2561  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best token for staking right now? on: August 06, 2021, 11:20:56 AM
Huh Huh Huh
Where is APY better. What have you heard about Near and whether it is worth staking this token

I would not only look at what project or coin promises you the highest APY. You should focus more on the use-case of that project, how big the trading volume of that coin is, on which exchange that coin is already listed on, how popular that coins is and also other metrics. An APY of 1000% means nothing if the coin will be worthless in a few weeks after you can unstake them again. So if i had to choose i would rather go for a 10% APY Ethereum staking pool than a 1000% APY staking pool of a totally unknown new project, because it is very likely that this new project will be gone in a few months again and if they offer APY's of 1000% then this will only speed up that process.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/axie-infinity/

There are reports that FC Bayern is trying to sign Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig. Sabitzer already announced some time ago that he does not want to extend his contract with Leipzig, which expires after this season, and that he wants to move to another club. For Leipzig, this would probably be the last chance to collect a transfer fee for Sabitzer, as he would be free of a contract next season. A possible transfer fee of € 18 million is mentioned, which in my opinion would be a good deal for Bayern, as Sabitzer's market value is at 42 million €. The only question is whether he would really be playing a lot at Bayern, as the competition for his position is very high.

2564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: High discount in presale on: August 05, 2021, 11:40:43 AM
Is 75% discount in presale of a project way too high? What do you think will happen to such project giving away too high discount for a presale? Will this cos huge dump or you've seen projects that survives after such massive discount

UPDATE

I meant 75% not $, that was a mistake and thanks for understanding

It is completely normal, that the private-sale round has slightly lower prices then the public sale round, that is the benefit the big investors and VC's get for funding the project very early on where there is still a lot of uncertainty if the project can deliver. Of course though a 75% discount compared to the public sale is just way to much in my opinion because that way it is inevitable that massive dump happens as soon as the tokens are tradeable. Usually private sale tokens are not released all at once but according to a vesting schedule but it is not unusual that, like 10% of the private sale is unlocked on day 1 of trading and the rest is unlocked over the next year or so. So i would never participate in a public sale where i know that the private round was 75% cheaper.

Incredibly, China already has an advance of 7 gold medals (32 medals) compared to the USA with only 25.
You can say that the US has more medals in total. But who likes to be first in second place?
Honestly, I think there were few bets that at this stage of the Olympic games, the US would not have first place in the gold medals.

Gold medal is more important than total medals, that's why they list it like that. Both countries performances are incredible, you can also count Japan to these. Although they have almost half of total medals they are superior in gold medals and earn this place as a host country. I don't think this list would change much, China probably finish at the top and USA and Japan will follow. Fourth place could change though, Great Britain, Australia and Russian Olympic Committee are too close to each other. Some countries performances are really disappointing, we can talk about that more detailed at the end of Olympics.

I just read that some newspapers and tv-stations in the United States like the New York Times, NBC and The Washington Post are using a different medal table now where the total count of all medals matters to determine the place in the medal table and not the number of gold medals. It's not a big surprise that the United States are on position 1 in their "own" tables. In my opinion that is a pretty ridiculous and shady move to adjust the numbers in a way that your nation is on top. The normal and traditional way to rank the nations on the medal table that is also used officially by the IOC was always to count which nation has the most gold medals. The US media in question were also criticised on the internet for using their own medal table.

PolkaDot - Next Ethereum

Hello Guyz, Polkadot Is One Of My Favourite Coin And I Am Damn Sure That In The Long Run Soon It Can Reach To Ethereum and Can Become Next Ethereum, But It doesn't mean it can Replace Ethereum. What You People Thing , Share Your Views In Comment Box , I want fo Know That How Many People Thinking Same Like Me And Am I Right Or Not?

Polkadot is definitely one of best and biggest projects with the most potential that came out in the last two years. The hype around polkadot was massive and it still is kind of but it slowed down a little, which is normal. The thing with polkadot is that the price already made a x100 or more if i remember correctly so you always need to consider this too before an investment. Does Polkadot still has some room to grow? Probably yes, but is there still room for another 100x... i am not really sure about that. Another point that i don't really like about the polkadot tokenomics are that the supply is unlimited, which is never a good thing if you want the price of an asset to increase.
2567  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 04, 2021, 12:44:38 PM
China continues to lead the medal tally and the difference from USA is quite far by almost 10 gold medals, it seems that this time it will be China who will take first place, the bettors who chose USA may have started making new bets on China, unfortunately there is no such bet available in the sportsbook where I bet
source.

Yeah this time it really looks like china will keep the lead in the medals table until the end as they are still 7 gold medals ahead of the US and we only have 4 more days to go. I think there are several reasons for that, the US was not so successful in the swimming competitions this time as australia was very successful there this time. It was very obvious there that the US does not have a swimming superstar like michael phelps anymore who won at least 5 gold medals in each of the last olympic games. Also some big favourites to win a gold medal did not perform as expected both Nyjah Huston and Hannah roberts did not manage to live up to everyone's expectations and did not manage to win their competitions.
2568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I guess personal wallets are a thing of the past now. on: August 04, 2021, 12:34:32 PM
I was just going through my appdata on my old comp (been in the shed for 4 years) and boy I used to run a lot of wallets on it.

And guess how many I have on my new comp = zero

So I started looking around the forum and can't really find a single wallet I can download onto my comp, add a few coins and start staking.

Amazing how fast it has all moved on in just a couple of years.

Nostalgic moment over now Smiley

Cheers
TT

I guess that mainly has to do with all the functionality that the introduction of DeFi has brought into the cryptospace. I mean nowadays you can almost put any coin into a staking contract or a liquidity pool to receive additional income and you don't need to have a wallet running for each coin that you own on your computer, but that also has it's downside of course. I mean the old saying "Not your keys, not your coins" is still true and if you have all of your coins on an exchange to stake them and to gain interest and that exchange gets hacked someday then you pretty much lost everything and you probably won't even get a compensation for it. So i would probably never let a big amount of money laying around on an exchange for a long time.

EJ Obiena is another one that will be participating in Pole Vault's Final.
Question: During the pole vaulting event, does the player need to outjump their opponent's jump height or they just need to complete a predetermined height to win the medal?

Or is it the latter because it appears that an elimination is taking place when Braz secured the bronze after Duplantis and Nielsen outperformed him?

As far as I know, it is only about which athlete jumps the greatest height. There are three attempts for each height. So if two athletes both jumped, for example, 6.0 metres, but athlete 1 jumped in the first attempt and athlete 2 only in the second or third attempt, athlete 1 would be ahead of athlete 2. The second athlete would then have to jump a greater height to be ahead of athlete one again. If both the height jumped and the number of attempts required for this are identical for 2 athletes, there is a jump off to determine the winner. However, it is also possible that both athletes waive the jump off, as was the case in the high jump, in which case there are two winners.

2570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to invest in nft art work? on: August 04, 2021, 10:27:31 AM
NFT market is booming recently, many people are investing more and more in NFT art work.
But I think the potential of these art work might be overvalued.
Take an example, I've just participated in an NFT art work value prediction on X Predict market.
Most people estimated the final bid value will be more than 150 busdt, but actually it reminds at 77 budst.
I think it's a sign that most nft art work is overvalued.
It's so easy to make nft art work now, the value of the work itself depends on it's art value after all, nft didn't really add anything on art itself.

NFT is really the number 1 trend withing cryptos right now, but that also means that a lot of people are trying to ride that hype wave and just want to make some quick bucks with that with putting only minimum effort into it. I only invested into some crypto projects that are about NFT trading and creation and so on but i did not look into buying NFT artwork yet. I got some NFT cards as an airdrop though but i never did anything with them so far so they are still in my wallet. If you want to buy NFT artwork i think you have 2 choices.. the first would be to buy a piece of a well known artist but that will probably be pretty expensive but of course the price for that piece could still increase heavily in the future or you buy art from unknown artists but there it is very much possible that those will become worthless in the future.

Did anybody watch that Romero guy? I caught a few Atalanta games in the last few years, guy never really stood out in any of them. From what I've seen - he's not really fast, not really strong, not really smart and not really good at passing - so to me really looks like an average player.

This is really a huge amount of money for a defender in this market, more than what United paid for Varane. If anybody did watch him for a prolonged period of time, care to write a few sentences about his playstyle?

I also never heard of Cristian Romero before which does not mean that much because i am not a Serie A expert but usually i know at least the popular and best performing players of the big european leagues. There are many reasons for the high transfer fee though if that number turns out to be true. He is still pretty young for a central back as he is only 23 years old, which means he already has some experience but still has potential to improve and if he does not experience any big injuries he can still play for 10 years at top level. The second reason is, that Tottenham is a english club of course and everyone knows how much money they get every year from that astronomical TV-contract. So english club always have to pay a bonus like in this case 55M€ for a player that has a market value of 35M€.
2572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum last forever? on: August 03, 2021, 01:54:47 PM
Ever since Ethereum was created in 2015, the whole crypto/Blockchain space improved in many ways that were never imagined. The ICO trend of 2017, and the current "De-Fi"/NFTs hype are all attributed to Ethereum's ever-rising popularity in the mainstream world. If it wasn't because of Ethereum, we wouldn't had a plethora of smart contract platforms to choose from. The crypto/Blockchain space would've been focused solely on finance, instead of serving as a hub for decentralized applications.

It's been 6 years since ETH came into inception, and now the smart contract platform is the second-largest blockchain network in the world. Some people compare ETH to BTC because of its focus on decentralization unlike any other cryptocurrency on the market today. As of this date, Ethereum has a large number of miners and nodes keeping the blockchain alive and healthy. If ETH continues to grow, it could live alongside Bitcoin for many years. But we all know that nothing lasts forever.

What's your opinion on this? Will Ethereum last forever? Or will it eventually die? Do you think it'll retain its place as the second-largest cryptocurrency by market cap for long? If not, why? Do competitors stand a chance against ETH? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

In my humble opinion i would say that Ethereum will be here "forever" and with forever i mean of course as long as cryptos exist and i also think that it will stay the number 2 cryptocurrency for a long time. I would even say that the odds of becoming number 1 in terms of marketcap are higher than the odds of becoming number 10. In the end Ethereum offers just the greatest variety of functionality and most projects are built upon ethereum or on some layer 2 solutions that are running on ethereum. In the end the binance smart chain is also not more than a blatant copy of Ethereum with some tweaks to it. If Ethereum manages to keep the transaction fees at an acceptable level then i see no coin that could push ETH away from the second place.

Granit Xhaka's Arsenal U-turn seem to be a shock to Arsenal fans.It was reported that Xhaka is very close to joining Jose Morinho's  side,Roma.According to reports,Morinho Identified Granit as a priority to boaster his squad next season, and a deal was reported to be very close after agreeing personal terms, but the deal is said to have collapsed after Roma failed to meet Arsenal's valuation of the player.
I was a bit disappointed when I heard Xhaxa rumoured transfer move to Roma however I am now pleased that the move wasn't sealed, Xhaha has been a very good midfielder in Arsenal and occasionally deployed as a left back he is an asset that shouldn't be allow to let go at this point in time when Arteta is trying to strengthen the squad, we all know him with accurate shots on goals and final passes which can change games recall his clever pass that resulted to his country equalizer in the just concluded Euro2020, I he has more to offer this season  athough he more aggressive and prone to bookings I believe he will change that attitude.

Xhaka is a really great player but it is kinda weird to see him play at arsenal and then compare that to his performances in the national team. During the EURO 2020 he was one of the best players of the tournament for me and he was one of the main factors why switzerland managed to beat france in the round of the last 16. When he plays for arsenal though he seems like a completely different player most of the time to me. It seems that even he appears to be such a tough players that he is also very sensitive and needs to feel appreciated and valued and that seems to be the case in the swiss national squad but not at arsenal. I hope that he and arteta find a way around that so he can show some great performances at arsenal too.
2574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to understand that you are making a mistake? on: August 03, 2021, 11:02:56 AM
Have you ever had a situation when you realized that you were making a mistake, but you just keep on doing it. For example, buying some kind of hype shit coin about which you are absolutely sure that in the end it will become garbage, but in the short term there are chances to get a good profit, but in the end everything turns out the other way around.

Share your stories.

I also made such a stupid mistake a few weeks ago but i did not buy some sh*t coin i sold one. Back in 2017 i was part of a signature campaign for a long time that gave me a lot of coins from a certain project. During the bullrun in 2018 they were worth more than 100k $ but of course i did not sell back then which was my first mistake. Then i hodled the coins until april or may this year meanwhile the price went down like 99%. Then i needed some stable coins for a pre-sale that i wanted to join and i thought about those coins. I knew that i shouldn't have sold them back then but i was like "they won't go higher again anyway" and i sold all my coins for 3k$. Then only a few weeks after that the price of the coins made a x10 which means i could have made 30k instead of 3k with them.
So i hodled them for a few years but then sold them only 2 weeks to early  Undecided

Against my own better judgment, started a long 5-leg acca today and put Brazil on my ticket. Mexico have actually been playing really well, the type of football I like, but I think Brazil's just oozing with too much talent to ignore. 17 mins now, and much of it niggly fouls and no shots on goal, so am slightly disappointed so far. Afternoon game should be entertaining with the hosts getting so far but finally meeting the best team they've had so far in Spain!

Game is in the second half now and still no goals so far, at least the second half did not half any ugly and hidden fouls as of now. The game was really not nice to watch during the first half. The game is still pretty tough, and the referee plays a big part in that, as he let go through a lot of minor fouls.  So far i don't see a big advantage for one of the both teams as the game is completely open and both teams are neutralising each other pretty much. The brazilian team has definitely the better individual players but so far the mexican team knows to deal with that very well and also the mexican defense does a great job so far and is looking very solid.
2576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in cryptocurrencies. on: August 03, 2021, 08:54:12 AM
Some say cryptocurrency is a low risk investment but high return and also does this digital currency have a fundamental value so that it is feasible for investment?
What do you think ?

I would say that crypto is a high risk investment but with the possibility for a really high return, i strongly disagree with the low risk statement. If you compare it to investments into traditional stocks or other financial products i would say that even an investment into bitcoin has a high risk, but of course also a higher potential return if everything goes well. The good thing about crypto is that you have so many options to choose from. You can only invest into Bitcoin to minimalise the risk as much as possible and still have the chance for a x2 or even a x5 if you hold long enough, or you invest into altcoins and depending on which altcoins you choose you can either go for very high risk with new projects but also a chance fora x100 of your investment or you choose older and established altcoins like ETH or BNB for a lower risk again.
2577  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 02, 2021, 11:42:04 AM
But I'm amazed that lots of countries has at least 1 medal, and not all medals are won by 20-30 countries, while others "just participate". Glad that a lot countries has their Olympic heroes this time.

Btw Australia is looking good that time. They were on top11 in Rio, now they are top4. They must be checked for doping. Just kidding Cheesy Happy for them.

That may be because the sports infrastructure is improving in other countries. One or two decades ago, a handful of developed countries used to dominate the medals table. That has changed now. Developing nations such as Brazil, Kosovo, Ecuador and Cuba are already in the medals table. It was China which first showed that Olympics is not a monopoly of the developed nations. And look where they are right now. Only the former-USSR group of nations have gone down during the last few years, in terms of medal winning capability.

The fact that China has always been at the top of the medal table during the last 3 Olympics is, in my view, clearly due to the fact that they themselves hosted the 2008 Olympic Games. At the latest when it was announced in July 2001 that the 2008 Olympic Games would take place in Beijing, huge efforts were made in China to build up or improve an infrastructure for every Olympic sport (also for the small, not so popular ones). Logically, China is still benefiting from these efforts today and will continue to do so in the future. China is first in the medal table because they are very successful especially in the "smaller" sports such as shooting.

2579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH adoption lately is high on: August 02, 2021, 10:56:50 AM
It seems like Ethereum will reach a new ATH the second time again, hours back I read news that whales are investing 500million dollars on ETH which is a good plan that they are preparing for PoS algorithm rewards, the adoption rate looks way higher than BTc or am I wrong?

The Ethereum blockchain has always been the number one platform in terms of adoption and tokens that are created on it, i guess that was never in doubt. Only during the last bullrun some flaws of the Ethereum blockcahin became apparent when the gas prices were extremely high for a long time and uniswap was almost unusable because of that. If you have to pay 150$ of transaction fees for a swap on uniswap that only has a value of 100$ then you know that something is really off here. During that time the binance smart chain became pretty popular among new projects for obvious reasons as the fees there were extremely low. With the PoS transition Ethereum should also solve the problem with the high fees and then it is a no brainer for me that ETH will stay the number 1 network in terms of adoption.

Well , so far I'm right. We have a great race and not a boring one.

I'm watching the race and I must stay that Lewis is looking for a great comeback at he's currently in P5. Max car is simply damaged and can no longer keep up the pace with the rest of the cars so if he won't catch points , they might retire the car for prevent further damage.

I still hope for a 2nd period of rain as the radar is showing big rain just between Budapest and Hungaroring.

Sadly there was not another rain coming down. Hamilton or hamiltons crew made a clear mistake by not letting him change the tyres before the restart but i would still say that he is the second biggest winner of this weekend next to ocon of course. Hamilton managed to reach the podium again with rank 3 and will get 15 points for that. He now made 40 points in the last 2 races which are 39 more than verstappen and, at least in my opinion, didn't do anything wrong in those two races he was jsut massively unlucky.. especially today. I just hope that the championship will not be decided by those last two races because that would be a real shame. Vettel on position 2 makes me happy at least.  Smiley
