261  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Samsung confirms they’re developing ASIC’s on: March 09, 2018, 05:10:27 PM
I'm more inclined to believe that it is YET ANOTHER article about cryptocoin mining where the writer didn't know what they are writing about and DID NOT FACT CHECK before they posted it.
Occam's razor, yanno?

There is possibility that you are correct about writer's knowledge , I will not deny that. Note from the bottom of article made me question writer's knowledge of crypto. But I still believe that what I wrote is logical and possible. So I guess, maybe both of us is right in this case.

Probably it makes sense to constantly monitor the capitalization of different times and only after certain measurements to choose what to choose.

I'm sorry, but you answer doesn't help much. Even if you follow everything that is going on in crypto world (which is impossible), you would not be able to predict what is going to happen... in almost every situation that is.
Which measurements are you proposing? How would you chose which coin is most profitable to mine? Be a bit more specific this time, if possible.
263  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Samsung confirms they’re developing ASIC’s on: March 09, 2018, 02:10:04 PM
It says Samsung makes GPUs that are used in mining - the only GPUs they make are the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 ti models, which are VERY little used in mining due to bad efficiency, and the GTX 1030 which isn't used in mining at all AFAIK.

Low efficiency for mining doesn't change the fact that those GPU's could be used for mining also. Mainly, they make chips for GPU's for computers, but they could be also used for mining. It doesn't say that they are used for mining only.

It says that ASIC are used for ETH mining- which is COMPLETELY WRONG at this point.
 Among others I noticed.

There is possibility that they are making ASIC miners that could be used for ETH mining, it is not impossible. If something is not done before, it doesn't mean it is impossible.

Innosilicon never made any sort of a "dual algorithm" chip, the ONLY folks that ever did that was Gridseed and their offspring SFARDS - and the algos were SHA256 and Scrypt, no ETH in there at all.

As I said before, if something is not done before it doesn't mean its impossible. I don't understand why there couldn't be dual algorithm chip that could do both SHA256 and Ethash. Also maybe they will insert two separated chips that would be dedicated for one algorithm only. That way you could have one ASIC miner for two or more algorithms. They didn't specify "how" they'r going to make ASIC miner that could do what they say it do. We need to wait and see I guess.
264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I'm mining for 4 days. on: March 08, 2018, 08:09:42 PM
~ I'm mining the zcash with the console using nanopool for mine, but today 03/08/2018 I'm trying miningpoolhub and I'm liking the result. It seems like I'm mining faster than nanopool

It is ok to change pools and trying to find the right one. So as long as your happy with you pool choice, everything's ok.

one thing I'm seeing, when I started mining zcash it was $ 430 and bitcoin was $ 11200 and now zcash is $ 320 and bitcoin is $ 9600, is this normal? to descend so much? Is it still advantageous to continue mining? I'm afraid that the coin I'm mining (zcash) will die

Fluctuation of cryptocurrency prices is normal thing, you will get used to it in time. This are hard times for miners, but if you are already in it I guess you should continue and try to make profit out of it.
If you are convinced that zcash is going to die, than consider possibility of selling your savings and move to different coin. But don't let your emotions cloud your judgement, think carefully before any decision.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Altcoins on: March 08, 2018, 02:48:08 PM
I, too, recently have been thinking about mining farm. As a diversification. There are people who advise mine ether and zec, but what do you advise?

Only advice that I could give to you and other people, is to stay away from mining for now. Profitability of mining has fallen drastically, also prices of GPU's are too high. You would need large investment for start, and not to mention rising in mining difficulty. So for now you should stay put and observe.
266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Altcoins on: March 08, 2018, 11:09:37 AM
I've got Sapphire RX 550  I mined Zcash and Bitcoin but i need tips about NEW altcoins to mine and how to find   the most promising. Thanks a lot!

Check out WhatToMine and CoinWarz . Those are two sites where you could check profitability of coins, and find out which one would be best for you to mine. There are other settings, which could show you how much you could mine with your GPU. Hope this helps you.
267  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: projects on starting , the partners needed ? on: March 07, 2018, 10:55:26 PM
Reputation is important thing, and having someone with good reputation in your team could help a lot. If you don't, well don't worry. You need to start from somewhere, right.
I guess that you could start building your reputation from here. There's a lot of people on the forum who deal's in your kind of business. So I guess it will not be hard finding them. Also maybe you should consider launching signature campaign, they help a lot on marketing end. I guess you will find something useful here. Also consider checking Marketplace\Gambling section, maybe you will find something useful there too.

Wish you best of luck in the future.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Altcoins on: March 07, 2018, 10:43:38 PM
Ethereum would be my first choice. Guess I don't need to explain why its my first choice. Other alts for me would be: PXC, UBQ, FTC... this are just some I mined. Also, this is only my opinion and I made mistakes in the past  Grin . Would like to hear what other people think.
269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New dinasty coin mining pool on: March 07, 2018, 10:35:45 PM
Thanks, I'll check it out. Also this monthly contest sounds interesting. Can you tell me more about them, how does it works and what are rewards? How long have you been using this pool, or are you the owner?

Also you should consider moving this topic to Pools(Altcoins) thread, because that is place for mining pools.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Urgent HELP Selecting Hardware (PSU) on: March 07, 2018, 10:19:38 PM
I can't find any reputable server psu brand except HP. Most of them are Chinese. Also it looks more risky as it will be my first rig and not many people are using them for small scale.

I think I will buy 2*650W or 2*750 for my my 8*1070 rig (5 cards now + 3 later down the road).

Or maybe a 1000W for my first 5 cards and later an additional 450W when I add 3 more cards.

Any PSU over 1000W looks very costly.

There is also this cable problem which looks very confusing to me.

2*750W PSU should be just fine. But have in mind that you will need 8-pin PCI-E connector for every GPU. One question tho, are you planing to have only 8 GPU's? If not, maybe 1000W would be better choice to start with.

EDIT: 1000W+ PSU are costly yes, but in some cases its money wisely spend. Sometime its better to pay a bit more, because you will get a lot more in return. Think about what you want and think in advance.
271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: H81 MB - Which molex cable ? on: March 07, 2018, 10:10:59 PM
Ok. Some are saying that even if we have powered risers we have to connect the 4 pin molex...

I will try your way and O hope that I will not get any trouble...

Its like CryptoWatcher420 said, as long as you are using powered risers you should be fine. But if you are not using them, in that case you should plug in that 4pin molex. I don't have that board, but I have done some research, and I can confirm that the information you got are correct.
272  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The english language improvement thread on: March 07, 2018, 09:43:26 PM
Some time ago, one member of this forum told me that my English is barely above minimum for understanding. That was hard blow for me, because I thought that my skill of speaking and writing it, is average and understandable. That made me think, and I came to a conclusion that improving is important no matter how much you think you know. Also, what helped me a lot in improving my posts, was reading them before posting.

I really like the idea of this topic, and I know how hard it can be for people for whom English is secondary language. Opinion of native English speakers is really important. But more important is, personal will and desire for improvement.

@Jet Cash, sorry it was not about Bitcoin like you said in OP, but I needed your opinion.
273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Urgent HELP Selecting Hardware (PSU) on: March 07, 2018, 09:01:26 PM
I have 4 x GTX 1070 on my rig with two PSU of 750W (80% plus certificate), and everything works fine. But for 5 cards you would need some PSU that have five 8-pin connectors, or 2 x PSU's that have more than two 8-pin connectors. You don't want your PUS's to overload, seen that happen, its bad. Those five cards would need around 750W + other components, so I guess that you would need PSU of at least 1000W (with good power certificate).

About CPU... you don't need anything fancy, some basic CPU would be just fine. Because it will work only for OS and other programs, nothing extreme. I have some Intel Celeron CPU, not sure which exactly.

If I were you, I would go for SSD. Its faster and its more practical. I have SSD in my rig, and it was not wasted investment.
274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help choosing GPU on: March 06, 2018, 09:46:54 PM
I am also looking for good ROI rig and I am thinking about GTX 1050 TI. Those are 4 gigs and are really cheap price compare to others...

Yes, GTX 1050 Ti is not so bad. I mean you would be able to make some profit with it. But honestly there is a reason why its cheaper. Those GPU's that OP posted are better, a lot better. Yes their prices are higher, but you will get a lot more than with cheaper ones. Eventually you will understand that most of the time, it will pay off if you buy better GPU's for mining.
275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's March. Where is the march of the altcoins? on: March 06, 2018, 05:47:14 PM
There are low chances for another rise, like the one in 2017. But that doesn't mean that similar thing could not happen again. Time for regulations are coming, countries will need to decide what to do with crypto. News reports about it, people know that regulations are coming, sooner or later. So if countries decisions are favorable for crypto, that could create another jump in prices.

~ a lot of altcoins are going to die.

Of course some of altcoins are going to die, in time only good ones will survive. That is nothing new for crypto market.
276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help choosing GPU on: March 06, 2018, 05:24:51 PM
Thanks for the suggestion guys. After doing some more research, I think ASUS Strix RX 570 4gb is the way to go but still not sure.
Some say that hashrate difference between RX570 4gb and GTX 1070 is not that big. As I said I want the fastest ROI.
GTX 1060 6gb is reasonably priced too.

Also I think 4gb is not big problem because I can also upgrade by the time dag crosses 4gb and there are other coins to mine too. I have seen mixed opinion on this one, some say that before dag crosses 4gb etherium will go pos.

I would always suggest going for nVidia's GTX 1070. It has good hash rate, and it have wider mining possibilities when we talk about different algorithms. I use GTX 1070 for my rig, but RX 570 are also good choice I guess. Personally, I would always go for nVidia GPU's. And yes, I would agree with you that price for GTX 1060 6gb is reasonable.
277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Development in Crypto regulations Globally. on: March 05, 2018, 09:02:45 PM
Cryptocurrencies have really strong support all over the world. So regulations had to come sooner or later. I think that regulations are good for people who use crypto and for crypto itself. People will know for sure where their countries stands regarding crypto. Also total legalization of crypto would mean more places which accept it. Overall, it is good that countries think and speak about this. As for China, they will come along eventually.
278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gpu0 0 Hashrate After Windows 10 Creators Update on: March 05, 2018, 08:48:27 PM
Looks like this may be an issue specific to Win 10 so the current alternatives would be to install Win 7/8 or Linux, does anyone have any other ideas to avoid this?
Nop, its not problem with Win 10. I have Win 10 on my rig with few GPU's , and I never had that kind of problem. But I have Nvidia cards. What Geraldo said is only explanation, and I'm interested if this have solved OP's problem. If same thing happens to me, I would like to know how to solve it.
279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What should i know for mining? on: March 05, 2018, 04:35:25 PM
First thing you should do, is learn everything you can about mining and how it all works. Next thing you should do is calculate and see if it will be profitable for you to mine with GPU, and which GPU you would need for making profit. Electricity is important factor in mining, because if your bills are higher than your income... well that's bad thing.
When you have done that, next thing would be finding good coin to mine. Some basic information about profitability of coins you can find on WhatToMine and CoinWarz.
After that you will need certain mining software, but that depends on which coin you want to mine. Also know that solo mining doesn't pay off, unless you have some serious mining rig. So you would need to find some mining pool.

This are some basic things that comes to my mind at this moment, if you have more questions just ask.
280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to join a project on: March 05, 2018, 01:45:37 PM
This is Bitcoin Discussion thread. So you should move your topic to Marketplace\Services , that is thread for buying and selling services. You will find more projects and people there, who would be more interested in what you have to offer. Good luck.
