Hectorians!
We are below 2,500,000 HEC token in the circulating supply!

Around 1,000,000 tokens were removed from the supply since January!

HEC is a deflationary utility token!

Hello Hectorians
As some of you know, more and more nations are announcing their intention to implement regulations around trading cryptocurrency. This company is always looking to the future to ensure our users the best possible experience participating in our protocol. With this in mind, and after extensive deliberation with our international legal team, it is clear there are no avenues to move forward while keeping the term “Finance” as part of our operating name. It is fundamental to advance towards the future and we must take all necessary steps to ensure we can do so.

The word Finance will cause increasing issues in almost all major regions where our user base is populated. We have chosen to act now, while the overall damage of such a total (yes, even our socials will be 100% updated this time) overhaul is still minimal. In light of how much exposure we’re about to receive due to our sports partnership, continued crosschain expansion and Atlantica launch, the longer we postpone this necessary move, the more difficult it becomes.

Usually, we would want to bring this to a vote; however, the screening process for suitable alternates has been rigorous. By the time potential options cleared branding, legal, technical, availability, search engine optimization and general “likeability,” we had just a single direction forward as a company.

Starting today, we will be doing business as Hector Network. You will notice that our social media accounts have already begun the transition. You can expect that over the next 7-10 days, we will thoroughly update our documentation, our white paper, our logos with partners and so on.

You will notice we are not updating our main website. We’ve chosen not to because we are very close to launching the Beta of our new site, and it would be a waste of resources to update something that will be superfluous shortly.

We fervently hope that you all recognize this for what it is: a proactive maneuver to further position ourselves for the brightest possible future for all Hectorians.

Best,
The Hector Network Team

Good morning, afternoon, evening and goodnight Hectorians: The Art team is looking to expand.  I'm in the market for a talented, if not experienced, graphic artist specializing in 2D art, graphic design, infographics, etc.  Our team works in The Affinity Suite, The Adobe Suite and Figma. The hourly commitment is full-time, but the position is on a week-to-week basis.  There is potential room to expand into permanent, but I can't make any promises now as it is market condition and workload dependent. Don't think you are good enough, but wish you were?  Let me be the judge.  Please reach out anyways, as I'd like to see your work and talk to you.  While you might not be suitable for this position, knowing what hidden talents lay in our community is always helpful.

I know I make all this nothing look easy, but this department is a lot of work.  This is not a position for glory seekers.  You come to Hector Finance; you come to roll up your sleeves and build the future.  Sometimes the hours can be very long,  but as long as you are communicative and meet your deliverable deadlines, you will have a lot of autonomy to set a schedule that works best for you.  I'll be accepting portfolios and interviews on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you or a friend are interested, send me a DM ASAP, I would prefer to hire from within our community (or community adjacent); however, I will be expanding my search rapidly.

We pay weekly. Looking forward to hearing from you,

Arachne

How New Web3 Projects Are Impacting the Real World: The Case for Pets

Cat-and-dog-themed NFT projects are still on the rise, but are they making a real-world pawsitive social impact? While pets are being hyped about having their own Metaverse avatars, we still believe their real-world versions need the utmost care and attention. Hence, the LOOTaDOG PetCare Foundation.
Many Web3 projects already exist for pets. One of these is Web3 Doge. It sets its eyes on becoming the gateway for 3D pet avatars. Another is Petaverse. It also invites you to bring your pets to the Metaverse, as we do, but it takes on a similar approach to Web3 Doge. Yes, they’re both into creating 3D avatars for cats, dogs, or likely any other kind of pet. It’s cute and all, but we were wondering if virtual walks in a virtual park are all they got to offer. We don’t know all details yet, for sure, but instead of speculating, we wanted to focus on something they haven’t (yet, likely).

Instead of promoting just a virtual universe, we’re shooting for a project that will impact the real world. In the case of humans, we mentioned previously how STEPN is already doing the thing. They’re encouraging more and more people to actually go out, move around, and eventually earn from being active outdoors. It clearly is a Web3 NFT project with a mission. So how about something for pets? Interestingly, the NFT and crypto space owes a lot of its fame to cats and dogs. CryptoKitties is one of the earliest blockchain projects that got cat lovers into virtual cat breeding and NFT collecting. It has had huge success. Today, many copycats may have outshined it in terms of hype and popularity. But, CryptoKitties is still a thing, and one good reason for that is it’s making a real-world social impact.

Not so long ago, CryptoKitties formed a partnership with ACTAI Global and Ocean Elders. Together, they created “Honu.” It’s the world’s first “sea-loving CryptoKitty.” They bred Honu for one specific noble purpose: it is to serve as an environmental ambassador to help protect real-world oceans and wildlife. Honu was then auctioned, and all proceeds were donated to charity. That’s a noble cause, indeed.

As dog lovers, we salute this cool cat move Okay, we weren’t awed only by that CryptoKitties move. Cool Cats — another NFT project — also made a donation to charity together with artist Ghxsts. And we thought it was super ccool Cool Cats and Ghxsts gave 18.16 ETH each to Hope for Paws, Animal Equality, and Rainforest Foundation. All these organizations bring new hope to our animal friends and the planet. The donation they each received was USD 41,285 at the time.

Do you see the point here?
NFT projects aren’t just for making big money. When good people make good money, they also do good deeds by handing the fortune to others. They have filled their pockets with more than enough for their need, so they’re generously filling those of others.

How LOOTaDOG sets itself apart
We can’t help but applaud our fellows in the Web3 development and NFT space for their creativity and brilliance. To our comrades here, we salute you and say to you, WAGMI (We’re All Gonna Make It)!

But, after some thorough search among real-world pet communities — especially those for dogs — we found a disconnect. Many dog lovers are actually advocating for dog rescue missions. While some of them may want to take in the concept of “earning” by expressing their fondness for pets, many more are pushing for charitable causes. Many dogs need a new home and sufficient care, According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), roughly 6.5 million animals enter shelters each year. Sadly, only 3.2 million get adopted. About 2 million of these are dogs. Imagine stray dogs roaming about, left in the streets and alleys to fend for themselves, and having no clue what life would look like the next day. That’s just heartbreaking.

These sentiments led us to find ways to give animal lovers what they really want. And that’s freedom and love for pets! In order to make a significant contribution to the pet community, we created the LOOTaDOG PetCare Foundation.

How the LOOTaDOG PetCare Foundation will make an impact
Through this foundation, we’ll build our charity fund dedicated to pet welfare. We aim to prioritize the following pet care needs:
  • Necessary pet supplies
  • Veterinary costs
  • Campaigns to help them find a new home
  • Pet care center development

Basically, we’re geared to help with pet rescue missions, pet care, and pet rehoming. Our Web3 NFT project will donate 10% of our NFT minting fees to this petcare charity fund. This will be an ongoing mission. We will then use the fund to help the animal rescue and animal welfare organizations we’ve connected with.

Do you know any other animal welfare organizations that would love to partner with us? A huge part of our mission is to make this big contribution to already existing pet rescue centers. If you’re running such an organization, or if you know someone who is, then we’d be delighted to chat.

UPDATE: we’ve already launched our LOOTaDOG Genesis Dog NFTs (since June 13), which means we’ll soon be ready to make a pawsitive impact in the real world of pets — dogs and cats and any furbabies alike.

So fam, head over to https://lootadog.com/mint to start minting.

And, stay excited and stay tuned! If you have any questions about the LOOTaDOG project, feel free to email us at web3@lootadog.com

Harry Maguire won't make it in Pep Guardiola's team and Also Jurgen Kloops team. He'll be benched soon in Manchester United. Anticipate!!
So, Nathan Ake is far better option for Chelsea than Harry Maguire. Harry Maguire is simply been protected at England not to show he's flaw's as they always play to he's strength. Irksome!!

Southgate sucks, we'll see in little or no time.

Well the discussion here wasn't if Harry Maguire will fit into the Chelsea squad or not. What we're discussing is the fee Manchester city are asking for Ake when he wasn't even a regular started then an instant of Maguire fee was brought up. And by the way Southgate sucks no doubt. I do understand your frustrations as a Manchester united fans but do note Maguire wasn't this bad when you bought him for a record fee. He was performing quick well which resulted to him been valued that high (English agenda also contributed).

For instance did you see how poorly Rudiger was performing while playing for Sarri/Lampard but saw how he drastically changed immediately he was paired with the right player managed by a coach that actually knows what he's doing?. You think Virgil van Dijk does the dirty works himself, think again.
2668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inherited gambling on: July 09, 2022, 07:20:26 AM
-Will the addiction be worse than someone who picked up the habit?

Let me just use an illustration to give my input on this topic. Looking at Ronaldo and Messi, it's clear that Ronaldo built himself due to constant practice (which is like him picking up the habit) while Messi is naturally gifted (which is like footballing is in his DNA). Without much debate we know Messi is mile ahead of Ronaldo although some will disagree and that's solely due to Ronaldo's personality and respect for hard work. Now when you're born with something, you're naturally gifted in the area and it would be evident when you work on that gift.

The gambler would inherited the act is likely to be more addictive then the users that just got addicted due to some circumstances. He would picked up the habit would probably let it go if he gets an alternative to gambling but he would has a family history would die a gamble.
2669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino can play a role in changing fortune? on: July 09, 2022, 07:10:29 AM
His company is on the verge of bankruptcy. Smith come back to Las Vegas feeling sad. At that time Las Vegas was known as the capital of casinos. He had only $5,000 when he entered a casino with a depressed mind. His destiny was revealed. He earned about $27,000 with in a week.

Wait seems I'm not understanding this properly, you mean it took him about a week to earned that much after probably risking all his funds on the bet and not even a day bet. Even though he came out successful, that was a stupid move by Smith. The board members should ask him to set down as the CEO even though he's the founder of the company as he would probably take the company back into bankruptcy if he tries this again as there's every chance he would take the company funds for gambling in attempt to recreate this luck which will fail.

In no condition should you risk it all when betting even though you're 99% sure of coming out victorious. What would he had said assumings he lost it all like the majority out there. Stupid stories like this are the few percentage gamblers been lucky (probably first timer luck) and shoudn't be shared to encourage people into trying similar steps.
2670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: July 09, 2022, 06:33:03 AM
Rumor has it that Chelsea are trying to get close to Sevilla defender Jules Kunde. But I doubt it because Kounde has a market value of more than €50 million, while chelsea released Rudiger and Christensen to madrid and barca on free transfers.
Doesn't Chelsea still have Emerson? If I'm not mistaken his loan period to lyon ends this season, Emerson can be used now to help chelsea's defense

Emerson is a left back and a back up option for Chilwell if he isn't fully fit at the start of the season or to be used for cups games so Chilwell doesn't get overworked. Both Left back and right back has been secured so when Chelsea talk about defensive players they aren't referring to that position but Central defender that'll replace Rudiger's vod he left and a backup option for Thaigo silver as he's aging and won't be expected to play all games/90mins.

I feel Kounde wasn't Tuchel choice instead it was that of the previous administration as since the departure of Marina & petr cech the whole talk about signing him die down. Instead other defenders talks came into the picture nevertheless, Chelsea would be active in the market to get themselves a better replace for the central defends.
2671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 09, 2022, 06:04:21 AM
I wouldn't say so with the way transfer fee are these days, and given the amount of experience Ake have acquired while playing so multiple teams in the, He's cheaper than what Arsenal were willing to pay for Ben Mee and what Man Utd paid for Maguire so I think it's only a fair price.

I won't compared Leicester city Maguire to Manchester City Ake that doesn't even start games. Maguire was another beast while he was at Leicester city but Manchester united cause brought out the worst in him. Even as he's experiencing his worst form, the difference is still clear when he plays for the england national team and him playing for Manchester united, he doesn't make those silly mistakes.

I think Chelsea going for Ake is just because other defensive players transfer aren't looking like it'll be successful. Assuming he was a priority, would have negotiated a deal as we were also negotiating that of sterling. He isn't worth that much I don't understand why Manchester City is placing that much fee on him when they aren't broke like Barcelona.
2672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 08, 2022, 09:11:12 PM
Having both Di Maria and Pogba is just great for Juventus so now they need a striker that could be able to turn all that passes into goal. At this rate, I dont see why Ronaldo wont be joining them anytime soon  Roll Eyes. This is pretty much speculation but Im sure that Ronaldo would fit in a club that has Di Maria in it though and the fact that Ronaldo hasnt been joining the pratice pretty much tells everything

Actually there's a valid reason why reason isn't joining the Manchester united squad for the preseason tour and it has to do with family issue. Ronaldo is a big/professional star that he doesn't have to protest by not coming to training as many media are speculating. He has already made his intentions heard, Manchester United aren't ready to win in the next year's instead they want to build which isn't what Ronaldo needs now.

And as for him returning back to Juventus, I don't think Ronaldo would bye into that idea. Juventus isn't want Ronaldo needs in this stage of his career, he needs a club that's ready to spend as that's the era of football we're in. Chelsea would be a perfect choice, so we're just waiting on him. Ronaldo should let go of all those legacy bullshit and put himself first instead of listening to Sir Alex Ferguson again that almost destroyed his career with a move to United.
2673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: AFCON 2023 qualifiers. on: July 08, 2022, 09:01:52 PM
I watched the game from the first half till the full time, Nigerian female team dominated the game despite not being able to score many goals in the first half.

I didn't know we're now discussing female football on the thread, well since  there isn't much fans and content to talk about for them having their own thread then the discussion would be acceptable here. When it comes to female football, The super falcons has always dominated the Africa sector so it's no news of them winning as they always find a way to win either convincingly or they struggle the end result has always been then winning which is why they're the most decorated.

I saw the match trending on Twitter but didn't look into it. From the stats I'm seeing, the Falcons won that game convincingly as they had all the stats in their favor which is no surprise to me. The African women ballers are kind of poor compered to their counterpart in Nigeria so the match are usually boring as no competitive for me.
2674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Type of Gambler Am I? on: July 08, 2022, 08:50:40 PM
but now base on what I have read from this thread base on the explanations you made here ,I now fall in the category of professional gambler because they said experience is the best teacher, I'm into more of the business side now than before.

Maybe you shouldn't go professional as that could bring back your old habits as I read previously of you been an addict in your topic you started. Maybe just go causal, only gamble for fun and entertainment as this won't turn you back into an addict again and cost you funds which could lead to depression. Do note that, the business side of Gambling could be very addictive as you would have to gamble frequently.

Gamblers shift to different phases as their stay in the industry gets longer. Someone could have started gambling just to catch fun but as he/she begin to see some revenue coming from his bets he might begin to get tempted to invest more time and probably money as well.

2675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is for big bag holders on: July 08, 2022, 08:34:36 PM
For a gambler that had less amount of money, they will want to use small capital to win big profits which is mostly difficult.

Yes it's difficult but not impossible and that's what attract people to gambling as they believe they can be lucky and win it big with few dollars invested. We can see people using as low as $0.3 to earn $1k+ in my locality with sport betting. Although the chances of winning are slim but we have had verified stories of people winning.

Basically with gambling, it doesn't matter how much you have as even though you have huge money they can be lost with just few careless bets. What matters is the luck factor generally excluding those games that needs a little bit of knowledge of the game to be able to win.
2676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Recent Experience at a Land-Based Casino on: July 08, 2022, 08:15:56 PM
If you were the casino manager would you fire the casino worker for interfering with your business or would you ban the gambler from visiting the casino?

Provided you weren't been discussed to and you held such conversation that means the worker must have been yelling and that's what will get him fired by me assuming I was the manager. He isn't just advising a clients but give my other customers a wrong impressions towards my casino. One reason people keep patronizing a casino is became they most have heard stories of others been successful gambling there and you just spoiled that.

He could have advise that addict without creating a scene. If I have a casino and notice someone in similar situation as the explanation by OP I would advise him too to try something else since gambling isn't working for him. I'll do that without putting the reputation of my casino on the mud just as the worker did.
2677  Other / Meta / Re: weird pm received on: July 08, 2022, 01:53:47 PM
I received the PM same day this thread was created as well, it was looking wired but it serve it purpose. I haven't visited my Account Related Settings page for a very long time so I didn't know I added that option when I created my account and the secret question wasn't that secret as I have disclosed it severally while participating in discussion on the forum.  I don't blame myself as I wasn't as knowledgeable as I'm now back then when I created my account.

I took his advice and removed the secret question as I also saw the forum warning which was making the whole option look stupid. I didn't see his message as a hack attempt but it was wired. Why haven't theymo disabled that secret question option. Basically anybody closed could easily guess this so called secret question especially mine (which has been removed though)..
2678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can change of environment have an effect on gambling addiction. on: July 08, 2022, 01:22:42 PM
Now considering someone who is a gambling addict, is there any possibility of him/her becoming better if they are relocated to another environment or society where people around are not involved in gambling?

Can someone still develop the habit of gambling and become an addict even though no one around gambles?

Environment has its own influence on people but you personal have to allow that happen before it happens to you. You can live in a neighborhood of crack dealers and not be addicted to cocaine. A part of you could decision to fight the status quo and be different. Don't use the excuse of living in that bad neighborhood to destroy your life. As for gambling, reason why you could easily get influence is because of the monetary benefits that people think comes from gambling and not realizing that you'll probably lose more than you can make.

The best method to combat that argued is to find a decent source of income, that source would probably keep you busy and you'll probably only gamble for fun and entertainment. Gambling entirely isn't bad but when you get addicted that's when it become a problem. Therefore even if you're leaving in a gambling environment like las Vegas, you don't have to allow yourself become a victim.

Great effort igehhh as usual although I'm not a DT1 member, I was removed two months back and has been a DT2 member since then. You can confirm it from here (DT update log) or here (BPIP). I understand that the numbers after the users names are the post count each user made monthly right? I must say, I didn't expect I'll get up to that number as I wasn't even active on the thread recently due to the congestion of discussion and it was disorganizing.

We had to even create another thread; (Info-thread: Translation of Useful English topics to Naija languages, pidgin etc) just to reducing the frequent offtopic post on an ongoing discussion after some users picked interested in translating fillippone and others, useful threads. Assuming we had our locals all this would had been avoided. This congestion are discouraging vital conversation but hopefully we'll get our heart desires for a board one day. Untill then we just keep pushing in the best way possible and hopefully this month would be more active. Can we also get a total of post made monthly without excluding any rank please.
