Trading volume really picked up this week. Nice, this coin deserves more attention.

Still can't get staking to work though.  Sad

Is your balance showing up properly? Is the wallet in synch? And also, what version of the wallet are you running?

I really hope my link did not impacted the price, hell if I knew I will woke up and see such a dump this morning  Undecided SLR fluctuations are of a very big amplitude !!!

I doubt it did. The volume impressed me. 1.5 million Solarcoin traded on Bittrex in the last few hours. I don't know to whom, but that's still impressive.

Where can you see how much SLR traded on bittrex. it seems to only show it in BTC volume.

I don't know why Bittrex doesn't make it available on the main screen, because it is available through their API.

If you go into google spreadsheet and paste:

Code:
=IMPORTDATA("https://bittrex.com/api/v1.1/public/getmarketsummary?market=btc-slr")

It'll pull all of the summary data for Solarcoin.

Wow your learn something new everyday!!!  I'm going to start using this to analyze the markets.

Can this extend to other API's importing data like that? It is a cool function.

Do other exchanges have similar API's? Yes, though all of them work differently. You can of course check any of the coins listed on bittrex with that command by substituting btc-slr for any of the other coins also, btc-eth for example.

Something weird happening in there, from a daily average of two BTC to 157 btc. I cannot even make theories on what is happening, maybe a whale accumulating some coins and getting ready to pump?

It looked like some of it was manipulation. There were some real trades in there, I just couldn't tell you how many through the noise.

To me, it looks like someone was trying to fill in at 7000...
but...  Wink

Yea that 7000 has been there for a couple of weeks....  I have a feeling it's probably the same person that has been pumping/dumping.  They were probably trying to get their bid filled.  To bad for him/her.  On the plus side this has to be an all time high in volume for SLR.

I've never seen this behavior before with SLR on Bittrex. There's something going on.

@corather you could try running a proxy too if you are using dwarfpool. At least for me it gave me an additional 10-15% or something like that.

I am, it's running smoothly. Smiley

hello guys, been out of the mining scene since august but looks like gpu mining is once again profitable !

i still have 6 x 290's + 2 x 7900 + 3 x 6900's

does anybody know where to start ? any mining software + a pool recommendation would be greatly appreciated !

I have a small amount of hashing going on here: http://dwarfpool.com/eth
Get your miners going and once things are stable you can try tweaking a bit and also setup a local proxy for a bit more speed. My advise though, is to get things going so you have a stable base point before going on.

do you have any reference that tells how much mh/s i can get from my hardware and how to configure them correctly ?

i already started mining with a couple of 290s just to try it out, getting around 47 mh/s without tweaking any settings, is that okay for a 2 290s ?

i'm also mining on dwarf pool, man i feel so rusty haven't mined in ages now !

also what do you mean by setting up a proxy ?

I have two 290s getting around 50-something MH/s so that sounds good to me.
What I wrote earlier, once you have got things up and running, check the tweak that are published on the dwarfpool site. There is also a proxy that you can run for a 10-20% speed boost. it's trivial to setup, just read carefully through the instructions and change the defaults to suite your needs. Eg, change eth address, ip, ports etc. Otherwise, tweak some settings for your cards and see what they give in terms of performance. But each card normally gives about 25 MH/s or so.

http://dwarfpool.com/faq/#maxspeed

I'm getting around 20 MH on my old 7950's. I thought I could do better, but it seems about right if the 290's are getting 25mh.

Amazing. I get the feeling more of Wall St. and such want in on ETH  than on BTC (as the latter is still a bit stigmatised.)
It is amazing you don't understand the real reason behind. Wall St understand quite well that ETH is not a threat to their parasitic business. BTC is their real enemy.

Pretty much and I don't think Wall st. likes to be #2 to anything. They can take ETH where they want to. Let the techies do their thing and Wall St. the marketing.
Still think BTC is going to be huge, just a different animal.

Bitcoin is to email what Ethereum is to text messaging. Both have their uses but text messaging blew up with the cel phone market. I have a feeling Ethereum will do the same shortly.

any bounty available to get some solarcoin?

There's a rewards program if you refer individuals or even large solar farms for claims, you get a percentage based on their claim.

Ethereum and The Dao make it into Fortune magazine.

http://fortune.com/2016/05/15/leaderless-blockchain-vc-fund/

they call theDAO, with more than 100 Musd received,  as comparable to a venture capital fund

do you agree?

Neither agree nor disagree. I was just mentioning the article.

Lol someone bought ~50 000 coins just 30 minutes ago driving the price up to 0.00019 BTC Cheesy Look at the Market Cap by Total Supply:

I think this is the right time to take off for real Tongue Few more Bitcoins and we are in the TOP 10 for sure  Grin

@CryptoNick cmon man say something again, doesn't matter what it is just SAY SOMETHING MAAN - it is really a miracle every time you speak and the price take off like a rocket Cheesy

Ok! You asked for it... You got it! Toyota...

The market cap should not be based on 98 Billion Coins, it should be the 33 Million or what is in circulation. Anyone could make a coin and have that kind of market cap just trading to themselves, or why not create 1 Trillion coins just for fun and top the charts.

If the Claim coin were part of the market cap it would deluge the buys and the actual price per coin would be 1 satoshi. This would be a good thing though since it would now be a stable coin. Then SLR just needs to wait for BitCoin to go up in value to make the SLR worth more! So once BitCoin hits $100,000 per coin SLR will be at 1 penny and Market Cap will be about 1 Billion if we are using the 98 Billion instead of the 33 Million. Not to mention there is no real market cap unless every Claimer is putting up their SolarPanels as Backing to investors.

Now you can get rid of the day traders too while stabilizing the merchants liquidity! There you go!

hi, forget about 98 billion coins. the amount of subsidies is so small that their market will not notice. but largely solve the problem of subsidies coin network (a la nick gogerty). ie the expansion of the network increases liquidity. electricchain.org tool is designed to increase the number of network participants.

sorry for Google translator ^^

They are listing it in the Coin Market Cap at 98 Billion and topping BitCoin in Market Cap, this is the only reason I say that.

The increase in participants are not buying coin, they are granted coin, when we talk about liquidity we mean merchants being able to sell in order to become Liquid. So liquidity is not increased if they have to compete with 98 Billion Coins being claimed by claimers for free. More network participants means more transactions but to who? If the participants buy things with SLR then Merchants must get liquidity. So we hope for buying SLR from anyone other than day traders at low buys? Who buys high and sells low? How does this substantiate a market cap when there is no backing to the coin other than people own 33 Million of 98 Billion. Multiplication makes the numbers correct, yet the coin is not disbursed to show what the real Cap would be backed by nothing but free coin again.

What incentives do people have to take their Money and Buy BitCoin to then Buy SolarCoin. It is cheaper to buy the actual coin than it is to claim so at this point it doesn't even make sense to buy Solar with your money and claim. So in this respect SLR is severely undervalued but even if it boosts up, when it hits that threshold or highest possible price, who will buy then? This is the ultimate dilemma! A Leaky Ceiling! What makes people buy other than profit taking, and if people can claim for free... who buys those coins and sustains the higher output price in order to substantiate buying Solar just to claim?

You can see it is so close to being solidified we just need the magic number and a roll in of the 33 Million.

Do you think these claimers want to get what they Claimed for? A way to get money as a credit for claiming? If the incentive was to hold it and not sell it then the market cap could be what it is, but the real world means as soon as the price goes up more of the 98 Billion may be claimed to sell and that money never comes back in, so the price per coin must come down due to selling. They will be selling to the low buys too. It is a perpetual mechanism that will happen 98 Billion times and then over and over until it crashes. So the sooner it gets to 1 satoshi and stays there the better, so the coin could be stabilized. Then SLR will really understand oh wow that CryptoNick was right we needed a Magic Number and let the Liquid side do whatever it does with no real effect other than Liquidity which could always stay at 1 satoshi and still support a 1 Billion dollar market. Whew hope the Devs and Community finally see the light but I think the light is glaring off the panels right now distracting them.

I don't think it's going to work this time bud. The market is already trying to reach new highs so your "pep talk" isn't going to have any effect. Wink

Thank you,
Best,
lfloorwalker

The donations so far have been fantastic and further donations are still welcome. They need about 77,000 more Solarcoin to achieve their funding goal. The Solarcoin address for donations can be found here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/slr/address.dws?8Xq689N6DAcQFc6hBRg3wzhjwt9NfiHNgj.htm

I've been working with lfloorwalker for the last few days maintaining the spreadsheet so I'd thought I'd repost.

Could you repost the BTC donation address? I'll send some there...better to give there than create a sale here. Wink

I almost forgot about that.

Why I have the feeling that you will do the exactly opposite of "buying"... There is not a sell wall atm for you to buy many coins cheap, but on the other side of the trading window you can dump 30 000+ coins or even more... And that amount of buy orders sit there for almost 2 days now - exactly when the Bittrex Wallet Maintenance thingy popped up... My "math" is not that good, but your complain is right between when those buy orders appeared and the wallet maintenance "problem" showed up. Another "clue" that I have is that you already made a lot of noise here saying multiple times that you want to BUY and it already seems pretty suspicious that you want so BADLY TO BUY, because there isn't A SELL WALL and that's why NO ONE ELSE complains about it because there isn't a BIG AMOUNT OF COINS to BUY - IN FACT IT'S THE EXACT OPPOSITE - YOU CAN DUMP RIGHT NOW quite a bit  Angry

Well of course there is the other scenario that you want to PUMP the coin, because now seems to be a good moment. BUT if that was the case (that you want to PUMP), you wont complain about it here saying multiple times that you want to BUY, because the PUMP can be done naturally or by anyone and that doesn't explain your urge for buying...

So come on now... do you really want to buy??? I beg to differ...  Roll Eyes

Cheesy Roll your neck in, you are misreading what I'm asking in fact when I said bitcoins I meant 0.3 and just want to top up if that's ok with you tiger!!  Cheesy, maybe I should have been more precise as not to confuse or start a conspiracy. I am just wondering if anybody else has had the same problem on bittrex

I've been in the shade (lol) in this group for some time now, and hold a significant amount of SLR…I think many here believe you to be someone playing the market and/or taking the value of solarcoin down.

It's nice to see the market move the price up naturally…whether it's you (and your lockout, lol) or not, that's difficult to prove…but nice to see.  When are you taking your vacations?  Wink

In either case, it's odd Bittrex is having issues for so long. I suspect they're working on the new features that smaller problems aren't on the priority list. Hope everything gets ironed out soon.

long time supporter here - i have around 30k of this lovely currency in my wallet, staking enabled,
wallet says Staking - expected time to earn interest 1 minute
but it's been like that for months now, never got anything

Staking amount is always 0.
Any ideas what could be wrong?
Last transaction was made in 2014 tough..don't know if that has anything to do with this?

keep up the good work guys, a great cause lies underneath it all

Have you updated the wallet? There were some issues with the first staking wallet that were quickly resolved by the fantastically talented people who rewrote the wallet. The newest version is 2.1.1 (mandatory update).

any good news?
Yes, I have closed the company and scrapped the Moby project

Well done, I wish you great success in your future scams endeavors.

Thank you, and I'll always remember how big of a troll supporter you are.

It's no wonder large corporations are looking at blockchain tech and implementing their own technology. Scammers are busy tripping over dollars and picking up pennies to see the larger picture and what could have been.

global solarchange is shortlisted for BlockChain award.  Global SolarChange is a SolarCoin affiliate which is already in an IBM accelerator program among other things.

http://gtec.berlin/announcing-the-shortlist-for-the-gtec-blockchain-innovation-award/

This is so huge for Solarcoin and for the planet in general. Everyone just sort of passed this announcement by like a footnote in history but this is the kind of exposure that's necessary to bring these projects into mainstream acceptance. Great work Nick, and to the everyone at Global Solarchange. This project gets more and more interesting every few weeks now. It won't be long until it'll take me a good afternoon sifting through all of the news articles and project lists this movement has created. I can't wait. Smiley
