"Helium shortage: Doctors are worried that running out of the element could threaten MRIs ..."
Now we had helium filled hdds for quite a few years while knowing eventually we won't be able to build new MRI's
WTF
or is it bs and liquid nitrogen would work as it is around -340f vs liquid helium which is around -450f
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOy8Xjaa_o8Long story short, don't start worrying yet. Liquid N2 doesn't work for the superconductors used in MRIs though there's constant work on higher-temperature superconductors. Liquid N2 is used to help insulate the liquid helium as it's a whole lot cheaper (cheaper than milk I was told and probably even moreso now).

With inflation (USD and other world currencies) like it is, we've actually been in slow decline for a while.

May as well shove this guy in there. Ooh, Betty.

My feeling is that the longer we stay here, the bigger the coming change in direction will be. UP/DOWN?
Long periods of stability have typically lead to up in the long term. Things are a bit weird now though. Next halvening is predicted for March 2024 so a long time until things start getting interesting unless external events drive things.

At $5.79 I do not know what to do when I shop tommorrow.
Chickens? Jam them in with your mining equipment.

My horse riding days are behind me. Getting older and don't want to risk a Christopher Reeve kinda situation. Safer to drive around the property on a 4 wheeler John Deere Gator. So are you more of an Ozzy Osbourne or Rik Mayall kind of guy? (Edit: Saw the pic you posted so withdraw the sentiment but I'm leaving it up anyway).

Pumping on this latest bullish news? See what you did now?

En large they seem to be communists with the "morally right" agenda, so they don't value free democratic processes that go against their ideology. They work with propaganda and prefer dictatorial measures
The usual watermelon authoritarian BS.

Sorry if i spam the WO with a few questions about (c-word) -mining in the near future My biggest concern rn is that the mining would be interrupted on a daily basis, at times the sun doesn't shine. I know, this is more or less a battery-size problem, but i will first have to wait a whlle for restocked battery hardware, while the PV should be up and running already. Yes, definitely an issue that you won't be able to amortize your equipment costs over periods when the sun doesn't shine. Especially as it tends to go obsolete so quickly.

But I think he is also slave to his inner demons... Reminds me of an actor who can only play certain roles that are close to his natural character...
Here's the thing though, he's a conman through-and-through and he knows that if he genuinely loses control, there's a good chance he'll say something he that would blow things. Though admittedly, he's made so many blunders that his followers pretty much amount to a cult by now.

I find it most entertaining when his idiotic mega ego takes full possession of him and he gets angry with everyone, strutting around like a moronic rooster
Don't be mistaken, everything is an act with this guy. If there's shouting, it's because he's hoping people will mistake it for authenticity and sincerity.

Feeling good being above 21k again. What caused this sudden pump i wonder?
Is it just a move to liquidate those shorts or is it the real deal?
Manipulator either done accumulating or not willing to fight the up-pressure.

Same old "smack the price down a few times to demoralize those who might push it back up then accumulate at a discount" play, methinks.

Nice. Soon enough we wont even need an imagination. Perfect. It can just flash up pictures of the various food items and you can bang your head on the table when something you like the look of pops up.

I'm not aware of alternatives on (or near) par with archive.org. Would you please share them?
May not be "on par" but I think archive.today and archive.is are a couple I've heard of. (Edit: Oops. It's the same picture).

Thanks for the link. While I dont see the problem with this particular piece of information not being archived I'm still not happy about the precedent this set. Especially since these sort of things typically tend to encroach more and more. I'd wish they'd just backup everything (especially text) and reside in a jurisdiction where they can.
Precisely. It's not about the data itself (though one wonders what they are hiding*), more whether you're comfortable with the line that has been crossed. It's very damaging to trust, especially having seen how things play out in the current climate. *From what I understand, she has a familial connection (niece) with the person who runs archive.org. It's worth noting that there are alternatives but one should always be vigilant.

Is it still night anywhere in the world?
Uh...

If you want to give to charity consider archive.org . It preserves history making it harder to rewrite history as one desires.
archive.org has been caught removing archives recently so you may want to pick another.
