1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum heading to the moon? Speculation Thread on: November 11, 2017, 12:07:27 AM
Yes it will go way up, just give it time. Bitcoin also took its time going up and it was a pretty good year for ethereum. I think 1000-2000$ ethereum is pretty likely in the next year.
So you think that Ethereum is going to go up 3x to 6x in a single year? I’m not an expert in predicting anything but I think the chances of that happening are very low, ethereum grew a lot in this year but the market cap was a lot lower, now that the market cap is this huge we cannot expect the price to go up that much in such a short time amount of time.
1682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How to start investing with 1$? on: November 10, 2017, 10:02:45 PM
So here I am with about 1.5$ in my poloniex account today. What advice would you give me to make this 1.5$ into 150$ by the end of next year that is 2018?

Anyplace I could get to know about pump n dumps before they happen? Any particular cheap crypto that I should hold onto?
This is the lowest budget I have ever seen, I know that you can try this as an experiment but if you are going to use such a low amount of money then why don't you make paper trades instead, you assign yourself whatever imaginary amount you want and keep track of your trades in a spreadsheet, you are going to get more benefits doing that as a completely theoretical exercise than to try to make 1.5 dollars into 150 dollars.
1683  Economy / Economics / Re: Indonesian Ban on: November 10, 2017, 04:56:54 PM
the Indonesian government continues to monitor the development of bitcoin, I am very sure someday the government will legalize bitcoin in Indonesia.
in my opinion legalizing bitcoin in Indonesia, will have a bad impact in the country itself, because uneducated people about bitcoin will have a curiosity about it, why its bad instead of good? , because Indonesia Had high corruption rate, so it will a lot of people using bitcoin for tax evasion and money laundering. although its good for the bitcoin ecosystem because many people recognize bitcoin more.
But that is not bitcoin fault that is the fault of the people, technologies are neither good or bad, the Internet has opened many doors to many people and yet there are many people using the internet to do bad things all around the world and yet we do not ban the internet and in my opinion the same logic applies to bitcoin.
1684  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happened to btc in 2020 will it hit $100,000 on: November 10, 2017, 03:26:05 PM
Historical analysis has shown the max price to be around $15000. I believe if it rises above $15K for an extended period, we will see $20K MAX but no higher. At that point, lots of sell orders will start the mother of all crashes.
I'm also not sure it will happen. even the price is very high for 1 bitcoin. well, maybe the maximum price is only about $ 20k for 1 bitcoin. but, that's just a prediction, because it is very difficult to predict the price of bitcoin, even more so if things happen like this.
We must not forget to take into consideration other factors that may increase or decrease the price of bitcoin, by that time we are going to get the halving and the lightning network and those are two factors that may make the price of bitcoin to go higher and we know that the economies of the world are not in the best shape either so that could help bitcoin as well as people lose faith in the fiat system.
1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Price Analysis: Altcoins May Sigh with Relief on: November 10, 2017, 03:36:03 AM
The last few weeks I was sad, even frustrated because my assets dropped dramatically, but now I'm starting to smile and be happy.
I agree with that statement, it's a chance for alt to fix the price, hopefully all alt will pump.
It was obvious the price of alts was suppressed and that it was impossible for the price to remain that low for a long time, so all of those that took the time to invest in alts in the last weeks are going to see great profits in the next weeks and months, however I wonder what this will mean for the price of bitcoin, does this mean the price is going to keep at its current level or there is going to be a correction.
1686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you support Bitcoin Forks? Why??? on: November 10, 2017, 02:31:55 AM
I do not believe that the future forks of Bitcoin can generate any currency of value. They are just a tool to further strengthen the price of Bitcoin. However it ends up disrupting the market.
I do not believe in any of the forks, bitcoin is fine as it is however I disagree with your interpretation of the forks, the forks were not made to make bitcoin stronger they were made to weaken bitcoin and to earn money that way but it has not worked, bitcoin is as strong as ever and the forks are not giving any sign that are going to become successful that is why the next fork was canceled.
1687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can cryptocurrency make real money disappear? on: November 10, 2017, 01:24:15 AM
I don't think cryptocurrency can completely replacing the the FIAT. FIAT is controlled by government and i don't think government will allowed that and also the risk of the cryptocurrency like your crypto can be gone due to hacking or system issues. There is so much unknown and risk behind it. So i don't think it is possible.
Correct, governments are never going to let their fiat disappear they depend heavily on printing their own currency and if they did not had that power governments will need to be way smaller, so we are currently in a very interesting moment in the history of the world if bitcoin is defeated then we are going to be headed for a world that is completely centralized with all powerful governments but if bitcoin wins then we are going to see governments that are going to be very small.
1688  Economy / Economics / Re: Is time too late on: November 09, 2017, 09:59:22 PM
No Bitcoin domination is still not at 100%. 62.7% marketcap domination now and still rising. It is kinda funny to see al those "great tech" altcoins and bitcoin beats the ca$h out of it.

Bitcoin domination has not been in 100% since the second coin was created, just one year ago the bitcoin dominance was close to 90% but things have changed since that moment since many projects are flourishing and deserve to have high market caps as well, Ethereum, monero, shift, waves, litecoin all of them are good projects so I do not see why we are ever going to see a bitcoin dominance as big as the one we saw this past year and that is fine.
1689  Economy / Economics / Re: Are cryptocurrencies better than regular currency on: November 09, 2017, 02:39:34 AM
No, unless society is used with cashless/electronic payment method and most people have smart device with internet connection. Also, cryptocurrency is practically useless in poor country.
Correct, bitcoin cannot replace currency in a country where not everyone has access to the internet, this is an issue since that means that bitcoin can only replace cash in a country that is rich enough to have a very high standard of living, but if they have such a high standards of living then that means that their economy is doing great and the citizens do not have a need to replace their currency.
1690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I Wait or Invest On Bitcoin? on: November 09, 2017, 01:35:24 AM
Why the wait ? The longer you wait the higher bitcoin value goes. Make your plans now and go ahead make your investement. If you know anyone who invested money in bitcoin like you plan to do, ask him for advice. Otherwise, just buy bitcoin now and stock it. It became expensive now and it is expected to be even more expensive, so, make your move as soon as possible.

My special someone always procrastinate and always said that bitcoin price is high so he would wait for its price to go down before he buys.  Sadly, bitcoin price does not goes down and continue to goes up.  So maybe it is better to invest bitcoin now than wait.
The problem with that kind of thinking is that most people never follow through, they are always thinking that the price may go lower and then when it does they do not invest in bitcoin because they are afraid that bitcoin is going to crash or something, people like that are never going to invest in bitcoin, since they are not really convinced about the future of bitcoin.
1691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This shit needs to STOP imo. on: November 09, 2017, 12:37:23 AM
Copy pasted from reddit:

(And i totally agree!)

days and days in suspense of this hardfork. Watching ur alts bleed to death. ICO's tanking.

And now the fork is not cancelled....no.... suspended. THIS ALTBLEED BTC PUMP NEEDS TO STOP! IT just plain fn SUCKS!

China sucked, now these shit fn forks all the time. Pump and dumps. Bitcoin just went from 7900+ to 7400- In a matter of minutes!

Reddit:

So.... this was just a cash grab and a shitton of insider Trading?
Step 1: buy BTC after BTG fork at a low.
Step 2: announce contentious hard fork for "free coins"
Step 3: hold BTC and watch price skyrocket and alts bleed.
Step 4: start dumping BTC around 7k and accumulate cheap alts.
Step 5: announce cancellation of fork.
Step 6: watch alts peak and sell at +30-50% profit off alts, and get back into BTC.
Step 7: start planning the next fork.

Bitcoin is in a very unregulated state and to be honest I like it that way however things like these are going to happen in this market, the miners are going to take advantage of every opportunity they can in order to make money, it was not long ago the network was being spammed to death and that made the fees to be very high and there was a strong suspicion that was caused by the miners and now we got this, it is not right but it does not surprise me.
1692  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC can reach 8000USD or not? (Share your opinion) on: November 08, 2017, 10:21:39 PM
BTC can reach 8000USD or not? (Share your opinion)

How do you think about that?

BTC will have a Hard Fork but Now BTC doesn`t have a power.

Reach more than 8000USD within Hard Fork or not?
That price is not that far away and now that we are finding out that the fork planed by the miners it is not going to happen then I think that reaching that price has become a certainty, in fact I will not be surprised if we reached that price in the next days since the enthusiasm is going to be great now that we got the news that bitcoin is not going to be forked once again and that the miners are going to keep mining bitcoin for the foreseeable future.
1693  Economy / Economics / Re: Wonder how many people can hold BTC for more than 3 years on: November 08, 2017, 09:07:23 PM
For sure those people hold their bitcoin last 3 years ago are now happy because they can earn a lot of profit now. Count to think of it the price last 3 years ago is 300 dollars only but if you see the price today its already 7k dollars. Your money become 23 times . What if you have hundreds of bitcoin for sure you are now millionaire. I salute to those people bought bitcoin and Until now they hold it .

Yes there are those people who are really lucky to have bitcoin when it was cheaper and just holding it would become millionaire but for many people here who I believe just have known bitcoin maybe this year has a chance still to be millionaire because the price of bitcoin may keep going higher if we keep supporting it. There are some who become millionaires because they hold some altcoins that have multiplied in value from its ICO perhaps. For those who got in just months ago can still be millionaire even this year if they know how to trade because trading cryptocurrencies open so many opportunities because of its volatility and some altcoins do double in value in just days.
Bitcoin still offers great opportunities but at the same time if you want the chance to make as much money as the early adopters you are not going to have an option but to invest in icos, many will say that is a big risk and they are right but the bitcoin early adopters took great risks as well so you need to be ready to take the same risks if you want to make a lot of money.
1694  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: November 08, 2017, 08:00:28 PM
Most all of us want to be rich.to have a better life.  Buying all the thing that you want, travelling around the world (on the place you did not go yet). Buying all you favorite cars, shoes, clothes and everything just to satisfy your wants. Only those satisfied in their life are those people dont want to be rich.
I think there is a difference between the ideas of some members about what they want of bitcoin, I do not need bitcoin to make me a millionaire that can buy any car I want, the only thing that I want from bitcoin is to make my life a lot easier, if I can buy a house in just a few years thanks to my investment in bitcoin to me that is enough since I will not need to be indebted for decades like most people are in the world when they buy a house.
1695  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the best way to make money with bitcoin in 2017? on: November 07, 2017, 02:37:41 AM
With Bitcoin? By creating an ICO, you don't even need Bitcoin to make money. Easiest money ever! /s

On a serious note, holding Bitcoin seems the best strategy so far in 2017.

LOL, this is so true that it is starting to get ridiculous.
you can see newbies everyday asking "how to make my own altcoin, or ICO" and they don't even know what a cryptocurrency is and have never even seen a line of code in their entire lives!
and yet people pour their money in their pockets in the name of ICO and they make a lot of money because there are idiots who will always hand them their money!!!

this is coming to an end though. it won't last forever. the newbies run out of money and will soon realize how they are losing money. and then a new method of scamming them emerges!
That is the way things work, while I have not been around as much as many members of the forum, I have read that the investor based games was the most active section in the forum at some time but people have finally learned that it was nothing but a scam, then it came cloud mining and now there are icos, scammers are going to find the way to earn money in dishonest ways that is what they do.
1696  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: November 07, 2017, 01:26:02 AM
[Edited to make it more understandable question]
What if all nation use only a one currency or one global currency?, What will happen to our world?, What is the effect of every nation's or every country economy?, It can make people's unite each other?Any opinion. Cheesy
I do not think that is going to happen but if it did then that is going to be huge trouble, think of the euro except 100 times worst, countries will be unable to set their own budgets and that is an issue since the needs of Spain are different than the needs of Japan, this is why I do not see bitcoin becoming the only currency of the world, it may become very powerful but there are always going to be other crypto and fiat and to me that is a good thing.
1697  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happened to btc in 2020 will it hit $100,000 on: November 07, 2017, 12:24:13 AM
Many of predicotrs predict that bitcoin will hit $100,000 in year 2020.sometimes it might be true and the start of this year btc price was nearly $1000 and now it is $6000.btc always up their price by more than we expect is it true if we earn more btc now be can become  millionaires and succes our dreams .but the problem is .is it true what do you think ? Smiley
Anything can happen however the chances of that happening are very low, most people would like that to happen but at the same time we need to be realistic about the possibilities of that happening, many people like to make those predictions since that will mean that almost anyone will become wealthy by just holding a few bitcoins but you need to make the effort to get more bitcoin instead of relying in the price of bitcoin to reach that huge value.
1698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins are dying on: November 06, 2017, 11:15:32 PM
Only those great altcoins with great team can withstand the continuous Bitcoin Hype! Wink
In the long term, yes. In the short term however, any piece of shit coins seems to be getting pumped. Hopefully this will stop soon so there'll be less scammy projects...
I do not think there is going to be an end to shit coins, investors love profits and even if the project does not look solid if they think they can make some money with it they are going to invest, they do not care about the long term well being of the community they only care about the money and that kind of thinking is the one that creates huge bubbles in which even good assets are overvalued.
1699  Economy / Economics / Re: If the powerful governments wanted to, do you think they could stop Bitcoin? on: November 06, 2017, 09:27:38 PM
I think the government will not be able to stop bitcoin, no matter how powerful the government is.
Because of the most powerful way to get rid of bitcoin, just by shutting down all the internet networks in the world, I'm sure, bitcoin will disappear and no longer be used in this world. And i think it's very unlikely, because everyone in the world is very dependent on the internet. So in conclusion, bitcoin will always exist as long as the internet network exists in the world.
Not only that but in the world of crypto there is a project like shift that is a decentralized internet so it may be possible that in the future the governments of the world are not going to have even that option since we could move to a decentralized internet, so cryptocurrencies are taking power away from the government not only in terms of currencies but in all aspects of society.
1700  Economy / Economics / Re: Indonesian Ban on: November 06, 2017, 02:45:34 PM
I think maybe bank indonesia is not ready and can not accept btc. But I believe one day btc can be accepted by the bank Indonesia. Why can I say it because I am sure that later that currency will change with electronic money, it is something that will happen sometime
It could be something like that. It could be possible that indonesian people aren't pursuing crypto as their government went into that decision. Anyway, life will goes on and crypto currencies were gaining more supporters to proved its power to dominate over fiat in field of online transaction. Maybe Indonesian government doesn't make feel with this, but believing they will bring back crypto in their backyard.
It is very obvious to me that if the government went through all of that to ban bitcoin then it is likely that adoption is growing in Indonesia and that is causing a discomfort in the government big enough to ban bitcoin, but like most bans it is going to be ineffective especially against something like bitcoin that does not have a physical form, so unless they can block bitcoin traffic, people from Indonesia will be able to keep using bitcoin as they want.
