2001  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this for real? I could be a millionaire? on: September 02, 2017, 03:37:36 AM
Wow this is an amazing story! If that happens to me, i would stop using bitcoin and just withdraw to fiat... Just build some flats or houses, rent them and you are finished, you can make your retirement instantly.
Such a bad luck.. I had a story like that a few years ago.. but obviously not with that amoun, i had 1 btc that i bought at $300 each, and i sold it at $330, i was so stupid i think.

My heart ached after reading your comment honestly. You spend 300 dollars to buy a bitcoins and then sold for 330 dollars. Apparently, you were not in a need of money. It looks like you didn't consider bitcoins worthy to hold. It’s useless to cry over spilt milk. You still have the chance to earn bitcoins.
You are still on time, but bitcoin now is close to the 5000 and it shows not a single sign that is going to stop, so the most important thing is to hold your bitcoin and do not let go no matter what happens, and do everything in your power to raise even more bitcoin, earning a bitcoin was already hard enough with a price of 500 dollars and now bitcoin is ten times above that, so it is ten times harder to get a single bitcoin.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many Bitcoins needed for martingale on: September 02, 2017, 03:07:55 AM
I do not recommend this martingale method, the return or the profit is too small compared to what you can afford to lose, you can lose all of your balance in matter of minutes just to win about 5% of your entire balance, theres better methods out there but I never liked this martingale one. Good luck if you decide otherwise.
The martingale method is very bad because the more money you bet the greater you are affected by the house edge, if the house edge is 2% and your average bet is 0.001BTC then supposing you make 10 bets every minute then you are going to lose 0.002 BTC on average  every ten minutes but with martingale your average bet is going to go through the roof and with it your losses.

Well martingale can be good if you only have an unlimited bankroll because the game cannot keep bringing a single outcome throughout the day it will definitely change its lines and so if you have s lot of money that you can be doubling after every loss then martingale will work for you else just forget about it because you can get bankrupt along the way.
But that is exactly the problem not even the richest person in the world has an infinite bankroll and even if you had millions of dollars to spare, the casino is going to put a limit to how much you are allowed to bet so at the end martingale like most gambling systems is not able to bring you profits which is understandable since the odds are against you from the beginning.
2003  Economy / Economics / Re: New rich people thanks to BTC on: September 01, 2017, 02:45:29 AM
Imagine how many people got veryy rich from Bitcoin and crypto so far. Definitely lots... I would say thousands. However, it is unlikely that even thousands got extremely rich (I mean multi-millionaires) because most people did not believe in Bitcoin strongly enough to bite the bullet and buy it when it was worth very little. Myself included... ugh.

There are so many ways to get rich, so it's not important to get rich from what is important, the way we get rich and reach out. There are some wealthy people through luck, but also so many rich people because of their ability. Try to do well.
The issue is that we cannot depend on our luck to become wealthy if luck comes your way then that is fine but we need to do our best to increase our ability and through that to try to make as much money as possible, and it is obvious that in a forum such as this that many people are thinking on using bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to try to become wealthy themselves.
2004  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 ICO ANNOUNCE 15 AUG 2017! JOIN THE TRANSFORMATION! 🎰🎰🎰 on: September 01, 2017, 02:42:53 AM
yeah my bad, it is at $8.6 mil already. Should punch through the $10 mil easy  Cool
Yeah almost at USD $9,254,059.00 already!

how join ? end ?
You can still join the ICO,the sooner you join, the better bonuses.ICO ends on 15th September. You can visit the following link to become a part of the ICO : https://ico.bitdice.me/en/

What's the final best guess?! $15 mil? $20 mil? ...?

Maybe it will be nice to create a small..."guess contest" about this! Grin
I'm sure that Bitdice fans and supporters will be excited with such contest... Tongue

It is a gambling site after-all!

In all seriousness at nearly $10 mil and growing there has to be some exchange that wants to list it!
Getting listed on an exchange is not only a matter of how big is your market cap, it’s also a issue of your connections with some of the owners of those exchanges and it also has to do with their own policies, if I remember correctly there are some exchanges that are very careful with coins that give dividends or anything similar to that, however since the BitDice Casino is well established I’m sure they will make an exception to this.
2005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term HODL Cryptos on: September 01, 2017, 02:33:39 AM
What do you think about Ark? Good coin for long term holding??

I think ARK is a decent position to own so long as you own other emerging platforms with similar functionality like SYS, SHIFT and or XBY. Its very hard to pick winners in sub sectors of crypto and predict who will gain market share, especially with emerging crypto coins. So its quite possible these hybrid currency / file system / storage coins take off, but you pick the wrong horse and the sector takes off without you leaving you bag holding at the start line.

Essentially you are investing in publicly traded venture capital so I feel its best to be diversified. For the record I have positions in all four I just mentioned with heavier weights in XBY and SHIFT. ARK is already at $179M market cap as of todays date so its hard to get more than a 5 bagger out of it.
This, it is very tempting to try to pick the winner among several coins but if there are several coins that roughly perform the same function the best thing you can do is to buy all of those coins instead of just one, that way you minimize the possibility of losing money, of course this will lower your earnings as well in the case you only invested in the coin with the best performance but that is life.
2006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: August 29, 2017, 04:28:35 AM
Ransom virus has made bitcoin popular among the rest of the world and still there are lot of people who has no idea about what bitcoins are and there are even fake apps to mislead them. only some of my friends and family members have idea about bitcoins in our locality as one of my family member was already  dealing with these cryptocurrency
The ransom virus did not make bitcoin famous it made it infamous and the same we can say about silk road and all of those dark net markets now we need to make bitcoin famous, to be associated with things that people approve and that are not crimes or morally objectionable topics and I think investing and trading are going to be the key for bitcoin to become famous.
2007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next 100x-1000x coin? on: August 29, 2017, 04:25:54 AM
Monero of course will rise 100x-1000x.  A mass used cryptocurrency should and must first of all be anonymous. Otherwise it is a state, corporate or small group of people scam or market/people control technique.

It would surpass BTC if so, I doubt it
True, monero is a solid coin and it is a good investment for anyone interested in crypto but monero has some issues the most important is that it does not scale, if you think bitcoin has scaling problems then monero makes bitcoin look like a spaceship against a car, monero is a niche coin only for those that their primary focus is on anonymity.
2008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe the FBI holds the biggest number of bitcoin? on: August 29, 2017, 04:22:10 AM
Do you believe the FBI holds the biggest number of bitcoin?

How would we know?  How certain are they?  We can't tell because nobody/no one would say how many bitcoins he/she has on his/her hands Tongue
I do believe that government do really have some decent amounts of Bitcoin on their hands.Remembering on the site that they have seized back in the past on which they do have confiscated or make hold of those bitcoins and im sure until now they do have the power or the holdings of those coins. Government wont just be blind on bitcoins progress and they would definitely go with the flow as long theres money involved on it.
Governments are not innovators they only redistribute the money, so they charge taxes and then they pay someone to do something for them, that is they way it works, If bitcoin begins to challenge their power I think they are going to take the easiest approach they are going to join the crypto market and each one of the governments of the world are going to issue their own crypto.
2009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: August 29, 2017, 04:17:45 AM
I think if bitcoin advertise on t.v . a lot of people use this and bitcoin become famous .becuase of this continious value  is increasing many people persuade to use this .and i think many people become rich someday .
Nowadays, people use internet more than television. We need to introduce BTCs to the new brains more than the old generation. The youth should be aware of BTCs to become successful and rich. Still we have people who use radios so increasing the means of publicity might just help grabbing more investors.
Correct, old people can understand bitcoin but many of them are too set on their ways and are not willing to learn anything new and this is why sometimes I do not bother teaching bitcoin to people after a certain age since I’m going to receive the same puzzled looks that I always receive but when you talk to young people at least they have their minds open to new ideas and technologies.
2010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: August 29, 2017, 04:14:26 AM
can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?

I think Bitcoin is hard to hack if you do not lose your account key. In addition, you should not visit fraudulent, fake or unidentified websites, which will prevent hackers from accessing your device.
Bitcoin is impossible to hack if you keep your private keys safe, as a bitcoin user that is your most important goal keep your private keys private, even if you think you do not have a lot of money in that address believe me the price of bitcoin will go really high and any amount of bitcoin in the future may become very valuable, so it is better to avoid losing any to hackers.
2011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Every ICO can F*ck off, especially SONM. on: August 29, 2017, 04:12:30 AM
MCO was a great ICO

Don't buy tokens with a mcap of more than $30M anyway... see EOS, bancor, tezos...
Correct I do not know why people keep falling for this, if an ICO gets 200 million before it ends then you need to be prepared to lose 90% of its value because there is not going to be many investors left to buy the tokens this is why even with the bonuses sometimes the best thing you can do is to wait, if the ICO has raised a decent amount but not much then you can invest but if it raise too much then avoid that ICO and wait for the open market.
2012  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC upto 5000$!! on: August 28, 2017, 06:04:41 AM
for me it will get even higher than that, if i had hot to buy btc i would but i'm only 17 and i don't have any kind of money to buy even the smallest fraction of bitcoins but even if you don't hit the 5K it will surely rise
Age is not really an excuse, we have seen the story of a 12 year old that invested his birthday gift in bitcoin and after six years he turned that in a million, if you really think the market of cryptocurrencies is going to be the next big thing then you need to spend every single minute you can in order to get a piece of that, even if you do not get much out of it, getting some benefits is way better than to get nothing.
2013  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: August 28, 2017, 06:00:55 AM
Seen higher bitcoin prices. Got people silent and told me why I did not buy bitcoin at the time. But they do not want to lose this golden opportunity, they choose bitcoin and leave their main job for bitcoin, precisely this is the right decision rather than losing a second chance, of course bitcoin prices make people so love bitcoin.
It is very easy to say that right now, especially when you look at the price now and at the price back then, but the truth is that bitcoin is not a sure thing, yes we believe in the technology but there are many unknowns, we do not know if the average person is going to adopt bitcoin in the future, so those that criticize you are not taking all the factors in consideration and this is especially true if the people that are telling you that did not invest in bitcoin.
2014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will bitcoincash / BCC price be equal to bitcoin / BTC price? on: August 28, 2017, 05:56:41 AM
I do not think that the prices will be equalized, because bitcoin has a lot of usage areas, Bch does not have usage areas, many companies work with bitcoin, and if this has become a tradition, I paid a a cafe via litecoin in italy at once, usage areas are always valued.
Right now, there is nothing you can do with your bitcoin cash except speculate with it, it is going to be interesting what happens from now own, if people begin to try to use their bitcoin cash then we could see business starting to adopt bitcoin cash and that is where the real danger is, I do not care about the price of bitcoin cash but about its adoption.

Bitcoin started out that way as well as etherium and other successful altcoins. Perhaps its still too early right now to say what part bcc would play in the altcoin market. But one thing for sure here is that btc is currently way too far ahead for any other cryptocurrency coins to be compared to
This is my fear, most coins start very slow and then they slowly begin to gain adoption, but in the case of bitcoin cash it started in the 4 place in market cap and now is in the third, I will not be surprised if in a few years it became the number two coin, there is no denying that despite the feelings of the community bitcoin cash seems to be doing well.

Exactly, I do not have a lot of bitcoin at the moment but I hope to get a good amount in the future and then if bitcoin skyrockets then you can use that money to do whatever you want, but the best way will be to use it in other investments, if someone did what you are suggesting then a 18 year old man could retire before its 30 birthday, think of how easy your life will be, but many are never going to take the risk since it is not the traditional path.
2016  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another Fun Poll for BTC vs BCC on: August 28, 2017, 05:38:18 AM
I'm just making this poll out of curiosity, as I myself am honestly confused on what to do.  I see BCC as free money so I think there's nothing to be done about it really except keep it for a rainy day?

I would like to hear your thoughts on what you plan to dump and why.

Of course I'm expecting most of you to dump BCC, but are there any reasons behind it, be it technical or philosophical?
There is not damage in keeping it if that is what you want, there is a possibility that bitcoin cash disappears relatively soon but if it does not then you can hold and like any coin you could earn some profits by holding long term, what it happens is BCH has many people against it because they see BCH as an attempt from the miners to impose their view on bitcoin.

2018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 🔥 BITCOlN CASH JUST MINED FIRST EVER 8MB BLOCK!!!! 🔥 on: August 27, 2017, 02:17:31 AM
Can somebody please tell me why it has to be one or the other, why not both be successful? There are so many threads/post regarding either BTC or BCH being killed by the other. Although I lean towards BTC surviving over the 'alt" BCH but i don't see a problem with both coins having a measure of success. As i've stated in another thread, I have been surprised regarding BCH rallying to such a price, and more surprised that it has been relatively maintained since. In other words I was wrong.... Embarrassed
It is really simple, from the point of view of BCH that coin was created as a direct rival to bitcoin and if they want to become the biggest coin out there then bitcoin cannot keep on existing or they are never going to surpass bitcoin, and from the point of view of bitcoin another coin calling itself bitcoin will only create confusion so BCH needs to die.
2019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Long Term HODL Cryptos on: August 27, 2017, 02:14:22 AM
As I have recently just joined the world of Cryptos around 1st August but I am doing only investment based on long term HODL currently my portfolio consist of NEO, OMG, XRP, SIA, XVG & ADEX

Would like good advise on any other cryptos with reason which I should be holding for a long term prospect of 4 to 5 years time
Anything that is in the top 50 is fine but if you want to play it safe then grab something from the top 10,  those coins hold most of the market cap and are not going to disappear so those are safe bets if you do not care as much in performance, but if you want profits then it could be a good idea to get into an ICO, there are risks but I think the risks are worth it.
2020  Economy / Economics / Re: New rich people thanks to BTC on: August 27, 2017, 02:10:33 AM
I have been making an analysis about how people is getting real rich thanks to the increse of BTC and it is amazing to think that people are getting real rich, lets hope and this will continue so the people that holds very little BTC also gets rich.

This is the analisis I made:

On February 1st 2015 you will need 4,219 BTC to have 1 million USD, now that is worth: 10,125,600 usd

On Febraury 1st 2016 you will need 2,681 BTC to have 1 million USD, now that is worth: 6,434,400 usd

On February 1st 2017 you will need 992 BTC to have 1 million USD, now that is worth: 2,380,800 usd

Today you need 404 BTC to have 1 million USD ( the person who has now 404 BTC it is millionaire, and in Feb 2015 just had with the same 404 BTC 95,757 USD

That is amazing.

I wonder what are the new rich people doing right know? have they realised that they are rich yet.

Every year there will always a new person or people who became rich with bitcoins that's why i am inspired to work bery hard here in bitcoin because maybe one day i would be one of them, a person who became rich with bitcoins i could really help my help family if my dream really came true.
If things keep going in the current direction then it is very likely that we are going to come to the point you need less than a hundred coins to be a millionaire and if things do not stop the re I do not see why you could not become a millionaire with 10 coins in 40 or 50 years which is why I think it is very important to accumulate as many bitcoins as it is possible to you.
