261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Have you heard anything of Giftz? I just found this article about them on: December 15, 2017, 08:22:50 AM
https://www.coinstaker.com/giftz-forms-alliance-blockv-bring-augmented-reality-loyalty-based-blockchain-program/

Seems like a pretty solid idea, but does anyone know anything more about it?

Solid idea, maybe for online shopping, but I am skeptical it could work in everyday life, the article makes the comparison with Starbucks, fair enough but how are you going to convince everyday life merchants to give away those tokens.
This would work in a perfect world... I think the idea sounds great but maybe it is too good too soon? It could work in year 2025 when blockchain technology has became adopted and understood by all? Hard to tell. But thanks for sharing, did not know about this project Smiley
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: KMD/BTC - Strong Support Level - BUY now PROFITS soon on: December 15, 2017, 08:10:33 AM
Fork from Zcash if I am not mistaken. Not a bad project at all on paper.
When do they start running coins on their platform? Waiting for this...

263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥🔥 The Ultimate List of Places that Accept Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies 🔥🔥 on: December 14, 2017, 11:18:51 AM
Several such services already exist on the web.
For example this one > http://spendbitcoins.com

264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brokerage company will allow traders to bet against Bitcoin on: December 14, 2017, 10:56:52 AM
Very good news.
Of course you'll have to be very brave to bet against Bitcoin in the short term (middle term) but good news to give this option. After all this is possible in the stocks market too. This will make things more balanced, and we will see if the big mouths we hear around will dare to back their words with action?
265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens with blockchain fees? on: December 14, 2017, 09:45:40 AM
I have 0.0134BTC 223$ BTC in my wallet but i am only able to send only 0.0042364BTC 70$ what the f*ck is happening?

asking for 0.00798994 BTC (132.02 USD) Fee.. lol
This is an obvious mistake, I never heard of anyone paying 132 USD fee to make a transaction?
What is your wallet?
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Catalan coin on: December 13, 2017, 08:51:42 AM
Is it related to Catalonia independence?
If so, that would be huge since Catalonia is seriously planning to launch a "national cryptocurrency". Last time I heard about it was a month ago and I don't think the coin is launched yet.
If I am off topic then I apologize.
267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How many confirmations do I need to know LTC is in my wallet? on: December 13, 2017, 08:45:47 AM
I would guess 24?
One block is generated 4 times faster than Bitcoin (6 transactions). That is just a guess though.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The surge in the value of Litecoin on: December 13, 2017, 08:40:33 AM
As long as Bitcoin transactions get more and more expensive, more and more people will get into altcoins. Litecoin has proved to be a reliable one, it has been on the market for a long time now, and so benefits from its reputation which makes buyers feel safe about their investment.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tough trading question on: December 13, 2017, 08:36:35 AM
Did you get your money back + small profit from the coin bought on the first exchange? Or did I misunderstand?
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I know a Good ICO? any tools? on: December 12, 2017, 06:58:50 AM
Hi akashark. First of all, you need passionate people behind the project who know what they are doing, with obviously experience in the field.
A good example, you can check The Abyss project here > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2526681
When you know online gaming is at its very peak right now, the good number of specialists behind the project is a very good sign that we might see a very big success by this team.
Just don't be too greedy too quickly and wait for the projects to take form.
271  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Stabilizing At $20K on: December 12, 2017, 06:50:59 AM
If bitcoin price gets stabilized, then most of the investors would lose interest as most of the new investors just buy bitcoins to get quick profits. They totally differ from the early investors of 2011 who just bought bitcoins having trust in it and to use it for transaction purposes.

Exactly, volatility is the factor which up-brings Bitcoin to life and once that goes away many investors will lose their faith in it. Bitcoin may get stabilized which can lower the transaction fees but it will rush again either up or down both have equal chances. Bitcoin's price is subject to many factors so we can't determine upon only one thing to stabilize it. Bitcoin's turbulence is here to stay, how long ? it is hard to suspect. Bitcoin Futures might have the possibility of calming the prize, but nothings definite in that either.

If it can help the transaction fees it would be great.
Then it can lose its attractiveness to some investors when we get a more stable price, but also attract other kinds of investors, the ones who usually buy stocks, trade on stocks, are happy with a 10% profit over a period of six months (the "reasonable" investors), I mean especially when we know banks in US will probably now offer Bitcoin to their customers, that means more "average Joe" among the holders.

I think $20K is too soon to stabilize. Honestly, I wasn't thinking that we wouldn't see $15K in 2017, now I'm thinking maybe $25K might be possible within this year. I'm thinking it's too early to talk about stabilization before $50K levels.

Dunno about 20k.

Like 3 weeks ago nobody would believe, that BTC could cross 10k before Christmas. and now we are at 18k... . You really can't tell what's going to happen in net 48 hours on this market.

Why you chose $20.000? Because it is a psychological level? or a beautiful value? Last days showed that Bitcoin price is no predictable.

Your replies are all off topic if you took the time to read the questioning of the original poster.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin rate will increase to $1,000,000 in three years - McAfee on: December 12, 2017, 06:35:41 AM
The thing is, if I did not know anything about Bitcoin I would perhaps think the same, because the potential is huge. But question is: does McAfee know Bitcoin is not a currency?
Does it know it is impossible to buy everyday life products with Bitcoin because of big fees and transaction time?
I hope for him he knows a little about what he invested into!
273  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: i heard bitcoin illegal in Taiwan...why? on: December 12, 2017, 06:21:47 AM
The Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has declared Bitcoin to be illegal in Taiwan, following a recent high-profile kidnapping accident involving ransom demands made in Bitcoin. So I suppose nobody has ever kidnapped anyone in Taiwan and demanded cash as ransom? Since they still use money, not illegal yet, than I must conclude this incident is the first kidnapping ever to occur in Taiwan, right? Makes as much sense as making Bitcoin illegal. Make cars illegal, they kill people or, make people illegal, they commit crimes.
Hi mate. I can read Chinese (decently) but cannot really type yet. By any chance, do you please have an article or source about this? From a local media support perhaps?
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How more tough can the skeptics become? on: December 11, 2017, 08:56:54 AM
The skeptics are so because Bitcoin has became a pure speculative asset. I can understand where they are coming from.
I mean how many holders right now know the basics of blockchain, how it works, how mining works, etc.? Truth is there are many newbies investing now and looking to sell as soon as they can for a quick profit.
That's why I believe there will be major corrections on the price in the near future.
That being said I remain optimistic in the long term, as long as the fees concern can be looked into.
275  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Problems registering for Bitcoin exchanges! Coinbase, Kraken and Bitfinex on: December 11, 2017, 08:52:32 AM
Coinbase is reliable, you should contact the support center.
Kraken have recurrent issues lately, check their Twitter > https://twitter.com/krakensupport/status/939771569118896129
Please check status here: http://status.kraken.com
Staff are hard at work on testing upgrades soon to be deployed.

Kraken was my favorite broker until this year, they say the issues should be solved in two or three days, hopefully it is done for good this time.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin price so much lower on bittrex as oppose to coinbase/gdax/gemini? on: December 11, 2017, 08:03:10 AM
Okay s btc price selling for usdt on bittrex is about 500 dollars less than on gdax/coinbase/gemini etc.  If thats the case, why would anyone sell bitcoin on bittrex?

first of all $500 is not called "so much lower" it is only 3% lower than other places, you are talking about $500 out of nearly $16,000!

Sorry to disagree but 3% is big, very big when you are a trader, those guys are looking at 0.5%, 1% profit on the trades they place. At least that was the case when I was doing arbitrage on sports odds five years ago.  Smiley
277  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What's wrong with Coinmama? on: December 11, 2017, 07:48:52 AM
I tried to open an account with them over 3 days ago and haven't got antyhing more than they are really  ???busy. Is that any way to run an exchange?
Not sure, I'll be honest their support center is not good. Sent them twice a question and I never got any reply from them, that's not professional and not a good way to keep your customers happy.
I bought from them because they were one of the fews to accept payment with bank card (the fee is intimidating though).
Don't think I will go back to them unless they work on their fees and their customer service.

That being said, they verified my KYC very quickly before I bought so I can not be too harsh on them.

Why don't you try another broker?
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin Needs Fork? Is Forks are good for Bitcoin? on: December 11, 2017, 07:36:22 AM
I just heard from my friend that,  5 Bitcoin Forks can be happen in next 4 months. I was wonder that why bitcoin needs fork? is it helpful for bitcoin stability? Please Tell me kindly.

Have a good day. Thank You
Truth is, you cannot deny the power of Bitcoin Cash (transactions speed and fees)

Isn't it only because BTH is not used much, compared to bitcoin? Bitcoin on its good days has low transaction fees, too. It is during days (well, weeks) like the current one, when we have more than 200k unconfirmed transactions, that we have fees 10-folds the regular fees.

I am wondering what would happen if the BCH had  a moment of 200k unconfirmed transactions, too
A major difference is the size of the block, not sure if you are aware but Bitcoin Cash is 8MB.
279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Stabilizing At $20K on: December 11, 2017, 07:26:33 AM

As Bitcoin is now considered as a legitimate asset or a store of value on the same level (or should I say higher?) as that of the physical gold, stocks, established international currencies like US Dollar and the likes as well as traditional derivatives, maybe it is time to celebrate for some pizza (see above) and some bottle of beer (see below).

With the introduction of the Bitcoin Futures, am wondering if there is a possibility that eventually Bitcoin would be stabilized at the $20,000 level for years all because the futures are putting the restraints and ceiling to its growth?

Actually, I do not have any problem if that can be case...but do you think many would still be investing with Bitcoin when the rate can be stable? We all know that majority of us in Bitcoin are here all because we are speculators first and foremost.

What is your opinion on this scenario? Bur before that...let's have some beer first!

http://bitcoinreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/german-beer-bitcoin.jpg

Great question, very relevant.
Holders back in 2011, 2012 etc had no problem holding even when the price was stable for a while, because they truly believed in the original idea behind Bitcoin, and were thinking long term.
These days are perhaps not over yet, but let's be honest, there are loads of people now buying Bitcoin to make a quick profit, they don't understand the concept and will sell as soon as possible.
This is a personal opinion but I believe the drop in price last two days is due to big investors buying at 10,000 because of the hype, and selling at 15,000... I mean they know nothing about cryptos, but made a 50% profit in two weeks time, can you blame them?

Hi akashark. I was still a newbie when Bitcoin Cash was born so I did not follow the story much and cannot really tell, but from what I know, many consider Bitcoin Cash as an altcoin, just like any other altcoin. Truth is, you cannot deny the power of Bitcoin Cash (transactions speed and fees) but many holder dumped it to get free Bitcoin. Those who hold Bitcoin before August 1 had the possibility to claim the same amount in Bitcoin Cash, and many just traded them for Bitcoin or sold them for fiats.
Now, I know Segwit2x was supposed to help Bitcoin, especially knowing that Bitcoin is too limited right now, because of the size of the block (1MB).
Segwit2x size block was agreed to be 2MB, to help transactions be quicker.
Truth to be told, it seems like a fork happens when the community behind Bitcoin disagrees on future developments, hence a fork to split the blockchain. It does not give Bitcoin a good image though. I think the more forks will happen and the more people will simply ignore them and keep their Bitcoins.
What's happening right now is a lot of people just profiting from these forks to get free money.
