261  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Aliexpress - Deal or no Deal? on: January 13, 2014, 06:06:09 PM

BTW i bought two cheap fake miners yesterday while drunk, then had a strong and logically motivated remorse and this morning i claimed mastercard asking for chargeback because of "mistakenly hitting the buy button" (it is in the list of allowed motivations for asking a chargeback)

lol

imo - you have to do some DD... a lot of the "too good to be true" sellers have pictures watermarked from other people's stores... compare the "store number" on the pics to the actual store number of the user..

Some will even post fake pictures of feedback... if someone has zero feedback, that is a red flag.. esp if the price is super low.

I've also noticed sellers will also bump up the "weight" on a product to collect even more for "shipping and handling"...

265  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: January 12, 2014, 05:37:18 PM
Why the increase to 2.65?    2.4 is where it should be right now... possibly lower for previous customers.

The price is right but these are very inefficient units.  Like the old avalons.  I mean 2x 600w.  Almost as bad a Asic miner blades (which I still run but at a flat fee in a data center).  Antminer has them beat solidly if they lower their prices.

Is there a V2 for the 200GH?  If so - what is the diff between it and a V1?

Also - shipping included?  (just to confirm)

Any updates on pricing?

I would like some ASUS R9280X-DC2T-3GD5/3G DDR5/28.5cm if the pricing was right
272  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s - In Stock BTC 2.4 on: January 10, 2014, 10:43:13 PM
Well I have one box they said will ship out tomorrow - crossing my fingers!

When I get it I can provide pictures of it vs ANTMINER.    Antminers are only about the dimensions of two power supplies and draw ~410W from the wall for 200GH.  From the pics it is obvious BTMine's box is going to be massive in comparison.  The power supplies included seem to be 600W and rather cheap (dual rail? ugh)...  So that is why I figured any quality >50A supply would do (I've been buying Corsair 650W off eBay for $40 as I alluded to earlier)  I also have a wattmeter and plan to get actual draw of the BTMine box as soon as it arrives...

Yeah, I want an antminer or 2 ... really bad, they look awesome but at 3btc ... cant justify the price vs these rigs unfortunately =/
Only benefit of antminer would be for people that pay tons in power costs I guess...

Yeah - Bitmain/Sushi will have to step up their game soon
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Primecoin GPU miner private sale on: January 10, 2014, 08:06:44 PM
first copy has been sold, transaction has confirmed at my address, the buyer wish to remain anonymous.

Why wouldn't you urge the "buyer" to vet/confirm on here for your sake?

I did, but the buyer do not wish to reveal his identity here.

shocker

276  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Noise fans from Avalons, any ideas of cooling and bringing the noise down on: January 10, 2014, 12:41:22 AM
Hi,

I received two Avalons from Chine this week. Put them in my basement next to my KNC and started mining.
Only problem is, compared to the KNC they are very noisy. Can hear them up till the first floor bedroom.

I can tell, the wife is not happy. Angry

To keep my machines running I was thinking of cooling them another way so the fans run slower reducing the noise level.

Has anybody any good ideas of is there a working solution?
I was checking out gpu water coolers, they might do the trick.

Thx in advance

Yeah I have an idea...why dont you locate your balls, put them back in your sack and tell your wife to cook you some dinner. That poor schmuck that thru his hard drive away with 10 million in bitcoins stopped mining because his wife complained too. Some poor bastard i bought my avalon from sold it to me and all of his bitcoins for 100$ each in september because his wife was bitching. So if I were you, Id tell your wife to fuckin deal with it or you will find someone who will...best free advice youll ever get

lmao

1)  We're still fixing all of our site links, kinks/issues, etc.
2)  Our board is voting on whether to keep, remove, or replace the ads.
3)  We are also working on our own escrow system, so PayPal won't be the only option.
4)  Our Offices are located in Manassas, Virginia.  We have all hardware in our building with us, so there are less mix-ups.

Thanks for your constructive feedback!

280  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Here's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at your Monarch! on: January 09, 2014, 03:39:14 AM
This is going to be quite entertaining.

In about 3 months the announcement that the cards will come with free cooling blocks, filled with liquid nitrogen immersed in dry ice.

With a warning that if you turn off the cooling before you turn off the Monarch, the card will turn to lava and burn through to the core of the earth.

Thus buyers should watch - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0298814/ - The Core
