2701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling is portrayed negatively almost everywhere? on: April 20, 2018, 03:37:04 PM
Superb explanation, +1 for how you made everyone rethink over their thinking about gambling.
I believe that there's nothing wrong in gambling, but chances of losing in gambling at a sudden pace are much more compared to trading.
Trading has a stop loss advantage, gambling doesn't. Both are good, both are bad.
Trading and gambling should both be done under the same rules - NO ADDICTION POLICY. We should only gamble/trade that we can afford to lose, and there's nothing wrong in doing both of these (until someone develops some amount of guilt over their decisions in case they lose).

2703  Economy / Speculation / Re: where is the bitcoin price going? on: April 20, 2018, 02:47:23 PM
First of all, this should be in Speculation board of the forum as this is not a Bitcoin Discussion, but a discussion of its value.
Second, the value rose to the most important level of 7500 and has crossed it. Still, many big players are calling a correction that might take place once their stops are hit at $9k. I believe we are in the midst of a big war between the bulls and bears to decide where this market will be heading in May - as May used to be the month of sideways but this time it looks like a surge may come in the markets.
2704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and investment - different discussion on: April 19, 2018, 06:41:23 PM
I can't understand one thing here.
Gambling websites usually promote their sites as best web to visit for gambling and winning. They tell you: Come here and win big but also at the same time they offer investment option and here they say again - invest and profit much. Website profits when users lose money so..
This also at the same time means: Players lose much here, so invest in our bankroll to get huge profit with us.
Can't understand of those casinos..

The whole concept behind gambling is to lure players by projecting them that their desires may be met once they start doing such activities.
Gambler gambles, loses, gambles again, loses again, gambles back, wins but still in loss. He tries to recover and lose all.
This is the whole theory behind a gambler's story where house is the winner, but sometimes house loses on a big win by some 5% winners who take it all + surplus amounts from the capital of the company - that's where even investors lose. Risk management is the only thing that comes into action and saves those investors as what they choose will get them what they expected of it - Higher risk, higher rewards but then chances of losses are also high - same as gambling.
2705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Working together to watch promising icos on: April 19, 2018, 06:11:25 PM
Let's assume that we have started the work with each other and we don't consider any profits or anything - what's all this for?
To provide these reviews publicly or keep them to ourselves? As well, reviewing is not an easy task especially when it is about ICOs because most ICO devs and admins like to remain in dark by not coming upfront and I personally hate such ICOs, because if they're hesitant to being transparent, what's the guarantee that they will really do what they are promising to take investments for? Secondly, I would only prefer those having hard caps and no hidden clauses should come in front of us (by editing or changing their terms later on). Most preferably, I always go for ICOs that have something genuine rather than attractive, something that's a nice concept and that could help us in the real world - like Pundi X. I checked their whitepaper thoroughly and invested in their ICO and feeling great that I did, because they are now coming up with great surprises every day.
2706  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: It is NOT secure to use hardware wallets (and it never was) on: April 19, 2018, 05:21:14 PM
Nothing beats the paper wallet

Fire and water (and time) does.
What about this "steel" wallet?

https://cryptosteel.com/

Can't we even use those cheap memory cards in which we can store lots and lots of data with any sort of stuff or just private keys only?
Purchasing ~250 Memory Cards with just 2 GB memory will cost much less compared to what we need to pay for that steel thing. Wink
I believe that all of these 250 memory cards are not going to get corrupted at once (few may get corrupted, but not all of them).
Even 25 memory cards can save our Notepad file and have all our data stored without much hassle which we can easily access offline whenever we want to use our private keys to use our funds. Encryption of private keys and then keeping them safer in these memory cards is the best and cheapest way IMO.
2707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency kills people on: April 19, 2018, 05:05:26 PM
Yes, that's the correct way of explaining it.
Those who deal with it should choose the right side before complaining - showing transactions should not bother us if our Government supports our sentiments by allowing crypto in our country. Tax evasion is such a thing that even I don't support at any cost because this is why these Governments are not in favor of crypto (in most cases) and the dark side is also using this a lot and evading themselves from the chances of being caught. If we want this to succeed, we need to choose the right path and work on it to make a better tomorrow for crypto world. I strive to do everything in the interest of crypto and my country to make sure that I don't break any rules and do everything (better things) securely, yet safely.
2708  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 88% of Japanese have heard of bitcoin -- how about your country? -- on: April 19, 2018, 04:54:22 PM
I live in India and I can proudly say that almost 30% of Indians (which is quite a big number) know about Bitcoins.
But the worst part here is, the Government and media's mixture is trying their best to mislead everyone about its properties by saying that it is a get-rich-quick illegal thing that is purely based on speculation and possesses no real value and that - it's used mostly in illegal activities like smuggling, drugs selling, extortion, etc. Basically, they are adding all types of crimes to the name of Bitcoins to outlaw it from India. I still believe that there's some hope of light because there are exchanges which filed a case against the RBI (Reserve Bank of India) objecting their decision regarding regulated banks to immediately stop dealing with such entities who deal in cryptocurrencies.
2709  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: LOOKING FOR A COMPANY OR INDIVIDUALS TO HELP US HOLD AN ICO on: April 14, 2018, 03:48:05 PM
I would like to learn more about your project and if I find it interesting, I'll start working for you as a PROMOTER/MARKETEER and we'll decide the terms of payment likewise. Please don't mind, but let me ask you that what's the guarantee we'll get paid for our job once we complete it for you? I'm asking this only because you're new here as well as there's no such declaration about escrow.
2710  Economy / Speculation / Re: 60 minutes and Bitcoin value jumped to $7,800 on: April 13, 2018, 08:03:49 AM
There have been large (free) groups over telegram claiming that they've shorted and that the value of bitcoins will drop to 6k before it starts it's rebound towards its new ATH journey. All those WHALES have had been watching these shorts and decided to kill this opportunity for them by injecting a lot of money in it, buying back and ending their leveraged positions into huge losses. But this, I believe, is not the end of bear trend yet and it'll surely come to 6k and maybe even lower for it to complete the double bottom pattern, and then it'll spike back hard giving those extraordinary returns to all the users who buy in at those times. Remember, this doesn't look like a time to leverage, so don't do it if you're not familiar with the risks involved. Though, I believe that predictions are becoming harder for everyone out there, take my suggestion with a grain of salt and decide with utter knowledge and patience.
2711  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Any new forum member seeking to join a CryptoProject? on: April 13, 2018, 07:30:27 AM
I know about a few good writers if you need anything with the promotion of your project, do let me know if you really need some exceptional people to get in.
I find it a bit scary to share my telegram over here, can I send you a PM with the same to discuss more on this? Or you already have your required qouta filled?
2712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Recommend some Cryptocurrency wallet that is UI friendly to a Newbie? on: April 11, 2018, 07:19:36 PM
I believe that Electrum may suit all your needs and give you some fresh experience of low fee transactions through SegWit addresses (bech32 only ATM). I've had no experience of Electrum before I was first introduced to it as the one allowing SegWit transactions for the lowest fees, and I bet your experience will be better than any online wallets where you might have saved your piggybank coins till now. /jk
Don't forget to save your seed as you'll need it to restore your wallet back into the same/different device if you lose access to your wallet. You can also have your privkeys, and it also lets you sign messages (however, they can only be verified through Electrum).

Get Electrum here - https://electrum.org/#download
2713  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Stake on: April 11, 2018, 07:12:03 PM
For beginners who do not know what the stake ?. I think Stake is a gift that is given by the company when we have finished doing the task given by the company.

Yes, it is a reward that you get for doing your job. But, allocating an exact amount would be worthless for a project because many people do half or some % of their job, and they need to be rewarded accordingly. As well, each person deserves a different reward based on their rank here. So, to classify things, stakes are allocated to users in order to keep it easy for Manager to manage their bounty campaign smoothly.
2714  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (Round 5) on: April 09, 2018, 07:50:50 PM
I am interested to become a sponsor. merit and money both. but only if you show me some improvement in this forum. because I am not seeing any quality and improvement anywhere... every thread is full of spammers and shitposters.

You think we people are fools here who are trying their best to make this forum a noteworthy place, as well as a place to stop by in regards of gaining knowledge about Bitcoins and the crypto space?

Quote
anyway. I have 90 Smerits and a lot of bitcoins. let me know when you need some.

Edit: heard a lot about my trust. so please don't start this topic here spammers.

Have you ever loved or been loved by someone?
I guess NO. Because then, you might have known that love is unconditional, you don't need to show off in front of anyone if you really care. Now, my final words to you - KEEP CALM, KEEP YOUR MERITS, SPEND YOUR MONEY WITH SOME NATASHAS AND GTFO.  Angry
2715  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Any genuine Virtual Credit Card Sellers here? on: April 07, 2018, 08:33:47 PM
Not accepting Bitcoins for now due to major fall in market lol !
And yeah i can understand..Lemme confirm you one thing, if the VCC won't work , you get a 100% refund!(Well as you see i don't want a RED MARK in my profile because i have lots to sell in future Tongue).. But not less than 5$  ! If you want to purchase many , how about you buy 1 and check it out if it serves you purpose then you can buy more! I am based in India and i myself use these VCC to create AWS Accounts (You can also purchase direct AWS Accounts from me if interested)!

If you agree then please come via ICQ or SKYPE ~

If not bitcoins, what other method can you offer me to pay you for the cards? Trust me, PayPal is ridiculous. Ethereum or any other crypto?
And if I'm interested in bulk once I get those VCCs working, can't you keep the price $1 lower? I believe that getting a business is much more necessary that sticking to our own requirements. You use which VCCs? Indian or USA? Please send me your Skype ID in PM, let's see what I can do here.
2716  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge: Win $25 + 8 Merits every week! (Round 5) on: April 07, 2018, 07:01:39 PM
He did the wrong thing that I did
I wanted to advise him
So as not to return it or not in trouble
I think I changed my dealings on the site for the better
If I were not, please let me know, and I hope that I will not make any mistakes

Two days left
I will send a message to delete the negative confidence

Mistake? Really?
I'm quite surprised how are you even able to post here while plagiarizing other people's posts. If I understand correctly, those who "COPY & PASTE", get banned immediately by one of the mods here. You seem to be quite lucky, huh!

Anyways Joe,
Congratulations to you for another successful week and all the participants who did very well in this.
Aw man, we're getting bigger and better a community we always wished to have! Smiley
As promised, I've merited this post of bitmover and didn't go for their chosen posts. I hope there's no such rule, though. Tongue
2717  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can SegWit really be a proven solution (or at least an alt) even for the future? on: April 07, 2018, 06:51:32 PM
Segwit is not a the scaling solution for bitcoin, but it is a step in the right direction.
The goal is to reduce the individual sizes of transactions so more of them can fit in a block.

The Lightning Network will also play a part, by offloading lots of micropayments off the blockchain.

I know that SegWit was not being seen as a way to scale the transactions, but either way it is doing that only by letting users get more discounts over fees if they had more inputs per address. Thing I am not sure about is, will these discounts be manipulated the way we saw during the ATH time period of Bitcoins?

LN- A way out?

Many propose that Lightning network may be a way out. LN creates a direct channel between two parties with which they can do unlimited transactions without even touching blockchain. So this is sure that it will reduce the amount of load from the blockchain. So for next 4-5 years LN would really be enough in terms of both costs and time.

LN has its own limits and blockchain is something that is perfect to show the transactions publicly (if and only if, people want to keep track of their transactions). I guess you won't be able to create channels with exchanges to send them your Bitcoins directly without broadcasting it to the whole network? And if it is so, the exchanges will be working over Blockchain for a period of at least a decade (if not less) in order to keep a track following the rules (and/or regulations of their country). So, when the transactions will increase, will there be this transaction malleability spam and if the network gets congested back, will SegWit be able to keep the fees as low as the normal fee we used to pay in 2015?
2718  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Can anything replace Blockchain? on: April 07, 2018, 06:39:47 PM
There used to be old times when things were too old and we didn't knew anything.
Take a typewriter, then came PC, then Laptop for more convenience and then we are seeing high quality mobiles and tablets overtaking them.
As with each new era, there came a new technology to replace old one with its upgrade.
Will there be any more advanced technology than blockchain that could replace it and be more precise than this?
I know that blockchain is something we can call as perfect ATM, but is there anything that could still beat this technology and overtake this?
2719  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Intel will integrated mining accelerator, reducing energy consumption up to 35% on: April 07, 2018, 06:30:48 PM
Efficiency in energy may be one thing but the eventual factor will be cost. If miners can still purchase ASICs at cheaper manufacturing, and if they cost less to maintain or replace, Intel's chipmaking will have a tough time keeping up. That 35% advantage is lab conditions too. Let's see if it shows up in real use.

The patenting indicates the cost will already be at a premium. Still. Good for competition.

What can these accelerators do exactly? I mean, I need a bit more information over this.
Any sources to learn more about this? Is it something that increases the hashes/sec using low electrical units by overclocking the hardware already installed for mining, for eg.; ASICs? This is seriously interesting and I want to learn more about mining part and how will the blockchain work ahead once such competition arises. Will these increase the difficulty ratio or keep it the same but decrease the amount of electricity it consumes in order to gain the same amount of hashes that these hardwares are already getting?
2720  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Can SegWit really be a proven solution (or at least an alt) even for the future? on: April 07, 2018, 05:56:41 PM
I have seen and admire the use of SegWit transactions over anything now, but we can't deny the fact that the number of transactions have also lowered down compared to what we witnessed during Bitcoin becoming mainstream, and not just that but those spam attacks. When I speak about transactions, it's because of the FUD being created by many countries over crypto by banning activities being conducted by their citizens (recent example: India). I believe that crypto is the future, but will SegWit will still be able to keep up with the amount of users who will join once this becomes something kinda FREEDOM TO KEEP, FREEDOM TO TRADE & FREEDOM TO GIVE? I am seeing some fluctuations still, I'm not worried even if few of my transactions take a few hours to confirm. But will these low costs continue to cater the futuristic users?
