We are in a downtrend. The question is, how long will it last?
I can say with a fair degree of certainty that however long it lasts, we won't go below $0. Very reassuring, thank you.

Gox just admitted insolvency...
You are not a Fudster normally? I guess I over reacted to the gox Dev admitting coins were stolen via transaction malleability. Maybe it's not that bad? I didn't have a chance to sell my coins so i hope they are solvent..

fucking gox, let me go to sleep!!!! make up your damn mind, up or down?!

|

Any exchange can fake transactions and that's the reason trade system should be open source or at least have a transparent trade auditing engine...
Are you referring to bitstamps wall? Nothing about it seems fake.

I more often end up calling the bottom within 5%, and then proceed to panic sell as soon as I acquire them.. I definitely didnt buy at 155 on Gox and sell at $170. Nooo way, didnt do that.

ok just to sum up with what I said yesterday but some members trashed me really hared : Good morning there, I didn't sleep till 04:00 Europe time (GMT+1). and just woke up, watching Bitstamp now,so the price went up to 646 !!...how do we translate this?
something worth mentioning is that the MACD is still negative: the 12 period AMA is above the 26 period AMA, there will be a cross over in few hours and the price may drop.
only now it seems that a reversal is possible, the next drop will decide if we continue going down , or if there will be a rally up, of course the Gox situation will complicate things a little bit..
Totally predicted that 10k ask wall, huh?

Something interesting is happening at the moment I think. Gox remove their tweets, relocate their office and that link few pages back saying "light at the end of the tunnel for gox customers". Maybe the exchange really is being sold to some more competent people? We'll see, we'll see.
If this is the case.... in my personal estimation that would be the best outcome of this entire debacle (assuming it really is taken over by competent people). You don't get the bad press of a major exchange completely failing, you get Karples and his cronies out of the picture, and hopefully true market forces can restore order to this circus. If the exchange becomes is compentent, solvent and transparent, would be a great thing for everyone. seems like wishfull thinking but hey, they made a site for it and everything, http://mtgoxtakeover.com/ not sure if this is some sort of elaborate scam tho... yeah because nothing bitcoin ever is a scam, or ever goes wrong.
No, I just mean that price wont happen. You'll never see single digits, at least not in relation to this Gox solvency ordeal.

Stamp gonna blow down...
Oh gox, I have no idea what to do with my money in there....
Either some really good news or some really bad news is on the horizon...

imo nows the time to get money into gox. cheap coins coming
yes. It's a pretty smart idea. You can buy lots of mtgox BTC and then watch in awe as they turn into 0.000000000000000 My math teacher told me the more zeros in a number the bigger it is, so this is good news. Wont happen buddy.

Thousands of BTC of bids piling up on Gox, suddenly.
Thinking theyre (MTGox) getting bought.
Stamp dropping
where? at 100$ piece? Of course, but its still a big deal. About 2k ~200, 400k. Thats something.

On a semi-intersting note, the BitStamp bit sum has dropped 0.25m in the last hour, after the dumping stopped, and when the buying began.
So some of these buyers are pulling bids to buy in, it seems to me.

Today Sunday Feb/23, the BTC trade volume outside China (excluding MtGOX) was ~53 kBTC, practically the same as yesterday.
On the other hand, the trade volume in China was ~338 kBTC, 20% higher than yesterday's. OKCoin grew more than Huobi.
As a consequence, the Chinese shre of the total volume in all the exchanges (excluding MtGOX) was 86%, up from yesterday's 83%.
Bitstamp was still the leader outside China (~21 kBTC), followed by Bitfinex (~16) and BTC-e (~14)
Interesting. I still dont believe China volume can be fairly compared to "other" volume, though.
