281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5.00 CGPA or 5 BTC? on: February 22, 2024, 10:45:56 AM
CGPA does not directly correlate to a better job, since it depends entirely on the person who has it and the job they are going to take, so why are you comparing two things which are fundamentally different? 5 BTC is like $250K in these current prices, of course you know which one everybody's going to choose.

It's like asking someone to choose between a college diploma or 5 BTC.
That's true; a high GPA doesn't guarantee you a future, nor does a college diploma. On top of that, GPA and paid universities are US things; if I'm not mistaken, most European countries don't work that way. There's zero correlation between bitcoins and grades; thus, there's no reason to compare the two. Everyone is going to choose the money over some meaningless GPA because college also requires a ton of money—no money, no college degree. You can have an average GPA and still do fine in college and land a decent job, with or without a degree; something you do as a teenager doesn't necessarily have to reflect your whole life.
282  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Couple won the jackpot but split soon after! on: February 22, 2024, 08:01:10 AM
Even if the guy is telling the truth, he made the mistake that every man does where they make decisions emotionally instead of being practical. If he hadn't had her name written on the back of the card, this rule of the owner being the person having their name written on the back of the card wouldn't bother him, but he didn't think of it this way, and they didn't know that they are going to win such a big prize when buying the tickets.

It's unfortunate for him if he tried to pay for the tickets but the transaction didn't go through and now she is using this point against him that she paid for the tickets and she is the legal owner of the tickets which is a valid point even if it's unethical and she shouldn't be doing this if they were in a relationship.

It's their choice, but if the whole story is true, she is not doing the right thing.
The article later mentions that the transaction did go through but was delayed due to a bad signal. The cashier in the shop also confirmed it. Therefore, although she appears to be the legal owner of the ticket, it's actually him who paid for the tickets, and something like this can also be proved. In my opinion, since the ticket was bought by the two of them, the money should be split 50/50. It seems to me that she got greedy, and knowing that they weren't married and that the ticket was in her name, she could run away with the money and dump him. What a shallow human being.

In any case, this man dodged a bullet by breaking up with this woman.
283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: February 22, 2024, 06:24:53 AM
Yeah binance launchpool is another Possible earning opportunity where anyone can join or stake according to their Budget. Maybe less amount of money doesn't bring you good rewards but atleast it'll bring something to you, which is good enough. Recently i stake some amount in pixels. And i was waiting for trade whenever it get listed but i was busy. Actually its common that, If binance launchpool a project then that means it'll pump 5-10x even more. That's why many of us waiting for that. And that's why it is hard to buy earlier to sell with more value
I don't think it's possible to acquire the listed coin before it's listed on the exchange or Launchpool, unless there was a presale going on sometime before it was announced on Binance. No matter how much money you'll farm through the platform, you'll still earn more than regular staking in USDT or FDUSD would get you, so it's a win-win situation. I haven't sold my Pixels yet, but I remain confident.

Actually, a little after my previous post, another coin portal was announced and listed today, February 22 at 00:00 UTC, and will be available for 7 days.

285  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: February 21, 2024, 07:10:35 AM
A little late update: Pixels was listed on Binance on Monday at 10:00 UTC. It's listed price was $0.04, but it immediately climbed up to $0.45 per coin, and within a couple of hours it surpassed $0.60, beating our previous predictions and reaching as high as $0.70, but only for a brief moment. This time, I decided to hold these coins for a little while. I was contemplating selling them at $0.60, which would have resulted in an over $70 profit, but I was busy at the time, so the price later dropped and I missed my opportunity. Now it's trading at $0.50~ and I'm planning to risk it and hold for a while; in the worst-case scenario, I'll lose some of my profit.

Unfortunately, another Launchpool project is yet to be announced.
286  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit didnt help me as Gambling Addicted - not closing main account on time on: February 20, 2024, 09:59:47 AM
Consider this a second chance to resolve your gambling addiction. This gesture is extremely generous from Rollbit's side, and I'm honestly dumbfounded. I doubt that any other casino would proceed with refunding your deposit plus an extra $500 for an inconvenience; I personally wouldn't, which was mostly caused by miscommunication from your side, as I wasn't the only one mentioning that you could have specified your needs better. Don't waste your money gambling again and use it to seek professional assistance. You won't get another shot; don't mess it up.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Knowing when to own your bitcoin on: February 17, 2024, 07:16:17 PM
I'll go ahead and congratulate you, it's a great achievement and an over 2.5x return on your investment. I don't really care if the OP is lying or not, but I can understand why some are a little sceptical, because a few newbies had attempted to farm merit through their topics. Good luck to you and I hope you continue investing in Bitcoin.
288  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador's success? on: February 17, 2024, 03:44:40 PM
Bukele is definitely not some sort of Messiah or anything and he has his own ulterior motives which anyone with a half-decent brain can see, but he still deserved to be re-elected since he definitely did more good than bad.

He is way, way better than filth like Kim Jong Un, Trump etc who have consistently done more bad than good during their leadership.
Some claim that he was a part of the gang underworld as well, which played a vital role in eradicating crime and gang violence. Certainly, he's not a Messiah, but so far it seems that he has solved an ongoing issue that was causing thousands of deaths and was burdening the economy in the process.
It seems that you don't know the condition of society and Bitcoin in the country of El Salvador, where even the El Salvador government itself has long formalized Bitcoin as a legal currency used by the public in any case in their own country. And this year the country of El Salvador has also succeeded in creating a Bitcoin learning curriculum for their school students who are generally still very young but have been able to experience the knowledge of Bitcoin in a more complete way.

Meanwhile, for any transactions that do not include transactions in prohibited goods such as drugs, people in El Salvador themselves can also freely use whatever currency they want. But when it comes to crime or drugs, of course using cash as usual will make it easier for those who do this to hide from the authorities in that country. Because as long as the country of El Salvador was led by Bukele, there were many gangs that he eradicated in order to make the country of El Salvador safer as well as continuing to organize it quite beautifully.
Excuse me but the user you quoted has no idea what he's talking about, this wasn't even the subject of this topic. Relative to what you mentioned, I doubt that Bitcoin had any role in payments between gang activity, cash is king in such instances.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why in some religion gambling is forbidden? on: February 17, 2024, 01:00:22 PM
Talking about Christianity, it didn't only talk about greed of the love for money but it also condemned it in the bible when the gamblers were seen in the act of gambling and were chased away and that I think signifies those who desire to come close to God should avoid involving themselves in it. But these things don't work that way as more people in the Christendom find themselves gambling even publicly and this is because many feel they can make ends meet with gambling in this harsh economy.
It's quite possible; I haven't read the Bible, but I wouldn't be surprised if it explicitly mentioned that gambling is a sin. As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm an atheist and can't say I'm too bothered about what religion or the Bible says. It wouldn't affect me either way. However, if you take into account the Bible, a lot of things we do on a daily basis, or at least quite frequently, are considered sins. Thus, why should anyone take into consideration whether religion condemns gambling or not?
290  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Rollbit didnt help me as Gambling Addicted - not closing main account on time on: February 17, 2024, 11:18:40 AM
Yes it was difficult - thats why I came back - It is called by addiction for some reason.
Yes it would be easier, but that isn't what their regulator specifies for them.
It is hard to understand a sickness without being sick. I'm fighting for help and I'm assuming my condiction.

Isn't easy aswell to close all the customer accounts when he states he suffers from addiction? A few lines of code fix that.
It's rather saddening and painful to see other users suffering from gambling addictions. Although I'd like to sympathize with you, I personally see it as bad communication from your side. As @JollyGood already mentioned, you asked them to close the account from which you were contacting them; not both accounts registered under your name. Despite that, I understand your frustration because they have your data available at any time and could have seen that you have two accounts; however, it doesn't necessarily mean that this data is accessible at any time by any employee in customer support. I doubt that they're going to go through your details to see if you have multiple accounts or if their system is portraying that when you reach out to their support. They do what they're told, as you didn't specify to have both accounts closed. Had you specified it, both accounts would now be closed, and there's a chance you wouldn't have gone through all this.

I believe that there are applications or browser extensions that block gambling websites, acting similarly to parental control, perhaps you should look into that in the future.

Best of luck.
291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do people truly risk their money on bets for profit? on: February 17, 2024, 10:25:43 AM
Is it just me, or am I not understanding what exactly the OP is trying to say? Of course, money is a vital part of gambling; we're not expecting to make a living through it, nor are we anticipating it to become a secondary income flow. It is an entertaining activity, but no one plays solely for the sake of "playing for fun" without involving the money aspect. If that were the case, then I doubt if anyone would be interested in playing, because that couldn't be called gambling without the aspect of money and high returns; that's what gambling promises, but not everyone gets it.
292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just hold in patience, nothing can stop the raging bull when it comes on: February 17, 2024, 07:41:16 AM
I don't think if any terms Bitcoin investors would ever want to sell off their Bitcoin when they have alternative source of incomes to survive their financial demands while with the awareness that something huge profitable as the bull-run is coming behind the corner sooner or later.

Earlier on, Bitcoin investment requires the inventors to be engaged on Alt financial sources due to the time factors (patient) implied as the formula for Bitcoin Investors to make it appreciably and probably at when there is increments in the market.
I am sure if those friends had sold their Bitcoins before these days of the bull-run, they would be regretting it by now. Although, we still need to consider that no matter how attractive a treasure is, something else which is about human life is worth than it so, literarily depends on how they spent the money sold of of it that would justify their emotional consciences in this fact but yet, "PATIENT is the watch ward if you must make it count appreciative in the Bitcoin crytop industry.
Depends on the individual. We've seen a few stories in the forum of users barely making ends meet but investing in Bitcoin simultaneously. These individuals are way more likely to sell earlier than someone who's better off financially. I personally have a job and a steady source of income; any Bitcoin I have is through signature campaigns; therefore, I don't need the money in the near future. There are others, however, that may consider taking profit, provided that they've bought at a lower price, as there have been an abundance of opportunities in the past two years.

I also believe that there's a large number of traders who have sold or are willing to sell and proceed to wait for the upcoming dip to repurchase at a lower price.
293  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador's success? on: February 17, 2024, 06:39:33 AM
If President Bukele were a dictator, there wouldn't have been an election in that country. He would have just gone ahead to continue his tenure indefinitely. In every country, there will always be people who either love or hate you. And that is the case with Mr Bukele. He has those who support him and those who just don't like him. I am shifting towards him being more of an authoritarian than a Dictator. He is an authoritarian for the very strict measures he has taken. When El Salvador was Kidnapped by the Criminal Gangs, nobody was defending the poor and innocent Victims, but now that Presidente Bukele is getting the bad guys, now, the world pays attention to El Salvador and even publishes bad PR about him.
I'm certainly not calling him a dictator; that's how some media websites are portraying him, and I fully disagree. On top of that, he's receiving criticism that the economy is still in a bad state, that his Bitcoin adoption scheme wasn't effective, and that billions were wasted because Bitcoin had plummeted. However, Bitcoin has now surpassed $50,000. I don't know at what price El Salvador purchased it, but there's a high chance these claims may as well be abolished now.

It's interesting, though, that the media will constantly give him crap about what he hasn't resolved yet, such as the economy, while the country is tremendously suffering from gang violence. This was the first step in fixing the economy, and it was necessary. I don't understand how it was even remotely possible to resolve the financial crisis with gangs still in place.
294  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador's success? on: February 16, 2024, 10:42:11 PM
~Snipped~
The reason I'm not going into much detail regarding Bitcoin's adoption as legal tender is because there are plenty of other threads analyzing it. I don't doubt that Bitcoin has provided some sort of assistance in the economy; it's very possible; however, I believe that it wasn't what Bukele was anticipating when he introduced Bitcoin to the economy.

Bukele's approach to tackling the crime rate was harsh but justified, and I personally don't think any other approach would have such a success rate. Not only were gangs responsible for thousands of deaths, but they were also ruining the economy in a variety of ways. With it now being a safe country, the tourism sector is far more likely to boom, leading to more work opportunities for locals and increased revenues.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greek 2023–24 Super League Predictions & Discussion on: February 16, 2024, 09:08:50 PM
Looking at the upcoming matchday I can tell that the PAOK vs Olympiakos match is going to be the most interesting for sure. However in terms of odds I'm not very impressed.
I just think it might be worth taking a shot betting on an Aris win against Atromitos with these odds

Aris is a good team but failing to secure a win last match they had was really disappointing. Odds over 2.0 for such a match would be considered too good normally but I guess people now are afraid of being burned. So let's see, in my view it's worth taking the risk for these odds.
I was about to post the upcoming matches. The odds on Aris vs. Atromitos are quite good, although it's a far riskier bet than betting on Panathinaikos vs. Lamia, or AEK vs. Kifisia. Aris is a decent team but it sounds like a riskier option, the odds are great but I'll pass. Personally, I'm considering going with the two I mentioned and OFI vs. Panseraikos as well; they seem like safer options to me, even though the odds aren't as good as the other matches.
296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Escape Debt with Gambling: A Dangerous Cycle on: February 16, 2024, 08:01:34 PM
First of all, it stinks to be in that position because, on the one hand, you feel bad for him and want to help him, but on the other hand, you don't want to get involved. From my understanding, he's asking you to take advantage of a bug at a casino and cash out as much money as possible. Am I right? I would strongly advise against this as it's likely to get you in trouble, and I'm almost certain that it's also written in their TOS that they don't tolerate taking advantage of such bugs.

I personally wouldn't help him; he dug his own hole, and it'd be safer to not get involved; he'll drag you down as well. Don't lend him any money either; it's a guaranteed loss.
297  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you quit gambling for a friend? on: February 16, 2024, 07:28:22 PM
Interest in gambling spreads quite quickly in groups of friends. Everyone strives to brag about their successes, to show how successful they are. But no one likes to talk about their expenses. I've seen those who lost a lot but kept it a secret. And let these people earn a lot, but later spending on gambling seriously ruined their lives.
I believe that you should try not to gamble periodically, because periodicity always makes any activity a habit. And unfortunately, there is someone with a weak character in every party.
It depends on who it is; I've even seen people bragging about how much they lost in their last gambling session. Yeah, there are people who're that dumb and feel like it's something to brag about. But you're right; the majority doesn't reveal how much or how frequently they lose but only presents their winnings. Gambling periodically is fine if you're aware of how much you're spending.
I understand - its hard. Seeing a friend spiral is hard, but I believe in balance. When done safely, gambling may be fun. Rather than cutting off something people appreciate, establish lines when necessary. If I can restrict my gambling, excellent, but I must remain watchful. Setting boundaries, especially for vulnerable people, is whats needed, not quitting. Instead of stopping the activity, we should change how we use it in delicate situations.

Helping our friend is vital. Professional help and a supportive environment are essential. Gamble properly without triggering or enabling his compulsive behavior. A delicate balance between personal freedom and collective duty is needed.
It is certainly not the most pleasant thing to see. Moreover, there isn't any standard or designated approach on how to handle something like this because everyone is different and their reactions are too.
298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 50k is exciting on: February 16, 2024, 02:03:15 PM
I had recently created a topic regarding Bitcoin's capabilities and the opportunities it presents, and the main topic of discussion was reaching the $50,000 mark. Most users, myself included, projected that this would likely happen anywhere after April or May, but we were ultimately proven wrong. It's exciting, but that means that the phase of more affordable Bitcoin has now officially ended. Accumulating Bitcoin was already a lot harder after it surpassed $40,000, let alone 50,000, but that's okay.

Keep your money, wallets, and seed phrases safe. Exchanges are not the best option in terms of safety and privacy issues for taxation purposes, but they're convenient, so I can't blame anyone for using them, but I'd be cautious nonetheless. The same rule applies to online wallets; these are, in my opinion, worse.
299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you quit gambling for a friend? on: February 16, 2024, 11:03:53 AM
It's rather common when a group of friends are introduced to gambling gatherings that at least one of them will end up addicted. I've seen it on a few occasions. However, I don't find it necessary for the rest of the group to quit gambling, especially if they have full control over it and it isn't causing them any issues. Certainly, they shouldn't encourage it when he's in front, but eventually his compulsive behavior will lead him to start borrowing money and going into debt in a mere attempt to recoup his losses, a common mistake or misconception compulsive gamblers have.

The whole group quitting, although not necessary, is unlikely to have an effect; he has a mind of his own, and he's free to gamble with or without his friends. They need to assist him by seeking out a professional; otherwise, he'll end up screwed before he even realizes it.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador's success? on: February 16, 2024, 06:58:16 AM
I have read information about this and watched a short video on how they managed to turn around that country. There would always be people who would criticize the government's actions like calling them a dictator but maybe that's the only way and it has become effective. But the people who have a say on this are the people of El Salvador.

We have an outsider's perspective but we can see results and I think it's a success if the goal is to lessen the crimes and it did. The other issues are a different discussion. It all boils down to the goal you are about.
We're not in the best position to judge, but since the people of El Salvador voted for him, it means that he has done a good job and people support him. Although his actions may look harsh to some, I personally don't see how else someone could tackle such a delicate issue when gangs were controlling over 80% of your country's land.
El Salvador is success, there's a high chance they catch a wrong person because they arrested a lot suspected gang members, but at least this will make El Salvadorian feel safe and they won't try to doing a bad thing due to punishment.

I didn't hear if someone talks bad or not voted Nayib Bukele, he will going to jail, so he's not yet a dictator which like in North Korea.
Indeed, there's a chance someone is wrongfully convicted, but that's not something that isn't happening in the rest of the world either. Over 7,000 people were released after initially being arrested. At least the country is finally safe.
When a government doesn't do their job of keeping the streets crime free, you call them failed government. But when they actually do what they are supposed to do, you are calling them dictator!

The people of El-Salvador knows it better and that's why they have re-elected Nayib Bukele for another term with over 85% of votes. let's respect their choice of life. El-Salvador is a democracy and not anywhere similar to North Korea where there's no opposition party. I have got the news of this re-election just a week back, and it seems, everyone is praising Nayib Bukele for his strong stance against the criminals in the country.

I would definitely not call him a dictator, rather I will call him a leader of the people. I sometimes don't understand the role of these human rights organizations. Where were they when peoples' live were lost due to gang wars? Now someone is cleaning the mess and these organizations are coming around crying for human lives! What an irony!
That's true; most non-profit and human rights organizations are a plague. They're calling out for the rights of these gang members, who were the root of El Salvador's corruption and increased homicide rates that led to thousands of deaths. Yet, these organizations were absent when this was happening and the country was suffering, where were they to support the rights of those who got murdered by them?
