its 10 cents.
big whoop.

lol; this 10c change and small wall size reduction did cause a bit of panic selling... ok, well, a bunch of small fish panic selling.. for a total of something around 1k.

So far, the wall still holds..

Notice though, not a single bid has been put in front of it... (A few bot bids have, but nothing >0.0X)
2582  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: September 14, 2013, 03:55:17 AM
Some movement with the 140 wall..

Well, 140 wall is gone. 900 moved to 140.10 [Placing it ahead of... 12 BTC in bids?] The remainder.. ? market order incoming?
2583  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: September 13, 2013, 06:42:59 PM
their some action going on!

the 140 wall has forced some bids to pill up in front of it, this made people jumpy and new walls where spotted soaking up bits in the 142-143$ range

What? Lol.

Do you mean an bid wall appeared and it was sold into? I see a ~800 volume a few mins ago. Looked like a market buy to me but are you saying it was not?

maybe it started off as a market buy, but i saw a wall at 142.5ish get sold into.

someone was clearly in a hurry to get coins.

someone else appears to be in hurry to unload coins.

and the saga continues!

That makes more sense. I thought when I saw 800 coin buy not take the price over 143, it didnt make sense. I'd imagine something like 400 bought -> 400 wall.

2585  Economy / Speculation / Re: [poll] The 140 wall on: September 13, 2013, 05:26:54 PM
Its been tested and destroyed quite a few times already, only to be rebuillt some time in the near future [Seconds, hours, days]

I imagine it will be destroyed again. But due to so many coins being "gone", this might be the last time that happens. Then its down to a panic buy or sale to finally set the trend.
2586  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tired of 140$ on: September 13, 2013, 03:51:15 PM
No whale buy yet, they probably wait for a small downward correction.
Soon we may find out if the 140$ buy wall holds.

For like the 5th time  Cheesy
2587  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tired of 140$ on: September 13, 2013, 03:42:03 PM

TBH your graph makes it look a lot like final capitulation is right around the corner.

2588  Economy / Speculation / Re: Peak/Reversal Watch on: September 13, 2013, 03:40:12 PM
Here is a little something I have been experimenting with. The one week call.

I basically use the same assumptions that I am using for the reversal projection, except that in the reporting I am picking off samples from a specific time target. I am specifically targeting the VWA one week out. And with that, here's a test call:

Friday, September 20, 2013   $130.27

I approve of this prediction(projection)!
2589  Economy / Speculation / Re: New fun competition - Traders versus Buy-Holders - post your results here on: September 13, 2013, 03:36:20 PM
Actual:
Bought Aug 27; up 10.7%

With buy&hold; up 12.7%

Optimal; up 21.1%

Reason for discrepancy? Made some small daytrading BTC & USD profits in these 2 weeks, but sold at $128.74. Missed chance to re-buy at $124 & $128. Had I not sold at 128.74, and instead sold at what I'm considering the current price ($142), up 21.1%.

Falkvinge wants bitcoin to become what he thinks bitcoin was made for.

The most importan claim he makes is that more than 90 percent of the bitcoin-prize is made of speculation. Even if he's wrong and it are 80 or 70 or 60 percent - this is more unnatural and insustaineble than fiat has been in its worst days.

I also think bitcoin is overvalued, but the guy seems a bit delusional. Probably sold at $65. Lol.

2500 Market buy followed by a 2500 market buy [both exactly 2500] with its unfilled bids set on 145.

Er, I suppose its easier to say.. 5k order to 145, 3.3k filled; 1.7k as bid.
It got fully sold into, and now another 2k appeared

Yup. Actually it looks like exactly 2500 again. So, someone just bought 7500 coins.

Nothing about the price, up or down, will surprise me in the next week. Could get really nutty when/if ask sum goes below 40k.

Looks like its time for $150 to fall.

Gox missing funds is bullish. Expect panic buys from those who still have fiat/"credit" in their account.

Perhaps the whale trades these past few weeks were the panic buys? Wouldn't surprise me if most of the large trades are based on info not available to the public.

Yup. I'm in fiat and  won't buy now; I'll wait for the nose   dive... Although it might be a 90% drop from $1000

Aren't you afraid of holding the fiat bag when gox finally implodes?  There won't be anyone willing to sell their BTC for goxbux once the news is official.

It does not make sense that there will be a nosedive on gox - if - they end up failing. Then news will get worse and worse and price will go up due to people wanting out and less and less coins offered. One day trading will be halted abruptly and liquidation of company started.

Other exchanges will disconnect more and more from mtgox price as they have different supply and demand realities. They will start taking the lead in price swings, as bitstamp recently showed already. A collapsing price at bitstamp may be followed by gox but to a much lesser extent as gox buyers will be willing to pay 50% over actual value, as they correctly calculate they will lose likely more if gox fails.

^^This

How long until Gox halts withdrawal of coins ?

I dont imagine gox failing. They make tons of money in fees. Although, I suppose, it is possible. If Gox does implode, then most coins should have been sold on other exchanges, causing a dive elsewhere. Those on Gox of course, well, we're fucked :/

With quickly rising difficulty and diminishing mining profitability, capitals will redirect to the exchange, a rally is about to start Cool

Someone gets the coins no matter what. Declining mining profitability ->  insignificant players shut down or hold. Big players sell most ASAP to reduce risk

Check this out (Gox's answer to Coinlab's suit - TL;DR: they are saying they are short of an additional $5M, NOT including Dwolla and DHS):

Oh, so this is completely separate from dwolla, huh. $5m here $3m dwolla $14m bids lol

http://numismatics.pwnz.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/MtGox-Answer.pdf

Quote
Defendants are informed and believe that in March and April, 2013 MtGox customers, at the
suggestion of CoinLab, deposited $12,788,701.08 into one or more CoinLab bank accounts;
CoinLab then caused the amount of such funds to be credited to such customers' MtGox
accounts but CoinLab did not transfer the actual funds into the MtGox bank account. As a
result, such customers' MtGox account reflected a higher amount of currency funds available
to such customers than were actually in the MtGox bank account. In April, 2013, and upon
the demand of MtGox, CoinLab transferred a portion of those amounts, $ 7,473,490.29, to the
MtGox bank account, leaving a balance of approximately $ 5,315,210.79 to be transferred to
the MtGox account and which is being wrongfully held by CoinLab.

I read this as VERY BAD news. "Overwhelming" the biggest bank in Japan my ass... The +$14M on Gox's order book, plus whatever is "dormant" or in the withdrawal queue, and therefore all our Gox balances..... Are backed only by thin air.

Let me get this straight. Mt.Gox was stiffed $5 million by coinlab and another $5 million by the US gov.. That's over $10 million of missing funds on Mt.Gox.
Oh, so this is completely separate from dwolla, huh. $5m here $3m dwolla $14m bids lol

Slight push up to 155 or so, then stagnation and crash.
2599  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: September 12, 2013, 09:26:24 PM
When is the last time we saw a real ask wall? Lol. Big holders can want more. But they can't hold the price down without manipulation (which there currently is none of).

There isn't one whale. If coins were seen as undervalued by a whale, they will buy. Else, wait for better price. And if they dint take the opportunity? Another whale will.

Manipulating the price up is  magnitudes easier than the  opposite.

ooh ... whale showing a fin again  Cheesy

When did this obsession with the Whale God start? It's like, any time anything happens it's "because whale!" Some of you sound like you'd sacrifice children on an alter of fiat money if someone told you it would make the Whale Gods happy.

We don't need no stinkin' whales.

It's because during this rally thats how it works

whale buys -> price oscilates around 2-3 USD from end of whale buy until whale sells or whale buys.

Exactly. Whales decide the price. If it were  down to the average Joe, take a guess where we'd be.

Hint: a lot lot lower
