometime i expect with most other stores

i expect amazon and ebay to be some of the first to capitulate to btc .. or that is what I am hoping anyway since that is where I tend to buy most things I need.

LN is key

still its a good bit of fun news and who knows it could lead to some small amount of extra attention for btc and crypto from the younger kids or just those who like choco money
1711  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total Marketcap Predictions on: September 13, 2018, 03:55:48 AM
Altcoins... Marketcap...

Pajeet make 100,000,000,000 coins.
Pajeet sell 1 coin for $1 to hes brother Pansun.
Now we have $100,000,000,000 capitalisation.
WOW!!!

Why did you have to make it sound possible?

I made my example sound crazy and implausible so I can keep doing it.

Thanks for trying to mess things up for me on here.
1712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Total Marketcap Predictions on: September 13, 2018, 03:51:48 AM
Hi guys.
If the crypto will ever rise again (which i highly doubt will ever happen), in your opinion what is the total market cap they will reach ?
I do think that if they will ever rise again and not just disappear, they could go to around 2 trillion dollar before bursting again.
What are your opinions about?

it will go over 50 trillion

i am developing a coin with a 50 trillion minting

i am going to get it listed on a low level exchange after buying out my own ico in 2 mins

and sell back and forth to myself  a bunch at just around the 1 dollar per coin price.. to get some good fake vol

just finishing up cashing out my other slightly smaller scale icos from last year before i get rocking with it

1716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Byteball shitcoin? on: September 13, 2018, 01:49:13 AM
I was highly critical of the initial distribution and the continued chopping and changing of ideas of how to distribute at a whim

HOWEVER

From all of the designs out there anonymint found it of interest and I believe jl777 grabbed up some

I would therefore assume it is better than 99.99% of dog shit on here including most of the top 50

The distribution will take some time to balance out but i expect when it does .....

The assumption older project are less of a potential investment vehicle is a big mistake of noobs here

TONYCH does not listen to his community for the most part that is the most worrying thing ... but that he has extreme talent I have little doubt.

what is happening with yobit are we saying all the sys coins on there are now void??

I am not impressed by that at all if that is the case

What would it take to make those coins valid again?

I've personally sent YoBit requests to upgrade at every core release, however, they simply have not updated. We do not recommend them at all and cannot 'force' them to upgrade as it is completely their responsibility:

Reference:

https://twitter.com/syscoin/status/1002636131219861504

So are we saying that if they were to upgrade the wallet then the sys there are valid once again?
