At least Gareth or Yankee are fixing your problems.
I still have no $$ after about a MONTH so I still call SCAM on Bitinstant
until I see otherwise.

OrderID fd66a7e3-ce45-4d0f-b20b-ccaeb23dea58
QuoteID 6f0f2f9c-43e3-427d-a363-39b01031971b

Bitinstant "somehow" turned my account # at MtGox
to "exchange". This happened on Feb 21 2013 17:55
Over 30 emails and STILL no $$.

Have been missing $480.05 since.

We do not scam people.

I do not want this to come across as blaming you, but most likely this was a mistake on your end - there's no way your order alone could have suffered this kind of bug while 1000s of others do not.

The last I heard, your order did in fact execute because there is a valid user with the username "exchange" at gox - once funds are sent to a gox account the only thing we can do from our end is to ask gox to redirect the funds, which has been done.

If you are unhappy with how long this is taking, please get in touch with mtgox support by email and CC our support team (support@bitinstant.com) and myself (gareth@bitinstant.com).

Gareth can you also check into mine? on March 5th i put through a bitcoin to bitaddress transfer and still has not been completed. Ive had a few emails from bitinstant but they all seem like computerized responses. Rachel was looking into it for me but i am not longer receiving responses. Hate feeling like i am out my money and my purchase window to use them is running out...

Gareth,

I hate to be "that guy" who keeps spamming every possible person on Bitinstant, but I really need a resolution. My order ID is ce191eae-4f8c-4ffa-9230-4872bfbe6193

I already opened a ticket (SVV-CEBLW-056) but have not received an update despite being told my order would be manually processed yesterday. I had requested to have the coins sent to my bitstamp account but if there is a another preferred method please let me know. I have a time-sensitive business transaction to conduct so the sooner the better.

I'm not sure how often you check this thread so I also sent you a PM and email.

Thanks,

Justin Varner

I got your PM and have raised the issue with our support - please get in touch again if it's not dealt with soon.

Its been almost 2 WEEKS and still have not received my bitcoins to my bitcoin address!! Bitinstant said it will be back up Monday 3.11, and I still have yet to receive my coins. I also have stopped getting any feedback or emails from them. I would extremely like to know when I will finally get my bitcoins.

Please PM me with your username at an exchange (mtgox, btc-e, bitstamp or whatever) and i'll arrange to have your funds sent there without fees.

I've often wondered why these tax protesters can't just be honest and say "yes, the law says tax is owed - but I disagree with that law" and then accept that the state will in fact agree with the law and thus enforce it.

I'd personally have a lot more respect for someone with the guts to stand up in court and say "under the law i'm guilty as charged, but the law is immoral" than I would for someone who tries to argue that the law somehow agrees with them using bizarre arguments like these.

Sir, i have ati radeon hd graphics card . is there any chance i can mine btc ?
thank you for reply.

Again, this thread is for BitInstant support and not general support with bitcoin, so please ask any further questions elsewhere, but to answer your question "yes, but it's not going to be too profitable these days".
268  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who do I owe.. on: March 12, 2013, 07:27:34 PM
Hello World!

Yesterday, and the day before, I navigated to Bitinstant and setup 4 cash transfers to my Gox account. The transfers were for $100, $50, $500, and $450. I then went to my local Walmart and filled out the moneygram forms and handed them to the woman working the register. She took the forms from me and entered all of the information into her computer, and I paid for the first 3 transactions. But on the fourth transaction she told me the transaction for $450 would not go through but she would try it one more time. Again she put the information from the moneygram form into the computer, only this time she told me that her computer read, "transaction already been paid." By this point there was a long line of people being held up behind me, so she told me to come back tomorrow morning. Just to be clear, I paid Walmart $100+$50+$500 = $650; she never took any money from me for the final transaction of $450 and gave me back its moneygram form. After leaving Walmart, I went straight home and logged into Gox and it showed that my account had $1040  Huh

My question is, who do I owe money to?

That's a new one - can you email the moneygram/zipzap info to me at gareth@bitinstant.com and CC support@zipzapinc.com outlining what happened?

Sounds like a weird glitch on moneygram's end or user error from the cashier (my theory is they accidentally set it as paid with cash the first time), but it's worth investigating - thanks for your honesty!

This thread is for support with BitInstant (see www.bitinstant.com), not bitcoin in general - but most likely you have bad OpenCL/CUDA drivers or a mismatch with 32-bit and 64-bit code.
270  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitfloor is very expensive... on: March 12, 2013, 07:17:16 PM
I have not had a chance to try Bitfloor yet, but I did finally get bitcoins through btcquick. I like their business model.

Re Bitfloor.

I used their service once.  Please fill me in if I'm looking at this the wrong way.

Their service seems to be extremely expensive.

The transferring of money from a cash deposit at a local Bank of America wasn't bad.

But once the money was in my account,  I had to trade for Bitcoins, and the rate was terrible.

Our of a $500 cash deposit,  I ended up with about $440 dollars worth of bitcoins.

Whereas with BitInstant,  a cash deposit at Walmart, through ZipZap yeilded me with about $480 dollars which immediately was transferred into my MtGox account, and the trade there was at the market rate, which gave me abouit $480 worth of Bitcoins.

So even though the transfer fees through Bitfloor were low, their 'Market Rate' for buying Bitcoins was expensive.

I lost about $40 out of my $500 compared to using BitInstant and MtGox.

Am I going about this wrong?

Thanks.  Iz.

I'm obviously incredibly biased, but for any service of this sort the important thing is that the bitcoins are purchased at market rate on a high volume exchange. Most of our traffic ends up  going through gox for example.

Gareth,

I prefer to use BitInstant,  and out of about 10 transactions, I've  Been happy with all of them.  The longest I've had to wait is overnight.  Now all of my transactions have involved transferring money into MtGox.  I used to use the Dwolla into MtGox,  but that seems to be more troublesome than Cash through ZipZap into MtGox.

Obviously there are some concerns right now with BitCoin.  Because of that I initiated a Bank Wire transfer to MtGox last week, and I'm still waiting for that to clear.

I'd like to continue using BitInstant, and would like to hear your thought and recommendations regarding which service from BitInstant is likely to be the safest and least troublesome.

Is Dwolla to MtGox working now?  I remember there were a lot of 'Account Verification failed' type errors that required me asking for help on this forum to get the transaction to go through.  Out of five or six different transactions, only one went through direclty without asking for help.   I'd like to be able to use that service and skip the step of making a cash deposit at Walmart.

Going that route of making a cash deposit at Walmart has always gone through immediately without any additional help.  I'm concerned though that this, so far bullet-proof type of transaction could fail.  Is it likely to remain working?

What do you recommend?

Thanks,  Iz.

If you find cash deposits easiest then use cash, of course if you ever have issues then get in touch and we'll fix it.

seriously if thinking about guns casues this much trouble maybe we should write American off as a whole

im from the UK (not perfect but not on the borderline of stupidity)

i know alots gone on with guns but its your own damn faults for allowing the general population to have them

The article is satire, and thus the story is fiction. This is stated at the bottom of the article, as well as in the title. (Satire).

I'm disturbed anyone would need to have it pointed out to them that this is satire

General update for all concerned:

As can be seen on this thread, we're still working through all current support issues and outstanding orders, if you have an order that's still pending then get in touch.

Coinapult is still down at present while various changes are made behind the scenes - this means our direct to bitcoin address and email destinations are not available right now. However, they will become available again soon enough (current ETA is roughly 24 hours but this is a very rough estimate).

Please keep an eye on our blog at http://blog.bitinstant.com as an official update will be coming soon and will be posted there.

We are also making some procedural and infrastructure changes internally to try and better deal with any issues causing delays, but ask for your understanding due to the high work load at present.

To add to this:

We've currently got approx 30 outstanding support issues to deal with and 3 members of staff on support including myself right now. This should give people some idea of where they are in the "queue".

Hello,

I placed an order on bitinstant about 2 days ago, and All my money has been held up. Apparently my Dwolla verification failed (I was doing Dwolla --> mtgox) and it's stuck on "Waiting" in the event log. I'd love to have my money back, either in Mtgox or dwolla, doesn't really matter. I can send all the details in a PM if you'd like, I was just searching for a way to contact someone to get this figured out. Thank you.

Have you contacted any of our support team about this yet?

Send me the details (QuoteID and your dwolla account number if possible) via PM here and i'll get this resolved for you. If you have already contacted support then please let me know who you contacted and ticket numbers etc.
277  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: convenient way to send money to BC address as bitinstant no longer offers... on: March 12, 2013, 04:48:49 PM
I have aways sent cash via Western union/Zip Zap directly to a bitcoin address using bitinstant. It was the easiest method. The chain was basically... bitinstant/zip zap/bitcoin address. The transaction appeared on mtgox but I didnt have to deposit money in mtgox and make the transaction. Bitinstant made the currency exchange using a 3rd party and the bitcoins went directly to a bitcoin address.

As bitinstant no longer does these transactions does anyone know a easy way to send money directly to a bitcoin address? I do not want to use an exchange or a wallet as why should I do this transaction in 4 steps when one can do it in 2. Or at least I used to be able to do this!? Now I need to find a new way as bitinstant no longer sends directlly to a bitcoin address!?

So, what is the easiest way to send money to a bitcoin address, making payment locally?  Cry  Smiley

We have not permanently dropped this option and intend to restore it as soon as possible.

In the meantime however, the easiest thing to do is to make a cash deposit into your gox account and buy BTC at market rate there, if you have any issues doing this then get in touch and i'll help you out personally.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amateur hour on: March 12, 2013, 04:33:05 PM
If you don't have time to write the fix yourself, what about outlining how to fix it so that someone else can do the heavy lifting of coding it?

Not an attack or anything - just seems like if you truly have a way to fix the issues and the only issue is lack of time then describing your method would appear to be the least you can do.

Can a BI rep help me out?  7 days now and no coins.  Not getting any helpful responses other than "what is your order number" which I have supplied countless times to numerous people (rachel, seth, charlie) in various formats (e-mail, PM)

I'd like to stress, to this day, we have never ever scammed anyone.

If you have an order that has not processed, we will refund the fees always and honor the BTC price.

Just an update... after MANY emails & PMs to everyone I could at bitinstant, I finally had my FEBRUARY 19TH ORDER processed last night (MARCH 11TH) by Rachel.  Here's the catch: Bitcoins were $28-$29 when I placed my order... and $43-$44 when it was finally filled by bitinstant.  My fees were NOT refunded, NOR were the original bitcoin prices honored.  I took a big hit here.  I e-mailed Rachel, asking about their promise of refunding fees and honoring bitcoin price... so I guess I'll wait and see if I actually get a response, or if they fix it.  But based on what I've dealt with so far, I highly doubt they will.  I will keep you guys posted.
Good luck everyone!

PM me order details and i'll chase this up.

I got your PM just now, i'm checking into things - there's a possibility we'll have to redirect your funds to another exchange - please PM me with your preference (gox/bitstamp/btc-e) and your username at that exchange.
