1901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the name of altcoins that is good for investment at the moment on: June 24, 2018, 05:28:07 PM
There are only a handful of real alts worth investing in rather than btc. I would just hold btc if i were you.

If you want to look at others these are the only ones

bitbay
blocknet
piv
byteball
sys

there are a few others but those above are good bets for current market caps.

INDIVIDUAL COIN/TOKEN PRICE IS NOT IMPORTANT ONLY CONSIDER THE MARKET CAP OF THE ENTIRE PROJECT
1902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE MOST IMPORTANT THREAD ANY NOOB CAN READ -----------CURRENT JUNE 2018!! POLL! on: June 24, 2018, 01:23:14 PM
I'd say there's a pretty strong use case in buying coffee (or paying for ride share coordinated via DApp) with crypto and not having to stand around for a minute or more awaiting block confirmation, nor deal with an exorbitant transaction fee.

An asset/token platform that facilitates zero-confirmation instant transactions at high throughput with PoW double-spend protection is most ideal.

As such, Syscoin all the way.  Syscoin 3 utilizes Z-DAG (masternode enabled transaction DAG relay) among other unique technologies, solving many longtime challenges faced by blockchain tech.  It is, in and of itself, the best suited protocol for point-of-sale, without resorting to external layers like Lightning Network, or otherwise compromising decentralization, in order to compensate for inefficient design.

Instant transactions at minuscule (hundredths of a penny) fees.  High throughput.  Horizontal and vertical scalability.  BOOM.

LN should take care of that.

But for sure sys is a top tier alt and one of only a handful I would hold aside from btc. I aim to increase my sys pot along with 6 other alts this year.

more discussion to encourage adoption required

Is the yobit syscoin market for real? i see their wallet in maintenance but is this just a temp issue

what have the devs here heard from yobit about when the wallet will go live again.
afaik they have been live trading sys 2 post fork even though they were told not to.

damn that would explain the bargain prices there

thanks for answer
1905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Give me suggestion! I already lost my money. on: June 24, 2018, 12:22:32 PM
hold btc only unless you are a skilled coder/conceptual designer and understand how to analyse alts

there are only a handful of alts that are worth it

no other way to discourage such actions.

1908  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 22, 2018, 09:14:04 AM
I see that again and again there are people here who claim that Byteball should be not be listed in Gigabytes in exchanges since this would be harming the price, because investors would perceive the high cost of one Gigabyte very expensive. I have always been against the "tactical" idea of scaling down the official unit of measurement just for the purpose to benefit the price. Tony has always stated that he is not interested in the price but in the distribution of the coin, and I have always agreed on that.

But then, I've also seen Byteball listed in Gigabytes on Coinmarketcap and something has suddenly clicked in my mind.
The fact that Byteball is measured in Gigabytes is not a problem because this is harming its price.

The fact that Byteball is measured in Gigabytes is a problem because it is crucially violating Byteball's mission number one: to achieve mass adoption.

It is an interesting argument, but the real focus is not just widespread distribution of Byteball, but widespread adoption. If you do shift the unit of listing at exchanges to MegaBytes or KiloBytes, you would have more people buying. The problem is that most of them will be speculators with no motive of trying to use bytes.

Who's using it now?

https://byteball.fr/heartbeat.php

There's maybe a few transactions per minute on average, every node that matters is operated by one person, and the trading volume is only $100k per day (no one is even speculating on it). I don't really see how it can degrade the situation much at this point.

It definitely will not degrade the situation. I was just trying to see if the logic of changing the denomination would increase adoption (and not speculative buyers). It is not that straightforward, but worth a shot. It would be pretty easy for Tony and co to implement it as well.

Look the entire crypto market including btc is for speculators  There is no widespread adoption yet so gbytes a basically unheard of untested tech is dreaming of focusing on these pipe dreams right now.

It goes like this.

1. get the speculators (we did have those before we fucked them all over a few times)
2. get a high position on that manipulated shit hole coinmarket cap(THIS IS YOUR MARKETING PHASE)
3. get attention get more attention (THIS IS YOUR MARKETING PHASE)
4. bring the tech to maturity so it is not pushed aside for then next latest and greatest design
5. with the attention and tech maturity bring the gradual adoption if the project deserves it.

it is not the exchanges who decide the denominations it is packaged it is the developer. Smart projects already noticed the noob wave of imbeciles who seek per unit cheap tokens and ignore high individual cost tokens.

It was foolish to ever seek denominations of gbyte from the start iota realised this and went the opposite way.

I am ordering some hats to use as promotional giveaways on my youtube channel and perhaps elsewhere.
I have to decide on the hat color between black, white or khaki.
What do you all think?

My vote = black
1910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Those that think Bitcoin will help developing Countries are in a fallacy on: June 20, 2018, 09:47:15 PM
Of course this could become a very complex argument.

However there can be no argument against decentralised trustless networks compared to centralised control that requires trust.

You want a level playing field for all then going decentralised and trustless is the way forward. BTC may not be perfect but give it time.

Mining is only part of the picture, there are many factors to consider.

1911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another bad news for Bitcoin on: June 20, 2018, 09:34:30 PM
lol, yeah this is such bad news. Imagine bitcoin now this has happened. Game over.

Why do people post this nonsense. How to demerit these imbeciles.
1912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tether is a scam - ruined bitcoin price on: June 20, 2018, 09:31:33 PM
UGH! I was about to get this coin sometimes when i have enough $$$, but thanks. maybe i will reconsider.

Yeah keep saving your fiat and when you have enough buy tether.......... seems like a rags to riches plan for sure.

thanks.

Community,
As many know, we have a listing on Yobit exchange.
We have not been advertising this as they have not updated their Bullion software in some time meaning Bullion cannot be withdrawn.
This has caused downward pressure on the price as people have to sell their Bullion for other coins there if they want to withdraw funds.
Also, the large volume of traders using their platform are essentially not able to trade Bullion.
With our new V 3.0 release, the new codebase syncs and functions much better.
We think this is our opportunity to make a push to get them to update and become a collaborative partner again.
But we need the communities help with this.

Please help by retweeting and liking:
https://twitter.com/CBX_Bullionaire/status/1007643674463875072
and
https://twitter.com/CryptoBullionX/status/1007657823176740864

Also,
If you trade at Yobit,
Please submit a ticket requesting them to update to the Vault 3.0

Thank you all for you help and support!

from the exchange YoBit is very difficult to achieve update wallets, they did not give any answer after about a time they will do it?

Thank you for trying. If we keep submitting tickets and retweeting as instructed above, I believe they will update.
But this will require the communities support.

Do devs not have direct contact with yobit owner?

I submitted ticket about it but tbh I expect the dev team will have a lot more sway

How to speak to the owner of yobit directly does he have an account on this board?
1917  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Jumps as Square Case gets a BitLicense from New York State on: June 20, 2018, 04:40:54 PM
I think the other thing that also pumped the price a little was the announcement that Tether can prove that every Tether are

fully backed by USD reserves. Source//: https://tether.to/fss-report-transparency-update/  This might have soothed some

investors nerves and this might spark a new round of investments in all Crypto currencies, including Bitcoin. The BitLicense

impact will take some time, before it is reflected in the price.  Wink

that is good news I was not aware of this.

well that's another huge cloud seemingly vanquished.
1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe the crypto market will never take off! on: June 20, 2018, 04:26:48 PM
I like posts like this.

Despair and doubt are required to flush out weak hands

This and scammy icos will ensure only the wise and strong will benefit here.

These peaks and dips are where all the money is made of course each one is engineered slightly differently else we would all spot them coming.

Nobody can pick the absolute top and bottom - just make sure you don't get sucked in to over hyped projects with no real substance and don't even remain in excellent projects once they are over bought.

I have no doubt many many more peaks and many more dips are coming - so just keep to good projects (even if they are not in the top 100 over hyped/manipulated shit) and make sure to exit to btc when they peak out and exit to fiat when btc peaks out. Then repeat all over again.

btc long term for safe bet with little risk for those that cant be bothered to spend hours weeding out the 99% junk here now.
1919  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 20, 2018, 04:05:16 PM
Jeez this coin has managed to drop to 112 on CMC  Angry Angry Angry

From 1000$ to 120$ in absolute value, but that is not the issue in a bear market, the issue is that this coin has gone from page 1 on CMC to page 2, and is going into oblivion fast.

Byteball is the leading coin with DAG algorithm and a great wallet and so on. It takes a lot of idiocy and bad marketing to run it into the ground like this.

Having such a small market cap is a major knee jerk, I am 100% sure it would be among the first 30 coins if it was listed in MBYTE instead of GBYTE...

MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH crappier coins are further up.  Embarrassed Cry

Yes going to mbyte would be a great help for all those noobs that pay attention to per token price and that is a huge % of noobs actually.

However there are other pressing issues.

1. the project is not very decentralised
2. the project is not fully distributed either after all of this time.

all of these need correcting before any rise will take place.
