hello,

after update whatsminer m32 to newest firmware, the hashrate is not shown correct (every time much higher than average)
and the power consumption cant be read / is not showing. same FW on m21s shows the power consumption

Can you please send me the API Report (via the toolbar: Tools -> API Report) for both these miners. I should be able to correct this quite fast with the reports. Thanks!
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: January 25, 2022, 02:10:44 PM
Hi everyone,

I'm trying to test if the mining pool works using Awesome Miner and I'm getting the `..retry after 30 seconds` error in the console. I've tried googling but didn't find anything helpful. As far as I understand, it connects to the pool successfully but fails to mine. I've tried running Awesome Miner as admin as well as with disabled antivirus and firewall but that didn't seem to help.

In the Awesome Miner logs, the only error I found was this one:

24/01/2022 17:42:27.830 [057] [E]Failed to download string from: https://api2.nicehash.com/main/api/v2/public/stats/global/current/

System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

Which is strange because this doesn't seem like something that would prevent mining. Mining pool port is open and telnet connects to it successfully. If anyone could help me figure out what's wrong, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Full AwesomeMiner.txt:

Console output:

It looks like the pool configuration isn't correct and that you manually tried to add some command line arguments for it.

Please open the properties for your Managed Miner. Use the field "Pool" to define your mining pool and use Actions -> New Pool if you didn't define a pool already. Next go to the Command Line section and remove any custom parameters you added.
284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: January 25, 2022, 02:06:35 PM
Hi Patrike, can you pls. improve Coin properties dialog window. Example:
For TONCOIN i can only get profitability in TONCOINS per GH/s daily, but at the moment profitability can only be set in BTC/GH/Day
If you improve this part of Coin properties, please add a possibility for dynamicaly price update for custom coin also.
Regards
Thanks for the feature suggestion.

If you define your own coin, it should be fully possible to go to the Coins tab, open the properties for the coin and then use the Dynamic update feature.
285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: January 17, 2022, 09:33:26 AM
Good day

Is this feature compatible with the Canaan AvalonMiner 1166 Pro 81TH?

Thanks for your question. In the past the source was called "Antminer chip" but these days it's called "ASIC chip" and it works on Avalon as well.

Suddenly my miners stopped displaying temperatures for all but one cards in my rigs. How to fix that?

This is a configurable behavior. Please go to the Options dialog, Appearance section. Change the "Temperature display" setting to "All temperatures"

I've set a custom URL for now.

Thanks!

Hi Jim,

Thanks for your report and I'm sorry for responding slow here. As you pointed out we was initially linking to a beta-version and the final download link was later changed. You might have noticed that we corrected this a few days ago and also released more recent versions after that.

Hi patrike,

I have sometimes a problem with CPU mining. I do profit switching with my cpu´s and sometimes AM doesn´t close the miner when it switch to another algo. So i have very often more than 1 cpu miner running on the same rig - sometimes are more than 10 cpu miner running simultaneous.
And since the last update, i have a similar problem for cpu mining without profitswitching. The miner runs normal and after some time, AM say miner is not running but it is still running and start a new instance for cpu mining.
This problem happens with low end CPU´s and high end CPU´s.

Many AM versions back this all runs smoother in my opinion.
Can you please send me the log files for this scenario and I will of course investigate. Thanks!
291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: January 04, 2022, 10:42:02 AM
Hi Patrike,

we filled the field additional operating cost (per day) with 1 Euro (in Options/Profitability) but the profit per day/month is not changing - no matter what value we use?!

BR Ralf
Hi Ralf,

Thanks for your question.

Additional operating cost globally (via the Options dialog, Profitability section) will only affect the total "Profit per day" and "Profit per month" displayed on the dashboard. It will not change anything on the miner itself, as this it's a global mining farm cost and not a per-miner cost

To configure an additional cost per miner, please use the concept of Profit Profiles (configured via the Options dialog, Profit Profiles section). Each miner can have one Profit Profile. In the Profit Profile properties, you will find the "Power and cost" section where you can add costs per miner.
292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: January 04, 2022, 10:32:07 AM
Hi Patrike, thanks for ver. 9.1.3, now i can see all GPU temps on main window. Can you please put a power consumption of rig which used Generic miner software. At least i can write some watchdogs rules to control mining process based on power consumtion and also user can quickly control if some rig consume less energy as needed.
Another thing: why if rig configured as managed miner and custom software will be used i cant use GPU selection in miner property window . This field is in locked state. Huh
And please improve a dialog window for uploading custom software, if upload is failed some error description will be nice to see. Many my rigs is connected over VPN and i am not understand why sometimes upload process ends with status "Failed" After that i use scp command and uploading works perfekt. The uploading process to destination Linux machine must be improved. For that i need to see error reports.
Regards.
Hi Patrike, small bug. In rules names using of symbol "<" causes problem with dysplaing of name. User will see <b> tags in name text. AM 9.1.3
And can you please initialize a mining time variable if using custom software, need for creating some rules.
Can you please add blue color for card temperature to track cold cards opticaly.
Regards

Thanks for the update and for all feedback.

I will look into the power consumption for this scenario as well. In general the concept is related to having a mining pool with a known coin, but I will review possible improvements for your scenario.

GPU selection is only available for custom software where you have set the compatibility to either "Full" or "Command line", as these are the only two cases where Awesome Miner knows how to setup the device selection parameters.

The upload feature has a certain timeout that you might run into, where Awesome Miner considers the upload to fail if it takes too long time to complete.

294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: December 27, 2021, 01:03:51 PM
Hi Patrike, i have converted miners in "Managed Profit Miner" state and configured this miner with Generic miner wich was uploaded to rig Linux system. All work good, but in main view i cant see the temperature and power consumption of the cards in rig. The cards temperature and wattage only can be viewed in down part of main window in GPU tab. Can you please improve AM to show this information in main list view of miners like usualy in "Manged Profit Miner" state. Option "Enable GPU monitoring for Generic Miner" is activated for each miner.
Regards and Mary Christmas.
Thanks for the feedback. We will improve this in the next release, to include the temperature readings in the miner list as well for this scenario.

Hi Patrike found another bug. I want upload a custom miner software to the Linux rig. This custom mining software folder contain a subfolders with different files, but after uploading AM has created a miner folder in "/root/.local/share/AwesomeMinerService/UploadedSoftware" with miner name without subfolders. The subfolders was put like a files with names: 'bin\cuda-18'  'bin\cuda-20'  'config\config.json'  'data\empty'
Looks like this is old problem with unpacking on Linux systems. The subfolders/files strukture will be wrong copied to destination.
I use AM ver. 9.1 at the moment.
Regards
Thanks for this report as well. This will be corrected in the next release.
295  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: December 27, 2021, 01:02:03 PM
I add new coin into my Awesome Miner. But Dynamic update is unable to read value from: https://explorer-us.avn.network/api/getdifficulty.
Please help me
Thanks for your question. When trying with this URL, I do see a value like this in the Response output:
"1098.537839547397"

Awesome Miner is also showing this value in the dialog to indicate it was read successful.

Are other Dynamic update sources working in your case or are all of them failing?

Is there a way to add my own miner for a particular coin?
Yes, in most cases this is possible.

This is a good starting point:
https://support.awesomeminer.com/support/solutions/articles/35000086018-managed-software-add-and-customize-mining-software

Are you using the profit switcher and for a certain algorithm, you want a custom mining software? If you right click on a Managed Profit Miner and select Edit Profit Profile, you will find a list of algorithms. By selecting an algorithm you can modify the mining software to use for this specific algorithm.

Could you post the changelog to the L3+ firmware update 3.9? Thank you!
We will add this to our web site soon.
299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner] - Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 200000 miners on: December 15, 2021, 07:21:44 PM
is it normal, that in newest Awesome miner firmware i cant set Firmware mining profile anymore? i get "not supported" with first S9 i tried with this new FW

downgrade to 3.8.6 is also not possible anymore?!

whats going on in the firmware section?

and i really still need a hint how to manage Braiins OS+ miners...at least pool config and reboot should work...pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease  Grin
We will very soon release Awesome Miner 9.1 to support the Mining Profile configuration in combination with S9 firmware v3.9.

BraiinsOS is supported for monitoring but the operation support is limited. As most of our users are either running the Bitmain default firmware our the Awesome Miner firmware, these are the two prioritized firmware for Awesome Miner.

In case you can enable SSH on BraiinsOS, can you use this to at least be able to reboot the miner?
so your advice is "use other services and dont buy more licenses, cause it is only for monitoring, which can be done on other platforms for free"?!

liked your tool and all - but...with no effort to get other firmware than vnish to work...it´s a shame...sorry!
also the new 3.9.0 - no way to flash other firmware...you should point to it...but you be silent and take additional dev fee for...what?! (vnish 1,8% - your software 3% or license +2%)

again..dont get me wrong...your tool is great...but service - get worse over time
Thanks for your feedback. It's always a matter of priorities. We would love to support 100% of all ASIC miners and 100% of all firmware combinations out there, but as this isn't realistic we must prioritize based on where we have a demand. So far we have not seen much demand for BraiinsOS and this is the reason why the support is limited. This was simply to answer why the support for BraiinsOS is limited today (low demand) - it was not a statement that we never will improve the BraiinsOS integration. We have made a number of adjustments to Awesome Miner in the past to make it more compatible with custom firmware. If there is a demand, we will of course look into it.

I always listen and make notes of all suggestions and requests we get. Based on that we try to make as many users as happy as possible. So your feedback is appreciated.

To answer your question about the dev fee. It's the same for Awesome Miner and all other Vnish firmware. The only exception is for S9 where we have the 3% edition as well. All Vnish based firmware has 2% mining fee for S9 and 3% mining fee for S17. The number 2% is by some marketed as 1.8% as it's closer to 1.8% on average over a longer period of time, while 2% is the maximum at any given moment. We call it 2% to make it simple, while the true average number is actually a bit lower (closer to 1.8%).

For Antminer S17 the dev fee is 3% for all Vnish based firmware, including the Awesome Miner Antminer firmware. The benefit of running the Awesome Miner version of the firmware is that we give you the management and monitoring via Awesome Miner at no additional cost.

We have considered to use the number 1.8% and 2.8% instead of 2% and 3% to avoid any confusion when comparing firmwares.

Version 3.9 includes a new signature check for the firmware in order to prevent Antminer viruses from taking over your Antminer.  There are unfortunately Antminer viruses out that causing major issues for those getting their Antminers infected. This signature check is the reason why a downgrade will be rejected via the web interface. Flashing via SD-card will of course still work so you can change to any other firmware if you want.

UPDATE: I looked into BraiinsOS and BraiinsOS+ and have implemented support for the Reboot and Default Pools operations.

Hi Patrike, uncompressing of t-rex 0.24.8 archive is wrong on AM 9.1 & 9.1.1 (unpacking archive in working folder issue) Regards
Hello and thanks for your report. We pushed a software definition update for this about 2 hours ago. We put T-Rex on our download server instead. Can you please give it a try.
