Come on, guys, post pics of your Pandacoin being accepted. Most people haven't really been accepting Bitcoin yet, not to mention some obscure Panda. Nice try pumping it though Smiley
262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Dropping ? How can I Protect The Value Of My Bitcoin. on: November 04, 2014, 09:28:17 AM
Averaging down only works if the price goes up again in the future, but if it doesn't - you lose money or if it doesn't soon enough - you lose many opportunities to make money. Diversification to other prospective crypto technologies is another way to protect the value of your Bitcoin. This approach allows you to stay in the sector but be less sensitive to price drops as the correlation between different crypto technologies and Bitcoin is not 100%.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bryce Weiner has a friend in BlueMeanie on: November 04, 2014, 09:08:08 AM
Bluemeanie's tactics is to make friends with famous people by engaging them in discussions and then get them on his side to speak for his agenda when he attacks someone. But because Bluemeanie is a thief and a psychomaniac, those famous people don't come particularly clean out of this relationship.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most profitable Alternate Cryptocurrencies on: November 04, 2014, 08:59:01 AM
OP, is your goal to get rich quick or long term investment?

If it's the latter, don't look beyond Top 20 or even Top 10 at coinmarketcap.com
As for getting rich quick, it's a gamble, don't listen to anyone, invent your own way of losing money.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Raising awareness for lazy investors. on: November 04, 2014, 08:43:50 AM
no shit eh ? what do yo think i have been doing every day for going on 2 years ?

hint:
i think you guys like to call it FUD'ing

Maybe you explained it in vague terms. Try to use short simple sentences, like I just did above, if you agree with the OP Smiley

Isn't Blocknet scam?

Do yourself a favor and withdraw your coins from centralized exchanges. This prevents price manipulation of coins on the part of exchanges by faking volume with fake coins. Don't allow exchanges to operate on fractional reserves, be your own bank - that's what crypto currencies were designed for. If you don't - you will lose your coins sooner or later. You also suppress the price involuntarily if you store your coins on the centralized exchanges.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has reached the tipping point on: November 03, 2014, 04:36:17 PM
It's interesting that when bitcoiners finally realize that Bitcoin itself is not going anywhere, the rush into crypto 2.0 technologies will be quick and violent. And because the supply of crypto 2.0 tokens is limited, the price will shoot up. At this point many people will be asking "what happened?", "why did the price of a certain crypto 2.0 go up so quickly?", "is it too late to buy now?" usual questions.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I warned you on: November 03, 2014, 08:24:32 AM
My friends warned me that bitcoin is bull shit 3 years ago, can i trust them? the sad story is I believe them.

No, your friend is clueless. Bitcoin is just the first step on the ladder.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I warned you on: November 03, 2014, 08:22:46 AM
There is no reason to worry, the capital is flowing from Bitcoin into more advanced and enhanced crypto technologies. 2009-2013 was the era of Bitcoin as a pioneering crypto currency building basis and providing bootstrapping mechanisms for other crypto technologies, enabling software engineers to form new mentalities and think of novelty ideas. 2014 is the turning point. Bitcoin will not die, of course, not for the next few years, but it has essentially served its purpose and will have no choice but fade away ushering in new crypto trends.

New interesting projects have received funding from bitcoins and are on track to bring amazing technological break-throughs to the world. Bitcoin will always remain grandfather of them all, but as a technology, it's easy to see that its lack of development progress is making it obsolete very fast. Take a step back and watch how crypto space has advanced over the past year: from just one crypto with a few carbon copies to a plethora of crypto (2.0) technologies with an ambition to change the world just as Bitcoin's legacy calls for. Amazing times!

What is MM in supply? Is that million of million as in trillion? 103 with twelve zeros?

MM is million.  Theres 103 million XCH.

Ok thank you, so one 'M' is enough - 103M, otherwise it gets confusing.

I wonder why Google Play doesn't update download stats, there should be more than 5000 downloads now, but it still shows 1000-5000.
274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Blockchain technology will pervade, but not bitcoin." on: November 02, 2014, 12:53:07 PM

He's probably right about estimating the number of bitcoin users - "250k wallets" figure is much closer to the real number of bitcoin users (by my estimates 50k-200k real people behind all bitcoin wallets) than the 500k-2m number often quoted.

Coinbase has 1.7 million accounts that were setup following KYC requirements in the US alone(1.9 with recent expansion to some European countries). Some of these may be user controlled duplicates individuals and business the same user controlled but a majority of these accounts are probably unique per user. While the US is a hotbed of investment, more transaction activity is shown outside of it and thus one should extrapolate a userbase of at least 3-4 million worldwide now.

Where are you getting your estimates ?

Well, what are all those millions of users doing then? I mean if everyone purchased just 1 bitcoin the price would shoot through the roof. One bitcoin is not that huge money, is it? Where did you get the number that Coinbase has 1.7 million accounts? Is that publicly verifiable? I don't believe in millions using Bitcoin. We also need to define 'use', before we even talk about any numbers. My 50k-200k estimation is people who make a transfer of bitcoins at least once every month, that doesn't seem like a huge requirement is it?
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is happening to BitsharesX's price? on: November 02, 2014, 12:40:29 PM
The supply of BTSX is twice as big as that of NXT, hence the price must be half of that of NXT, and given NXT has more features the btsx/nxt balanced ratio should be even lower than 0.5, but it's around 0.8-1 now, which means there is a lot of room for correction of BTSX downwards or of NXT upwards to get to that balanced ratio.

Check out a recent video by CNNmoney:

"Author Jeffrey Robinson tells Richard Quest that virtual currency is the future, but bitcoin is a thing of the past."

He's probably right about estimating the number of bitcoin users - "250k wallets" figure is much closer to the real number of bitcoin users (by my estimates 50k-200k real people behind all bitcoin wallets) than the 500k-2m number often quoted.

It's likely he's right about "virtual currency is the future".

However, those two ideas are not much of a revelation, many people could do the same, are there more videos of him where he actually tries to predict something more specific?
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Blockchain technology will pervade, but not bitcoin." on: November 01, 2014, 08:39:05 AM
The author thinks a blockchain is just a database sitting on a server.

Well, he's right. I would add, the more servers it sits on - the blockchainer it is Smiley

Am I right to assume that mentioning other blockchains that run on code written from scratch would look out of place here and I shouldn't bother with bringing that up? )
No that would be a stupid thing to even think.

Yeah, I figured as much Smiley

These ppl think they can just copy the source code and boom.... there go their "blockchain" technology.
