281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel excited while gambling on: February 23, 2024, 01:51:42 PM
For someone like me to have thought of going for gambling alone is an excitement on itself because i will feel like having fun with gambling as am more in disposition for that during my leisure time, gambling is all about being entertained, the excitement should not only comes in when we are winning while gambling, we should always remember the purpose for gambling and the reason why we are going for it in the first place, this will be our courage each time we are gambling whether wining or not, we will be so excited
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: February 23, 2024, 11:46:51 AM
As there is always a house edge winning over a gambler, we should just take it as it is that we often loose than we win when gambling and i don't think that this should be a problem onus since we are well aware that gambling should be for fun, when gambling, we should avoid being too desperate for a win, this will shift our focus on the fun benefits and advantage we had in it to how much we are able to derived from it.
283  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: NYSC scheme is another failed structure that could have helped our economy. on: February 23, 2024, 11:10:38 AM
Wouldn't it be more reasonable to send this NYSC members to industrial areas that will expose them to what's obtainable in most industrial setting or to look for ways to improve on our agricultural system rather than sending them to teach the regular maths and physics in school?

It more better that the Government should make considerations in putting the NYSC scheme a top most priority on how they can help improve lives of the youth, its not easy for someone to have served his country for a complete one year and have nothing to gain at the end to secure a job with, instead they release them into their own fate to find a survival means for themselves, when the government could position them all to replace all the employment vacant spots in the work settings considering that people are getting retired every year from work and they equally needs replacements.
284  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Solar systems will be the way out on: February 23, 2024, 10:17:27 AM
Solar system can be an alternative and not the way out in these we are into, because it can only provides with a temporary solution and not a permanent one, you can considers the way people make use of the system to power low voltage devices and we can not apply such as being applicable for the same use on an industrial level, what we needed is to maintain the way the government will focus their interest on increasing the power grid supply from the source under the electricity power distribution, made some changes and help the situation to develop the sector for maximum productivity.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 22, 2024, 01:18:20 PM
People are goin even to that extent of using their last penny to gamble, i don't know the kind of conviction such may have but its totally a bad idea to do so, we are not sure of anything we do in gambling, its only take luck and risk to gamble and win, whereas in most cases, we don't even manage to make win, if we are indeed interested about making profits, then we should just go to making business or investment and not with gambling.
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Recovering gambling addict stories on: February 22, 2024, 12:44:46 PM
If we are not being careful, gambling can take away everything we have and before we realized that, we might have seen that all is gone already, some people can go to the extent of taking loan to gamble, while some may sell off their own property and investment just because they wanted to gamble, the last categories are those that are making little earnings from what they do and still couldn't afford to make some savings than gambling with the whole earnings, all these are bad habits in gambling.
287  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Forex Crisis: FG plans to clampdown on Binance, and other crypto exchanges on: February 22, 2024, 12:09:33 PM
Their worst nightmare, they should just try it and see, it wont be funny at all, all they could think is to impose the same ban like the way they did on X formerly known as twitter, exchanges are the ones responsible for their economy failures, naira keep devaluating daily because the government is doing nothing to help the people out, instead they are busy spending the federal money and allocations' alone and the consequences is quite showing on the economy we are having now.
288  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: From the arrest of BDC operators to Binance and other crypto manipulating on: February 22, 2024, 11:02:57 AM
Because of naira price that is decreasing in value, the government are looking for ways to make the price to increase. They found illegal means of importing goods but which is not new to us. That is better. But they started arresting BDC operators again which is uncalled for. Yesterday, they are contemplating about crypto exchanges.

What this present government are missing out is much, they cannot because of the recent rise in exchange rate think that it was attributed to the crypto exchanges, are the exchanges abusing the exchange rate or manipulating it, are we to also blame the forex traders or any entity that makes use of UDS for their import and export services, we are talking about the economy of the country in general going dilapidated and the government aren't seeing that they are the ones out of their selfish interest causing all these to be happening, go to the market today and see if all the product you will be buying aren't china made, yet we are complaining of exchange rate, when we are much living under dependencies on US, China and UK.

Why should a presidential aide be saying what he does not know but which is a misconception. Buyers and sellers are creating their ads and set their own prices on Binance which is based on the parallel market.

What is the work of the CBN, who is giving the BDC foreign currencies to exchange, i learnt that of recent, the the central bank of Nigeria increase the standard exchange rate on USD, what is really happening, their incompetence's is just getting too much, and they are beating around the bush to find who is at fault over the economy retrogress.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wednesday had been my bad day to gamble. on: February 21, 2024, 02:41:45 PM
Anyway, some will say it is just a superstitious belief but what if it keeps on happening?
How about you? Do you have that one day when you feel like you are not even winning whatever you do or whatever game you play?

It cannot keep on happening, what about you trying to gamble on ither days of the week, do you make wins at all in them, you can even gamble everyday and continue to loss for two weeks on a stretch, only if we can consider the fact that we often loose in gambling than we make win, but we can choose some particular days base on our own personal believes, time or work schedules.
290  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: COULD THIS BE CALLED ADAPTATION? on: February 21, 2024, 01:24:36 PM
Is very funny how we complain about so many things going wrong in our economy but at end everyone we tend to grow a thicker skin and adapt to the system and it will be seen like nothing happened within a Short time, now my question is, should we keep adapting and growing a thicker skin? or we should be expecting war, because i don't really understand where our government is taking us to, alot is really happening. What is your opinion on this?

Its nothing other than suffering and smiling, its a race of the survival of the fittest, i also wonder on the same situation whereby you discover many people are complaining on how bad the economy is and yet, if you go to the market, you will be surprised on the rate people are buying and selling and the markets are moving, then i wonder how they were able to get the affordability despise the inflation that is ongoing, so this has brought me to my conclusion that whether things are cost or not in the market, we should only focus on a purchasing ability because while we are complaining, many others are not being worried and they are buying and selling, we should get adapt to this.
291  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rated 6th Among the Top Global Currencies on: February 21, 2024, 09:23:22 AM
Nah, that's an incorrect statistic, he just want to make US is better than China and make Bitcoin looks bigger when the reality Bitcoin is definitely big, not that big yet.

https://fiatmarketcap.com/

Will these governments try to restrain the use of bitcoin or just try to accept it and join the development of cryptocurrencies? Will there come a time that Bitcoin is the Number 1 currency in the world?
Many governments already restrain people to use Bitcoin as currency, but they mostly allow people to invest in Bitcoin because they can tax it. Bitcoin become number 1 currency in the world is still long to go... but I'm sure it will happen.

source

Maybe you can check on this as well, is Bitcoin not worth the global standard rate, comparing with the other investment asset, it's on of the top rated, alot to discover in bitcoin, if it can covers $1.04 trillion of the total crypto asset of $1.9 trillion.

Bitcoin has come to stay, invest today and hodl.

This is good but I was thinking that bitcoin is the top of all the currencies in the world. And I have been saying that bitcoin has come and nobody can remove it from the space. The prediction of bitcoin is still near and far. It is near because the halving is near and after the halving we will enter the bull market and it is far because the real bull is from next year and everyone is waiting for the bull. And now that we have not reach the peak, it is the time to accumulate more in the portfolio and when the time comes then, you sell. Purchase now and hodle.

Additionally you can look on this from above.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Wins: Your Money Was Returned to You. on: February 20, 2024, 01:40:49 PM
OP, like you said, some people usually make wins on their first attempt at gambling. That's true, but I also want to specifically say that the only people that win on their first attempt at gambling are very few. If gamblers are 100%, those who were lucky to win on their first attempt are not more than 20%, if at all it's even up to that percent.

A newbie gambler will rarely make win when he started except by luck, which makes it that whenever we are gambling, we should be more focused on the fun and entertainment we are going to benefit from it and not the money to make out of it, gambling is mostly by luck and not even the experience gamblers make this same fortune of winning consistently each time they are gambling, we cannot make demands on winning just because we needed finances for our personal purpose, winning sometimes comes at will, when we least expect them coming.
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: February 20, 2024, 11:31:08 AM
Although, I had more money on  my account that I can use for transporting my self back to my house if incase I lost the physical cash, that was why I wasn't afraid to stake with it.

As you already said, i cant also make a decision of gambling with my last card with the hope of winning from it when i have no alternative, that will just be a foolish behavior of me if i did so, but when am having the last card with me and i feels like am not obligated to using it on any specific purpose, then i can afford gambling with it, we just have to understand this, that the money we cant risk to loose, shouldn't be used for gambling.

296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Rated 6th Among the Top Global Currencies on: February 20, 2024, 09:13:54 AM

source

At global monetary value, bitcoin is top 6th using the analysis of market capitalization while comparing to other existing fiat currencies, this is a significant difference that makes bitcoin be among the top rated because of it's unique value and increasing rate of adoption as the market cap continues to surge ahead other long term existing fiat currencies.

We had this happening even before the great occasion of the 2024 halving began when bitcoin break the first ever recorded of $1 trillion dollars, while it could be recalled that it was after the previous 2020 halving it marked it's all time market cap high, unlike having the experience right before the halving begun this time, this also shows a significant increase in adoption and how bitcoin have been seen as a preferred digital currency or investment asset globally.

Bitcoin has come to stay, invest today and hodl.

297  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria and the Current State of its Economy on: February 19, 2024, 04:11:46 PM
2. There's no plan on increasing the employment rate and minimum wage, what will be the effect of these on the country leaders of tomorrow.
The government workers and also workers generally will suffer because goods and services are increasing in price significantly.

And the government are doing nothing to ameliorate any of these challenges, i dont even see the presence of the roles some of these government agencies are playing, are they ll sleeping in their various offices without working on something tangible to lay hold on as hope for the masses even though its not realistic.

3. Are we having an incompetent leader or the people around him are the ones causing the uproar for their own benefits, we can remember this, that the truth will always prevail, any illegal achievement will not last for good, because the foundation is evil, is there nothing wrong with the last conducted election.
Obviously our leaders are not competent.

I thought we are done with the era of old leaders handling the affairs of the country ever since independence, we are not getting the new generation as leaders, maybe many of us are still yet prepared enough to learn from the past mistakes, democracy is a government kind of regime that permits the people to express themselves and not to keep quite in silent while suffering, its high time to SORO SOKE (speak out).

1. Will a massive and national protest not emerge soon like that of End SARS, as the people were getting to their elastic limit on economy hardship.
According to my perception about the economy of Nigeria today, it's certain that there "might" be a revolution, according to the accounts of famine in the holy bible, it got to a time where people began to eat their children,

We just hope that this doesn't come, but there must be something done to avoid it, maybe the revolution as you have suggested, but i hope they wont do the worst than the one engaged during the #End Sars procession in Lagos Toll Gate.
298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling friendly countries on: February 19, 2024, 01:44:35 PM
We all know that gambling income is heavily taxed in most of the countries. This is because most of the countries have separate taxes for the gambling related income. I want to know which are the most gambling friendly countries which charge very less or nil income tax on gambling winnings ?

Many countries could be gambling friendly as they permit for their citizens to enjoy in the participation of any gambling activities but going by the ones that charges less on income tax payment from gamblers winning, we can not have many countries under this category except for the developed ones where they consistently managed and regulate the gambling sectors, the gamblers make win and proceeds  to catch out, left for the gambling platforms to know how they make a substitute on tax payments with the regulatory bodies.
299  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Nigeria and the Current State of its Economy on: February 19, 2024, 12:29:01 PM
Nigeria in West Africa was once known to be the giant of Africa, lets start by its way of politics before going straith into the economy discussions in proper, it has been a country that has no prevailance of diversity until the political era set in after the independence and the leaders could not control themselves anymore than going after their personal agenders instead of the public interest, Its now a thing of freedom for any political candidate who betray the people and the government not to face the court of law, because immunity covers them, while an average citizen may steal a loaf of bread and landed into prison.

Now lets focus on the current economy situation in proper, am such a person that doest like much of politics because of the dirty games they play in it, but if we are to look back to the era of Goodluck Jonathan to this time, we can see that alot of things have gone wrong so badly with the economy and this has nothing than the influence of the selfish political parties and their interests, inflation is now the order of the day as the people could hardly or barely afford to make ends meets on a daily basis, we all know the implication of this at the long run, there will be increasing poverty and crime rate.

Going further into the economy crisis ongoing, the government could not help in any means to put a stop into this, instead, things keep getting worse and worse everyday, currently you can see the way things are very expensive in the market due to inflation because of exchange rate due to naira devaluation, currently as at today, you can exchange naira to dollar at $1 to be #1,700 and still increasing as we speak.

I will like us to discuss broadly on any of the possible highlights i will be dropping below and give our own opinions on the about the current state of the economy.

1. Will a massive and national protest not emerge soon like that of End SARS, as the people were getting to their elastic limit on economy hardship.

2. There's no plan on increasing the employment rate and minimum wage, what will be the effect of these on the country leaders of tomorrow.

3. Are we having an incompetent leader or the people around him are the ones causing the uproar for their own benefits, we can remember this, that the truth will always prevail, any illegal achievement will not last for good, because the foundation is evil, is there nothing wrong with the last conducted election.

4. If nothing is done, we should expect the economy to keep getting worst than ever, but i doubt if its not causing a lot of innocent people already as ransom.

lets discuss.
300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't trust your old wallet of when u had no Crypto knowledge on: February 19, 2024, 10:45:08 AM
To the rest of us in the forum, I am to let you know that if you have created a crytop wallets before probably during your ignorant eras such as when you never had the security knowledges of Bitcoin and your wallet, which you may have in anyway exposed your private and security phrases to others due to your previous lack of crypto and wallets understanding, you are advised to dump the wallet and creat a new wallet with a newly generated private and security phrases which you can now keep carefully and privately to your best of safe mode.

It all start from here, what you should do and not.

1. Don't make use of a custodial wallet.
2. Don't make your private keys vulnerable to anyone
3. Learn to maintain and practice security and privacy
4. Don't use any old or existing wallet you don't know if it has been compromised or not
5. Make sure that you also cross check, validate and be rest assured of the steps you're taking in using a particular wallet, don't share devices with other people and don't allow them to help you set up your wallet, even when you're once a newbie, discard the old one set up by other people for you and create your own by yourself.
