2581  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for Blockchain developer - new/experience/work for coin on: September 05, 2020, 11:53:37 AM
This is a experimental project, so looking for developers who are open to make something unique. We have acquired one dev so far. We could use one more, its a simple idea. I am glad to discuss the idea privately.

Whatever your projects are, make sure that you are willing to tell publicly that you have funds and willing to have an escrow for the success of your project, that's what Vod is talking about. Unless, you are a liar whom can't pay developers but only want their services. Also, better include your project details in here, no one would dare steal it as long as you posted it first before they claim it. And posting it here would even help you have more ideas from other users. You shouldn't just focus on such developers, but also external opinions of many.
2582  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency trading platform on: September 05, 2020, 10:37:59 AM

Cryptocurrency trading is the most popular investment method in the current market. There are many trading platforms for crypto trading. Such as Binance, Kucoin, Bittrex, Poloniex etc. Among them I trade Binance trading platform, Binance is currently one of the best centralized trading platforms for cryptocurrency trading,
For example, the centralized trading platform is Binance, Kucoin
And decentralized trading platforms are Nash, Ether Delta, Binance DEX, Idex
Now I want to know which decentralized trading platform is better than Cryptocurrency trading platform or decentralized trading platform, which means which centralized and decentralized trading platform can be more secure.

Lol I thought I was drunk after reading your whole paragrahp haha. But if I'm right, that your question is which platform is secured - ""is it centralized or decentralized?"". Then the answer is simple, it depends on the platform itself. All of the platform you've mentioned are pretty much legit as they've gained huge respect and reputation from a lot of traders and its clients. But in centralized or decentralized aspect, well a platform that wasn't controlled is pretty much safer. Would you entrust your money on a trading platform which that trades can be manipulated by the platform itself?
2583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Problem Gambling in the wake of covid-19 on: September 05, 2020, 06:33:25 AM

Quote
If your total score is 8 or higher, you may be a problem gambler.

Is the score of 8 a bit too low? I've scored higher than 8 but I haven't felt anything problematic recently. But somehow it was right, that pandemic isolation and sadness do offers us an eagerness to be satisfied by the means of gambling just to fulfill such void we felt recently. But this isn't only because of the COVID19 per se and the quarantine, but some or even most of us have their job lost for the meantime and had to face so many leisure time alone with pure silence that somehow deep inside us made us feel to miss the loud noise of the streets and the people we'd love to see. Hence, it wasn't only COVID, but it's a wake of so many various reasons that made us gamble more.
2584  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Expose] Exbonds.com hype project on: September 05, 2020, 04:36:27 AM
Description:
This is another project offering two plans 4% daily for 50 days and 5% daily for 50 days profits to the victims. Also, they promise some more profits to people who invite their friends into this project.

Reference Link:
https://exbonds.com/

Just another too much good to be true scam. I don't know how people still getting scammed by this especially as there are no such thing as easy money and passive profits online. I just don't know how they could think of investing in it despite the fact that even a single person that could world hard for 8hrs couldn't gain such a tremendous return like on the exbonds lol. Btw, nice catch. I guess this kind of scam doesn't even have an end.
2585  Other / Meta / Re: Some URL tag changes that has to be made on: September 05, 2020, 03:37:54 AM
I think this have been discussed long ago. People should be aware of clicking any links anywhere, not even this place only. Also, I don't see a good solution for this. How can forum prevent this?

Yeah it was discussed here before many times like this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224820.0

Thanks for the answer. But what I'm trying to say here is that once that reports such as bitcointalk post links, medium article links, and even web-archive links (that are always common and such links seemed to be safe whenever the user is explicitly posted the URL), can have a different link inside - which mobile users can be affected.

Yes, TryNinja and even your idea was right. But if I were to use the [nobbc][/nobbc] tags, then I could easily say that - this bitcointalk profile url is a scammer or anything, admittedly that most of us trust once the links are from bitcointalk, medium, or any known secured websites, we haven't bothered been thinking of where it really redirect. And how about those mobile phone users or any device that doesn't have a hover in their browsers?

All I'm trying to say here is that [nobbc][/nobbc] tags can be used on such hideous activities, and we should be more careful now. Guess the only right and possible thing is to report, but not all in the forum are knowledgeable and the forum are continuously having new users with no knowledge at all.

I hope ya'll get my point lol

I'll lock the thread once the argument is established.
2586  Economy / Reputation / Re: Give this user an attention on: September 04, 2020, 02:16:05 PM
I've been seeing this guy ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=341733 )  for quite long time making unjustifiable threads and topics mostly about China/Chinese. He deliberately done this to show hate in China  - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5272938.0- He's posting unsupported claims and just now He dare @suchmoon to prove his identity not to be a Chinese.

Can someone in upper level give this guy the piece of cake that he's been wanting?

You should've just ignored the users. It is a common disease of those whom spent a lot of time in social media yet having a hard time so socialize in person nor be open in this vast world. I don't know why he's so mad on certain races and accuse people with no further evidences of his claims. He's just abusing the trust system as he reports all with no references and even legal proofs. Sad for him that he had such disease to hate people and have a life filled with hate and burden against them.

Soon, the forum must stop such events and users that are so racist and discriminating other people's opinion and beliefs.
2587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about DIA data ? on: September 04, 2020, 01:33:15 PM
I see that lot of people on this forum recommend investing in DIA technology. What is your opinion on this project and why would you or wouldn't invest in this project ? Thanks for all information, looking to grab some while price is still low.

DIA (Decentralised Information Asset) seems a bit promising. I've looked up on their website, their purpose, their platform, and their system, and I think or I predict that it will soon be a good and well-known DeFi project. Many might still be doubtful if they should invest in it, but with its current system being unique and legitimate (open-source), then there's no doubt it's price will increase. I'm sure I'll be investing some on it soon.

2589  Other / Meta / Some URL tag changes that has to be made on: September 04, 2020, 12:44:34 PM
UPDATE:
I've just tried using the [nobbc][/nobbc] tags inside the someurl 2 and it would simply link some fake website.

I've just noticed (so late) that you can phish someone with a simple URL tag.

if you would use the tags
[url=<<someurl 1>>]<<someurl 2>>[/url]

you can insert some phishing links in the someurl 1 and put a different link in the someurl 2. Here's a sample:

If I were the phisher:
Guys is this guy should be reported?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5268229.msg54979042#msg54979042

By clicking the link that seems to just a simple bitcoin talk post, you'll be redirected to facebook page. In which, if some wouldn't be bothered clicking it, users clicked it would be hacked instantly and the hacker would just get his information. And we all trust bitcointalk related links, but I just wanted to open this up as well to be a reminder for everyone that any links can be deceiving, I can even say that this medium.com article or any articles is the link of my thread yet it would direct you to a phishing website.

I hope that the URL tags should only accept context that aren't URLs I think the forum must now don't include the [nobbc][/nobbc] tags. If not and impossible to be implemented, guess every users must be warned with such possible attack.

My bad it isn't possible lol locking the thread

2590  Other / Meta / Re: How do you encrypt bitcointalk messages? on: September 04, 2020, 11:50:35 AM

I usually send PMs especially if I would to ask any personal nor sensitive messages through telegram. I haven't tried using encryption methods like the others have commented, but telegram, for me, is enough of the safety. And with bitcointalk PMs, once a user tried to contact you  and you think the conversation would take longer and must be secured, better take it on Telegram. But if you would simply tell them a long single message that contain some sensitive information but you're choice is PM, then better follow other's suggestion.
2591  Economy / Services / Re: Roobet.com | Art Contest - $5000 Prizepool up for grabs! Ends August 31st on: September 04, 2020, 07:16:27 AM
Tell me the name you participated with and I will tell you how many points you scored.
Can you post the full list? I'm curious Cheesy

I'm also curious with my entry's score. Knowing it would make me do more in the aspect/category I fail to gain a perfect score, if ever there would be another contest to be made by the Roobet team (which we all hope so). But I think they only had points with what they think are good in making the top 5 as they based purely by the team's taste in the arts submitted, yet I think mine doesn't have any scores lol

I hope the September Art Contest would have lesser prize for 1st winner but would have consolation prices.
2592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I need your advice on: September 04, 2020, 06:00:04 AM
Been seeing great men in here, some legendary and some hero members, some with high ranks. I love to aim high. I'm just making my way into the world of Cryptocurrency and I need the advice of each of you all. So my way into it can be very okay. Thanks in advance.

What is your purpose to be exact? Those coins would be useless unless you have a knowledge in background of financial literacy, risk management, blockchain technology, etc. There are many factors to consider before holding a coin nor investing in one, but if you would just asking "what to use", then it would depend. If you want a long term investment, then TRX, XRP, and LTC is good (while their price is low). If you want a short term trading, anything can be good as long as you are a good trader. But if you would wanna ask what system is good, then XRP is nice with its low fees and fast trasnsactions.
2593  Other / Meta / Re: Should "Bitcoin Meetups" have child boards? on: September 03, 2020, 05:27:48 AM
If I want to post about a bitcoin meetup in my area, or look at bitcoin meetups close or relevant to me, it'd be difficult to find them.

Major Countries could each have their own Subforum

And the US could either be divided into regions, or states.

Everything not included (countries not listed), could be in a separate category and the rules could be updated to allow only major and well organized events to be posted both in the subforum and the main forum (directing to the subforum).

I don't know how difficult it would be to moderate, there's probably a good reason it's not already that way. I'd like it if the section were actually usable though.

Such idea is mostly dumped and/or cliche. Even theymos wouldn't be bothered making another local board for meet-ups alone as Local Boards itself can be a medium. If ever you are pertaining to countries within the US, it can be done alone in the Bitcoin Meetups alone. Another way is to look for either a telegram group or a discord server that the users near you are joining.

And Little Mouse is right, there are no usual activities in that board to have an update for a child board.
2594  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING]: the profile "cocoguard" is a scammer on: September 02, 2020, 11:16:09 AM
chipmixer is a SCAM

Calling all the participants of Chipmixer signature campaign to get rid of this childish act of some random anonymous newbie which only had posted scam accusations and warning with no further and valid evidences, and subjectively targeted cocoguard upon his first accusation.

I don't side with cocoguard nor with anyone at all. This topic and argument must not been taken in a thread but rather preferably in a personal message approach. All the cocoguard's arguments were much valid and than the OP. If ever this goes further, I would personally request to flag whom really here is the scammer (in which it seemed that the accuser is the scammer rofl).

@suchmoon, being part of the chipmixer and a good scam hunter, what's your point onto this?

2596  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about the idea of decentralized stablecoin on: September 02, 2020, 08:17:42 AM

Relatively fixed value.

Would it be possible if you can't handle nor manipulate it's price on the market and its system per se being centralized? AFAIK, it's impossible. Not unless it wouldn't have to undergo fork, or just simply backed with other currencies. Take Digital Gold (GOLD)[1] as an example - it is a stablecoin while being decentralized as well - yet backed with the price of a gram of gold as well. But still, from time to time, it's price fluctuates, but not that high and not that low.

2597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Fees on: September 02, 2020, 07:10:20 AM
The fees to send ETH are minimum $5 in fees ... is it going to change back to "normal"?
Who dictates how much fees are charged?
If ETH is claimed to be decentralized where are those high fees coming from if not from a centralized party?!

It will go back to normal lol. It's the gas that are costly in ETH in which was affected due to the spike and fork of Sushiswap. Better read:

Transaction fees on the Ethereum network have recently reached a new hourly record. According to Glassnode, an on-chain analytics firm, miners on the network earned over $500,000 in just one hour today as Ether (ETH) rallied.

Currently sitting at its 2020 high of $486, Ether rallied 10% today. The spike in network activity is thought to be related to the launch of Sushiswap, a fork of Uniswap that has hit $1 billion in total value locked in less than 24 hours.

The news may sound good for Ether miners whose revenue is increased by higher fees and more transactions. In fact, Ethereum’s network hash rate has been growing consistently, having reached its 20-month high recently, despite the recent controversy regarding a proposal that aims to reduce block rewards by 75%.

Therefore, never panic. ETH was never centralized. It's just that it was the 2nd most powerful and used crypto system in many projects.

NOTE: This should be in Altcoin Discussion board, better move this.

2599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Crypto be more valuable than gold? on: August 29, 2020, 10:01:05 PM
I have thought that one key advantage crypto (bitcoin, litecoin, Dash, monero etc.) has over gold is that its supply level is fixed and transparent, but can this or features make crypto more valuable than gold?

If the economy in the future would be the same as on the movie Blade Runner 2047 and other eutopic movies, then I guess crypto would be really valuable more than gold. But this argument keeps popping up from time to time and the answer is pretty much the same. Both crypto and gold have their different system, use, and purpose, in which the crypto has more advantage than the gold. If price and stability would be the meaning of being valuable, then gold is far ahead from the crypto.
2600  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have shared about bitcoin on my class on: August 29, 2020, 09:29:54 PM
I'm having an MBA degree on Marketing. Due to COVID19, we are having classes online. However, we had a term paper submission and presentation on "Deceptive Advertising". I have selected the freebitco advertisement and had presented their Bait and Switch method to attract newbies to have click on their site.
The advertisement is- "Win $200 bitcoin per hour" which I think totally a deceptive advertising. Through this, I was able to give a little hints about bitcoin among my fellow mates and my teacher. I felt lucky when teacher asked me what bitcoin is actually after my presentation, I gave a short answer to them.
This was really great achievement of me, it may not be to you. I feel lucky if I get a chance to talk about bitcoin among my country men.

So basically you've thought them that most of crypto related activities and marketing strategies are often deceptive? Cheesy lol. But you're right, some platform tends to have a ridiculous offer in which some successfully pulled things off yet some are tagged as scams with such deceptive advertising.

What else have you thought them? I hope you've only told them what is the basics of Bitcoin and blockchain, or crypto in general, and not this forum. Some people might be doubtful most likely on how to earn in here and that's an issue we keep dealing and dealing in the Beginners and Help board.

And I've also remembered that some on my collegiate friends had used crypto as their research if our country or the local university is aware with such technology or not. AFAIK, lecturing others is the best feeling especially if you would share an innovative knowledge like the crypto and Bitcoin per se (to also prevent them with the false ideology that crypto is a scam)
