2623  Economy / Economics / Re: Paypal CEO admitted war against cash on: February 16, 2017, 06:48:52 AM
"admitted" is an odd choice of words. Here is another quote to add some perspective:

Fintech, or financial technology, is a type of financial service like PayPal, bitcoin and Venmo, where transactions are digitized and, according to Schulman, cheaper, because they are not subject to fees that often come with cashing checks or transferring money in person.

There is a war against cash that is designed to give government and banks more control over your wealth.

And then there is the war against cash that is designed to give people a better alternative to pieces of paper, such as Bitcoin.

I don't think bitcoin runs contrary to cash, the only problem of cash is that is part of the fiat system, of money issued by central banks that is not backed by anything, bitcoin it is not issued by governments and controlled by them so it give to us even more freedom than cash.
2624  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do you plan to sell? on: February 16, 2017, 06:44:57 AM
There is no reason to sell if you see BTC as anything close to a legitimate currency in the future. Even if you think it is only accepted by 'the interent generation' you need to realize that in 10-15 years those people will be ones making the decisions. Seeing as it's market cap is still relatively low and the fact there is a 21M maximum, for it to become a legitimate currency it would have to grow into tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of dollars per BTC.
Bitcoin is a legitimate currency as long as it has some value, the value does not need to reach such high prices, but it is obvious that if a wider audience decides to adopt bitcoin that will make the prices to raise but that is pure demand and nothing else.
2625  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Internet Marketing on: February 16, 2017, 06:42:17 AM
Internet marketing is a business. It requires money to invest and expertise. Making profit from internet marketing is very difficult if you don't have enough capital and expertise. If you are newbie with money to invest you may look for a reliable partner who will put expertise. If you are an expert you may look for a reliable partner who will put money. This is how business world works.
That could work, but to find partners you can trust can be very difficult, if we take into account that most want to obtain big profits out of an internet business, then the best idea is to do everything for yourself so you don't have to split your earnings.
2626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: February 16, 2017, 06:39:53 AM
First download and watch "revolution" a TV series, then you'll understand that only way for demise of bitcoin is lack of electricity, with more than 7B people be assured that the demand and support will always be here.
Q-In what situation we'll no longer need to drink water to stay alive?
A-When we find a replacement for water.

There will be no need to find any replacement for bitcoin because it has the potentials and flexibility to be whatever we want it to be.
So the only scenario for the failure of btc is the nanobots preventing the current of electricity Cheesy.
Maybe we will run out of fossil fuel while that wont stop the production of electricity completely it could stop the expansion of bitcoin since we will be left only with renewable sources to fulfill our needs.
2627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: February 16, 2017, 06:37:25 AM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.
Things are difficult to explain if you don’t know what you are talking about, even some of the most complex subjects in math can be explained with everyday examples.
2628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: February 10, 2017, 03:48:29 AM
I think our biggest challenge is not to explain bitcoin to children and teenagers I’m sure they are going to understand it without too much trouble, the problem is how do we explain bitcoin to those that can take decision with their money like adults.
2629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: February 10, 2017, 03:47:04 AM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?
The only way for bitcoin to die in my opinion is by total collapse of civilization in a wold wide scale, anything less than that will allow bitcoin to continue on existing no matter what happens.
2630  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Internet Marketing on: February 10, 2017, 03:40:21 AM
Marketing a product is very easy in today's competitive world because internet is widely spread through out the world, before you need to learn some basics about marketing your product in internet either through social media are through landing pages, are through blogs, are through website. You can choose any one of the above every thing will be effective if you are committed.
Marketing a product is truly a hard task, because regularly lots of products have been coming into the market. Internet marketing has made it easy, as we can make the product reach the user in a short.

Yes, nowdays internet marketing is easy for selling your product but only if you have enough money for that. For example, seo is simetimes luck because someone gets easily ranked without backlinks and someone is paying much for backlinks but can't to rank well. Similar is about product selling, for example some sellers are offering products for free on amazon in exchange of good review. You need money and time and you'll see good result.
When it comes to getting large numbers of people to know your product or service, market costs are usually high. However, if the service really has quality, and if people really need it, then the marketing costs may not need to be too high, since the people themselves would use and recommend your service or product to others.
It depends on the marketing campaign you are running if you are paying for ads that can be very expensive, I on the other hand you are relying on organic growth of awareness of your service your cost are going to be way lower but the speed of that organic grow can be very slow.
2631  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do you plan to sell? on: February 10, 2017, 03:36:04 AM
The price has dropped significantly, currently, the price is at $960+ and I am still not in panic to sell. I have seen this many times, it has been stable to that price and probably not gonna continue to drop. If it will went to at $900 then maybe I will decide to sell for a little profit, but I doubt it will fall that hard though.
There is no point in panicking and selling at a bad price, I think it is better to just try to maximize your earnings and if that means not cashing out your coins for quite some time so be it, it is just better to wait for the price to reach the 1000 mark once again.
2632  Economy / Economics / Re: First investments in bitcoins on: February 10, 2017, 03:33:25 AM
Hi everybody, I am quite new in this new market and have a lot of interest in it. After advices from friends, i have put some money in Ethereum by the fact that i like their project which has a global view on the world. Moreover, i have also put some money in Monero.

Now, i am confused to invest in the long run for some bitcoins. Why ? Because prices are already really high but after reading a lot analysis, predictions are quite high.
What do you think about investment in some bitcoins at this high Price ? Thanks guys

Well i think it would've been better if you were a bit early in your btc investment. even me, i'd be thinking really hard right now to puchase bitcoins with the price this high. i still have a lot of btcs i'm holding on right now and i don't think i'm that confident on buying btcs. i think i'll just hold on to what i currently have and then wait a couple of months as i'm sure the price would go down also. if you ask me, i won't be buying any bitcoins at the moment, try to focus on other altcoins first as i think now is selling or holding time
There are moments to buy, to hold or to sell, right now it seems it is a good time to just hold our coins or if you need to sell, the price is just to high right now if you are planning to get some profits fast, I will only recommend buying if you are planning to hold for several years.
2633  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How Does Someone Compete With Poloniex? on: February 09, 2017, 04:01:29 AM
I would go in a completely different direction. Their service is very good and reputable, hard to compete with them. I think this exchange market is already very saturated, better to try another business.
Crypto currency world is a vast world undiscovered yet, many options and possibilities of new creations and ideas. The success is in the new, original, if you create your own business based in your own idea the success will be higher.
This, unless you can create something a lot more efficient than the competition then the best thing to become a success is to create a product or service people will want and that it does not exist yet or to create something similar but with a new twist that makes your service or product unique.
2634  Economy / Securities / Re: First time investment on: February 09, 2017, 03:57:56 AM
I just opened my eyes to Bitcoin mining, I save up 80$ every month and was thinking maybe investing them in bitcoins wouldn't be that bad an idea? Whats your thoughts on this, what should a first timer know?
Investing in a mining operation at this point in time is a very complex decision not to be made by a newbie and not with 80 bucks a month, but buying some bitcoin or some well established altcoin is a good decision although any earnings are going to be low.
2635  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When do you plan to sell? on: February 09, 2017, 03:55:55 AM
I will not sell for small gains if I ever going to sell it is going to be because bitcoin gained a tremendous amount of value and it will be a mistake to not do so, I plan to hold until I’m really old probably until my sixties or seventies.
2636  Economy / Economics / Re: First investments in bitcoins on: February 09, 2017, 03:53:53 AM
You invested in Monero and Ethereum over Bitcoin? Your friends really mush have love these coins, because it is not the best way to locate your money.
Monero was growing rapidly and price was rising as a result, but it will end, as long as Monero will continue to grow it will call attention from authorities.
There is no way that fully anonymous coin will be used as payment method in the future, the bigger monero will grow - the harder it will fall destroyed by future legal issues.
It will be forever main currency of dark markets which will limit its potential to grow.

But since monero solves a very specific issue that bitcoin does not then it means there is going to be a market for it, no matter what happens, besides the anonymity given by monero can be used not only for those that want to hide shady deals but by everyone since many exchanges are refusing to accept coins that come from gambling and monero does not allow them to do that.
2637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: February 09, 2017, 03:47:39 AM
Now that there is less hype about china controlling bitcoin
I think 2017 will be the year we see an all time high as we have more people than ever getting on board and probably have more countries endorse the use of it as political grounds crash down and will be crawling to bitcoin for redemption.
Countries will prefer to send the whole country to total poverty than to accept bitcoin, they will prefer to keep printing their own currency than to accept bitcoin and let the country prosper under a currency they don't control.

The best thing to do as an investor is to wait the right timing, right now it does not seem like the best moment to buy unless you are really thinking of holding your bitcoin for a long time and you don't care about rapid profits.
2639  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anonymity? on: February 04, 2017, 03:12:06 AM
I hear people talking about anonymity with various currencies, eg Monero, or DASH, but as most people seem to use exchanges, there really isn't any anonymity, because the exchange presumably knows each person's identity and therefore has a record of all transactions, whether they be for bitcoin, or any other "anonymous" currency. Is this right? It would seem that anonymity is a function of the exchange and not the currency (granted there are differences in currencies that impact anonymity as well).

If the above is true, are there any legitimate (I know this is subjective) exchanges that do not keep identities of their customers? I have heard of local meetups, but that does not seem very convenient and there are trust issues.
Anonymity is eroding in the world and it is not a surprise the same is happening in the world of crypto but like always it depends on how anonymous you want to be, you could buy some bitcoin in an exchange and verify your identity  and then you could tumble your coins at that point no one knows those are your coins but someone looking at your transaction knows you bought some bitcoin.
2640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: current cost of a pizza in bitcoins <.036086 on: February 04, 2017, 03:07:33 AM
Granted, 'the pizza' was an important milestone (sort of) at the time, on bitcoin's history But,
Personally, whenever I think about that transaction or reminded of it, makes me cringe. I imagine how I would feel if that was me.

Anyway, it could happen to us as well. We could be spending and 'gladly' paying 50's or 100's of mbtc's for pizzas or games now, but today's btc value could be multiplied by 100's in time.

I do wonder what was the very first physical goods bought with Bitcoin.

Correct that is why we must save as much bitcoin as possible since in the future we do not know the value it could reach, while we are having a good time commenting about the famous pizza transaction may be in the future we will talk about the bitcoin we spent in something we did not need and that will be worth a lot in the future.
