2081  Economy / Economics / Re: "Bitcoin unstoppable?" Bill Gates says a few words on: August 13, 2017, 12:59:42 AM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0HmrSfJwhU
Don´t let you irritate by the Youtube title, Bill Gates says only a few words.

I am very curious about your opinion about this video, it made me thinking, but then Roger Ver popped up and im not sure what I shall think.

I don`t care about what Bill Gates says.It would be great, if he buys a few thousand bitcoins. Grin
Implementing the blockchain technology in every day life is more important and it will bring  huge democratisation and more freedom from the banks and Wall Street.
Isn`t Roger Ver just a speculant, who wants only to make money and doesn`t really care about cryptos and the blockchain technology?
A lot of people care about what Bill Gates says as the richest person in the world, besides any promotion for bitcoin is good enough, but regardless of whether or not Bill Gates recognized that bitcoin is unstoppable the truth is that bitcoin is unstoppable and there is nothing that the banks or governments can do about it, they will try, but bitcoin is going to take over the world.
Because the nodes of bitcoin already spreaded around the world. Bitcoin being unstoppable like what already happened with the computer. The billgate the creator of the computer says that the bitcoin is unstoppable is very true.
Just waiting for the big boom for bitcoin round the wolrd.

Correct, and this is why it is important to keep blocks small, we need as many nodes as we can in order to make impossible to take down bitcoin but if bitcoin cash becomes the preferred bitcoin, I do not think it is going to happen but you never know, then that would mean that only a few data servers will be available around the world and that would make possible to take down bitcoin.
2082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in ICO, still promising? on: August 13, 2017, 12:54:16 AM
I am a person that gains profit from investing in ICOs but now I'm having second thoughts. I know some ICOs are potential scam so I am really picky to where I put my money.
Anyway, considering with what happened to Ethereum price and with the nearing Aigist 1, do you guys think that it will still be profitable to invest on ICOs mostly on ERC20 tokens and those accepting btc payments?
I have seen so many coins or token that is under their ICO price but I still think that it could still be promising .
It really depends on the project I think even if some of the coin is undervalue for a couple of weeks or month it could be pump if the project is great.
Correct, the most important aspect are the developers of the project, it does not matter if the the token goes below ICO price if I believe in the project that could be a good opportunity to buy even more of the token for a discount that way when it skyrockets you can get even better profits or if you like you could sell at an earlier moment now that you have reduced the average price of each token you own.
2083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on? Bitcoin for the rich only? on: August 12, 2017, 02:29:50 AM
i feel like selling all my Bitcoin and find another crypto that will be used by everyone in the future that will always have a low fee.
I don't think bitcoin can be replaced by any other cryptocurrency. Bitcoin has been the best from 2009. It has highly emerged the markets. Certain cryptocurrencies like ETH/LTC/etc can maybe replace Bitcoin but accordingly their transaction fees will increasing due to heavy increasing use.
The only way to overcome the fees is to include and calculate the fees in the transaction performed.
There are cryptocurrencies that are faster, better, more anonymous and safer than Bitcoin that can also scale better.
Bitcoin's only advantage is that of being the first at this point. I too believe that it won't be replaced as long as it's smooth development continues, but there are other currencies (such as XMR) which are a very real threat to Bitcoin.
The founder advantage that bitcoin has is something that is not going to be easy to overcome in the short time, especially if we take into account that bitcoin development continues so there is not a reason to think the protocol is not going to be improved to the point most of the advantages seen in other coins are going to be integrated in bitcoin.
2084  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin die soon? on: August 12, 2017, 02:25:45 AM
Bitcoin expects deflation, due to the fact that it is limited
Deflation is to be expected and in fact it is desirable, this happened too when the gold standard dominated the world of economics, at the time it was easy for merchants to determine their costs since every currency was backed by gold this created an environment where the biggest economic growth happened and if that was not enough your currency instead of losing value gained value and you could buy more with the same currency, does it sound familiar. if yes then it is because bitcoin is going to do the same for the world.
2085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: August 12, 2017, 02:22:18 AM
can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?

Yes if he has access to your private keys..he does not even need to be an hacker to steal the btc..
That is why you must take every measure to safeguard your seed words or private keys
Someone that has access to your private keys or your seed words is as much of an owner as you, that is why the most important thing a bitcoin holder has to do is to make sure to never write those words and keys in an electronic device or you run the risk of having your money stolen, it is imperative to keep that information a secret even from the closest persons to you.
2086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do BCC Will help increase BTC Value? on: August 12, 2017, 02:14:23 AM
It helps to increase the value but indirectly. Bitcoin cash is not bitcoin, the only thing that makes it overrated is the name, just the same with Ethereum and Ethereum Classic, this is an useless coin only that people bought it because it is like an ethereum.
All money in BCC comes back into Bitcoin if people sold it and convert into btc, so yes, the volume and the value keeps increasing.
By the way, bitcoin is always in uptrend so no matter what happens, it will always go up, and we are seeing it since 2010

I do not think we can say that bitcoin cash increases the value of bitcoin indirectly, if there was not bitcoin cash everyone will be buying it instead of having to go through all the trouble of converting their bitcoin cash into other coins, I think bitcoin cash is slowing down the growth of bitcoin and this is why I think we need to get rid of that altcoin as fast as possible.
2087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people are asking you about Bitcoin now? on: August 12, 2017, 02:09:42 AM
There's no exact number on how many people are asking me about bitcoin. I've been talking to my friends about bitcoin but they just ask basic things about bitcoin and answering them. I forgot on how many they are but to those who are serious 2 people asked me about it and right now they are trying their best about bitcoin.
At least you got some people interested in the subject, I got nothing, in my family and my circle of friends it is as if bitcoin does not exist, they know that I’m into bitcoin so any doubt they may have will be answered but I got nothing which shows to me that it is going to be almost an impossible mission to try to convince my family to invest in bitcoin when I cannot even get their interest.
2088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How high will Litecoin go? on: August 11, 2017, 05:44:53 AM
Hey guys
I'm trying to get some opinions on high Litecoin can go this year.
I've just started a poll on Twitter.
I'll put the link below otherwise let me know here.
What will be the Litecoin price at the end of 2017.
https://twitter.com/marckenigsberg/status/884003616914386944
I think the minimum price Litecoin is going to reach before the end of the year is 60 dollars and the maximum will be 80 dollars, Litecoin like most alts is going to go up after a bitcoin rally begins, I think things are going to be slow for some time in Litecoin, probably the pump is not going to happen until October but I will watch the market more closely in the next days and weeks since I have some small holdings.

Does anyone here think it will take a long time for litecoin to go up?  I got a decent amount of litecoin at 50 dollars.  But so far all it has done is go down to 39 dollars and then go back up but basically there is nothing going on with this coin.  Would you say if it goes up, it will take a very long time for it to do that?  Would you say it would be smart to just trade litecoin for another coin because of this?
It is up to you and your style of trading, if you are more the trader that likes to take action then cutting your losses now may be a good option, to be honest I’m a trader that can wait for months if necessary in order to get my profits, since more than a trader I’m a holder so I do not mind if my investments are not doing well for a long time but that is my style when I trade you need to find your own.
2089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [WAVES] in 5 years on: August 11, 2017, 05:31:39 AM
I think waves after 5 years have high price like 300 dollars it look like ethereum and for sure those people have tons of waves in their wallet become rich after 5 years of holding. Waves coin is of my favorite coin as of now because of the many supporter that they have . And Im also supporterof waves coin . Buy more waves and for sure you will earn a lot of money dont waste your time invest now!
This is a real possibility, waves is still very cheap in my opinion compared to what it can become, also the prediction is not that far of what it is possible because after five years I expect the market of cryptocurrencies to reach at least 1 trillion in market cap, at minimum waves should go up 10 times its current value and at best it could go up about 60 times its current price.
2090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy new altcoins in ICO stage = profit? on: August 11, 2017, 05:21:45 AM
Title.

Basically is this how its done to receive a profit on Cryptocurrency?

or just invest when research and news is done.

Thank you

This is the type of thinking that actually crashed the market, at least partially. Coins like STATUS, BAT, Bancor, etc. Prettty much screwed people over - I myself "lost" a lot of value When the coins I got went down in value a lot.
Its simply not a gaurantee
Correct many altcoins go down in price after the ICO, so for many investors it would have been better to buy after the ICO, but I think this is a consequence of the crazy bonuses ICOs are giving for early investment, someone can buy tokens for a price and receive and extra percentage then he immediately sells for the ICO price to someone else and he earns that percentage as profit.

Big mistakes but ICOs love them because they attract big whales in the beginning:
1. Bonuses. Maybe one small early bonus is ok. 5%? 10%? But 50% is too stupid.
2. Bounties. I have seen 10% of token for bounty. What? They should set aside BTC for bounty and that's it. Don't be cheap and give tokens. You KNOW these will be dumped.

But anyway, people won't be smart. They always make the same mistake.
Your point number 1 is my biggest issue, I have seen in the last weeks more and more ICOs that are giving bonuses that are too high as an example if you buy 1 BTC worth tokens and you received a bonus of 25% then in theory you have 1.25 BTC worth in tokens if you sell at ICO price as soon as you can then you get 1.25 BTC with a 25% profit and this is why the price of those coins dumps.
2091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: August 11, 2017, 05:14:48 AM
Why not? But who will pay for the airtime? TV advertisements are expensive. If you put up a TV ad, for what purpose? Is it gonna be just to promote bitcoin? Because the one who will do that will receive nothing in return. And the airtime payment will be done by seconds.
We are better off putting all that money  and effort that would be spent on 20 seconds on television to create blogs or to create signature campaigns in other forums promoting bitcoin, I’m sure that by putting our time and effort online getting targeted traffic will prove to be a lot more effective than a random commercial on TV that few people will understand.
2092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2017-08-01 Coinbase/GDAX Biggest Crypto Fraud in history? on: August 10, 2017, 10:56:49 PM
Coinbase said they would be issuing the new  bitcoin cashes  for those who held bitcoin at the time of the fork.
But what they did not say at the start that they are going to issue them very late, at the early 2018, which is pretty bad as the price is probably going to be much lower by then.

Maybe they have technical issues with the coin, I do no know how exchanges function but it is reasonable to think that is not an easy thing to list a coin all of a sudden especially one that Coinbase had no interest in listing on the first place, so the time frame they gave to their users of when they are going to receive their BCH has more to do with technical issues than with anything else.
2093  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC upto 5000$!! on: August 10, 2017, 10:53:43 PM
btc will cross upto 5000$ in this year last in December.
I think it can be.

What do u think?
To me that seems to be too soon, while that may look like a good prediction based on the fact there are more than 4 months left the truth is that much time can also play against you, for example bitcoin cash is still there, I do not think it is going to last more than a month but if it does some money may go out of bitcoin and into bitcoin cash, so as you see things are not so simple.

2095  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin prices rise high on: August 10, 2017, 10:01:20 PM
Many people are now curious to know what bitcoin is, whereas once bitcoin was just underestimated, now upside down many people stop working instead they prefer to focus on bitcoin

Is this the impact of rising bitcoin prices?

Yes I think so. Many people think that they would earn much more money in bitcoin than working because bitcoin price is now high compare to the previous years. Me, I will also do the same thing they did. Why suffer from hard work and get stress if I know some options where I can earn much big amount of money without getting stress. If bitcoin price continue rising I think much more people will go to bitcoin and I have read that the more the people who use bitcoin, the higher the chance that bitcoin will rise more since there are not enough coins for all the users.
Some people do that but there are others that enter in bitcoin because there is nothing left, the labor market is very difficult at the moment no matter where you are in the world and bitcoin is an escape it give us the chance to earn in this new currency and it gives that chance without asking any questions like the ones you will find in almost any job interview.
As compare to labor market and bitcoin life. There are much difference. There are many people on the earth who are unemployed just because of laziness as well. Like they cannot work in their lives. So as they enter to bitcoin they feeling better in bitcoin because it is one of the easiest work ever even more easily than labor market so that's why people prefer bitcoin instead labor market.
Another reason is the pay, the pay in most jobs is getting worse every day and benefits are being cut, bitcoin becomes more attractive for the simple reason that a person can develop a product and sell it in the forum and earn more than in his home country and if instead of exchanging his money for fiat he waits then that bitcoin becomes even more valuable after some time, so that is another reason why people are choosing bitcoin over other ways to make money.
2096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in ICO, still promising? on: August 10, 2017, 09:57:41 PM
Investing in ICO does not tell us whether it is promising or not. It is not the ICO itself that determines whether your investment would be worth it or not. It is the project using the ICO. ICO is basically neutral, it might end up good or bad, depending on the specific project. Choose the best and promising project, and your investment on an ICO will have huge returns. Choose the scam one, and you will end up throwing away money.

I agreed, ICO coin is quite risky, especially most of them are scams. Project looks promising but it is a scam project. So, investing an ICO coin may let you earn, but if you're unluckily to join some scammed ICO, then your earning had to cover these losses.
You don't need waiting the success of the project you joined, as me I buy some amount Bitquence when ICO crowdsale with rate @2000 sat per coin, then after listed to exchange in first time, I have sold all with rate @3000 sat per coin, 50% for a round I think better than try trading Roll Eyes
For that you will need, the project to have something going on already before the ICO, many of the ICOs these days do not have a single line of code written when they begin, this makes difficult for investors to decide if they want to invest in the ICO, since it is difficult to know if the aims of the team are realistic and if they are able to make their goals a reality.
2097  Economy / Economics / Re: New rich people thanks to BTC on: August 10, 2017, 09:53:50 PM
When we hear stories about people who bought BTC in 2010, we all have a feeling that we missed it. My personal opinion is that as for now we shouldn’t concentrate on putting ourselves in the same scenario as those people. It’s not really a wise move, more a blind one (I mean to buy Bitcoins now and wait for the price to increase within 5-10 years). Although I still believe that Bitcoin price will continue skyrocketing.
You only missed out if you knew about bitcoin back in the day and for some reason you decided you were not going to invest in bitcoin at the time, I know that I did not miss a thing because I got in bitcoin until the summer of 2016, my focus is on alts, alts that are good projects but that could skyrocket in the future, if you select one of those you could get the same results as if you selected bitcoin back in the day.
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How does Bitcoin looks like? on: August 08, 2017, 02:14:43 AM
Hi!! A am brand new here. I know bitcoin is a virtual currency , but has anyone already portrayed an imaginary design of Bitcoins? How does should it look like if ever? Like in the games in the internet that i see. The coin incentives or prizes looks like gold. Others have designs too and. If it would be a physical money, should it look like gold?

The truth is I don't want bitcoin to have it's own physical coin I mean what will happen to it's decentralization right?

But you are just asking a portrait, a imaginative layout of the "might be" physical coin. I think it will be having a good look if it looks like a gold portraying it's value or price. In terms of it's design, I think I want the sign of Bitcoin and besides it the name of it's creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
We do not need bitcoins to have a physical form in fact one of the great advantages of bitcoin is that is formless, you can hold hundreds of coins in an USB that looks exactly like any other USB, no one will be suspicious about anything, this is a great advantage that bitcoin has over gold and over cash and I do not like the idea of even imagining a physical bitcoin.
2099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do BCC Will help increase BTC Value? on: August 08, 2017, 01:58:54 AM
Hello Guys,
I'm not an expert of Virtual Currencies like BTC, BCC, liteCoins etc. but I'm just curious what is the main reason forks were made out of BTC popularity?
Do BCC is helping BTC to increase value?
Is BCC is created to rival other existing Low-end Virtual Currencies?
Do you believe another forks will exist after a few months or years?

Talk to me, please... thanks

Bitcoin Cash can do nothing but make it clear that hardforking is a mistake. The price right now is not a real price, people can't properly dump their coins. Once we get rid of Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin will go to $4000 easily. But we must drop this weight from the system.

I can't wait for real trading to happen, we will see a massive dump. This altcoin is going to get the biggest dump ever seen. They still don't understand all coins are being frozen on the markets, and people can't properly sell for BTC. Once this happens... it's showtime.

I wouldn't bet on that, BCC will probably stay around for long time, even after all the initial cluster fuck and future ones, I predict there will be major bugs and problems with the BCC network, but it will continue operating for long time.

Also more fork like this one will be made, Bitcoin SegWit2X is the next in line, prepare yourself for more free money. Cheesy
I really hope that Segwit2X does not happen, if we did not had enough confusion with 2 bitcoins then we are going to get another bitcoin for a total of 3, also if all those miners really make that hard fork then Segwit2x has the potential to be a much larger rival than BCH, many people will be doubtful about what to do in that instance, I think the original chain will prevail but it is not going to be as easy.
2100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: August 08, 2017, 01:54:34 AM
If you are that afraid that some very clever hackers might hack your wallet, then go for a cold wallet. That is yours and yours alone. I have not heard of Bitcoin hacking though. ETH hacking, there were several instances already. I hope no more hacking in the future. It always involves millions of dollars wasted.
No one has hacked bitcoin, that is really bad description of what happened, exchanges and online bitcoin wallets have been hacked and then the private keys of their customers, with that the hacker has complete control of the money of everyone and then they steal that money, this is why keeping any money in an online service is a bad proposition.
