261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: September 30, 2021, 10:14:36 AM
Any predictions on what team will come in last place? I think Houston might be a good selection as they deal with the James Harden fallout and now trying to find a new home for John Wall… The Cavaliers seem stuck in the LeBron James hangover still. Kevin Love won’t let them buy him out and I don’t think his heart is in it anymore. That team is a mess and probably will be for another 2-3 years.

Houston has Jalen Green though, been watching the kid's clips on YouTube ever since, if he stays healthy and consistent, he has the potential to bring Houston in a better position (not sure in the playoffs though, he's still a rookie), also, I do think that the Wizards may need a solid PG after Russ being traded to the Lakers, John Wall would be a great fit once again for the Wizards with Bradley Beal.

Kevin Love on the other hand was throwing the game, after his return, I guess things just didn't feel the same anymore to him when LeBron and Kyrie was in the Cavs with him, really a sad situation for him though, it's not that Kevin Love isn't allowed for a buyout but he himself is not interested to negotiate a buyout with the team, after finding this out, I feel like Kevin Love doesn't have that much love for the game anymore, with 2 more years on his contract, I feel like he just wants to finish his contract, collect his remaining salary, and retire from the NBA, although his fans won't like that, but I feel like K. Love is pretty much content with his achievements as an NBA player, just my own speculation about his situation but I'd love to see him play more, he really is a big help and influence to the young players in Cavs.
262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING: Skill-based vs. Chance-based on: September 30, 2021, 08:51:10 AM
That's true.

Demo is just a trial and nothing to be excited about.

The thrill is with real betting and your money is on it and that's why you have to be good if you're playing skilled games or take your chance and see if you're lucky if its the other game.

While demo version of games may seem like just a 'trial version', but for skill-based games, it actually hones your skills literally, so you can't belittle those demo versions, of course, there is no thrill considering you don't have anything in stake or at risk when playing demo versions, and you also gain knowledge at it while risking nothing, although, demo versions tend to give you much more consideration to the game or the difficulty usually is easier than the real game (based on my experience on some games, at least), when you're money is really at stake.

265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difficulty of explaining Bitcoin to people is massive on: September 26, 2021, 07:21:05 PM
I think it's a good idea to start off by explaining who the creator of Bitcoin is and the fact that even the creator has no control over it, it's actually a good idea but I think they're missing out the point because they tried to slam you with arguments about Bitcoin being decentralized, if they won't believe you on that part, you could have at least convinced them about investing in Bitcoin and try it out for themselves.

The problem sometimes goes with how we actually explain BTC, but sometimes it also goes out to the one who's listening, sometimes, it's hard to teach someone who isn't willing to listen in the first place, your efforts will just be wasted, better off talking about something instead of wasting your time.
266  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador retirees protest against Bitcoin as legal tender on: September 26, 2021, 07:02:06 PM
In my own opinion, I think these retirees are uneducated or misinformed on how Bitcoin works.
Maybe but I wouldn't be thinking that they're like that. We can understand if they are misunderstood or still don't know what bitcoin is and it is understandable if they're asking. But coming with some brutal actions, they shouldn't act like that.

They just need to be educated that’s all. I even saw on my news feed about some protestors are burning and destroying a Bitcoin ATM. Plus, the president claimed that adopting Bitcoin isn’t mandatory. It’s just their own option if they do so, but making Bitcoin a legal tender is a huge step in the right direction to massively adopt this legendary crypto.
Yeah, they must be educated and if they're the one startling riots, burning of things, that's going far and it's no longer bearable and tolerable if such actions has been made if they're just protesting and don't understand what bitcoin is.

It's either they are uneducated and that they lack the information to understand how Bitcoin works or they are just literally closed-minded to the fact that Bitcoin will be El Salvador's legal tender, if these protesters are closed-minded, no matter how much knowledge is thrown at them, they won't give any attention about it, which is something we really can't do anymore.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Challenge with small investment in bitcoin on: September 26, 2021, 06:55:51 PM
This thread will spark motivation to those who are planning to invest but has little budget to do soo, I do hope OP gets a successful profit after this long-term investment, start small, and then get big by the time Bitcoin's value goes high, 50$ a week is not that much considering you'll invest it every week and get 200$ by the month passes by, best of luck to your investment, I'll keep an eye out on your progress by visiting this thread every month.  Grin
268  Other / Off-topic / Re: Never-ending crypto scam insanity on Youtube on: September 26, 2021, 05:04:35 PM
oh really bad mate, agree. Youtube need to react according this and similar cases. 2fa from November will be good as scam block but will that be enough to stop this thiefs, hope. We will see soon.

I don't think 2FA is gonna be enough though, especially to those channels that can easily be hacked, channels that has 1m or 2m subscribers, these hackers end up redoing the whole channel's content and then broadcast a fake livestream of them giving away Bitcoins or even their own token, the sad thing here is that these viewers are not knowledgeable or literate enough to identify that this is a huge scam, what's even sadder here is that YouTube does not seem to prioritize these kinds of reports, unless they get mass reported by multiple users, this kind of scam has been going out for years now, you can see that YouTube doesn't care that much.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Picture/Logo of Bitcoin on the top of IND vs SL T20 Trophy! on: September 26, 2021, 04:51:32 PM
As to its nature of design in the trophy, it's not directly correlating towards CoinDCX, and I'm happy to see BTC as part of the trophy. Many people might be wondering why it has something like that, and more and more people might get into the cryptocurrency space, which is a good thing, IMO. I hope a lot of companies would do the same and sponsor tournaments etc.

I haven't tried CoinDCX before. Anyone here that has used this?

Actually prefer using the BTC logo instead of using CoinDCX, it kind of looks little though in my opinion, I think they can make it a little bit bigger. Honestly, CoinDCX is India's largest and boasts about being the safest cryptocurrency exchange, I have Indian crypto friends who actually use and their review about it is positive, low withdrawal fees, great security, and they are now also available on iOS. (Not promoting CDCX in anyway though).
270  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will the exchange cancel all Chinese users? on: September 26, 2021, 04:05:32 PM
You know, there are several ways to bypass these Chinese bans on Crypto currencies. There are millions of Chinese citizens with family and friends that are working or living in other countries where Bitcoin is legal. They will simply do direct Bitcoin transfers to these people and then ask them to push the coins through "legal" exchanges in other countries.

One thing about Chinese citizens is this.... "They know how to circumvent restrictions from their government" ..... and they are clever enough to get away with it. ( I know several Chinese people that are working in my country and they are very clever )  Wink

If this is true, then the news about the Chinese government and about the ban is not a big deal to the actual Chinese citizens than it is to us, knowing on how big of an impact it will show to the market, if this is true that there's still a way to bypass the restrictions without them getting caught, then it's actually good news for them.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter to pay content creators in bitcoin on: September 26, 2021, 03:32:39 PM
Twitter's Jack Dorsey told investors that bitcoin would be an important instrument for the company and that they would introduce the feature to his Tip Jar. At the moment it appears this feature is only in the beta version of iOS, but it looks like it will make its way to Android as well eventually. It's not yet known when the feature will launch, but the code also indicates that Twitter will provide users with tutorials on how to tip using bitcoins, as well as using Bitcoin Lightning Network and custodial and non-custodial wallets.

Using Bitcoin as payment for content creators is a good idea, for both Bitcoin and Twitter's content creators, not only will they have an opportunity to make more profit because of Bitcoin, but because of them as content creators using Bitcoin and their platform and audience to gain more trust over Bitcoin.

I entirely agree with Jack Dorsey, Bitcoin is actually a useful instrument for social media platforms, a lot of people uses Twitter as a platform for cryptocurrency and endorsing projects as well.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All crypto declared illegal in China!!!!!!!!!!!!! on: September 25, 2021, 06:41:51 PM
It's just a huge excuse for them to mention about the illegal crime activities that involved cryptocurrency, it's such a weak alibi that they didn't even hesitate to put it in their statement, also, China's population is enormous, 1,411,778,724, the impact may not be huge considering the government of China being against crypto ever since, the impact of this to the market is not that enormous, but the impact of this ban to chinese citizens or at least the people who live in China is what impacted the most, they'll have to withdraw or exchange their bitcoins, or else, all of their efforts are wasted, I'm pretty sure before the ban was applied, there was a heads up, but if there wasn't, then that's quite unfortunate.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Bitcoin through SMS/Text Messaging? on: September 22, 2021, 07:04:21 PM
I'm looking for a way to send Bitcoin to people in countries which lack Internet access. After all, being able to send Bitcoin in a safe and secure way over SMS/Text messaging would prove to be extremely convenient for "offline" transactions. For once, I've heard about a crypto service which allowed people to send Bitcoin over SMS/Text messaging. But I can't recall its name. Still though, it relies on a central operator/middleman. I'd prefer a solution that would allow me to send BTC though SMS/Text messaging in the most decentralized way possible.

Do you think it's possible to do this? Are you aware of any methods to sent BTC through SMS/Text messaging without relying on third parties? If it cannot be done in a decentralized manner, I'd still like to know if there are mainstream companies offering such possibility to Bitcoin users. Thanks in advance. Smiley

I don't have an idea yet on how it can be possible to send Bitcoin through SMS, although it is possible to send an invoice of your transaction and track your transaction using SMS, it is actually simple in that way, however, if you are to send Bitcoin through SMS, I guess it's possible as long as you have mobile data to back your wallet up and use SMS, I think it's possible, apologies for quite an unclear idea of mine.

SMS may not be the number 1 messaging utility used today because of how advanced we are that everyone uses mobile data and internet instead of using SMS, but if this gets implemented, it's actually a good idea for those who prefer SMS over online transactions.
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Gold: Superiority on: September 22, 2021, 06:45:08 PM
Question

The price of gold fell 10.5% since the beginning of the year, but the price of Bitcoin gained 332%. Bitcoin, in the same decade, has returned 146% annually, compared to gold's 0% per year. Is it really necessary for us to still debate which of the two is superior?

I don't think at this point is necessary to debate over Bitcoin and Gold, as much as people call Bitcoin the "Digital Gold", I think it's rude to be called it that way, Bitcoin is unique, so does Gold, and if we're talking about superiority in value, definitely Bitcoin wins, it took decades before gold actually grew to a higher value, but it definitely is much more stable than Bitcoin.
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin academy on: September 22, 2021, 05:07:11 PM
So you mean an academy or school all intended for Bitcoin? I don't know but it depends on the fees you will be providing, I think it is essential, but, with so many platforms you can use for free, you can easily gain knowledge without having to spend for anything, all you need is your smartphone or desktop with a good internet, go on to this forum and you'll bump on to a lot of threads and topics that can easily give you knowledge.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scammers put bad impact to Our Government about Bitcoin Transections. on: September 22, 2021, 03:01:52 PM
I disagree with the fact that scammers have ruined the name or popularity of Bitcoin, with more influencers/celebrities like Elon Musk, MrBeast, and some Hollywood celebrities that are supporting/investing in BTC, scammers are just there to ruin the name of Bitcoin, but the amount of people that actually supports BTC are more than these scammers that are throwing dirt in its name.

Bitcoin is still on a positive state even if scammers exist, scammers will always be present, whether it be Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, so I honestly think that scammers really won't ruin Bitcoin even if they try.
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Great Thing is about Bitcoin on: September 22, 2021, 02:40:27 PM
That thought of yours count, BTC is generally for all the people, rich or poor, everyone is allowed and able to buy and sell bitcoins, imagine those people who were able to overcome poverty because of how Bitcoin continued to grow, most probably these people are more invested in Bitcoin after seeing such growth.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I helped 2 non-crypto people invest in bitcoin on: September 22, 2021, 06:04:36 AM
It's much easier to convince someone to invest in cryptocurrency, you can show them several proof/evidence that the people who invested in Bitcoin gained a huge profit after Bitcoin reached its ATH, it's not like before when most of the people believed that Bitcoin used to be a scam, today, more people would like to invest in crypto rather than in fiat, and because of this, we can easily convince our friends/relatives that they should atart investing in BTC.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Future? on: September 21, 2021, 10:25:40 PM
Just by looking at what's going on, we can say that the future of bitcoin is looking very bright. El Salvador accepts bitcoin as legal tender, Some large corporations like IBM, Nvidia, Mastercard, or Visa have made moves to show interest in the crypto market. The attraction of Bitcoin is really spreading globally and no one can stop it.

And this is the only beginning of our journey, it has only been a decade but looking today on how fast/rapid Bitcoin and the whole market evolves, I really think that it looks quite promising, the future is indeed bright and with El Salvador, the first country to actually decade BTC as local tender, I can only imagine on how many governments would follow El Salvador's footsteps, not saying that El Salva will be able to manage this right away but if they do overcome these issues, I really think the chances of other governments declaring BTC as a legal tender are much higher now.

We're not yet in Bitcoin's prime, not yet.
280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Past three months bitcoin journey on: September 21, 2021, 04:11:03 PM
Your plan is actually doing great, the first 3 months are actually critical when you're about to make a commitment, once you get used to this habit, you'll find other ways to be happy, good food and a gaming setup would be sick, but it would definitely be better if you gain a huge profit after years of hodling and investing or trading, it's definitely a worthy plan as soon as you realize that you've been holding for quite a long time, I also reas your data on your first three months, goodluck!
