401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 13, 2014, 01:38:58 PM
Maybe there are two accounts one belong to utopian which is a asset issuer, when he left he transferred all assets to pat.

ah that makes sense, thank you.

Who is the top one with 225 stakes? It's different from the issuer account.

Asset issuer, it actually doesn't belong to anyone.

NXT-97MX-EWKV-CGKX-DA5WH has 225 stakes.
NXT-J62B-CNAR-34YW-4RCFN is the asset issuer.

Biggest penguin is 32 stakes. Doesn't seem THAT bad.

Who is the top one with 225 stakes? It's different from the issuer account.
404  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Doge coin is bad on: October 13, 2014, 08:02:10 AM
Dogecoin hashrate is higher than Litecoin's on a permanent basis now?

I see 1.20 TH/s for Doge vs 1.05 TH/s for Litecoin.
405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My absolute biggest mistake in my entire life. Learn from my mistake, please. on: October 12, 2014, 02:12:22 PM
How much I could have had, if I had not been naive and greedy.

Something wrong with your life if the biggest mistake is related to money...

It could be money is the only aspect of life that he ever made mistakes in Smiley
406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: who lost all their btc from mintpal? on: October 12, 2014, 11:36:29 AM
You must store your cryptos in your own wallet and your own computer, not at a centralized exchange. That's what crypto currencies' goal is - people must be their own bank, not rely on third party.

It's pretty hard to trade if you have all your coins in your local wallet. Isn't it?

95% of day traders lose, so it's pretty hard to trade I agree Smiley

But if we talk about buying and hodling 3-5 cryptos with good fundamentals (the number of cryptos with decent fundamentals is pretty limited), there is no problem storing them out of a centralized exchange. When you store on a centralized exchange, you add another layer of risk. Cryptos are risky per se, why add more risk?
407  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-18] Bitcoin Core Developer Jeff Garzik Believes NXT is a “Scamcoin” on: October 11, 2014, 05:41:54 AM
In order to save electricity and mining costs, NxT removes all incentive for economic activity by punishing spenders with PoS mining. Bitcoin has this problem only when it is experiencing a bubble, and over time, as the bubbles become smaller and less volatile, there will be zero incentive to hold bitcoin as an investment.

If you observed the NXT Asset Exchange activity in the past few months, you'd know that forgers have to make a choice each time new assets are issued. Some assets are really promising and made 5-10x ROI for their investors already. If those users were simply forging, they'd get a measly 0.5%/year returns on their stakes. So no, you're wrong, economic activity is actually on the rise. The trading volumes on NXT AE are not huge yet, but adequate for this stage of development. It makes sense to take a risk and buy into profitable assets, AE is a built-in feature of NXT that cannot be shut down by SEC or such.

Bluemeanie stole one million NXT from the community, he is a known thief.

Joshua Bluemeanie Zeidner,

410  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The time of Dogecoin is nigh on: October 10, 2014, 05:15:34 PM

Consistently doing about 1/4 - 1/3 the transaction volume of bitcoin.

You need tt check this again in last 24 hours doge volume was 1/111 of bitcoins.
$ 63,408,900   vs   $ 569,061

He meant the number of txs per minute, not the USD volume:

Doge ~20-25
Bitcoin ~60-70
Litecoin ~5-10
411  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analysis never ends on: October 10, 2014, 03:16:40 PM
Shouldn't it test this year's new low at below $300 for the second time? It certainly feels like it's poised to do just that in a couple of weeks.
412  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices began back to rise, which is struggling before dying? on: October 10, 2014, 01:50:12 PM
The trolls are restless.

Oh sorry, I forgot that if you don't constantly shout 'to the moon! buy buy!' you're automatically a troll Smiley
413  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin prices began back to rise, which is struggling before dying? on: October 10, 2014, 01:38:04 PM
I believe OP suggests this recent rise from $300 is a dead cat bounce. I do not take this pessimistic view. Bitcoin is struggling at low levels now, it's start of a slow recovery.

It has to test the new low at least twice though. Even if it holds, the price would still have to test it, that is, go below $300 again before it starts to rise.
414  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-09-18] Bitcoin Core Developer Jeff Garzik Believes NXT is a “Scamcoin” on: October 10, 2014, 01:31:59 PM
Please stop taking my statements out of context.

Your statements only apply in limited context then? How is that not hypocritical? Isn't the burden of proof on the shoulders of one who makes accusations?
415  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The time of Dogecoin is nigh on: October 10, 2014, 01:15:19 PM
Dogecoin has perfect supply. Noone would want to feel themselves a loser with 0.01 Bitcoin in the future, because they can't afford to purchase more should Bitcoin rise to $5-$10k or whatever high prices are predicted. Why do you think people buy fancy phones/cars/whatever if the cheaper ones can do the same? It's all about psychology and not feeling yourself a loser. Well, Dogecoin appeals to one's self-importance, Bitcoin does the opposite. Between these two PoW cryptos I bet on Dogecoin.
416  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has reached the tipping point on: October 10, 2014, 09:11:59 AM
You think if BTC falls below 100$ it will ever recover to the previous highs?

There is no reason why it should recover if it falls that low. It would mean the Proof-of-Work mechanism is very close to its death. The fiat leak from the mining network is too large, users can't sustain the network for a long time. PoW is unsustainable in the long run. The bitcoin core is highly unlikely to add new features. New technologies are taking over, this is a process of years, not months, don't fall for short term hype and dead-cat rebounds. I expect a rebound when the next block reward reduction takes place in (~1-2 years? can anyone remind when that is to happen?), but that is also just a technical blip.
417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The time of Dogecoin is nigh on: October 10, 2014, 09:04:21 AM
+1

Dogecoin will overtake Litecoin's market cap in the next 6 months.
418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has reached the tipping point on: October 09, 2014, 07:38:20 PM
The current dead-cat bounce has run out of steam. Prepare for a repeat of testing the lows of below $300 ~at the end of October. The next halvening of block rewards is still a long way to go, a lot of inflation is going to hit the Bitcoin ecosystem between now and then, which is reflected in the price.

Bluemeanie, give the stolen money back to the NXT community, fuck face!
